The possibilities of achievements that one could attain if they could dismember their own body would seem to be endless. However, sadly, that doesn’t seem to be the case with the lot from Neverdead. While some of the achievements and trophies are fun- like throwing your head through basketball hoops- some are just downright elusive in how to obtain them.
We have put together this guide to help you get the more troublesome of the achievements and trophies out of the way, as well as the best places to snag them, to try and make the hunt a little less frustrating and hopefully, a little more fun.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Defeat the Sword Pig
This is part of the main story and cannot be missed. It will be acquired at the end of Asylum.
25 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Destroy less than 25% of the museum exhibits
This can be a rather tricky achievement to get. The best thing to do is to always use the blade and stay away from EVERYTHING. Walls and items in the Museum act as though they are made from straw and bubblegum. They crumble with the slightest breeze, so make sure you don’t fire you gun off all willy nilly, allowing stray bullets to destroy the exhibits.
50 Points/ Gold Trophy
Purchase all abilities
To purchase all the abilities in the game you will need to get 13,000,000 experience points. 3 million will just be for the skills that are visible, but once all those are bought, there will be one that is unlocked and will cost 10 million XP to purchase. Surprise!
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Dodge the boulders
During Demon’s Nest, when you enter the building and make your way up the lobby, there will be large balls that will appear and roll downwards. They come in sets of two and are easily avoidable. When you continue up the stairs, there will be another set to avoid. When you have made it all the way to the elevator without being struck by one of the balls, this achievement/trophy will pop.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Kill an enemy with Fire
This is a rather easy one to get. Simply set yourself ablaze with a fuel pipe or burning barrel and then attack and kill an enemy.
50 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Unlock all Prestige Badges
To unlock all of the Prestige badges, you will need to play each of the different multiplayer modes on both normal and hardcore.
25 Points/ Silver Trophy
Destroy $1,000,000 of objects
This achievement is a little odd and we're not quite sure if it is bugged or not. Considering all the damage you can do throughout the course of the game (you can even blow up a helicopter!) this achievement takes it sweet time to pop. The difficult thing about this is that there is no counter that lets you know just how much damage you have caused. We're not sure if there is a bug with the achievement but we played through the game and then several chapters NUMEROUS times and this achievement still never popped. We then played through the entire game again, destroying every single thing we could, and it still didn’t show. Considering the achievement/trophy for $100,000 damage usually dings at around the Museum, one should be able to get this in one play through, but it doesn’t seem to want to work that way.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Explore all of Arcadia's Apartment
You will visit Arcadia’s apartment 3 times throughout the course of the game, and each time you need to make sure you grab the red gems that appear. The first time you visit will be after the Sewers Chapter. When you arrive, interact with the items (fridge, washer, chair, bed, toilet, shower, sink, dresser, vent behind picture above fire place, hole behind mirror in the bedroom, and the vent in the floor at the foot of the bed) and then toss your head on the couch between Arcadia and Nikki. The second time you arrive, at the end of Streets to the Church, repeat the same interactions, but this time grab the red gem from under the bed. The third and final time, at the end of Agency HQ, repeat the interactions and grab the red gem behind the couch.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Take a trip down memory lane
This is part of the main story and cannot be missed. It will be acquired at the end of Prologue.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Dodge the traffic on the bridge
At the beginning of The Streets to the Church, you will head along a bridge where some taxis will start to come at you. Simply jump and dodge out of the way of them, until you reach the subway car that crashes into the roadway. You can use the sprint ability to make this even easier.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Win an Egg Hunt challenge
One of the rather odd modes for the multiplayer, but you will face off against other players to be the first to find and return ten eggs. Once you complete the challenge, the points are yours.
20 Points/ Silver Trophy
Kill 8 panda bears
During the course of the campaign, you will come across 4 Pandas. The easiest way to rack up the extra 4 is to replay the Destroyed Streets chapter since you fight 2 at once, right at the very start, and can lure them into the lava to finish them off quickly.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Get all the civilians to the chopper
During Agency HQ, you will come out to a wide open area outside with a few civilians running around. If you see them take a knee, run over and revive them before their little health icon fills red. If you manage to keep all of them alive until the helicopter appears, this will be yours.
40 Points/ Silver Trophy
Complete the game on easy difficulty
It’s just as the description says. If you want to take it easy, this is the path for you. Playing on easy will allow you to finish the game in about 6 hours with little trouble.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Blow up 35 enemies in the Asylum using barrels
During your time through the Asylum chapter, you will notice that there are tons of red gas cylinders spread throughout the level. Try to lure the gangs of puppies near them and then shoot the tank to take out large numbers of them in one go. If you don’t get all 35 in one play through, simply replay the chapter to get the remaining ones.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Defeat Astaroth, King of Hell
This is part of the main story and cannot be missed. It will be acquired at the end of Demon’s Nest.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Defeat Quad Jaw
This is part of the main story and cannot be missed. It will be acquired at the end of Museum.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Win a Fragile Alliance challenge
For this mode, you will face off against other players instead of working together. Capture the most points by the end of the round and complete the challenge to get the achievement/trophy.
30 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Put head through all basketball hoops.
Throughout the campaign, there are some hoops that you can toss your head through. While not all of them are the “standard” basketball hoop, you can tell if you hit it by Bryce’s reaction. The video will show each basket location, but each chapter has one hoop to find.
Asylum - This is hard to miss but it’s a normal basketball net in the corner just outside the room with the fireplace.
Museum - Just past the first area, there is a red tube alongside some scaffolding. Make your way to the top and then toss your head in the tube.
Police Station - At the end of the chapter, on the bottom floor and in the far left corner, there will be some shelving. Toss your head up there and then up again to the platform behind it and find a hoop hanging in the corner.
Sewer - After you fight the Hippo, you will need to toss your head into some vents that you can move with levers. If you snagged the collectible in these vents, then you will have gotten the hoop as well since they seem to go off at the same time.
Streets to the Church - Once your head pops off the bridge and you land on the street, there will be a basketball court to the left side.
Agency HQ - Near the end of the chapter, you will enter a room that has a staircase in the center and flames all about. There will be 3 hoops on the wall behind the stairs.
Destroyed Streets - being probably the trickiest since it is almost right at the end of the chapter. When you get near the whirlwind, go to the left and look for the basketball hoop.
Demon’s Nest - When you enter the building at the start, there will be a ledge on the far right side. The hoop will be on the backside of the column.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Kill 5 enemies with a single arm explosion
During the Asylum chapter, you will come out to a garden with a couple Wombs that toss out a good number of puppies at once. Purchase the Explosive Limbs skill and then toss your arm towards a couple of the puppies. The puppies apparently love your arms and will chase after it. When there are enough gathered, detonate it for the goods.
10 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Hop, roll and jump...
This is just as the description says. To nab it, you’ll need to be missing one leg so that you are hopping about. Once you are, press B/Circle to roll and the A/X to jump and voila, all done.
10 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Destroy $100,000 worth of objects
This achievement/trophy should pop at around halfway through the Museum chapter (Police station is going for the Antiquatarian achievement/trophy). Just smash and shoot everything you can and it will appear sooner rather than later.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Light all the sewer barrels
Just after you start the sewers chapter, you will need to light yourself on fire to light the way. In the first section, there will be two large room and stairs and corridor that connect them. In these rooms, you will find 13 barrels to light. Once you have raised the lift and dropped down the center of the main room, you will then have 17 more barrels to light in this area. The barrels aren’t hard to find and there’s none that are hiding in any out of the way secret places. Simply keep an eye open and you’ll come across them all easily.
25 Points/ Silver Trophy
Purchase 50% of the abilities
There are 70 abilities in total to purchase, so to get this achievement/trophy, you’ll only need to purchase 35 of them. You can sort the skills by cost, so making the cheapest appear at the top of the list for a quick buy can help.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Lure Panda Bear in front of a train
During Police Station, you will come to your first Panda bear enemy. After the initial encounter in the parking garage, you will both fall through to a subway station where a train will occasionally come tearing through. Simply lure the Panda onto the tracks timed to when the train should appear and a scene will play showing the Panda getting taken out.
50 Points/ Gold Trophy
Complete the game on hardcore difficulty
If you hate yourself, I would suggest you try tackling this from the get go. Keep in mind however, that you cannot change the difficulty of the game once it has started. To change to different difficulty, you will need to start a whole new game.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Complete an Arena Onslaught Challenge
For this challenge, you and your co-op partners will need to clear out wave after wave of enemies that appear within the amount of time that is given.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Lure Panda Bear into lava
Right near the beginning of the Destroyed Streets chapter, you will face off against 2 Panda Bears at once. When they appear, they will burst through a gate which leads to a cliff and a river of lava below. Hang around the edge of the cliff and lure the Panda’s over, preferably in a charge. If you fall into the lava, it won’t matter, as your head will just come flying back out, but once just one of the Pandas fall in, the reward is yours.
5 Points/ Bronze Trophy
You win some, you lose some...
This is part of the main story and cannot be missed. It will be acquired halfway through Agency HQ.
45 Points/ Silver Trophy
Complete the game on normal difficulty
To get your feet wet with the game, you may want to try this difficulty first. Once you start the game however, you cannot change the difficulty without starting a new game.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Complete an Onslaught Challenge
To get this, you will need to complete the challenge of killing all the enemies that appear, by moving from one area to the next in the allotted time.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Defeat Sangria, Duke of Hell
This is part of the main story and cannot be missed. It will be acquired at the end of Streets to the Church.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Complete a Search and Rescue challenge
A little trickier than the Onslaught challenges, for this co-op challenge you will need to complete the challenge by finding the civilians and then having them follow you back to safety. Get the specified number of civilians to safety and this will be all yours.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Save Nikki
This is part of the main story and cannot be missed. It will be acquired at the end of Police Station.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Kill an enemy with Electricity
Much like the BryceBQ achievement/trophy, all you’ll need to do it get yourself shocked with some electricity from a wall panel and then immediately ill an enemy to that the electricity transfers to them.
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Kill an enemy with every weapon
There are 9 weapons in total that can be found throughout the levels. The Firefly sword can be found in the street section on the right in Streets to the Church and the Dragonfly Sword is found on the top level in the building during Demon’s Nest. The Bowgun is awarded to you after having finished the game. The full list of weapons is as follows:
Pistol
Submachine Gun
Assault Rifle
Grenade Launcher
Shotgun
Bowgun
Butterfly Sword
Firefly Sword
Dragonfly Sword
50 Points/ Gold Trophy
Find all Major Collectibles
To find the location of each and every collectible, be sure to check out our collectibles guide. There are 10 collectibles in each of the eight chapters to find. Find them all here
20 Points/ Bronze Trophy
Defeat your nemesis
This is part of the main story and cannot be missed. It will be acquired at the end of Demon’s Nest.
20 Points/Bronze Trophy
Take down the water tower
This is part of the main story and cannot be missed. It will be acquired at the end of Sewers.
20 Points/Bronze Trophy
Get caught up in the whirlwind
This is part of the main story and cannot be missed. It will be acquired at the end of Destroyed Streets.
20 Points/Bronze Trophy
Defeat Sullivan
This is part of the main story and cannot be missed. It will be acquired at the beginning of Agency HQ.
25 Points/Silver Trophy
Shoot 50 enemies with dismembered arms
To get this achievement/trophy with little to no hassle, find one of the wombs in the courtyard garden during the Asylum chapter and let the puppies tear off your arms. Simply keep shooting while you run around not letting the puppies tear off your legs. Grow your arms back after a bit to clear out the puppies and let some new ones appear from the womb. Keep repeating this and you will get the achievement/trophy in no time. It’s also much easier to perform here as you haven’t been introduced to the Granddaddies, so you don’t have to worry about your arms getting gobbled up while they flop around.
