Roadmap
Stage 1: Single Player Campaign and Collectibles Delete
Play through the single player campaign, making sure that you find all the collectible Signs as you do so. You should find that you unlock a number of other trophies as you progress through the game naturally.
In particular, in addition to collecting all the Signs, you're going to want to have regard to
Bird Brained and
Putzki Monologues, which are particularly missable and need to be completed in a single playthrough.
It is recommended that you play on Normal difficulty. In Hardboiled Mode, you will not have access to the same variety of weapons and you will find the game a lot harder generally. There is only one trophy,
Riding the Thunderbolt, which has to be obtained on Hardboiled difficulty. You can always use Chapter Select to come back and get this one later.
You can use Chapter Select to reload any chapter after first reaching that chapter in any playthrough.
You may want to check out the trophies in the "clean-up" stage now and, if you miss any of these trophies during your main playthrough, use Chapter Select to go back and get them. It is recommended that you
use a separate save slot if you choose to use Chapter Select to do this so that you do not split your save and accidentally lock out
Bird Brained,
Putzki Monologues or
Hardboiled Orca for your main playthrough. After you have replayed a chapter and obtained whatever trophy it was that you wanted to do, you should return to your main save slot to continue the game.

Stage 2: Co-op Campaign Delete
In this stage, you will be completing the Co-op Campaign with a partner. You can connect over the Internet or by using the Vita's Ad Hoc connectivity if you are playing with your partner in person.
Unfortunately, only the host player will unlock the trophy, so be nice and play through the co-op mode again with the other player as host to return the favour. Once you've played through the Co-op Campaign once, your second run will go a lot faster anyway.
If you need to find a player to co-op with, you can start or join a Gaming Session right here on PSNP.

Tips & Strategies
Save management
There are a few trophies,
Bird Brained,
Hardboiled Orca, and
Putzki Monologues, which need to be collected in a single playthrough. Your first, main playthrough should therefore be continuous from Chapter 1 through to the end to ensure that you can obtain all of these.
For this reason, it is recommended that you start your main playthrough in one save slot and use the other two save slots whenever you use Chapter Select to go back and clean up any chapter specific trophies or collectibles you may have missed.

Online Co‑OpOffline Co‑Op
You will need to find a co-op partner for this trophy. Create a Gaming Session if you would like to use PSNP to find a partner. You can play the Cooperative Campaign using either ad hoc or by going online.
In order to obtain this trophy, you will need to play through and complete the cooperative campaign mode. Unfortunately, only the host player - the one who sent the invite - will unlock the trophy following the cooperative campaign. Additionally, only the host player will unlock each of the chapters in the co-op chapter select.
There are 10 chapters in the co-op campaign, which roughly mirror the single player campaign in terms of layout. If you have played and are familliar with the single player campaign, you will find it easier to navigate your way around.
The co-op campaign also features various puzzles designed to be solved by two players. It is recommended that you chat with your partner while you play in order to make it easier to solve these.
In total, one run through the co-op campaign will take you roughly 1.5 - 2 hours to complete.
A few tips:
- The character who is described as "EASY" in the character select screen is very overpowered. He has a three round burst LMG which just destroys the penguins. If you find the combat at all difficult then one of you should choose him.
- A pinch maneuvre works wonders on the final boss as he will not be able to keep his shields up on both sides at once.
- During the sections where you must face waves of enemies try experimenting with different places to stand. Against the edges of the screen is usually a good idea as enemies will jump into the arena and will land with their backs to you.
- Have one player stand on the other player's head during any section with turrets. That way you'll definitely both make it without one player falling behind and getting turned into budgie jelly.
- Communicate and make sure that you're sharing resources such as ammo and health packs. If one of the players runs out of ammo it is unlikely that he will last very long.

Missable
You will obtain this trophy after killing 300 enemies in total in the Single Player campaign in any given save slot. There are more than 300 enemies in the campaign so this trophy should be yours without you having to go out of your way. It should pop around Chapter 13 or so. If you want to check how close you are to 300 kills, then exit to the main menu, choose Single Player then Campaign. Beside each save slot it will tell you how many kills have been registered against the respective save file.

You will obtain this trophy once you have found all 45 Signs scattered throughout the single player Campaign.
There are a few things to note:
- Some of the Signs appear in different locations in the PS3 and PS Vita versions of the game. These are the Signs located in Chapters 1, 2 and 13. The collectible guide linked below is for the Vita version, although it should assist you with the PS3 version for all the other chapters.
- The naming convention "Sign [Chapter Number] - [Sign Number]" has been used throughout both this and the Collectible Guide. For example, "Sign 8-3" refers to the third sign found in Chapter 8.
- There are three Signs per Chapter. Before they are collected, they will appear as a red square on a stick. Once they have been collected they will turn around to reveal a yellow "sad-smiley" face on the other side of the red square.
- To collect a Sign either Hardboiled or a penguin has to touch it.
- Some can be reached quite easily, simply by finding the correct path to reach it or by jumping up to it.
- Others will require you to get a bit more creative. For example, if a Sign is out of reach, you may need to find a crate and bring it to where the Sign is, stand on it, then jump up to it. Others, such as the very first one in the game, will require you to air juggle an enemy's corpse into the Sign by repeatedly shooting him until his corpse touches and collects it.
- One convenient thing about the Signs - convenient with respect to the ease of following a collectible guide to find them at least - is that the Signs appear in a specific order. Within each chapter, you must collect the first Sign to make the second Sign appear in the chapter, and then collect the second Sign in order to make the third Sign appear. For example, the order within each chapter will always be Sign X-1 >> Sign X-2 >> Sign X-3.
- However, the inconvenient thing about this system is that you will have to do a lot of backtracking within each chapter as the second or third signs usually appear further back in the chapter from wherever the previous one appeared. Additionally, some require some setting up. Take care not to kill enemies or close doors which you will need later. All necessary setup is detailed in the Collectible Guide.
- If you miss a Sign and come back via Chapter Select you will need to collect any preceding Signs before the Sign you are missing reappears. So if you missed, say, Sign 7-3 on your first playthrough, you will need to collect Signs 7-1 and 7-2 before Sign 7-3 reappears in the Chapter for collection.
Please follow the link below to the Collectible Guide for the specific locations of the 45 Signs in the campaign, together with screenshots showing you where they can be found and descriptions of how you should go about collecting them.
Linked: Collectible Signs Guide
This guide will help you to find all the collectible Signs in the PS Vita version of Rocketbirds. Please note that some of the signs appear in different locations on the PS3 version of the game. This guide should be used for the Vita version only.

Juggle an enemy for 10 seconds (Single Player)
44.86%
Uncommon
You can juggle the very first enemy in the game. Once the game starts, simply start firing your pistol by repeatedly by rapidly tapping
to attack the penguin right in front of you. Keep shooting him for 10 seconds and he should remain airborne. After 10s of repeated shooting and juggling the trophy will pop.
You can obtain this trophy with any penguin in the game so feel free to choose a different enemy if you prefer. Whichever penguin you choose, you won't be able to lift him off the ground again if his feathery corpse falls to the ground. The image below shows the first screen in the game, which is just one of the places in which you can obtain this trophy.

See
Own Pharmacy below. This trophy will pop the first time you kill a helicopter penguin using the method detailed in the guidance for that trophy.
Own Pharmacy
Kill 6 helicopter penguins with their own missiles
29.52%
Uncommon
Helicopter penguins first appear in Chapter 3 during the section where you're flying with a jet-pack.
Helicopter penguins will shoot homing missiles at you. To use a homing missile against him, simply avoid being hit and stay close to the helicopter penguin. When the missile approaches, make sure you get on the other side of the penguin so that the missile hits him instead.
Each helicopter penguin takes 2 hits from a missile to kill. In total, there will be 3 helicopter penguins in this sequence of Chapter 3. There are also helicopter penguins in Chapters 8 and 14, so you will have plenty of opportunities to kill them using this method. You should prioritise killing helicopter penguins in this way until the trophy pops, at which point you can kill them using your normal weapons if you prefer. If you kill the first 6 helicopter penguins in this manner, the trophy will pop during Chapter 8.
Hydrogen Run
Escape the large zeppelin with 40 seconds or more on the timer
19.81%
Rare
In Chapter 8, you will have to take down two zeppelins. The second one is the "large zeppelin".
Towards the end of the level you will start a self destruct timer. The timer will give you 1 minute and 45 seconds to escape the zeppelin. Your escape will take you through a platforming section with numerous, standard penguin soldiers. You will have to play it smart and fast to make it to the exit with more than 40s left on the clock. This may take a few attempts in order to learn the layout and plan your route.
If your timer goes below 40s while you're going for this trophy then just press
and reload the last checkpoint. If you finish the run anyway then a new checkpoint will be made and you will have to play the whole chapter again to return to this point. In order to obtain this trophy, you must make it down the escape chute at the end of the platforming section with >40s on the clock. The trophy will then pop during the cutscene.
Tips
- Getting shot by the penguin soldiers will slow you down a lot. Therefore, you should make sure that you shoot first when there is an enemy in front of you. The shotgun is highly recommended as it will knockback enemies quickly and at range.
- You should make sure that any enemies you do avoid or leave alive are not in a position to shoot you in the back. If an enemy soldier is not knocked back into a pit then make sure you shoot him again to kill him.
- When you are hanging from a ledge, make sure that any enemies on the platform above you have their backs to you before you climb up. If they are facing you, they will shoot you first and you will be knocked back off of the ledge, wasting valuable seconds.
- It is not recommended that you go for this trophy while attempting to collect the two Signs that are in this area, or at the same time as attempting to get Big Blimpin'. Trying to complete those objectives simply takes too long. For this reason, it is recommended that you use chapter select and a new save slot to attempt this trophy without interfering with your main playthrough.

Simply kill 20 enemy penguins with a penguin you have brainbugged in order to unlock this trophy.
The only thing to note is that any kills earned in an area where enemies constantly re-spawn will not count. You need to kill 20 non-respawning enemies with a brainbugged penguin.
Provided you kill penguins judiciously whenever you have control of one of their number, this trophy should come to you fairly easily during your main playthrough. It will pop after you have killed your 20th enemy with a brainbugged penguin.
Bird Brained
Brainbug at least one penguin from each of the 7 penguin ranks, including Putzki in a single playthrough
16.37%
Rare
Missable
There are seven ranks of enemy penguins in the game. In order to obtain this trophy you must use a brainbug on at least one member of all seven ranks in a single playthrough. For that reason, it is recommended that you go for this trophy on your main playthrough. If you miss it and need to start again, you can find all seven ranks by starting a new game from Chapter 8 and playing through to the end.
Don't worry about the black and white "penguin-ified" chicken clones you encounter in the game. They don't count as penguins.
Provided that you have brainbugged at least one of each of the penguins shown below the trophy will pop at the end of Chapter 15, shortly after you brainbug Putzki, the penguin dictator.
Soldiers - These guys are the most common enemies in the game. You will have to brainbug a soldier at numerous points throughout the game in order to progress so you do not need to worry about finding one of these guys.
Rocketeers - The red rocketeer penguins can be found most easily on Chapter 8, on board the small zeppelin which you enter first. There's enough of them throughout the game that you shouldn't need to go out of your way to find one, just make sure that you brainbug one of them while you're on board.
Bazooka rocketeers - You will have to brainbug one of these soldiers on the small zeppelin during Chapter 8, so you will not need to go out of your way to find an opportunity to brainbug one of these soldiers.
Officers - These penguins are most comon in the later chapters of the game but a great opportunity to brainbug one of them is during Chapter 8 while on board the small zeppelin. One will be standing at the front of the zeppelin in the same room as a bazooka penguin. If you miss that one, then you will have plenty of chances later in the game to find another.
Riot shield soldier - This soldier starts to appear from Chapter 10 onwards. Make sure you brainbug one of them when you get the chance. While they are fairly common, there is no part in the game where you will be required to brainbug one of these penguins. If you can make him start his baton-swinging animation, you should have enough time to drop a brainbug at his feet.
Riot shield officer - This penguin is the most
missable of the lot as there is only one of them in the entire game and he will be hostile when you encounter him. He appears at the end of Chapter 12. After killing a couple of penguins, he will descend on an elevator accompanied by a regular officer penguin. Carefully kill the officer penguin without killing the riot shield officer then brainbug him. As above, spamming brainbugs at his feet then goading him into starting his baton swinging attack seems to do the trick.
Dictator (Putzki) - You will have to brainbug Putzki at the end of Chapter 15, so you cannot miss this penguin. Enjoy the feeling of power while it lasts!
Riding the Thunderbolt
Kill Mega-Brno in Hardboiled mode
16.96%
Rare
Difficulty Specific
This fight is reasonably tough.
First off, use Chapter Select, load up Chapter 15 and select Hardboiled mode. In Hardboiled mode you will only have access to a pistol, a knife and an uzi. You will take a lot more damage from enemies, run out of ammo faster, and the enemies are generally a little smarter and quicker off the draw. None of this makes any difference though, as you will be taking on Mego-Brno with grenades.
Play through the first section of Chapter 15 until you initiate the fight with Mega-Brno. The fight takes place on a single screen which loops; i.e. if you move out of the left hand side of the screen you will reappear at the right hand side of the screen. Use this to get around Mega-Brno's attacks and get behind him. Do not try to roll under his legs, he will usually kick you.
Mega-Brno has a large health bar and a nasty rocket launcher which he uses liberally, 3 hits from this thing and you're dead. He will shoot the rocket launcher at three different heights:
- A standing shot which will sail over your head. As long as you aren't jumping, this will miss you.
- A kneeling shot which is roughly at the same height as your head. The only way to avoid this is to duck or to move from one side of the screen to the other by going over the edge.
- A second kneeling shot which will travel at floor height. To avoid this one, travel from one side of the screen to the other. You'll know when Mega-Brno is about to do this shot because he will kneel, chuckle to himself, then lower his launcher to floor level and fire a rocket. The regular kneeling shot does not have a chuckle.
Mega-Brno will get faster and faster as he loses health. He is only vulnerable to attacks from grenades, and then only if they hit him in the head or upper chest area.
Here is the strategy to kill him:
- You should stay in a crouched position for the beginning of the fight. This way, only a floor shot will have a chance of hitting you.
- You should stay near the edges of the screen so that you can quickly travel from one side to the other and get behind Mega-Brno.
- Stay crouched in the corner of the screen and roll over the edge and onto the other side as soon as you see Mega-Brno start to kneel.
- Once you're on the other side of the screen, if Mega-Brno is chuckling, then you will have enough time to attack him. Roll a little closer then use and the [Rear Touch Pad] to aim and lob a grenade at the back of his head. If he is not chuckling, then stay in a crouched position in the corner and wait for another kneeling animation.
- As soon as you have thrown your grenade, press to duck. This is because Mega-Brno will always retaliate with a rocket launched at your head height if your attack lands a hit and causes him damage.
- Repeat this process until Mega-Brno is at roughly 1/4 health and his attacks are really fast.
- At this point, Mega-Brno will have a shield up and you will only be able to attack him from behind. You can stand now as moving into and out of a crouched position will take too long and Mega-Brno will favour floor rockets rather than head rockets.
- Stand in the corner of a screen and wait for Mega-Brno to launch a floor rocket. Wait until it closes the distance with you slightly before running away from it and into the other side of the screen.
- If you timed it right, then you will have spent enough time on whichever side of the screen that you have just fled from such that Mega-Brno is already into a second attack animation facing that direction. In other words, he will have his back to you for a few precious seconds.
- You should have just enough time to run up to him and throw a grenade at the back of his head. Don't forget to crouch with just in case your grenade connects.
- If Mega-Brno is not in a second attack animation, then wait in the corner for another chance.
There are two health packs available during the fight should you need them; one at either end of the screen. Mega-Brno will be able to kill you with 2 rockets and a kick. It is therefore recommended that you should use a healthpack if you take one kick and one rocket otherwise your next mistake could be your last!
This fight is pretty tough and cannot be rushed. Wait for your openings, don't get greedy, and be happy with just one hit at a time and you should have this fight done with before you know it. Once Mega-Brno has been defeated the trophy will pop.

A great spot to get this trophy is in Chapter 13 when Putzki sends waves of enemies at you. Stand at one side of the arena or the other and start lobbing grenades when a wave of enemies enters. They will usually bunch together in the middle of the arena at the beginning of a wave.
Once you manage to kill 3 enemies with a single grenade this trophy will pop. You'll also get

In Chapter 8 you will have to brainbug a bazooka wielding penguin while on the 1st, smaller zeppelin.
When you travel to the screen on the left, you'll see a number of enemies. Start blasting away, kill them all, then move on to the next screen. There are at least 6 enemies in this corridor, so the trophy should pop without any problems. The only way you'll miss this trophy at this point is if you let the other penguins live and just walk peacefully to the button you need to press.
Do not dispair if you accidentally blow yourself up. More bazooka penguins will spawn on the same screen as Hardboiled and you do not need to kill all six enemies with the same bazooka penguin for the trophy to pop.

There are more than 10 enemies to kill in Chapter 2 so you should be able to complete this trophy in the same chapter. Either way, it will probably come naturally provided you use the shotgun frequently.
Laser Assist

The only place you can get this trophy is Chapter 6.
Towards the end of the Chapter, you will come across a penguin soldier standing on a platform slightly above you. On the screen to the right is a laser door. Simply brainbug the soldier and walk him into the laser door to the right in order to obtain this trophy.
Note: You cannot get this trophy in the same run as collecting Sign 6-3 because, in order to collect that sign, you will need to air-juggle this soldier into the sign on the left hand side of the screen. It is therefore recommended that you obtain this trophy then press
and reload the checkpoint so that you can collect Sign 6-3 and continue your playthrough. Alternatively, you could return to chapter 6 via Chapter Select later to obtain this trophy.

At the end of Chapter 11 you will need to retrieve and stack at least two of the crates found at the beginning of the Chapter onto an elevator in order to climb high enough to make a jump up to a ledge. However, in order to unlock this trophy, you will need to stack all three crates onto the elevator.
To retrieve the crates:
- starting from the room they are in, slide them to the screen on the right via the ventilation shaft on the lower part of the screen;
- next, take them up the elevator and slide them through the ventilation shaft on the right;
- push them over ledge and then through the door which used to be locked and into the next screen on the right.
You should then be at the screen shown in the image below.
In order to stack the crates on the elevator:
- Push the first crate onto the elevator and raise it to the top half of the screen;
- Drop down the hole and push the next crate underneath the elevator;
- Push the button to lower the elevator and stack the next crate;
- Repeat steps 1-3 for the final crate.
You will then need to ride the elevator up into the next screen above this one to obtain the trophy.

Simply take your time while on-board the zeppelin and explore every path
before dropping down into the cockpit and killing the pilot for the keycard. Once you're satisfied that you've killed everyone, drop down into the cockpit and kill the commander for the keycard.
The last group of enemies are waiting for you on the other side of the door which opens once you've used the keycard to start the self destruct timer. Simply take your time while moving towards the exit and make sure that you kill every penguin you come across.
The trophy should pop even if you run out of time, provided you have killed everyone. Focus on killing every enemy and you shouldn't have a problem with obtaining this trophy.

Kill all penguins stationed on the small zeppelin in Chapter 8 (Single Player)
46.56%
Uncommon
The "small zeppelin" is the first of the two zeppelins you will be infiltrating in Chapter 8.
The first group of enemies can be killed with the bazooka penguin you'll be brainbugging for
Bazookin'. Simply eliminate everone in this area once you have brainbugged the bazooka penguin before using the button to open the door for Hardboiled.
After the part with the bazooka penguin, head right as Hardboiled and take out the officer behind the desk before climbing up the cabinet and taking out all the rocketeer penguins on the platform above.
Finally, brainbug one of the two penguins in the cockpit, kill the other one, press the button on the door to stop any more penguins spawning from the doorway, and make your brainbugged penguin commit suicide.
The trophy should pop at this point but, if you missed any penguins while you brainbugged the bazooka penguin, they may be waiting for you once you start the self-destruct sequence and open the door to the escape hatch as Hardboiled.

Kill all penguins stationed on the big zeppelin in Chapter 8 (Single Player)

The "big zeppelin" is the second of the two zeppelins you will be infiltrating in Chapter 8.
Once on board the big zeppelin, your first group of enemies will be in the cockpit. (Don't miss Sign 8-1 which is on a screen to the right,
before you drop down into the cockpit!)
The bulk of the enemies on this zeppelin are located in the extended escape which starts once you have begun the self destruct sequence. You will have more than enough time to kill every enemy in this sequence provided you do not allow them to get the jump on you and air juggle you off of any ledges. Make sure you check every platform and pit for enemies before moving on and you should find them all without any problems.
While you're here, look out for Signs 8-2 and 8-3, which are both in this part of the level, near the escape chute on the far right. You should be able to get this trophy and both of the signs in the same attempt. Sign 8-2 is in the very last pit before the escape chute. You will then have to backtrack to a very nearby floating platform for Sign 8-3. Sign 8-3 is so close, in fact, that it's actually visible on the same screen once you've collected Sign 8-2.
It is
not recommended that you try and combine this trophy with
Hydrogen Run. You simply won't have enough time unless you get very, very lucky.
