Rocksmith 2014 Trophy Guide

Roadmap

Stage 1: Get Everything Set Up Correctly Delete

Take some time to ensure that your instrument and audio set-up are optimised to play Rocksmith 2014. Please see the notes in the Set-up and Notes section of this guide. If you are reading this guide with a view to purchasing Rocksmith 2014 and a guitar or bass, please read that section as you may not appreciate the investment in your home entertainment system which you may need to make to get the most out of this software.

Once you're all set up and have launched the game for the first time you will be prompted to calibrate your instrument, earning you Bronze Welcome to Rocksmith 2014.

It is also recommended that you go into the game's options and choose to calibrate the latency settings, so that the notes on the note highway correspond exactly to the timing of the songs. Detailed instructions on how to change this can be found in-game. Press the [Touch Pad] then choose gameplay options >> latency.

Once you have completed this stage, feel free to do the remaining stages in whatever order you wish, as there is no particular order in which you should unlock trophies as there would be in a game with a campaign mode or story.

Trophies you should work towards in Stage 1

  • Welcome to Rocksmith 2014
    Complete Soundcheck

Stage 2: Learn a Song Trophies Delete

These trophies are all earned in Learn a Song Mode, which is Rocksmith 2014's "bread and butter" mode, and where you'll probably be spending the majority of your time learning to play real songs on a real instrument using real arrangements and as performed by real artists. Are things getting real enough for you yet? Go you!

Stage 3: Score Attack Mode Trophies Delete

After learning a song in Learn a Song Mode, this is the litmus test to see if you really can play it. In Score Attack Mode, you can fail a song if you fail 3 riffs before reaching the end, while accurate playing will reward you with high scores and combos. This is where you can find the game's few stackable trophies, so if you want to pop a few at once, use Learn a Song Mode until you can play a song at maximum difficulty before jumping in.

Trophies you should work towards in Stage 3

Stage 4: Rocksmith 2014 Mission Trophies Delete

The Rocksmith 2014 mission trophies will take you some time, and will mostly be completed in the background while you're doing other things. If you want to focus on them and earn these trophies a little quicker, pay attention to the 3 missions displayed on the title menu when you enter the game and choose to do whatever is highlighted in the top-right corner of the screen with the Rocksmith plectrum icon. You'll have to do 500 in total, so don't neglect them while you practice.

One miscellaneous trophy has been included here, which is obtained for playing anything in the game on 5 consecutive days. It doesn't really fit anywhere else, so consider it a mission!

Trophies you should work towards in Stage 4

  • Now, That's Dedication

  • Mission 214
    Complete 214 Missions

Stage 5: Guitarcade Trophies Delete

Things not feeling "gamey" enough for you? Head to the Guitarcade!

Here you'll be earning high-scores and beating levels all while improving the skills you will need to master your instrument. The various mini-games will develop your skills in finger placement, picking/fingering, hammer-ons, pull-offs, bends, chords, slides, dynamic range, harmonics, and more.

Stage 6: Session Mode Trophies Delete

Feel like blowing off some steam and getting creative? Rocksmith 2014 introduces Session Mode, where you can choose a band to play with, what key you want to play in, and get jamming. The game will tell you what notes will sound good given the key the band is playing in, so all you need to do is rock. The band will dynamically change their playing in response to yours, so take the lead and get composing.

Trophies you should work towards in Stage 6

  • Ready to Session
    Complete 4 Session Mode Missions
  • Epic Session
Complete 60 minutes in Session Mode
  • Jam-a-thon

Stage 7: Tone Trophies Delete

Want to see what your instrument would sound like after being amplified or distorted by some of the best gear in the business? Then head to the custom tone settings and experiment with the various effects and pedals which the game emulates.

Effectively, these trophies can all be earned with some quick messing around in the menus. See the trophies for instructions. But feel free to spend time experimenting with different sounds if you wish.

Stage 8: Nonstop Playlist Trophies Delete

Actually, some of these can be earned in other modes but it's easiest to get them here.

Choose to start a nonstop playlist, pick your favourite songs from the list of available tracks, choose how long you want your set to last, and let rip. You will be taken from song to song as if you were playing at a gig. See the trophies for more info on what you will need to do while you're here in order to obtain everything.

Trophies you should work towards in Stage 8

  • Not Your Favorite?
Exclude a song from the Nonstop Play playlist
  • One More Song!
Use the One More Song feature

Stage 9: You're a Rock God Now! Delete

Well, there isn't really a clean-up in this game given that there's no story or campaign mode. As long as you've hit all the other stages, you should have the Platinum by now. If not, review to see what you've missed.

The only way to go from here is forward. Now that you've finished the trophies, why not switch your path and do it all over again with a new instrument like the bass? Or set your own personal goal and try to attain a platinum score on master difficulty on every single song? Or buy that DLC pack from your favourite band and learn some of their songs?

Just remember to give us some credit for inspiring you with this guide when you're on stage at your sell-out concert in a stadium somewhere!

Set-up and Notes

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT SETTING UP - PLEASE READ

Do not think of Rocksmith 2014 as a traditional "game". Rather, think of it as a piece of educational software. With that in mind, it is recommended that you do not buy this game on a whim unless you have lots of disposable income. If you are reading this guide with a view to buying the game for the trophies, and do not have a commitment to learning or improving your skills with the guitar, then you may wish to think carefully about your purchase.

The reason for this warning is that you will need a particular home entertainment system set-up to get the most out of Rocksmith 2014. If you do not already have the recommended home entertainment set-up and a half-way decent guitar then getting everything set-up correctly could cost you some money and/or lead to frustration.

What you will need (PS4 version)

Before setting off on your journey to learn guitar or bass using Rocksmith 2014, you're going to want to make sure that you have everything you need to play the game optimally. Please take a moment to read these notes, especially if you do not already own Rocksmith 2014 and are reading this guide with a view to possibly purchasing it.

What you will need to get the most out of Rocksmith 2014:
  • Decent speakers or a sound-bar, which can accept optical audio input (via "TOSLINK") directly from your PS4;
  • A direct optical audio cable (a "TOSLINK" cable);
  • An electric, 6 string, guitar with a standard 1/4 inch audio jack;
  • Optionally, an electric bass (preferably with active pickups) with a standard 1/4 inch audio jack;
  • A copy of Rocksmith 2014 (obviously); and
  • A Rocksmith Real Tone Cable (which may need to be ordered separately if you buy the game either digitally or a physical copy which does not have this included). These can be found on Amazon, and work with any console family or PC which will run the game.

PS3 players will need a different set-up given that the PS3 does not have a TOSLINK optical audio output port. PS3 players will also have different options to choose from. Please refer to advice from Ubisoft, here and choose a set-up option which suits you best.

Setting up

You do not want to be running your PS4's audio stream through your TV, either via HDMI or optical audio. If you do this, you will experience about 0.5s of latency (depending on the TV) between playing a note on your instrument and hearing that note coming out of your TV. This is because your PS4 will be sending both visual and audio information to your TV, which your TV will have to decode into actual visual images and sound respectively. Most TVs prioritise the decoding of images and take some time to process this information, resulting in minor latency on the audio.

While 0.5s may not sound like a huge deal of lag, it is when you're trying to keep in time with music. If you don't have one already, treat yourself to a decent set of speakers or a sound-bar. Your other games will also benefit from improved audio latency so consider it an investment in your home entertainment set-up.

What you will need to do therefore is take the audio directly from the PS4 to your speakers using the PS4's optical audio port at the back of the console. Once you have done this, head into the PS4's settings, and change the audio output to direct optical output to bypass the TV entirely for audio.

If you are still unsure about audio set-up, see Ubisoft's advice here.

When it comes to connecting your instrument to the PS4, this is done via the Real Tone Cable. Simply plug the audio jack male end into your instrument, and the USB end into your PS4. If you are using an instrument with active pickups, remember to unplug the audio jack from the instrument when not in use. Leaving the jack plugged in to the instrument will run down its battery.

Finally, you will want to ensure your guitar and bass is properly "set-up". Many guitars are shipped properly set-up, but some may have bowed slightly since manufacture - wood is a natural product after all - and need just a little attention to play correctly.

In particular, you are going to want to check that the instrument is properly intonated. If it is not properly intonated the game will have difficulty recognising the notes you play, particularly at the higher end of your instrument (i.e. notes played closer to your instrument's "body"). If the instrument is not properly intonated, you will find it frustrating when the game says you weren't playing on the correct fret. To check your instrument's intonation, check whether a harmonic and a note played at the 12th fret are the same pitch, either by ear or using a tuner. If not, then your instrument needs intonating.

You can adjust the intonation yourself, (use your Google skills to find a guide to doing this) but, if you are a beginner or not confident doing it yourself, you may wish to consider asking a professional to do it for you. Most guitar shops will have a "set-up" service where they will check the intonation and adjust the bridge as necessary, as well as give your instrument any other "health checks" that it may need. If you would like to, you can also ask them to adjust the instrument's action.

Even once you have done all this and set-up the game and your audio correctly, you may still encounter some audio glitches while playing. A crackling sound when you play is a common such glitch. In most cases, completely shutting down and restarting the PS4 will fix these weird audio glitches.

Notes on the game and this guide

Firstly, you probably shouldn't be eyeing up this game if you are only interested in the trophies. Rocksmith 2014 is a learning tool first and foremost, which has been "gamified" in order to aid and enhance the learning process. Unless you're already quite good at playing the guitar or bass it will require a lot of commitment from you to improve your skills to a level where you can obtain this Platinum. Additionally, you should probably go into this game intending to continue playing it after obtaining the Platinum.

The length of time it takes to achieve the Platinum will vary widely depending on the skill and dedication to practice of the player.

Your experience level will dictate this game's difficulty and the time required.

An experienced guitarist may blast through the competency and skill based trophies and simply have to spend time grinding the time-based and accumulative trophies. They will need to spend a minimum of 25 hours in "Learn a Song" mode, before cleaning up the other trophies in the other modes. An estimated 35-40 hours will be required in total for these players. A rank novice, picking up an instrument for the first time, will likely require much, much longer.

The same goes for the difficulty. Naturally, a complete novice will have more to learn and have to do more practice before they can obtain the skill and competency based trophies. Difficulty will also depend on song choice - more techincally difficult song arrangements will require more practice and skill to learn and master. A difficulty rating of 5/10 has been selected in recognition that some players will already know their way around a guitar or bass, whereas others may be rank beginners. If you are a rank novice, substitute the 5/10 for a 9/10 or a 10/10.

Please note that the entire trophy list should be considered "Other Peripheral Required" - your instrument, obviously. This tag has not been added to every trophy for the sake of brevity, but should be assumed throughout.

Finally, if you are unsure whether you want to learn guitar or bass, but are particularly motivated by the Platinum on offer, then you should choose a guitar. The Platinum will not be obtainable if you only have access to a bass. If you have a guitar only, you can still play bass tracks using Rocksmith 2014, as it has an emulated bass mode which will shift the pitch of your guitar down an octave while you play. Choosing a guitar is therefore recommended if you are particularly motivated by the trophies. Improving your guitar skills will also put you in a very good place to pick up the bass, if that is what you want to do later.

The following trophies cannot be obtained with a bass:
  • Bronze Nailed it!
  • Bronze Return of the Strings
  • Bronze I Know Chords
  • Bronze I Know Guitar Techniques
  • Bronze You're All Clear, Kid!

Paths

There are 3 "paths" you can follow in Rocksmith 2014. These are the Lead Guitar, Rythm Guitar or Bass Guitar paths. Essentially, you'll want to choose the one you like based on what kind of player you want to be and what instrument you have. If you have a guitar, you can play on any of the 3 paths, using the emulated bass mode to learn and practice bass arrangements. The only thing you wont be able to do with an emulated bass is play the bass guitar lessons - the game will require you to use a bass guitar for these.

Lead Guitar

On this path, you will be learning to play the guitar like a boss. If screaming solos and being the centre of attention are your thing, grab a guitar and pick this path.

Rhythm Guitar

If you prefer to keep everyone else in the band in time and love throwing out catchy chord riffs, then this is the path for you. Keep people's feet tapping and their heads bopping with some rhythm baby, yeah!

Bass Guitar

If you are a deep and thoughtful person, who likes deep, rumbling tones to match, then bass is the instrument for you. You'd rather provide the soul than the ego to the music you play, and those around you will come to know it. If you want to follow this path, it is highly recommended that you get yourself an actual bass rather than using the emulated bass in order to experience all the content on offer in Rocksmith 2014. In particular, you will not be able to access the bass guitar lessons without an actual bass guitar. Achieve 100% Mastery on any song

"Mastery" is Rocksmith 2014's way of measuring how well you know a song.

When you first play a song, Rocksmith 2014 will hide some of the notes from you and will dynamically increase the number of notes that appear on the note highway as you improve your mastery of each riff in the song until you reach the point where you are playing the actual song arrangement.

With Master Mode enabled in the game's options, the game will eventually start fading and removing notes from the note highway again. At this point, you will have to rely on your memory in order to correctly play a song.

In order to obtain a Mastery rating of 100% or higher, you will need to get good enough at a song so that the game is showing you the "full" song, as played by the original artist, and then starts to hide notes from you once it feels that you can play a riff from memory.

You can obtain a 100% mastery rating with Master Mode disabled, but it is harder to do because you need to hit 100% accuracy. By enabling Master Mode, the game gives you bonus "mastery" for the fiffs that you have memorised, which can push you over 100% even without 100% accuracy in the song.

Depending on the choice of song, this could come sooner or later. A relatively easy song on which to obtain this trophy is Blitzkrieg Bop by The Ramones, which only involves 4 chords on guitar or 4 notes on bass.

"Learn a Song" is Rocksmith 2014's bread and butter. It is where you will spend most of your time as you learn to play real arrangements in real songs.

In order to obtain this trophy, you will have to spend 10 hours learning songs in Learn a Song mode. These 10 hours must be completed actively playing songs. Time spent in the menus does not count.

If you want to cheese this trophy you can start a song in riff repeater mode, choose a part of the track to practice, change the settings to infinite attempts at the track, and leave the game idle for 10 hours. However, by doing this you won't be practicing and developing your own skills at your instrument which you will need for other, skill based trophies. "Missions" are Rocksmith 2014's way of guiding you around the game and highlighting for your attention the things there are to do. Before long, you will start to see Session Mode missions appear in the prompt in the main menu. There is a Session Mode mission available whenever you see the Rocksmith 2014 plectrum icon next to the Session Mode option in the main menu.

When one of these missions is available, simply enter Session Mode and follow the instructions shown in the box in the top right corner of the screen. The mission may ask you to play in a particular key, with a particular preset band, or in a specific tempo. Apply the correct settings, then launch the Session. Play for a bit, and you should see a pop-up informing you that you have completed the mission. Do this for four different missions and the trophy will be yours.  Epic Session

Start Session Mode, choose some accompanying instruments, and launch a Session. You will now need to play your instrument for 60 consecutive minutes in order to earn this trophy. If you stop playing for long enough that the virtual band also stops playing then the timer will reset and you will have to start again.

It is recommended that you make things interesting for yourself by choosing some interesting accompaniment, allowing for key shifts and dynamic tempo, etc.

Alternatively, you could lower your speaker's volume (not all the way, you want to listen out to make sure the band is still playing just in case) and simply play one note for 60 minutes while you listen to a podcast or watch something on a portable device in the meantime. But, obviously, doing it this way does not give you any useful practice with your instrument. Jam-a-thon

Score at least 10,000,000 points in Ducks ReDux
4.01%
Ultra Rare
In the game Ducks ReDux you shoot ducks according to what string and fret they appear on in order to score points. After you have shot enough ducks, as indicated in the top left of the screen, you will trigger a rainbow duck to appear. The rainbow duck will travel across the frets, so you must time your shot to hit him. He will give you a larger amount of points when shot, change the string which you are playing on, and push the wall at the back of the screen back. After a string change, more regular ducks will need to be shot before a rainbow duck appears.

The wall at the back of the screen will move forward as the game progresses. If it reaches the line just above where the ducks spawn, the game will end and your score will be tallied. As you get deeper into each game the wall will approach at a faster pace and you will need to play faster and more accurately in order to spawn a rainbow duck in time to push the wall back and keep the game going.

The key to obtaining a high score in Ducks ReDux is to take your time and make sure you don't miss any shots as doing so will reset your multiplier, potentially losing you a great deal of points.

Score 10,000,000 points in a single game of Ducks ReDux and you will earn this trophy.

You will most likely need to play multiple games before you will be able to make a run at successfully reaching 10,000,000 points. This is because most Guitarcade games have a seperate multiplier which increases when you complete missions. You will always have 3 missions available to you when starting a new game. Completing a mission earns you a star, and earning 5 stars will level you up, earning you a permanent +1 to your multiplier on that game. As you complete missions they gradually get more difficult. It is reccommended that you increase your multiplier to the highest level you can before trying to go for the required points to get the trophy.  Blowhole Surfers

3.15%
Ultra Rare
Gone Wailin' uses your instrument's dynamic range ("loudness") to control the strength with which a whale egests water from his blow-hole. The jet of water will push up a man. The harder/louder you play, the higher the whale will push the man. As your instrument quiets, the man will slowly fall down the screen. Alternatively you can mute the strings to completely cut off the water stream and drop the man. The screen will scroll to the right, in a typical side-scrolling fasion.

The aim is to use your instrument's dynamic range to push and lower the man so that he avoids hazards and collects golden bananas. The man can walk on top of islands floating in the sky if he lands on top of one, but cannot hit their side-edges or any other hazards such as the birds that are flying around. Collecting bananas will earn you points, and collecting an entire chain of bananas will earn you a combo bonus.

You could "cheat" this trophy by playing as loud as you can with your fretboard hand, then using your instrument's volume knob to control the height of the water-spout.

Ninja Slide N will have you practicing the slide technique.

The object of the game is to move a ninja from one pole to another. For example, the ninja may begin on a pole at the 8th fret, with the next pole being on the 4th fret. You must play a note on the 8th fret of the string indicated then quickly slide to the 4th fret while sustaining the note. If you stop short or go too far the ninja will fall, breaking your combo. There is also an electric field chasing you, which will increase in speed as the attempt carries on. If it catches up to you, your ninja will die and your turn will end. Falling will not end your game, but will waste time and allow the electric field to catch up to you.

The aim is to move the ninja safely from one pole to the next using slides performed on the correct string. Occasionally there will be bonuses in the ninja's path between two poles. If you time the slide correctly and the ninja collects one of these then you will earn a bonus and the game will change the string you should play on. Chaining together multiple successful slides while occasionally hitting the object which changes your string is the key to success here.

You will need to earn 10,000,000 points in a single game of Ninja Slide N to unlock this trophy.

Complete all 6 levels in a Scale Set in Scale Warriors
2.39%
Ultra Rare
Scale Warriors is the Guitarcade way of learning new scales. Essentially, the game will map a scale onto the screen and your job is to play the indicated notes, which will all be part of a scale.

What makes it interesting is that the game turns learning scales into a Double Dragon-esque side scrolling brawler. You will control two characters who will be attacked by enemies as they progress through each level. The game will display your instrument's strings on the ground with the notes in the scale highlighted. Enemies will stand on one of these highlighted notes and prepare an attack. If you play the correct note before they are able to do launch their attack, one of your characters will attack them instead. You will have to combo together a number of correctly played notes in order to defeat each enemy and continue your progress through the level. If you take too long to attack an enemy, you will take damage from its attack. If one of your characters runs out of health, you will get a Game Over and have to go back to your last checkpoint and suffer a score penalty.

As you progress through Scale Warriors' levels, new scales will appear on the ground (e.g. Aeolian, Ionian, Maj. and Min. Pentatonic, etc). Additionally, the game will introduce new enemy types. Each enemy, its attacks and the combo required to defeat it, is explained before they are introduced to gameplay. Some enemies will require you to play the scale notes on a single string, while others will require you to play a number of notes up or down the scale before they are defeated.

If you want to give yourself an easier time while going for this trophy, then consider playing in emulated bass mode or using a bass. With only 4 strings to worry about, learning the scale patterns is much easier on a bass.

At the end of each level you will encounter a boss. Defeating the boss will unlock the next level. Complete six levels in a set (i.e. across a row in the level select screen) to earn the trophy.  Return of the Strings

Ultra Rare
This trophy cannot be obtained with a bass. You must play with a guitar on the Lead Guitar or Rhythm Guitar paths.

In Return to Castle Chordead, you will learn to play a variety of chords in a Typing of the Dead style on-rails shooter.

There are a variety of zombie types to shoot as you progress through each level. Some need to be hit multiple times, some will shoot you with gobs of slime, etc. However, they are all killed in the same way. When a zombie appears on screen a chord will also appear beside it. For example, "E5", which refers to the E5 power chord. Playing the E5 chord will shoot the zombie.

If you do not yet know the chord, waiting a few moments will display the fret position on screen beside the zombie. You will acquire more points for playing the correct chord quickly, before the fret position is displayed, but no particular point score is required for the trophy.

If you fail to play the correct chord and are struck by an enemy, you will lose health. You will have 5 hearts of health which can be regained at checkpoints throughout each level. If you run out of health, you will have the option of continuing from you last checkpoint, although you will incur a score penalty to doing so.

In order to obtain this trophy, you will have to complete all 3 levels in a chord progression. There are 13 progressions to play through, each made up of 3 levels. The trophy will pop after you complete the third level in the first chord progression, which focusses on Power Chords. This trophy cannot be obtained with a bass. You must play with a guitar on the Lead Guitar or Rhythm Guitar paths.

Star Chords is essentially the same game as Return to Castle Chordead in terms of gameplay design, except that the aim is to achieve a high score instead of simply to survive each level and the setting is different.

In Star Chords, you will be piloting a spaceship. Enemy spaceships and turrets will appear on-screen, together with a named chord (e.g. Em). You will have to play the correct chord to shoot the enemy spaceship. Fail to do so before the enemy ship shoots you and you will lose some health. Shooting the enemy spaceship more quickly will yield more points.

Again, if you wait, the finger placement for the chord will be displayed. However, the timing is very tight and if you are not familliar with the chords and their names you will most likely struggle to achieve a high score. It is therefore recommended that you spend some time playing Return to Castle Chordead before attempting Star Chords. Think of Return to Castle Chordead as the game that teaches you the chords and of Star Chords as the exam.

There are different varieties of enemy spaceships. Some will require you to play more than one chord before they are defeated.

After you successfully score 10,000,000 points in a single game of Star Chords, this trophy will pop.

You will most likely need to play multiple games before you will be able to make a run at successfully reaching 10,000,000 points. In Hurtlin' Hurdles, you will practice your skills with the tremolo strumming technique.

You will control a runner on a running track. Each lane of the track corresponds to a different string on your instrument. A wall of spinning blades will approach from the left hand side of the screen.

You will need to make the runner run by strumming quickly (tremolo) on the string which corresponds with the lane of the track that the runner is on. You will need to strum fast enough to outrun the spinning blades.

From time to time, you will encounter a hurdle. To make the runner jump, you need to mute the string at the correct moment. Similarly, there are periodic bonuses floating in mid-air. Again, mute the string to jump and collect these.

From time to time, you will have to change strings. Another lane of the track will light up and, when it does, you should change to the new string. If you fail to change strings in time, your runner will fall over and your game will end.

You will gain points for distance run, hurdles jumped, and bonuses collected. As the game goes on the wall of spinning blades will increase in speed.

The trophy will pop after you complete an attempt in which you gain at least 10,000,000 points.

You will most likely need to play multiple games before you will be able to make a run at successfully reaching 10,000,000 points. Score 10,000,000 points in Harmonic Heist
1.93%

This game will have you practicing your harmonics in order to steal items from a museum.

You control a cat-burglar sneaking around a museum. In front of you will be a corridor, stretching out into the distance. In the corridor you will see artefacts which can be stolen. To approach and steal an artifact, you need to play a harmonic on the indicated fret and string. So, for examle, to steal a red artifact on the 7th fret, you must play a 7th fret harmonic on the low E-string. Stealing artifacts grants you points and successfully stealing artifacts in quick succession will apply a combo multiplier to your points.

Occasionally, you will encounter a jewelled mask. Repeatedly play the mask's indicated harmonic to collect multiple jewels and boost your score further.

All sounds easy so far? Well, you're not alone in the museum.

In the background, you will be able to hear footsteps. This is a security guard, on the prowl for burglars like your character. If he catches you, your attempt is over.

To avoid detection, you must be hiding behind cover when the security guard checks the corridor. The artifacts all rest on wooden plinths, which are effective cover. You will know when the security guard is approaching because the footstep sound effect will quicken suddenly. Essentially, if you hear his footsteps quicken, you need to move to a wooden plinth or, if you are already behind one, stay where you are.

Some of the artifacts, and particularly the bonus masks are sat on metal stands which do not provide cover. Wooden plinths will change to metal stands after a guard has checked the corridor and, as you get deeper into the game, there will be fewer and fewer available plinths to rely on.

In order to unlock the trophy, you must obtain a score of 10,000,000 in a single game of Harmonic Heist. The trophy will pop after you do so.

Score 10,000,000 points in Scale Racer
1.46%
Ultra Rare
While Scale Warriors is the Guitarcade way of learning new scales, Scale Racer is the way to practice and master them.

In Scale Racers you will be in control of a car, attempting to escape from the police while driving down a freeway/motorway. There will be other cars on the highway, blocking your path. There will always be one lane available for you to move to in order to get past the blocker cars, and the stings and fret you should play in order to move into that lane will be shown on the freeway/motorway. As the game progresses, you will increase your speed, and will have less time in which to play the next correct note in order to keep the game going.

The correct notes are not random. Scale Racers is designed to get you practicing playing up and down scales and playing them quickly. So, if you practice your scales, you will be better able to play this game.

Just note that the game does, periodically, try and catch you out by changing direction halfway through a scale.

In addition, you should look out for opportunities to take an exit and move onto a new scale. For example, let us assume that you are playing the A Pentatonic Minor scale. Occasionally, an exit lane will appear at one or other side of the freeway you are driving on, (for example the 9th fret on the G string when playing on bass). Playing that fret while the exit lane is available will cause your car to take the exit lane, and move to a new freeway, on which you will need to play a different scale. Taking an exit slows down the speed of play considerably and gives you a points bonus, so it is worth looking out for these exits.

The game will end when you fail to play the correct note in the scale in time and crash into one of the blocker cars.

You will most likely need to play multiple games before you will be able to make a run at successfully reaching 10,000,000 points. This is because most Guitarcade games have a seperate multiplier which increases when you complete missions. You will always have 3 missions available to you when starting a new game. Score 10,000,000 points in Temple of Bends
1.30%
Ultra Rare
As the game's title would suggest, this game will have you practicing the bend technique.

Temple of Bends is a platforming game where you control the environment but not the character. The game's protagonist is a explorer, trapped in a collapsing temple. The explorer will automatically run backwards and forwards along whichever platform he is on until a path opens up to the next platform either above or below him.

The threat will either come from above or below the explorer in the form of a falling ceiling of spikes or a rising sea of acid. If either of these threats reaches the explorer he will die and your game will be over. To keep the explorer alive you will need to connect platforms together with vines which he can climb across.

In order to connect platforms together, and give the explorer a path between them, you will need to play a bend on the correct string, which is indicated by the colour of the platform, on the correct fret, as indicated by the number below the vines. You must also ensure that your bend is played severely enough to reach the next platform, either up or down.

Occasionally you will come across gems. Pay attention to the colour of the gem. If you want to collect it, you will need to play a bend on the string and fret indicated by the colour of the gem and the fret number below it respectively. Collecting gems will also award you with bonus points. In addition, collecting the gem will change your string and the direction the game is travelling in (i.e. if you have been going up the temple, you will switch to going down).

In order to unlock the trophy you will need to obtain a score of 10,000,000 in a single game of Temple of Bends. The trophy will unlock once you have done so.

You will most likely need to play multiple games before you will be able to make a run at successfully reaching 10,000,000 points. In String Skip Saloon, you play as a bartender in a Western-style saloon trying to fend off waves of invading bandits. The aim of the game is to develop your skills at playing only the string you want, when you mean to.

The bandits will enter the bar from the right hand side, walking along coloured lanes which correspond with your instrument's strings. Play a note on the correct, open string and the bartender will shoot the bandit. Shooting bandits in the correct order - the "front runner" will have a small star icon around his feet - will earn you a combo bonus.

There are a few different types of enemy. Small and "skinny" bandits will go down in one shot, whereas big bandits will require two shots to kill.

As each game progresses, the enemies will get faster and faster. If one bandit reaches your bar, the game will end and your score will be tallied.

It is recommended that you control your strings by muting them quickly after playing a note (i.e. do not let a string ring-out), as this can interfere with the game's detection of when you have moved to another string, and/or mistakenly think you have played the string which is ringing out more than once, which may cost you your combo.

Again, this game is easier with a bass or by playing in emulated bass mode, as you will only have to worry about 4 strings as opposed to 6.

Successfully achieve a score of 10,000,000 or more and you will obtain this trophy.

Alternatively, you could search online for some guitar or bass tab or sheet music if you know how to read those - although you should note that those available online are usually transcribed by enthusiasts and they may not have got the tab completely correct.)

In order to obtain a Platinum rating, you will need to clear every phrase in the arrangement with enough accuracy that its colour changes to green once it has been passed. If any single phrase is not shown in green after you have passed it, then you won't obtain a Platinum rating. Having said that, you do not need to be 100% perfect (but obviously that will help). Overall, you will need to play through the song very accurately indeed.

It is recommended that you attempt this trophy on one of the games simpler arrangements, such as Blitzkrieg Bop (played on any path, but bass is particularly simple), but feel free to choose whichever song you can play best and know well.

Unlocking this trophy will also unlock each of the stackable trophies listed immediately above this one in the trophy list if you have not already obtained them. Ernie Ball’s Long Streak Special
Get a streak over 250 that bridges multiple songs
17.34%
Rare
You can earn this trophy in any mode where you play songs, such as Learn a Song Mode, Nonstop Play or Score Attack.

A streak occurs when you play a series of notes correctly. Essentially, you need to end one song on a streak, then begin a different song on a streak. Combined, you need to hit a streak of 250 correctly played notes from one song into the other.

You will probably obtain this one naturally, particularly if you are playing bass. Easy songs to streak together include:
  • Blitzkrieg Bop;
  • Black Magic;
  • You Really Got Me;
  • Pour Some Sugar On Me; and
  • Every Breath You Take.

Feel free to streak together any two other songs that you prefer.  Mission 214

"Missions" are Rocksmith 2014's way of guiding you around the game and highlighting for your attention the things there are to do. As you progress through the game and complete Missions, you will unlock alternative skins for your in-game fretboard, speakers, venue, headstock, etc. Keep an eye out for the small teal-grey coloured Rocksmith plectrum icon in the menus, which highlight which section of the game has an available Mission. Missions are also displayed in the top right hand corner of the main menu, although you may need to back out to the title screen from time to time if the pop-up which shows them has hidden itself.

Early Missions will include things like "Play 1 new song" or "Play with the grunge rock band in Session Mode". As you complete these, you will start to encounter more complex or difficult missions asking you to, say, improve your mastery in a particular song to a particular percentage rating, or to earn a "Great Performance" accolade after completing a song.

Missions vary and increase in complexity as you complete them. If you want to seek out some lower-level, easier Missions to complete, try switching your path to one which you have not used as often as each path has its own, separate, set of missions. If you only have a bass, then this option will not be open to you.

Once you have completed 500 missions, this trophy will unlock. It will be quite a grind to complete them all, but you should take comfort from the fact that it will all help your skills with your chosen instrument.  Not Your Favorite?

Go into Nonstop Play Mode from the main menu. Use Song Manager if you wish to remove any songs you don't like, then choose to start a Nonstop Play session. Set how long you want to play for to whatever you please - obviously shorter sessions will earn this trophy for you more quickly. Then start the Nonstop Play session.

After your selected play-time has passed, the Nonstop Play session will end. However, you will see a small menu where one of the options is "One More Song". Choose "One More Song" from this menu and this trophy will pop.
