Mass Effect 3 is filled with planets waiting to be discovered, some contain rare salvage such as credits and technology, others contain assets that are vital to your war effort. This Mass Effect 3 Planet Salvage And War Assets Guide will list all the available planets, as well as the things you may discover on each planet.
How To Probe Planets and Scan
You’re able to scan simply by flying around space and hitting the appropriate key (displayed in the lower left of the screen). The radius is slightly smaller than then animation makes out so be sure to scan every inch. Try to catch several planets in one scan if possible, to minimize the Reaper interest. A few tips on avoiding Reapers. If you’ve discovered something, if you go into orbit to scan and probe, the Reapers will freeze in place, even if they’re right next to you, as long as you move the opposite direction as soon as you’re out, you should be fine. You don’t have to fly to an exit arrow to leave the area, just go to edge and you’ll escape. If you didn’t have time to complete an area, you can simply leave and return, the Reapers will respawn instantly but will all come from the edge, giving you time to throw off a couple of scans or a quick probe. If you pay attention to the direction you enter each galaxy from, you can position yourself coming in from the right side.
Speed Scanning
When you’re scanning, don’t hold it down the entire time. Instead, press it once and look at the direction of the white line, as the cursor moves faster when you’re not scanning. Move a short distance and scan again, repeat. You can also use the Mouse + A/D to scan faster, I assume it would work similarly on consoles also.

Scan the planet north of the sun, Juntuama, to get this war asset.

Just south west of Juntuma is a wreckage that will give you 150 fuel.

The tiny planet, Pheiros, in the northern part of the sector hosts the Turian 79th Flotilla war asset

Way to the north of the giant snow sun ball, just west of Pheiros, You’ll find wreckage with a huge 750 units, scan with caution as you’re right on the edge and Reapers come in fast.

Alliance Special Ops Team Delta – War Asset
Scan the planet to the south eastern corner, Loki, to probe the planet for the War Asset
Alliance Cruiser Shanghai – War Asset
Scan Terra Nova, south east of the sun to be able to probe the planet for the War Asset
