This is the first time we've heard about the Alliance City in more than 6 months!! I predict an explosion of features and uses coming out of it soon, starting with the Bazaar.
The Bazaar replaces players' unused Cores with Copper that can be used to trade with Merchants for a "variety of supplies daily".
You can finally get rid of those Relic pieces you never use 😂
However, the Merchants are slightly unpredictable. Keep in mind two variables:
A quick strategy off the top of my head is to communicate with your Alliance carefully about what to buy with Copper, and when to activate the item for everyone in the Alliance to use. By planning ahead and timing your item uses during events your whole Alliance (or a majority) wants to participate in, the rewards you reap will be much greater.
Even moreso, it would be smart to communicate with the Top Alliances in your Kingdom about which items to use and when. This will increase your chances of winning KvKs.
For those who don't know, a few months ago Game of War made it public that they were thinking of adding in a feature that would allow players to trade materials with each other.
No word of that feature has been mentioned since that time, but the Bazaar seems like a counter feature to trading materials. The Bazaar reduces the global supply of materials instead of redistributes them.
A material trading marketplace is massive undertaking so it's possible it may appear in BETA sometime, but chances are looking slim.
The Alliance City has been sidelined by many Alliances for a long time. Is the Bazaar something that would entice you engage with the Alliance City again?
Right now the Bazaar isn't active in BETA for some reason, but we'll report back on the items it offers in a few days.
