I think that the graphics of Sky Force 2014 are really well done and really shine through the game.  I think that the game is super solid for all aspects of the game, but it isn’t original at all, which is the only real problem I have with the game.  The game lacks any kind unique traits it has to the game.  But, if we ignore that, the bosses are really cool and the bullet hell that you are put through is really fun to play against.

Sky Force 2014 is also really well made in terms of bugs and crashes with the game.  There aren’t too many problems with the bugs and crashes in the game and if there are any, they get solved pretty quickly.

I also like that the game does not have many in-app purchases because the more that there is, the more it feels like a pay to win game.  Right now what they have is an ad-removal as well as couple of bonuses that you can get for your ship.  So while they still have that stuff, it is not as excessive.

I would give Sky Force 2014 a 8/10.   The artwork in Sky Force 2014 is pretty good with the little details on all of the ships as well as the enemy ship.  Especially the boss’ ship which is pretty detailed and pretty good looking.  I definitely think that they put ample time to improve the artwork in this game because right now it is pretty good with the addition of the background which is also pretty well detailed.  I do think that the artwork in this game is what makes it pretty popular.  Everything is almost pretty life-like that it is hard to distinguish whether the shots taken of the background were actually real life shots or not.

Music and SFX

I would give Sky Force 2014 a 7/10.  I think that the dynamic music within the game is a pretty good addition because it is this kind of war and combat music that you might expect from a movie about a war.  The music when you win or get past the level is pretty cheesy with the classic winning kind of sound that you would expect out of any game.  I think that they definitely could’ve added a better opening screen music because right now it is kind of average.  Not really that exciting and it doesn’t really entice you to play the game anymore than your original wanting to play the game.  To keep it short, it doesn’t really make you want o play the game anymore.  I think that if the game added some kind of option to put your own music for the game then that would be pretty cool and enjoyable.  I think the sound effects in Sky Force 2014 are pretty decent with the shots that you can hear as well as the little lasers that come out of you.  They all make good sense for why they were implemented in the game.  

Story and Originality

I would give Sky Force 2014 a 2/10.  There is no decent storyline in Sky Force 2014.  You are really just a pilot in a rocket ship and you are trying to kill all of the bosses in every single level.  I mean, what more is there to talk about in the story.  There are really just a bunch of people trying to kill you in this game and you are pretty much just your lonesome in the game.  I think that if they were to add some kind of storyline to the game.  It would have to be some kind f heroic thing where the hero is saving some kind of princess or something cheesy like that.  However, I don’t really see the need for a story because it is just a pretty simple arcade game that you can play with your friends and there is really no concern for there to be a story involved in the game.  I think that in terms of originality, this game is a super copy cat of the simple arcade games that you might have found a couple of years ago as well as a copy of the games that you can find in abundance online.  The game is really not original with all of the upgrades and power-ups in order to get a couple of new guns, but I guess the game is a bit different than the arcade version because there are multiple levels to it with bosses that actually speak to you instead of the bosses being muted.  So I guess it adds some dialogue, but that is pretty much it in terms of the game being original.  I think that in order to make the game more original, they need to add some kind of story to the game along with some mini games in order to make the game both more exciting and more original because right now it is so similar to other games that you can’t even call this game close to original.

General Gameplay

I would give Sky Force 2014 a 6/10.  Sky Force 2014 has some pretty unoriginal gameplay, but the game is still pretty solid if you don’t look at other games of the same type.  The gameplay of Sky Force 2014 is really good if you don’t consider the other games that are pretty much this game with a few little details that are different.  Not considering the other games, the fact that you can change your gun type by getting power-ups is a really fun concept which will players look for the most powerful gun that they can get in the game and continue trying to find more power-ups to find what gun does the most damage.  I also think that the length of time that it takes to complete every level is really solid because the game is long enough to make sure that you are into the level and if you die during the level, you really get that urge to try again because you want to get to the next level and beat the boss.  The fact that this is kind of a dodging projectile game is really nice because it is fun to dodge the multiple projectiles in the game.  I think that the part of the game where you are basically in a locked screen where you can’t move the screen forward yourself, but you rather have to wait for the game to move towards your ship.   I think that it makes the game really solid in terms of getting to be able to not have to worry about moving yourself, but rather that the game moves for you, but I do think that if players could move forward at their own pace, that would be more solid because the easy levels would go by much faster and wouldn’t require you to wait for the game to move through the whole level.  I think that the bosses in Sky Force 2014 are also really solid being that they have waves of what they shoot in terms of projectiles which makes the game pretty predictable, but predictable in a good way so that you can dodge the projectiles unless you aren’t careful.  I think that the controls are very simple, but the sprite does move a bit too much for when you want to make a small adjustment.  This makes it so that it his hard to accel at the game.  You can often be really good at the game but the controls make it so that you can’t dodge things on a micro level and it makes it pretty hard to be super good at it and be able to dodge the bullets by just a sliver because you will usually run into another bullet.

Addictiveness

I would give Sky Force 2014 a 5/10.  Sky Force 2014 is definitely one of those games that everyone has played before.  It includes the projectile dodging aspect of the game as well as the shooting aspect of games.  It is essentially a duel between you and a bunch of enemy ships that are shooting relatively slow projectiles at you, trying to destroy you so that you have to start over in the game.  Sky Force 2014 is definitely one of those games that really benefits from the features that the game provides for you.  It is like one of those arcade games that you might find if you went to an arcade in a game room.  If you are older, it might bring some amount of nostalgia from playing games that are so similar to this one.  If I was explaining it to someone who has never played this kind of game before, in terms of addictiveness, it is a bit repetitive.  You constantly are shooting the same enemies with the differences simply being the boss at the end of the level.  There are different environments that the game goes through but it is pretty much the same game throughout the entire game with the same enemies.  After doing the levels over and over again, it is super repetitive.  Throughout the entire game, Sky Force 2014 is pretty much the multiple level kind of game where the game gets hard to a point where it gets really hard to play the game as well as difficult to win after a certain amount of time.  I love the concept of the game but it is a bit repetitive with the amount of levels.  It is a bit addicting because Sky Force 2014 has a ton of different firing types where you get to shoot some different projectiles that deals a ton of damage and more and more damage, the better upgrades that you get.
