Gears & Guts Cheats & Tips for Tokens & Money – New Hack Updated

A basic problem with games in nowadays is that there are too many of them and there is hardly any theme that isn’t used already. Unfortunately, our today’s game too is a victim of such interference and is set in an overly used, rugged theme of post apocalypse world of zombies, but is theme the only thing which matters in a game? Of course not! I don’t really care from where you pick or copy the elements because what really matters is the outcome, which should be enjoyable. Gears & Guts is our today’s focal point and is developed by Glu. Previously I reviewed their Defenders & Dragons which was, maybe, Glu’s best try but still wasn’t enough because of several Glu factors which mainly includes too much freemiumness. Gears & Guts has a rating of 4.3/5 stars with approximately five million downloads which somewhat gives me hopes. So, let’s see if Gears & Guts gives Glu the wheels they require to move us from the amateurish perception about them.

As previously mentioned this game is set in post apocalypse era of zombies and you’re one of the survivors with the charge of saving your city. Gears & Guts is something you get when you mix the vehicles and weapon system of Death Race with the zombified land of World War Z, and card-like class system and upgrading techniques of any RPG. You’ll use vehicles powered with chainsaws, machine guns, flamethrowers and many other weaponry to slice through zombies. You may be happy to know that this game isn’t an endless and features missions which is a nice touch to keep the user in the game.

This game features both touchscreen and tilt to steer controls. The touchscreen control are different than Asphalt or other racing game because they contained auto acceleration while this one doesn’t. You’ll have buttons to accelerate and reverse on right side of the screen and to steer on the left. In tilt to steer you’ll again have buttons to accelerate and reverse your vehicle and are a bit tough to use. Your vehicle will fire weapons automatically and there isn’t any limit on ammo. This game features two currencies. The first one is bolts. Depending upon your performance and mission’s level, you get these whenever you clear a mission or via daily awards or even by trading with Glu Credits. Bolts are used to upgrade and purchase those vehicles and equipment that aren’t covered under the term Freemium and they won’t be that much powerful either, which makes the secondary and the premium currency, Glu Credits, more important. Glu Credits aren’t easy to obtain, you will get them whenever you’ll complete a chapter or via completing different offers and if you’ll be dependent on these methods to obtain them then they will never be enough to get high-end vehicles or weaponry.

Gear & Guts Background Info

There are total of six chapters in this game and each chapters contains six missions with the last mission featuring a boss which won’t be like the rest of the regular zombies. Killing a boss gives your rewards of greater value. Missions are distributed in five different categories which are:

Defense – In this type of mission you’ll have to defend a location/convoy from a series of waves of zombies. Each wave requires a number of zombies to be killed which increases as you go up the waves.

Delivery – These are time based missions in which you’ll have to collect crate from different parts of the map and deliver them to required locations within a time limit.

Smash – This type requires you to locate and kill a specified number of zombies within a time deadline. Zombies can be of a specific type or different depending upon the mission requirement.

Gauntlet – These requires you to drive to different locations on the map, more like checkpoints, to inform people about the upcoming zombie attack. These aren’t time limited hence you don’t need to worry about time running out.

Hunt – These mission are somewhat similar to ‘Smash’ which requires you to kill a specific type of zombies within a given time limit. There are only two visible differences between the two. First is that the target will try to flee when the player is around and the remaining difference is that killing them gives additional time.

Whenever you’ll complete a mission or sometimes even during a mission you’ll get cards that can give you weapons and vehicles. There is a health and XP (experience points) bar. Health will get hits from zombies or any other obstacles on your way and killing zombies will give you XP required to raise your level. Leveling up fills up your health bar and I haven’t seen another benefit than this. If you aren’t able to clear your mission due to any reason then you’ll not get achievements but you can save them by using revives which are limited.

Other than bosses you’ll face six types of zombies. Walkers are the most common and least dangerous of them, and can be killed easily by just running over them. Round greenish fat zombies are called Goobers. They will throw green balls at you dealing a small damage to vehicle and leaves greenish fluid, when crushed, which will make you lose control of your car. Crawlers are always in the form of group and they can be deadly if not dealt properly. Zombies that will attach themselves with your vehicles are called Runners and will continuously damage it if not scraped off or killed using side weapons. Second last type is called Bruisers. They are dangerous and can deflects vehicle if your try to runner over them without dealing enough damage. Chuckers is the last type and they throw rocks as a long range attack and hits with arms as a short range attack. There are few powerups that you can get from killing zombies randomly and these are:

Rapid Fire – Increases weapon fire rate.

Quad Damage – Increases affective damage by four time.

Invulnerability – You car will not lose health.

Before you step inside your vehicle you’ll have to make sure that your vehicle has what it needs to get you through the increasing difficulty of missions. One of the most attractive things in Gears & Guts is the high vehicle customization abilities which are required to keep your gear on par with the recommended power rating of each mission.

I don’t know about the exact number of vehicles there are in this game because only few of them are visible and can be purchased from loadout menu, rest can only be won during missions. Vehicles uses cards-game like classes which are Common, Uncommon, Superior, Legendary and Epic. These classes tells about the attributes or capabilities of a vehicle with common being the weakest and epic having the viciousness required to cope with the deadliness of final missions. Every Vehicle has Armor which is the amount of health the vehicle will have during a mission, Slot which represents the number of weapons that can be equipped and the maximum possible are four, Speed which is an indication of vehicle’s top speed, Handling which is an indication of vehicle’s turning speed and all these things, with the current loading/upgraded level, sums up to the total power rating of the vehicle.

As previously mentioned, depending upon available slots, one can equip a vehicle with up to four possible weapons. On hoods you can get machine and other long range guns but they can only aim straight. Sides can be equipped with chainsaws and other similar weapons to kill climbers and other zombies when you drive past them. On your vehicle’s roof you can install missile related weapons, these are strong, have long range Omni-directional attacking ability but are slow as compared to rest of the weapons. Last place is your vehicle’s front and here you can install stronger spiked bumpers which can help you to run over zombies without dealing any damage to you vehicle. You can also upgrade your vehicles and weapons by consuming other vehicles and weapons. The raise in level depends upon the level and class of consumed element. Every vehicle and weapon has a maximum level beyond which their abilities cannot be extended.

Gears & Guts used to be available for Android and iOS users only but now it’s taken off from the iOS App Store due to some unknown reasons hence iOS and Windows Phone users both will have to miss a decent game. This review was based upon 1.2.7 version of Gears & Guts which required Android 2.1 (Éclair) minimum for Android users with at least four hundred megabytes of free space. There are few bugs in this version of game, for example, the were frequent forced close ups and not responding errors and it isn’t compatible with Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or above which means almost all the new devices won’t be able to play it. This game is graphically intensive and requires a decent mid to high range device to give a lag free experience. Unfortunately, there isn’t any option to sync with Google Play Games or Facebook which means there isn’t any way to cloud save your game data nor there are any achievements and leaderboards for comparison.

As this game is based around the term freemium, there are in-app purchases available to get Glu Credits which in-turn can be used to purchase upgrades required to survive. The first and the cheapest package costs $4.99 and gives one hundred-ten Glu Credits in return. Second packages will set you back by $9.99 and fill your bar up by two hundred-sixty Glu Credits. Third is a moderate packages that provides a total of six hundred-forty Glu Credits for $19.99. Next package costs $49.99 and gives two thousand Glu Credits and the last one will make a hole in your pocket by $99.99 and give equally whooping five thousand two hundred Glu Credits in return. No doubt these credits are not at all cheap and a wise man will think hundred times before spending that much.

Cheats & Tips for Gears & Guts

This games features loads of deadly attractive vehicles and weapons, and of course everybody wants them especially without paying anything. Game hackers and modifiers again heard the wishes of these people and gave us a modified version of Gears & Guts. This modified version is for android only and this time it isn’t an ‘apk’ but instead the game data is modified to give you unlimited Glu Credits and Bolts. Installing this version is a bit different than others. Follow up these instructions:

  1. First of all Google this modified version, open the most popular link and download the modified game data.
  2. Force close your game from Application setting or just reboot your device.
  3. Go to Android folder of your built-in SD card then open ‘obb’ folder.
  4. Remove the original game data and copy the modified version.
  5. Run the game and enjoy unlimited Glu Credits and Bolts

Above mentioned method will work but if you aren’t willing to go through that hassle, you can always utilize few tips which are:

  • If you’re low on bolts, an easy way to get them is to repeat previous missions especially the ones without time limit and spend as much as time you can before completing it.
  • Use level 2 equipment for upgrading other/targeted vehicles and weapons because this way you’ll get more level up than just using all base equipment for upgrades.
  • You don’t have to fight boss zombies to clear final mission of chapter.

Gears & Guts Review

I’ll start by saying that this game is still somewhat affected by the ‘Glu’ factors but this time they did it, they are able to make a game which finally is more than being ‘just playable’. The gameplay isn’t anything like other zombified games nor is it an endless runner. There are missions which keeps user’s attention within the game and certainly crushing those zombies feels good because there aren’t many games that lets you do this especially in death race’s style. There isn’t any map to pinpoint your location but instead there is a direction indicator that will navigate you towards your next target which makes the game overall easy. Upgrading and loadout is another nice feature which doesn’t let the game’s taste dry out. Although the controls are simple and different than what we are used to but they are easy to get hold of especially on-screen controls.

The artwork of the game is solid, the color grading is exactly what you expect from a game which follows the theme of post apocalypse. World’s geometry has nominal details and the edges aren’t smooth but more intensive graphics requires more powerful hardware hence this level of details are more than acceptable. The UI interface of menu and gameplay is simplistic. In menu you can rotate and check the car from different angles, upgrade your vehicles without any issue and nothing is far from your reach.

The soundtrack is a mixture of rock and pop, and despite having just a single soundtrack it doesn’t get repetitive. This department is detailed. Every weapon, vehicle and zombie has its own unique sound. Overall I liked this game and it is fun to play. The only complain which I have is of too much freemiumness which isn’t easy to overcome and excessive ads.

Ratings:

General Gameplay: Gears & Guts gets an 8.5/10 here. The gameplay is compelling, unique and above all logical. You aren’t the only survivor and certainly not the only one helping, there are other cars too. The controls are vanilla plain. As previously mentioned, there are only two issues with this game, excessive ads and forcing towards in-app purchases.

Artwork: I’ll give Gears & Guts a 7.5/10 here. Overall this game features a good graphical package with a theme which exactly follows the requirements. Only complaints are that there should have been more maps than one and a bit more details with options to turn them on/off in setting wouldn’t hurt.

Music & SFX: This game gets an 8/10 for this department. Gear & Guts leaves an impressive mark here. As I’ve mentioned already the music has plenty of details and soundtracks never gets repetitive, at least it didn’t for me, hence in literal words there isn’t anything bad about this.

Story & Originality: I’ll give this game a 7/10 here. No doubt the theme isn’t new is used by thousands of other games nor this game shines any light on the origin of zombies but the place where this game really excels is execution and I haven’t seen any game like this one before.

Addictiveness: I’ll give Gears & Guts an 8/10 here. This game definitely is addictive and time shall pass with a fast pace. There are missions which makes sure game isn’t just about running over zombies, different upgrades makes this game is a center attention for customization loving freaks. Everything sums upto an addictive and rare package which was something I least expected from Glu.

Overall I’ll give Gears & Guts an 8/10 and I’ll recommend it to people who likes action packed games.
