Ubisoft has triumphed once again in their endeavors to create a mobile game that captures your attention, and keeps you coming back for more. May of 2015 marks the month that Ubisoft released Trials Frontier, an app that gained the title of “Editor’s Choice” on both Google and Apple platforms, gaining an approximate 4 star average from the players who’ve had the opportunity to experience it. You can get this game on iOS and Android for free.
Trials Frontier is a fresh perspective on the gameplay that have made other games such a blast to play, such as Bike Baron (developed by Mountain Sheep). Trials frontier puts you in the place of an avid motorcycle enthusiast in a small, unnamed frontier town which desperately needs your help to capture the town villain, Butch. As you begin to play and progress past the tutorial, you are introduced to the main antagonist of Trials Frontier, Butch, who tries to kill you, and wrecks your bike in the process. With the help of the town’s citizens, you set out on a mission for revenge, racing every beautifully-drawn track in the land to gain supplies that will aid you in finding Butch, and upgrading your bike so you can beat him in a final race.
To help these citizens defeat Butch and bring him to justice, you’ll have to complete small tasks for individuals within the town. These tasks are usually composed of request to race certain tracks and recover items; in return, you’ll be given special items that will help you along the way.
You might be in the middle of playing Trials Frontier, you quickly might be realizing that you need a lot of coins, gems, and fuel to help you get upgrades and progress through the game. The bad part is, it costs real money if you want to get these items from the app store, and the money adds up within a few purchases.
If you want to get coins, gems, and fuel for free, you need to check out our hack tool, which we have made that gives you unlimited amounts of these items.
Check out the picture below, which shows you how easily the hack tool is to use, with a simple options menu that guides you on where you need to input the values of each item you want to add.
All you need to do is download the free Trials Frontier hack, which should take about 30 seconds, and then you will notice it automatically installs. You then will need to select either Android or iOS depending on which device you are using. Then, simply enter the amounts of coins, gems, and fuel that you want to add to your account.
Press “Start” to begin the hack tool, which takes about 30 seconds to finish, and just load up the game.. You will see that the coins, gems, and fuel are already on your account ready for you to use, and you can avoid ever paying for items in the app store again.
Trials Frontier is a very simple game with a slight learning curve, but we have some subtle tips and cheats that will enhance the game, just for you. Yeah, we know, we’re awesome.
When racing, sometimes you’ll mess up and flip your bike, or crash into the ground face-first; don’t worry, it happens to everybody. While you can tap the “restart” button to send you back to a checkpoint, sometimes you’ve already lost so much time while crashing, and you wish you could start all over without exiting. Luckily enough, Ubisoft put a ‘restart level” function into that restart button; all you have to do to use this somewhat hidden function is to press and hold, or swipe the restart button after you crash, which should restart the race and take you to the beginning of the track.
In Trials Frontier, you will occasionally have to ascend a very steep slope, followed by a sharp decline right after the peak of the hill. These hills can be detrimental to your overall time when racing, simply because most people tend to rocket off of the hills as if they’re trying to reach galactic orbit. Don’t do this; you’ll spend more time going straight up in the air in a vertical line, and less time traveling along the ground towards the finish line. To top it off, you’ll likely take a rough landing, right on the peak of the hill, which could potentially flip your bike out of control. To avoid losing time on hills, take your finger off of the accelerator just before you reach the summit of the hill, and angle your bike back down towards the ground for a smooth landing.
As you continue to progress and complete more and more missions, you’ll reach a point where your main focus is collecting enough supplies to upgrade your bike to successfully complete a certain race. A little cheat you can use for when you run out of new missions is to actually go back and replay an easy track from early on in the game. Most early levels offer every type of supply as a reward, and they are a breeze to drive through because of your upgraded bike. Take advantage of this fact, and you’ll have some suped-up bikes in no time flat.
The rewards system of Trials Frontier is a wheel that you spin; the item that the pointer lands on is your reward for completing the mission. Most people usually breeze past this stage without thinking twice, but upon further investigation, there’s more to this wheel than what is immediately apparent. If you know how, you can flip the odds in your favor and increase your chances of gaining a specific item. To do this, simply tap the item you desire (with the exception of the gem slot), and you should see the boundaries of this item grow a small amount. This increased surface area boosts your chances of winning that object. If you use the “re-spin” option that Trials Frontier gives you (in return for two gems), you can tap the object again to inflate the size of the item boundaries even further! The best part of this cheat is the fact that you get to keep both results of the spin, which means your gems are going to good use whenever you use this secret.
Trials Frontier has a lot of content to offer, yet it retains a simplicity that avoids over-complication within the game that would reduce Trial Frontier’s highly addictive nature. I’ve found myself playing this game in short stints, which it is perfectly suited for Trials Frontier, but hours of gameplay at a time can be equally enjoyable, provided you keep refueling your bike.
Trials Frontier utilizes a “fuel” system that prevents players from blowing through the entire game in a matter of a couple hours. You get a maximum of 30 fuel, and 5 fuel is consumed for each mission you begin. At the start of this game, this is not a problem at all; your rapid level-ups refill the tank before you can completely empty it, which means you can progress through the beginning of the game fairly quickly without worrying about an empty fuel tank. While this system is fairly annoying, I have to give kudos to Ubisoft for giving the fuel system a fairly short reload time of about 1 fuel per 2 minutes. This is optimal if you are a on-the-fly gamer, as you wouldn’t have to worry about the fuel limit at all. Those of you who like to complete games as soon as possible will have a reason to grip, however.
Aside from the fuel system, I’ve been utterly pleased by Trials Frontier; everything from the music and setting, to the dev’s slightly sadistic sense of humor (at the end of each mission, your character crashes into some horrific death-trap or another) resonates so well with me that I found myself hooked within minutes of opening the app. The scenery in each track interacts with your bike, such as objects exploding as you drive past, water towers toppling in your wake, and crates swinging on a rope (watch out for that one); all of this adds to a sense of finely-tuned gameplay, polished off with vivid colors and striking backdrops. Trials Frontier is full of some serious eye-candy and mentally stimulating racing tracks.
The mechanic shop will be a venue you visit quite often while you’re playing Trials Frontier. The upgrade system available for your bikes is simple enough to be understood easily, but the requirements for the upgrade are challenging to acquire, but definitely worth the work. Bike upgrades definitely make a difference, so don’t neglect this aspect of the game; it will be difficult to progress while riding nothing more than a glorified bicycle. Eventually, you’ll find blueprints to new and improved bikes with different areas of strength; I won’t give any spoilers as to that, but let’s just say the blueprints are the bee’s knees.
Artwork- The artwork in Trials Frontier is part of what makes the game so darn fun! I love the style, and I like the direction they took with an “Old West” feeling; it’s hard to describe, but you’ll know what I mean as soon as you try it. The artwork gets a 10/10 from me.
Music/SFX- The music in Trials Frontier is the second part to the equation of Trials Frontier’s success, the first part being artwork. The music really sets the stage for the setting the devs were going for, and the SFX are “crisp” and almost realistic; I definitely recommend wearing headphones while enjoying Trials Frontier. The music and SFX deserves a 9/10.
Story and Originality- Trials Frontier is part of a side-scrolling, racing genre that sees little to no variation between a majority of the games within this niche; most motorbike racing apps of this style are practically clones of each other, with little to no story or plot. Trials Frontier, however, managed to carve out elements of a story revolving around the small town, and basically invented their own sub-genre of art styles. While the idea of motorbike racing games is old, Ubisoft brought a refreshing splash of innovation into the scene, and did an excellent job of making Trials Frontier rise to the top. I’ll give story and originality a 9/10.
General Gameplay- Apart from my minor complaint involving the fuel system, Trials Frontier plays like a paid app, but boasts no price tag to speak of, apart from minor IAP (in-app purchases) that aren’t required to complete missions and receive full enjoyment from the game. General gameplay receives a decent rating of 8.5/10.
Addictiveness – I don’t think Ubisoft could have made Trials Frontier any more addictive than it already is, but if they did… let’s just say that I would never step foot outdoors again. Ever. Addictiveness receives a rating of 10/10.
Overall, Trials Frontier has been an awesome discovery for me, and I know I’ll be playing it until I finally reach 100% completion. In the end, Trials Frontier deserves an overall rating of 9/10.
