Welcome to the unofficial game guide to Runaway 2: The Dream of the Turtle. It will help you to carry out all tasks given to its main protagonist - Brian. But because most of the pleasure in playing games like this come from solving riddles by yourself, I suggest to look here only when you don't know what to do at all.
Runaway 2: The Dream of the Turtle is a very linear game. Passing over one line in conversation or inaccurate inspection of some object may block and irritate you. That's why it's good to use all dialogue options - thanks to that, you won't miss funny stories and expressions told by met characters as well. Most of humor in the game comes right from them.
I marked all objects useful in the game with green color - just to make it more easy for you. It is applied only to those objects that can be picked up.
Now there's nothing left to say except for this - have a good time with this wonderful adventure game!
It supposed to be a regular vacations - little, not crowded by tourists island lost somewhere in the ocean. A moment to take a breather and rest from big city, a great holidays for Gina and Brian. Unfortunately, like it often happens, all turned bad before they even got to the place. Suddenly Otto, no longer young pilot of the plane they were flying in, collapsed. The vehicle tilted and rushed down to the ground. Quick search of plane lockers resulted in finding one parachute. Gina didn't want to use it and leave Brian behind but he insisted. After a short struggle he pushed her outside. Soon the girl was falling slowly with an open parachute canopy. Brian took over the rudder and partly thanks to his skills, partly to the luck, he managed to land safely.
Maybe "safely" isn't the right word here... Usually planes can fly again after the landing. Not this time. So what now?
Brian looked around and got acquainted with the area. The wreck was surrounded with the jungle. There was no human tracks seen and the pilot was gone, as well as the backpacks of theirs.
Quickly Brian came up with a simple plan consisted of two parts: get out of the jungle and find Gina. Easier said than done. But first things first. He knew from his previous experiences that in situations like this you usually take advantage of things that seem useless at first glance. That's why he look around the plane carefully.
Right next to the exit Brian found a glass shard. It was sharp enough to be used as a cutting edge. On the right he noticed some boxes - it turned out there were capote puppies inside. He took one and watched it closely - it looked like it can be filled with water (worth remembering). He found also a closed compartment, but unfortunately no key as yet.
On the way to the pilot's cabin Brian found Gina's hairclip (#1).
In the cabin between the seats Brian found a central glove compartment (#1). He took bottle of whiskey and binoculars from it. On the left there was another compartment (#2) with some old maps and magnifying glass inside. He also noticed a little lever on the left (#3), so he pulled it down. Something opened outside the plane. There was only one way to find out what was it - go there and check it out.
It came out that the lever opened a little hatch on the front of the plane. Brian tried to look inside it but the hatch closed itself before he managed to do it. So he came back to the cabin and used Gina's hairclip to block the lever.
When he left the plane again, suddenly a little white object fell from the sky. It was Otto's license. Brian looked at the treetop. There was something on it but he couldn't see what exactly. He used the binoculars and noticed a bag hanging on the branch, but there was no way to get it at this moment, so he came back to the opened hatch.
Among many junks he found a tool, bottle of water and anti-slippage spray. He hide all those objects in his abysmal pocket and returned to exploring the area.
He went to the right and get to the place with big rock and quicksand. He noticed a lemur along the way, but the animal whipped off after seeing a man. On the quicksand Brian found a gogle (#1). It sure was Otto's. He tried to pick it up but his hands were too short, so he used a nearby stick to get it.
He took a good look at the gogle and used a glass shard to cut the strap off it. Then he used the strap on the branch. The result wasn't satisfying, so he used the edge with the branch to improve its shape. He combined it with the strap again and made a fine slingshot.
He used the slingshot to bring down the bag from the treetop. He found a broken plastic key inside which could be used to open the closed compartment but it needed to be repaired first.
He recalled finding a magnifying glass and he decided to use it to melt down the plastic and piece together two parts of the key. But there obviously was some support missing to make it work properly, so he combined the magnifying glass with the tool. Then he put the broken key under it.
In the plane he tried to open the compartment but the key didn't work - it was a bit deformed because of the welding. He used the glass shard to smoothen it and then open the locker without any problem. There wasn't much inside, but intuition told Brian to take the snowshoes.
He came back to the place where he found goggles and tried to climb the rock. Unfortunately, it was too slippery. Luckily, he had this anti-slippage spray so soon this problem was solved. He climbed up the branches and tried to see through the trees but half-way the lemur threw him down.
It looked that Brian needed to get rid of the animal before he moves on. He filled the capote puppy with water and put it in the place (seen on the screen above) where he found the lemur. At first, everything seemed to go well. The animal ran up to the puppy and drank the water, but soon it threw it to the quicksand.
Brian came up with an idea. He came back to the plane and get another puppy. This one he filled with whiskey and put it in the same place.
Lemur drank the whiskey and fell asleep. Brian took both animals (asleep and electronic) and climbed the rock again. Now nothing and no one stopped him from getting to the other side.
The jungle was in fact thin there but there was some unpleasant surprise waiting at the end of it. An old, rotten bridge which usually brakes down when characters from adventure movies want to cross it.
Brian decided not to come back to the dangerous jungle, full of wild animals. He left all useless objects in the bushes nearby (except lemur) and put the snowshoes on to spread the weight. Then he crossed the bridge.
Brian breathed again. At least a bit of civilization. Soon he noticed soldiers, tanks and military tents. Not much of a tropical, touristic paradise... What to do? Maybe at least somebody here has seen Gina.
When he approached the entrance to the camp, he was stopped. After a short talk the soldier contacted the headquarters and let Brian in so he could meet the colonel. In front of his tent, Brian found a military boy writing something in his notebook. When the boy went to inform the colonel (his father, by the way) about an unexpected guest, Brian could read the notes. They contained all orders given by commander. Interestingly, the handwriting of Leslie (that was the name of the boy) looked the same as Brian's. So he came up with an idea and wrote in the notebook to "release the girl who fell into the lake".
After a short while he was called inside the tent. The colonel proved himself to be a war and violence loving type of soldier. All attempts to get some information about Gina failed. Brian was only told out that the island is in state of emergency and there's nothing interesting for tourists right now. After the conversation he was send off to the entrance to the camp.
First Brian went to the right. A deserted road took him to the visitor's center of the island, called "Luala Beach". Surprisingly, in spite of no guests around, the bar was still open. There was pretty, a bit bored girl standing behind it. Her name was Lokelani and according to what she was saying, she had an amazing amount of boyfriends. As it turned out, most of the island inhabitants left as soon as it was occupied by the army. Apart of Lokelani, there were only four other persons left: surfer Kai (from the shaman descent), his student Knife with son Koala and strange, probably deaf monk. Brian was also told that the girl used to work in Hollywood as a make-up specialist. After ending the conversation, Brian look around the bar. He took a cigar holder and chalk board. He also observed a parrot but it didn't seem very friendly.
Brian was interested in the surfers Lokelani mentioned, so he decided to visit their place near the Alaula Cove. After getting there he talked with Knife and learned that his son Koala has just returned from the visitor's centre "Luala Beach". He found some video game console there and now he plays on it all the time. Thanks to that, his father have some time and peace. Knife is the owner of a motorboat which he uses to run after the waves to surf on. He won't borrow it to us because he wouldn't have how to practice his surfing skills. Another conversation Brian had with lying on the hammock Kai. He told him about his grandfather who has been a great shaman, specialized in curing and resurrecting the poultry.
Brian went left to the miniature dock and found the motorboat attached to it. He "borrowed" a toolbox lying nearby and got back to the surfers. Near the stairs to the hut he found a talcum powder (#1) and a rope (#2). After picking them up he went again to the visitor's centre.
Brian decided to find a way to leave the island first and then look for Gina, so they can sail away together. Since the plane was no longer available, he needed to find another mean of transport. For now, there was only a Knife's motorboat but he won't do away with his training equipment.
On the left side of the entrance to the main building he found a blocked trap to the basement. There was a green container next to it where he picked up a practically whole stick of butter.
Then he came across a bucking bronco standing on the beach. Unfortunately, it seemed to be broken. On the left side there was a trap door leading to the machinery. Brian tried to get inside, but he didn't succeed.
Then he took off to the surfers hut. He found a steel cable with a hook near the stairs but didn't manage to get it. He took a good look and found out that its other end was attached to the root of a tree, so he greased the cable with the butter to loosen it a little.
In front of the hut there was a sitting monk Lokelani mentioned. He wasn't talking but he was making a signs with his head. Brian decided to give him the board and the chalk to speed up the conversation.
Unfortunately, when it was getting really interesting and the monk mentioned something about the aliens, Brian run out of chalk. He needed to find another piece of it. He went to Lokelani but she said there was no more chalk left at the bar.
Behind the main building of the visitor's centre, Brian noticed a back of some car. When he came closer, he realized there was a military hummer and a soldier who didn't look very bright.
The soldier introduced himself as Zachariah O'Connor. Seeing Brian's clothes and behavior he thought that he was his commander in disguise who came to check how his inferior follows the orders. Brian used this misunderstanding to interrogate O'Connor. His task was to wait for professor Pignon and take him to the camp. He had his picture just in case of problems with identifying the passenger. Before he joined the army, O'Connor worked as a lumber jack. His previous profession is still useful when it comes to climbing fast the trees. He also told Brian how to make a chalk. He just needed to combine the arabic gum with the gypsum.
The powder was able to replace the gypsum and the cigar holder shape was good enough to be used as a form. Brian just needed to get a binding material. He took some sap from the palm tree nearby. The chalk was ready.
Then he got back to Lokelani and asked her about the bucking bronco. It turned out that it was broken from some time and need to be repaired. The girl also mentioned that it takes the good balance and the ability to foresight to ride on it. Brian recalled that these are the same skills that the ones required to be a good surfer. Maybe if he manage to repair the bucking bronco, Knife could use it as a training machine instead of the motorboat?
Brian got to the monk and gave him the chalk. The conversation could be continued. It turned out that the mysterious person is Joshua himself (Brian helped him last time to contact the aliens). He admitted that he has been sent by them and that he waited for a certain professor Simon. Brian proposed a deal. He will help Joshua to find the professor and in return Joshua will fix the bucking bronco.
When they reached the machine, Brian gave Joshua the toolbox and the butter that could be used as a grease. Now he needed to gain the source of power to the bronco.
All switches were surely in the blocked basement. Brian had to get inside it. He used the steel cable on the board of the basement entrance and tried to break it away. Unfortunately, he was too weak, so he needed some help.
He went to see O'Connor and asked him to climb up the tree. But the soldier refused saying that he has no rope. Luckily, Brian could give him one and Zachariah granted his request.
Seizing the opportunity, Brian took the photo of Pignon from the book ex-lumber jack was reading. Then he used the hummer to break away the board blocking the entrance to the basement. Fortunately, O'Connor was a bit hard of hearing and seeing so Brian managed to complete the job before he went down the tree.
The basement was open but there was dark inside. Brian turned on the lamp hanging down from the ceiling but it didn't make a big difference. In a room under the stairs, behind the giant crab, he found a metal detector. He looked at the circuit-breaker panel and worked on it a little.
In the meantime Joshua fixed the bucking bronco. Brian tried it - it worked well! Before he went to tell the good news to Knife, he picked up the butter. Maybe it will be useful again?
Now Knife had nothing against borrowing the motorboat to Brian. The transport was ready, so it's time to find Gina. Brian needed to get somehow to the military camp.
Brian decided to personate the professor Pignon who was supposed to be taken by O'Connor to the camp. Luckily, Lokelani told him she knew how to do a make-up and had a makeover software.
Brian planned to personate the man on the right side of the photo. It turned out that in order to make the software work, there had to be two pictures. The photo of Pignon was already in Brian's possession (he took it from O'Connor when he was climbing the tree).
There was a beachside photo stand nearby that could be used to make a photo of Brian, but first he had to gain coins or tokens to make it run. Lokelani advised to look in the sand because the tourists often was loosing theirs at that place.
Brian was too big to fit under the platform, but the lemur (now called Little Devil) was perfect for this job. He found a token but didn't want to give it to Brian unless he gets a beer.
Brian didn't have money to buy one, but Lokelani proposed they play a little game. He was supposed to answer the questions about her former boyfriends (Milo, Lopati, Tiroo, Russell). Now he could exchange the beer for the token.
Brian went back to the basement, turned off the power from the visitor's centre and plugged it to the Photo-Pix. He put the token inside, ask Lokelani to join him and made a fine Hawaiian photo souvenir.
Brian gave both pictures to Lokelani so she could make a computer analysis. She left her parrot and the bar under his care. Bored Brian decided to look for another bottle of beer, but at the sound of word "beer" Little Devil jumped out and scared Aolani to fly to the palm tree.
When Lokelani came back and found out that her parrot was missing, she was offended. Brian needed to find Aolani and mollify girl so she could help him with personating the professor.
Suddenly he heard the parrot's call and followed it. He got to the O'Connor's hummer and noticed that the bird is on the top of the tree Zachariah was climbing on before. He asked him to get Aolani from there (in the meantime, he put back the photo of Pignon to the book), but the soldier was too careless and the parrot gave up the ghost.
Brian couldn't come back to Lokelani with the parrot in this condition but he recalled the old surfer whose ancestors were shamans. More than that, his grandfather specialized in resurrecting poultry. Maybe the grandson could bring the parrot to life?
Brian ran to Kai. Surfer said that bringing the parrot back to life was possible but first he needed to find his grandfather hut located somewhere north on the island. Besides, Koala mislaid his bogus leg and he cannot walk without it.
There was no problem with finding the bogus leg. Brian looked at the sand turtle and searched its environs using the metal detector. Finding the hut wasn't so easy.
Then he came up with a strange idea. There was no point for him to search the building by himself - he doesn't know the jungle, he doesn't know the island. He might get lost in the thicket. It's better to get some help from the army and its equipment. How could he made them to do it? While they won't listen to the civilian, they will surely follow the order of the colonel.
Brian went toward the camp and by the entrance he communicated he wanted to see the commander. Soon he was in his tent and taking advantage of the moment, he quickly wrote a note in Leslie's notebook that he should localize a single hut somewhere northwest on the island.
His visit at the colonel's place was short but after he found himself by the checkpoint, he asked for it again. He waited a bit overhearing a conversation between Leslie and his father. At the end of it, attentive son told colonel the GPS coordinates of the hut. Brian noted them, entered the tent and finished talking with the soldier as fast as he could.
Wondering how to gain a GPS, Brian reached O'Connor. Zachariah admitted that he lost it while running after some kid. Brian quickly put two and two together - he was talking about Koala and his "video game console".
He went to the Knife's hut and looked at the boy's toy. Indeed, it was the GPS. Unfortunately, kid didn't want to cooperate and Brian had to use the lemur. During the struggle, GPS fell out the window. Brian picked it up and used the coordinates on it. Soon he was right before the witch doctor hut.
He entered the hut and look around the fascinating interior. He noticed a throne, a shrine and turtle shells. He took one of them. Then he returned to Kai, gave him his bogus leg and talked about hut he found. They went there together.
To prepare the ritual, they needed one more element - Grimarium, the book of spells that belonged to the Kai's grandfather. The old surfer decided to visit the astral area and ask the shaman about it. Meanwhile, he told Brian to look around. Brian also found out that the book had a metal cover and should be with person's body.
Right to the hut there was a small cemetery. Brian used the metal detector and found the old shaman grave. Using the turtle shell as a shovel, he dig the tomb and get the book. After a little while, Aolani was flying as always.
When Lokelani saw the parrot, she smiled and willingly turned Brian into professor Pignon. Our hero in disguise went to see O'Connor who took him to the military camp. Meanwhile, the real professor appeared. Luckily, the girl took care of him.
The disguise was working, but there was no way to look freely around the camp. Colonel Kordsmeier ordered to bring professor to the temple to work on some mysterious project called A.M.E.B.A. Brian needed to activate this machine first if he wanted to look for Gina.
Right after he found himself in a room with computer, Brian tried to evacuate using the passage on the right. At the doorsill he was stopped by the colonel voice from the loud-speaker. It turned out, that he's observed by the surveillance camera at center of the platform. He had to do something with it.
On a table standing near the exit to the right Brian found an ultra strong plastic bag. He looked at the computer and a suitcase lying on the desk. It was locked, no surprise. On the left, near the boxes, there was a socket cam. He took it.
Brian noticed a ladder leading to the platform. He decided to act quickly so that his disappearance from the camera eyeshot didn't alarm Kordsmeier. He climbed up and went to the spot where the surveillance camera was put. He looked at it and then went to the left side of the platform where he found a duct tape. Then he stuck his camera on the spying one. He recorded a short film showing professor working at the desk. Now the colonel won't see the real picture.
Now Brian could look around the area. First he entered the room on the left. There he saw an amazing view - big, transparent cube with some sphere inside looking like a bowling ball. He also noticed that the strange thing has a rectangular slot. There was nothing more to do here, so Brian came back to the main hall and then went to the right.
He found himself in a room with statue and two exits. First, he tried the one in the middle. Unfortunately, the way was blocked by some strange guards dressed in black. What to do? He turned back.
He tried the exit to the right and found himself finally outside. Unfortunately, after a while, ne noticed a familiar car O'Connor standing by it. The soldier told professor to get back inside and gave him an envelope from Lokelani.
Brian went back to the main hall and opened the envelope. Inside there was a ring with the same symbol as the one on the suitcase. He touched the suitcase with it - it worked! Inside he found an electronic card, catalyzing glove, sunglasses, and an unidentified object which looked like a neutralizer from Men in Black.
He went back to O'Connor but the soldier uncovered him. Brian wanted to neutralize Zachariah, but the neutralizer didn't work. Instead, three small marbles falls out of it. Still as the commander in disguise, Brian ordered O'Connor to be silent about him.
Brian went to the room with the cube. He inserted the card to the slot. The protection disappeared. "Bowling ball" was very heavy. He put three marbles into the holes in it. The object rose and Brian saw a hand imprint. He put on the glove and touched the sphere. Two miniature black holes appeared in the air! When he tried to touch the one on the left, his hand shown in the other one. It looked like some kind of magic, so he gave up it for now. It's better to know what you're dealing with. He came back to the main hall and read professor Simon notes from the computer.
After a little while, A.M.E.B.A. held no secrets anymore. Brian drew even a scheme of its functioning. To make a long story short, it teleports a person or an object from point A to point B, while point B can be in any place that the operator concentrates on.
It's time to give it a try. Brian went back to the room with the sphere. He used the card and the glove again and selected Aluala cove.
Soon he could see what was happening near the hut of Knife and Kai. Koala and lemur were playing some kind of ping-pong while Joshua was sitting under the tree. Brian talked with him and asked about A.M.E.B.A. It turned out that the monk knew the machine because it has been used by the aliens to transport him from the space ship to the Earth. When Joshua went into particulars, Brian stopped the contact.
Brian decided to look at the cove again. Soon he was a witness of a dental operation performed on Little Devil. Then he returned to the main hall.
He climbed up the ladder and went along the platform toward a giant statue. He noticed a control panel on the way, but he needed a key to activate it.
Maybe an old friend could help him? He came back to the teleport again and using card and glove connected with Joshua. He asked about the operation and requested dental instruments. Unfortunately, he lost his glove by the way. He used acquired tools on the control panel and turned on the motorized platform. It rose close to the statue mouth.
Brian climbed up inside the statue Tiki head. There he found remains of some poor guy overwhelmed by a big stone ball. Under his hat there was a small tarantula. From the bag lying nearby (#1) he took Stechazol (a substance used to scare off the snakes). Another found object on the left was a whip (#2).
Brian went to the right to examine the rest of the statue interior. He reached an opening and saw a blonde woman in red leather called Tarantula and the colonel. They were talking about a certain John Doe and Trantonite rocks. They also mentioned some woman in the lake. According to Tarantula, she has drowned.
Brian figured it was Gina they were talking about but he didn't believe she was dead. Besides, Joshua said there was a alien space ship at the bottom of the lake. She surely found a way to scramble out.
He found out of the conversation that the colonel already knew about the spy inside the camp. He also heard the complaints of Tarantula - one of her spiders, Adelina, run away from the terrarium. It surely hid in some smelly place because tarantulas love only decomposed meat.
Brian decided to take a second look at the interior of the temple. He looked through the opening and saw many armed guards dressed in black. He also noticed a big, metal construction which looked like roman Coliseum, a terrarium and a box near it (#1) with gloves inside. They looked like the catalyzing glove that was lost.
He needed to get one of them. There was Tarantula standing there though. He decided to take advantage of the Adelina to take off the woman attention.
Brian captured the spider to the plastic bag and wanted to throw it through the opening. But Adelina could run straight to the terrarium! There had to be another way to lead it on the other direction. He knew tarantula loves the smell. What about Stenchazol?
Brian left the statue and get down the ladder. He went to the room to the right and tried to use Stenchazol on the passage where he met the guards earlier. Unfortunately, the old bottle couldn't open. Dental probe appeared helpful. He left Stenchazol in the passage and came back to the statue interior.
He threw the spider through the opening and taking advantage of the confusion, took the glove. Meanwhile he found out that Kordsmeier learned about Pignon being Brian. He needed to get out the camp as soon as possible.
He looked again through the opening and saw a Tarantula's walkie talkie by the terrarium. He ran to it and took the device.
After leaving the statue head Brian found out that Tarantula and colonel were waiting for him at the bottom. He needed to find another way. He noticed a broken earring on the left of the giant Tiki statue and decided to play Indiana Jones. He used the whip on it. Now he needed only a distraction.
He recalled that O'Connor was using a lot of two-way radio lately. He contacted him through the walkie talkie and ordered to run inside screaming that the professor Pignon is escaping. Zachariah followed Brian's order and now the boy could leave the camp using the teleport. After a little while, he was riding the Knife's motorboat with Joshua.
Some time has passed. Brian and Joshua went to see mysterious professor Simon. He has left the civilization and lived in snowy Alaska wilderness. Unfortunately, when they reached the spot, Joshua ate some strange kind of berries and lost his memory. It wasn't the best moment because he just was about to tell the password to enter the professor's possession. They call it bad luck.
Brian took Joshua to a deserted hut nearby. He got firewood out of box, sat Joshua by it and decided to find a cure for his sick friend.
There was no point talking with Joshua, he was in his own world at the moment. Brian took a firewood from the bin at the foot of the bunk bed (#3), a knife from the drawer (#1), an oil dispenser from the fireplace mantle (#2) and an empty gas tank from the corner. He left the shelter.
Continuing along the path, he got to a man dressed in bear fur. After a short talk he found out that the man's name was Ben Wazowski and he was a polar bear researcher. He told Brian how these animals fish with their claws and showed him a collection of bear essences. He also told he knew professor Simon and - what's most important - that the cure for memory loss was eating a raw salmon. Luckily, there were many of them in the river nearby.
After returning to the hut, Brian tried to talk with Joshua but he didn't respond until he heard about the destruction of planet Trantor. The shock therapy worked. Now Brian needed to convince him to eat a raw fish. Joshua didn't want to hear about it, but he admitted that he has Japanese blood in him. Somehow, Brian managed to persuade him to eat a sushi.
Brian left the hut and went to talk with Ben. He learned that the only two persons who might know how prepare sushi were professor's Simon cook (he had a free day) and Archibald - a mad guy living in the forest, considered to be a serial killer by some. Wazowski told Brian how Archibald came to his hut because he couldn't bear that Ben singed out of tune.
Brian went to the river and turned halfway toward Ben's tower top cabin seen afar. He climbed up the ladder and looked around the room. He picked up a chainsaw and a hockey stick. He also noticed a guitar which got him an idea. He tried to play and sing but as he wasn't a born musician, soon a music lover Archibald went off the forest.
As it turned out, he was a great cook who decided to hide from the civilization in the solitude. He agreed to prepare sushi, but Brian needed to pay him thousand dollars, find chopsticks, salmon, nori algae and bamboo mat. On parting Archibald gave Brian a whistle which he was supposed to use after he gets all ingredients.
Brian came back to the hut and took the bamboo mat from the door. Then he went outside to the terrace and picked up a bottle of bleach thrown earlier by Archibald. On the right he noticed a barrel with a rubber tube on top of it. He came back inside and looked at the little bottles on the right. It were bear essences Ben mentioned about. He took pheromones of female bear in heat bottle and went down the ladder. There he used an axe and firewood to make chopsticks.
He went back to Ben's observation post and looked close at the plant with leaves similar to seaweed. Now he had another ingredient - "algs".
Now Brian just needed to get a salmon. First he had to drill a blowhole. He had chainsaw but he needed also a mixture of oil and gasoline to make it run. There was some oil in dispenser found in the hut but there was no gas station around to get the other component.
Brian went back to the hut where he left Joshua but instead of getting inside, he walked along its wall. He found a truck with a moose statue on it. He used a gas tank to drain the gas. Then he added the oil from the dispenser and filled the chainsaw with it.
With working chainsaw he drilled a blowhole left to the place where Ben stood. Suddenly, a bear came off the forest and unceremoniously took the hole.
Before he could catch a salmon, Brian needed to get rid of the bear. He came back to the car and using the chainsaw he cut the moose statue head off. Then he used the bleach to change it to white and the knife to cut holes in it.
Knowing that Ben has the rest of the costume, Brian gave him the head. Researcher was delighted. He decided to use his disguise right away and fraternize with the bear sitting by the river. He changed, sprayed himself with essence of wild bear and ran to meet the animal. Meanwhile, Brian secretly changed the bottle in his backpack to the one containing pheromones of female bear. Soon Ben returned without success and Brian encouraged him to try again. This time new smell made a huge impression on bear. When they both went to the forest to start a new life, Brian could finally use the blowhole.
On the surface of frozen river, Brian noticed a bear claw left by Ben. Using the hockey stick he got it and using a natural way of bear fishing put on the same stick to catch a salmon.
All ingredients were ready so he could call the chief. He went to the ladder going up to Ben's cabin and used the whistle (in the place marked on the screen). Archibald came out the woods and took the objects. Brian asked him to deliver sushi to the hut where Joshua was but the cook didn't want to agree without a bribe (Brian's cell phone).
Consumed dish had Joshua back on his feet instantly. He was so happy that he started to jump and dance without paying much attention where he goes. Soon he landed on an ice floe and floated to the middle of the lake.
Brian ran to the truck because he recalled it was equipped with cable-winch. He tried to turn it but without success. He looked under the hood using the hockey stick to make easy checking the engine. Soon he learned that there was a sparkplug missing.
He used the knife to jerk out a working sparkplug from the chainsaw and put it in the engine. This time everything was OK. The cable winch helped to rescue Joshua.
There was now nothing to prevent Brian and Joshua from reaching the professor Simon's house. Joshua remembered the password so after a little while they were inside. The scientist told Brian about the aliens from planet Trantor. This powerful civilization was helping humans from a long time asking for discretion and animal species for their intergalactic zoo in exchange.
During one of the operations the aliens saved Simon's life thanks to the antimatter generator, NG-Zero. Kordsmeier saw this and from that moment he desired the machine badly. The downed ship was kept hostage by him in exchange for the generator.
Aliens asked professor Simon to help them in getting tratonite - a stone being a powerful source of energy. They also mentioned about a woman wounded with a shot found at the bottom of the lake. They couldn't cure her for lack of energy, but they managed to keep her in suspension.
Brian decided to ask for help his old friend - Sushi Douglas. He contacted her using Simon's notebook and told her all the story. Meanwhile, Tarantula with soldiers came near the professor's house. Thanks to the secret passage shown by the host, Brian and Joshua could escape.
Brian woke up on the board of some ship. His head was hurting and his memory was lost. The last thing he remembered was getting to the dock with Joshua.
He looked at the door to the right. It required a code to be opened. He didn't want to do the guesswork so he went to the left. He passed the entrance to the Neptune room. There was a cylindrical tube left of the diving suit. It was the elevator and Brian reached the bridge.
Up there was Sushi waiting for him. She told she has been looking for information about trantonite. It turned out that the stone was found a few centuries ago and was used by famous pirate, Inigo Malantuneza y Gonion. His ship, Orion, was undefeated thanks to that. At least for some time. According to the notes found in the library, it was sunk by English fleet in 1564. Probably, tratonite sank with it as well. Sushi calculated the coordinates of Orion's wreck. It was within 80 square miles of where they were now. Her ship was equipped with sonar which supposed to localize the exact spot. Brian knew he couldn't wait as long. He had to speed up the search at any cost. Sushi also gave him the code to the door under the board (0512).
He went to the terrace where he found his old friend - Rutger who told him the reason of memory loss. It was the side effect of herbi-doze berries Rutger gave Brian so he could sleep. Then Brian looked around and found a broom and a bag of sand. First he wanted to put it back but Rutger insisted that he kept it. Brian tried also to pick up a telepathic helmet beside his lounge chair but his current owner didn't want to give it away.
Brian returned to the bridge and went down the elevator. He entered the Neptune room and talked with Saturn, the second of Sushi's companions. He found out from the conversation that trantonite generates a lot of neutrinos. Brian suggested that the inventor constructed a neutrino detector so they could localize the lost ship without much problem. Saturn agreed. He even recalled an article he read lately about it but it was missing. It was probably taken by Camille, French student who accompanied Dean Grassick, popular traveler with his own TV program. He agreed to dive for the sank galleon.
To make the neutrino detector, Saturn needed the telepathic helmet, a fresh water tank and the article they were talking about. Brian took on finding these objects.
Brian exited the room and went to the secured door. He used the code Sushi gave him and entered inside. Then he talked with Camille.
Brian found a fire hydrant on the wall and water hose in closed glass case - they could be used to fill the water tank. He went downstairs and witnessed shooting of Grassick new program episode. It wasn't a pleasant view. During the break, he spoke with Dean. He turned out to be a stuck-up turkeycock and Brian didn't like him. He doubted that Grassick managed to dive to the sunk ship.
He came back upstairs and opened the door at the back using the keypad. He got to the cargo hold room. There was a big tank and overhead deck hatch. He went downstairs and opened the shut off valve left of the tank to make it empty. Now he needed to fill it with fresh water.
On the right Brian noticed a red button opening the door to the second cargo hold room. Unfortunately, after pressing it the passage closed immediately. He used the broom to block the door and then he could search inside. What he found was not very impressive - a bag of white plastic ties. He took it anyway.
Now it's time to get the key to the water hose. Brian asked Sushi and she gave it to him. He came back to take it and learned that the object was gone.
He talked with Camille about her origin. When he learned that the girl was from French he said how great wine her fatherland produces. Camille admitted that she even took two bottles with her for Dean, but he turned out to be a teetotaler.
Brian went downstairs, passed the film set and turned right. He reached the storage room, took two diving tubes from the box and tied them using the plastic ties. He got more tubes and made a makeshift hose. He tried it on the hydrant and seeing it worked, went to look for remaining objects.
Brian had to persuade Rugter to give him his telepathic helmet. The best way is to cheer him up. Maybe few warm words from Saturn could make it? The problem was that the two of them didn't like each other too much so Brian must play interpreter.
He asked Saturn what would he like to tell to his "friend". Saturn sent a message: He's got so much nerve it won't fit inside his hat. Brian went to the bridge, then deck and told to Rutger a new translation of Saturn's message: That his hat is off to you, and not to pout. Rutger sent a message to Saturn: His techno-art is so sadly sad that it ain't good even to put above a toilet. Brian talked to Saturn: He's sad that your techno-art doesn't get more deserved air time on TV. Saturn sent a message to Rutger: In order to like reggae, you have to be daffier than a duck and waddle like one too. Brian told Rutger: When he listens to reggae, that he gets so happy he starts to flap his wings like a duck. Rutger sent a message to Saturn: I guess I'm supposed to feel sorry for sayin' only jerks with blue hair go to the Burning Man Festival! Brian told Rutger's message this way: He feels like a wacko for not having gone to the Burning Man Festival with you. Saturn sent a message to Rutger: The Jamaican bobsled team won't win the Olympics even if it secretly uses doping! Brian told Rutger a new translation of Saturn's message: The day Jamaica wins the bobsled medal, he'll buy you an Olympic-sized bong.
Now Rutger felt kindly towards Saturn and to show his appreciation for Brian's help, he gave him the telepathic helmet.
Now Saturn had all required objects to construct the neutrino detector. Thanks to the machine, the location of the trantonite was finally known.
In the last moment, Dean back out of diving so Brian had to take up the role of underwater explorer. He dived twice and checked the wreck but it was hard to say whether the stone was still placed in the figure on the galleon, as Sushi expected. It all was covered in lichen.
Before Brian could dive again, he had to find something to clean the figurehead. He decided to search the cargo hold room and found a saw in the toolbox. He used it to cut door blocking broom. Now he had a makeshift brush.
He couldn't left the room though because the password to open the door was not working. He went downstairs and contacted Sushi by the intercom. She was angry with Joshua because he messed the security system of the ship and deleted all passwords. She needed to regain control first.
Brian didn't want to wait so long so he pressed red button opening the cargo room door. Then he climbed up the ladder next to the tank and went outside. He heard Sushi yelling at Joshua for opening the hatches but decided not to put her right.
This time he managed to clean the figure. Unfortunately, it was empty inside. Sushi suggested that the captain could have hidden trantonite in his cabin but its door was closed.
Brian returned to the surface and found out that Joshua was still going mad. He was last seen as he was trying to open a box in the second cargo hold room with the crowbar. Sushi asked Brian to calm Joshua down. He agreed and thought that the crowbar might be just what he needed to open the door on the wreck.
Brian needed a ladder to climb up.Brian went down to cargo hold. The passage to the other room was locked. Pressing the red button allowed him to look inside. He noticed the crowbar lying there and the door closed. Then he opened the hatch by using the red panel left of the intercom. He learned that the ladder he was using earlier to get out, was missing.
He exited the room and went to the terrace. There was Rutger there. He was complaining about the noise caused by Joshua on the roof. Brian tried to talk him out of destroying the antennae, but without much success.
He went right to deck and looked down the second cargo hold but couldn't jump down. He came back to main deck, went down the elevator and then to see Saturn. He found out from the conversation that the scientist is currently working on electro magnets. Brian borrowed two of them which were already made and used to climb the wall and get to the other cargo hold room. Soon he possessed the crowbar.
Brian dived again. This time the door yielded and he could swim into the cabin. In this moment contact with him was stopped and the darkness fell.
Brushian Bharscough was put in fetters and imprisoned by Malantunez. He was just taken from the dungeon to the cabin of the captain. Nobody knew that he was the commander of British ship chasing the famous pirate. Before the attack, Brushian had to find a hidden beacon of Avernus ("hell" in Latin). This mysterious artifact supposed to make Orion impossible to sink. But first he needed to remove his shackle.
Brushian looked around. There was another prisoner in the room - a woman writing in some book. He managed to take a dagger-letter opener and paperweight from the table. Then he looked at the shackle. Its construction was so simple that he just needed a nail to open it. Unfortunately, the dagger was too broad.
Brushian noticed a nail on the post left to the girl. This was what he needed to remove his shackles. He started to talk with her. Camille, as he found out, was the ship scribe. He threw her the dagger and asked to took the nail. Soon Brushian was free.
Camille asked him to check whether there was a dinghy outside. Brushian in fact found one. There won't be any problem in getting out the pirate ship as soon as he gets the beacon.
Brushian came back outside and heard two pirates talking. One of them claimed that he had a magic jug of grog that refills itself. The conversation was stopped because someone was coming. Seamen lowered the empty grog bottle above the right window near where Brushian was standing. Since the grog ended, the other pirate refused to share his sunflower seeds.
Brushian looked at the sunflower seed remains and searched through it. He found three seeds. He also noticed that the windowsill on the right was about to fall. He helped it a bit using the dagger. Soon he had another nail and the board. He came back to the cabin.
There he talked with a parrot. It was able to repeat Malantunez words and knew some tips about the location of the beacon. When Brushian gave it sunflower seeds, it said only: "Left from Spain to the East, set sail; Empire of the Rising Sun...". He needed more seeds to get more information.
He walked to the big globe and span it. He noticed that in certain moment it clicked. It was sure some kind of mechanism and directions were the keys to solve the riddle.
He found some certificates in the cabinet on the right but didn't feel like taking any. He took an empty jug from the map table and seven tailed dragon's tongue from the jar on the right. It was very stretchy.
Then Brushian went outside. Russian Mongrel was guarding the door and he had to came back to the cabin. He tied the seven tailed dragon's tongue to the bars of the door and used it as a slingshot to launch the paperweight. The guardian was knocked out and Brushian was free to go.
Brushian took the paperweight from the hallway floor and looked around. He noticed a cask by the wall which contained fresh water, scourge of every real, dirty pirate.
He looked at the skeleton ornamental pirate and tried to open the door near it. He was attacked with the sword but managed to block the blade using the board. Soon his opponent was overpowered. He entered inside and found an unconscious lemur - Demon Dog. He took him and went deep into the room. He reached the treasury and got the golden idol of Dosicua.
Brushian went right to the passageway corner and reached an office of the pirate named Husky Hound. He told him a story about his amazing escape and Husky believed it. It turned out that he's not only the guardian of the dungeon but also gave out certificates and the daily ration of grog to the pirates.
Brushian couldn't get grog unless he had a Certificate for Pirates with Low Moral Standing. To get the certificate, he needed to pass three tests: Act of Extreme Cruelty, Proof of Plundering and Pillaging test and History of Classical Ruffianism.
At first he decided to pass the cruelty test. He went back to the passageway, looked at the barrel with water and tried to put lemur in it. He couldn't do it tough but recalled the rumors that the water changed its properties after blending with different substances.
He returned to the Husky office and searched the cabinet left to it. He found a soap there and decided to make an experiment. He threw it inside the cask and washed Devil Dog then. That way he got a shining clean lemur. He showed the animal to the pirate. The first test was passed. He gave Husky Hound the golden idol taken from the treasure room and the second one was all over as well.
The third test was the toughest one. It consisted of few questions. Because Brushian was familiar with history of piracy, he answered without problem:
1. Who was the ship's cook in the famous crew of the ill-fated Captain Flint? Long John Silver.
2. What was the original trade of Cap'n Blood, which was convenient for someone wantin' to become a bloodthirsty pirate? Doctor.
3. How did Captain Swallow escape from the island Captain Babossa abandoned him for the first time? By inventing turtle surfing as everyone knows.
At the end, there was a simple math problem to solve. Brushian answered: Henry Wobblins can reach the port in half a day. Diego el Cojuelo can reach the port in a day. Jean David L'Eclope can reach the port in 2,5 days. Joao de Passoromo can reach the port in 5 days.
Now the formalities. Brushian went back to the cabin of the captain and took a proper certificate from the cabinet. He gave it to Husky got his legally daily ration of grog right to the jug.
With the Certificate for Pirates with Low Moral Brushian had no objections to rob the treasury. Soon he got a voucher for huge treasure and a funnel in addition.
He went to the cabin and then outside. He tried to reach the hanging bottle but it was too high. He used the board and nails to make a new windowsill. Then he filled the jug with his ration of grog.
The bottle refilled itself magically and the pirates start snacking on sunflower seeds again. That's was it all about. Brushian entered inside and came back in a moment. Then he managed to find five sunflower seeds.
He came back to the parrot, gave it all seeds and learned all tips. Then he walked to the globe and started turning it: starting from Spain he turned the globe around back to Spain to hear a click. Then he turned right-east to Japan (click). Then he turned left-west to Newfoundland (click). Then he turn right-east to Greece.
The bottom of the globe opened and Brian got a shiny red Beacon of Avernus. Suddenly, Malantunez came in and chopped Brushian's head off. Brian woke up from the daze.
Few minutes later, trantonite landed in Sushi's team hands. Now Brian needed "only" to recapture the ship from the colonel, encounter the sadistic Tarantula and outsmart the whole army. He sighted. It was only the beginning.
