Fable Franchise to Become Cross-Media Experience

Microsoft and Lionhead, the companies behind the successful RPG series, Fable, has recently announced their plans to bring the franchise closer to the consumer.

In this, they are planning to produce a heck of a lot of new products related to the gaming series, such as books set in Albion, toys and figurines, clothing, companion apps and guides, maybe even spin-off series.

By doing this, the company hope to improve Fable’s popularity, by providing consumer products that will hopefully increase interest in the series as a whole. Personally, I have no issue in this! One Fable book already exists that I have read, and I have to say it was quite a good read.

Many gamers are against this idea, arguing that the game has been going downhill since its first instalment. True, Fable 2 and Fable 3 did not compare with the original, but hey, if selling related products helps them raise enough money to develop a new, better game, then I’m all for it!
