Heroes Of The Storm: Abathur Death Hat Build Guide

Heroes of the Storm is in full swing and bringing in a ton of new players each and every day. Many gamers are curious about which characters to play and which builds to use in order to get maximum efficiency out of playing the character. One new guide explains how to completely wreck opponents using Abathur’s Death Hat build.

The purpose of being a Hat is mostly to buff teammates and help them to kill fast and efficient. Abathur as a Death Hat build is purely a support build, but it helps give teammates massive buffs to basically wreck opponents with ease.

If you’re completely unfamiliar with Abathur there’s a quick guide from Squadron that explains the basic concept and play functions behind the character, as well as a brief look at his core Q,W,E skills and master abilities. You can check it out below, it’s only five minutes and useful for those who have never been properly acquainted with Abathur.

Now, it’s time to move on to the actual Death Hat build.

If you’ve become familiarized with the core tenets of how to play Abathur, you’ll need to learn to master his symbiotic ability with teammates and the ability to basically play as a shoulder-devil on allies that constantly punishes and damages enemies without the character itself actually taking any damage.

As mentioned in the video below from FightingCowboy, focusing on play as a Hat and building a dangerous Hat build basically turns every hero fight into a two-on-one situation. You can see the video guide featuring the Death Hat build below.

According to FightingCowboy, he suggests starting with Pressurized Glands, which increases the range of the Symbiote’s spike burst by 25% and decreases cooldown by 1 second. This comes into play later on in the fight.

At level 7 he suggests going with Needlespine and moving onto level 13, he mentions that for ranged heroes you plan to Hat, you’ll want to go with Special Efficiency. For melee heroes you’ll want to go with Soma Transference at level 13

Envenomed Spikes at level 16 for melee, Adrenaline Boost for ranged allies.

Later on he mentions that if you took Pressurized Glands at the start, then you’ll want Adrenaline Boost to further maximize the skill on the battlefield.

For level 20, it’s all about Hivemind. This talent makes Abathur very dangerous on the battlefield, since it makes where casting a Symbiote creates an additional Symbiote on a nearby ally. This allows you to theoretically Hat two allies at once. It mimics the commands of the first Symbiote so for maximum efficiency you’ll want the second one spawned on an ally that benefits just the same as the hero with the first Symbiote on it. Be warned, though, if both players move too far away from each other the second Symbiote will despawn.
