PES 2012 – Master League Online Walkthrough [Guide]

The goal in Pro Evolution Soccer 2012′s Master League Online mode is to build a successful team of football players that will compete for honor and prizes. It is similarly setup to the original Master League game, and you get to buy players and sell ones that you don’t wish to keep. It has the option of going for an official team, but the real challenge of the game comes from domination using a team you built from scratch! This article will include a few tips on how to go far in the game.

Build a Winning Team
Patience is part of the game. You cannot expect to start the game and immediately dominate the boards. It is common that the default squad has no outstanding players and is quite unimpressive. In this version, the players have contracts. You have the option to sign new players, and release players that are not contributing to the team.

The players have different contract lengths, or a number of games remaining. Renewing a player’s contract is usually expensive, hence it is advisable to wait for the contracts to expire and then subsequently sell. You may then opt to buy better players and replacements, often at a much cheaper contract rate. You have the option between signing a 10 game contract, a 20 game contract or a 50 game contract. The longer contracts obviously cost more, but may be a better buy in the long run. Use the longer contracts for players who you think would have the most positive impact to the team’s performance.

Players who are in the market have varied forms as indicated by the colored arrows. A player with better form has more strength, skill or stamina, and will often come at a steeper contract price. Form changes on a daily basis, and may go up or down. Like stocks, it is bet to buy at a low price, and sell at a higher price so as to gain a profit. Timing is very important, and buying players at the right time may be critical to creating an unbeatable team!

The community will give you an idea as to who is increasing in value and who is owned by a lot of players. This market basically dictates who is worth buying and who should be disposed of.

Practice and Compete!
The first week of playing will be the hardest, but this will get better as your team improves. Divisions will not be setup at this point, and you may be pitted against teams that are more seasoned than you. Take this time to familiarize yourself with the game and slowly build your winning team. Expect to lose, but learn from the experience. Wait for the leagues to be announced so you can change your settings to “play people of the same ability.” This way, you get to avoid being butchered by teams far more superior than yours, and will get the chance to play on an equal playing field.

Playing in competitions would make you earn money at a better rate. It is important to make sure, however, that your contracts are up to date and renewed. It would be a shame to lose a game because your star player is unable to play due to an expired contract. You will need to come out of the competition in order for you to renew.

Practice is the most important aspect of the game. There are training challenges that would help your game skills and it would be very beneficial to complete these. Learn how to defend; parking the bus or playing defensively the entire game is the one thing that can help you defeat a more superior team. The formation of your team needs to be tight. Using the “technique” style would improve touches, and stopping players from swapping positions would help reduce fatigue. Play the offensive game when your team has gained new and more skilled players.

Additional Tips
There is a little bar under the form arrow and energy gauge which indicates fatigue. This is accumulated after each game and has a direct impact to the energy bar. An empty energy bar will render the players useless and unable to sprint. Rotating the players would help maintain a good fatigue and energy bar level, and will allow your players to play at their optimal levels.

Another trick is keeping Ettori in your team. He is a very competitive player and is able to pass and score. He also maintains grace under pressure. Other players that you may want to retain are Rusin and El Moubarki, who are standard full backs. Keep this in mind when buying and selling players and maintaining a good team.

Aim at having a solid player for every position, and make sure to have enough backups in case form and fatigue start to affect them. Invest in good names like Ronaldo and Messi when you get the resources, but make sure to look at their form upon signing.

Final Words
Success is hard earned and may take time in this game. It will be very challenging at the start, but quite rewarding once you achieve victory with a well rounded team that you created. Pay your dues, and at some point you will be the “strong player” that the newbie’s will be scared of.
