If you are a player of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, then you already know that there are a lot of locked treasure chests that you will need to open in order to get all the goodies from inside. In order to open the chests, you will need to play a mini-unlocking game before you are able to get all the nice stuff it contains.
It is not easy to open locked chests, but you should not waste your time doing this and this is why, today, we’re going to tell you how to open them without having to waste too much time. Once you become a master of the basic concept, you will notice that you will be able to unlock chests with ease and move on to the higher level locks.
So, in case you are new to chest hunting you want to unlock chests in The Elder Scrolls Online, here are some tips that will help improving your skills in opening chests.
The Elder Scrolls Online: unlocking chests with ease
In order to pick a lock on any of the chests in The Elder Scrolls Online, you will just need to interact with the chest and the lock will appear on the screen. You will need to sidestep the five pin tumblers without damaging the lockpick. To make things even tougher, The Elder Scrolls Online’s developers have set a limited amount of time. With other words, once you are out of time, the mini-game ends.
While unlocking a simple chest, you will get a 25 seconds timer. However, when trying to unlock a Master chest, you will need to do it in only 12 seconds! Keep in mind that practice makes it perfect and you will need to get used to the unlocking process before trying to unlock Master chests.
In order to start the unlocking process, you will need to press and hold each of the required buttons to push each of the tumblers down. This is a pretty annoying process, which will require you to hit the right buttons at the right time. You will need to wait until the controller will start vibrating. When it starts vibrating, you will need to hit the required button and if it’s done correctly, the tumbler will grow darker and will remain in a downward position. As soon as you notice the tumbler darker, you will be able to move to the next one.
Keep in mind that if you don’t hit the required buttons in time, the lockpick will break and the tumbler will re-tune. In case you don’t get it on the first attempt, try again, because as we said above, practice makes it perfect.
