Battle Quest: Rise of Heroes is a new not-so-endless runner RPG for the iPhone and iPad. The gameplay takes its cues from games such as Temple Run, but the gameplay is unique. You run through stages with your goal being to complete a number of quests, such as going a certain distance or defeating a boss monster. Read on for some tips and tricks for Battle Quest: Rise of Heroes!
As you use each character in stages, you’ll gain experience levels, which strengthens your characters. Experience points are not doled out evenly, however. The more you use one character in a run, the more experience they will gain, so use one particular character if you have a favorite. If you don’t, but would instead prefer to level up your characters evenly, then try to use them evenly or pick one character per run, switching characters for your next run.
Every time that you pick a new item up and reveal it, make sure to check your equipment to see if that item is stronger than your current ones, and thus, is worth equipping. Most are weaker, but a stronger one comes along every once in awhile, and can be a huge aid in a tough run.
Don’t always spend your gold on revealing new items; oftentimes (in fact, most of the time) the new items/weapons/armor will be weaker than what you already have equipped and you can’t sell old items. Instead, save your gold so that you can enhance your current weapons and armor. You’ll generally know if an item is worth it if it costs a lot of gold to reveal (compared to most of what you find). Then, generally, it will be rarer.
Battles/runs do get quite difficult, so always be sure to swap out a hero if they are about to get killed. Swap in a new one to take their place; preferably, swap one in that has full hit points. Even if they are not strong against the current type(s) of enemies that you’re facing, they still have a fighting chance, and if you don’t kill an enemy before you reach them, you can always run around them and evade their shots. This is especially helpful for distance runs (as opposed to runs where you have to kill a specific number of enemies).
For the kill runs, it’s important to pick up everything an enemy leaves behind, especially the MP potions, as these will charge your special attacks, making it a LOT easier to win when you are in a sticky situation. Of course, this is important for the distance runs too, but there, it doesn’t matter quite as much.
