Monster High: Ghouls and Jewels is a new iOS game, which is also coming soon to Android, that is based off of the Monster High toy franchise that is typically geared toward elementary and middle school girls. This game takes the typical match-three formula and gives it a twist via the Monster High characters and, surprisingly enough, a few unique gameplay elements that separate it from other match threes in the crowd. Read on for some tips and tricks for Monster High: Ghouls and Jewels!
As with most of the match three games, you get up to five lives in Monster High: Ghouls and Jewels. Every time you lose one round, you lose a life, and you either have to wait for it to come back or you have to buy new lives. You can circumvent this, though, by setting the time ahead on your phone or tablet and then going back to the game. 100 minutes would be sufficient for a full energy refill.
Once you do this, go back to your game and verify that the lives are there. Then go back to the date and time settings and set the time back to normal. Then go back to the game and your lives will still be there. You can use this trick literally as many times as you want to.
When you make a combo of four you get an eyeball, which shoots electricity diagonally. Make a combo of five and you get a school logo. Make a combo of five in an L-shape and you will get a bomb that blows away a total of 9 pieces around itself. Merge two bombs together for a big bomb, two eyes together for an X-shaped bolt of electricity. Two school logos will destroy every piece on your screen at the same time.
Mix a bomb and an eye and you will shoot wide lightning in a direction. Mix two bombs for a 5×5 and an additional bomb after that, with a huge radius. Mix two eyes for X lightning. Mix a school logo and an eye to turn all pieces of one color into eyes. Ditto with bombs when it’s mixing the theater name too.
Make sure to save up your coins and your gems so that you can buy better outfits in the store. The more advanced and expensive the outfit, the more of a coin bonus you’ll get at the end of a level, making it very possible for you to get your investment back by buying new clothes. The more expensive your clothes (generally) are, the more they consider that to be “dressing populously: so watch out for that.
