Ten of the Best CGI Game Trailers

The trailer for Techland's upcoming Dead Island - a co-operative zombie romp with a melee focus - launched on the internet yesterday in one almighty cavalcade of hype and attention. Whether you like them or loathe them, CGI trailers are a mainstay of the games industry. In no particular order, here are ten of our current favourites:

Dead Island

Here's the Dead Island trailer in full. We're not entirely sure if the game can live up to the trailer itself, but this short video alone has made thousands of people aware of a game they probably didn't know anything about 24 hours ago.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

After years of dithering in development hell, Square Enix put out this big, bold CGI trailer of Deus Ex: Human Revolution to put the game back on the map. And it worked a treat.

Killzone 2

One of the most controversial trailers of all time, this video of Killzone 2 from 2005 was scrutinised and contested for years. It's a testament to the PS3's specifications that the finished game looked almost this good.
