Hearthstone Guide: The Concept of a Midrange Deck

The Swiss Army Knife

The Midrange deck is made for people who like to have a solution for everything and want to face every possibility. It's a mix between the aggro deck which aims to win quickly, and the control deck which stretches into the late game. So you will have to be at ease at all times in the game.

The interest of this deck is that it works quite well in the early game and gives you a bit of control to keep your advantage over the board. Its comfort zone is the mid game, where you have a pile of creatures to take the upper hand once and for all over your opponent. Turns 4 and 5 will be the time to launch your assault by playing minions that your opponent will struggle to deal with.

The problem with this type of deck is that you can never excel in any domain. You won't do as well as the aggro decks in the early game and will have to hold them off if you are facing them. You also won't be at ease in the late game as the control decks so you will have to try and win the game before the late game. The advantage is that you can gain the upper hand over all kinds of deck.

As in any game, you must be able to identify the kind of deck your opponent is playing as quickly as possible. This is even more true for the midrange deck which requires you to have a very good knowledge of the current metagame. Identifying your opponent's match-up will be key to setting up the right strategy.
