Trove: Which Class to Choose?

MMORPG from Trion Worlds

Once you’ve fired up Trove (the new voxel MMO from Trion Worlds) for the first time, you’re faced with the question which so many players ask themselves when starting a new MMO: Which class is for me? Which class is the best? Well don’t fear guys, because we’re here to help you out with that. The classes in Trove can be split into two categories; melee and ranged. Each class has their own special strengths and weaknesses, and each class is good at once specific role in each group.

In this article I’ll just be giving you a quick overview, but if you want a more in-depth explanation of the classes, you can click here for ranged, or click here for melee.

Ranged

These guys are the damage dealers. The ranged classes are as follows: Gunslinger, Fae Trickster, Ice Sage, Shadow Hunter, and Pirate Captain. These classes want to be able to stay in one place and deal as much damage as they possibly can without being disturbed too much.

Ranged classes suit a player that likes to see big numbers, and use powerful magic and impressive weaponry to deal with their enemies. Don’t forget to brag to your friends about your ridiculous DPS, though. That’s half the fun of playing one of these classes.

Melee

On the whole, the melee classes are the characters that can take a little more beating. These guys will be in the front line wreaking havoc amongst the enemy ranks and keeping their squishy ranged friends safe. The melee classes are: the Knight, Dracolyte, Neon Ninja, Candy Barbarian, Boomeranger (I know, I know…), and the Tomb Raiser.

These melee classes are good for players that like to be in the thick of the action, dealing lots of damage while helping their other team mates by taking all of the anger of the enemies. The melee classes have a more interesting and unique set of skills, like the Tomb Raiser that reanimates dead minions, and the Dracolyte that can turn into a fire-breathing dragon.
