Insights Into The Coliseum

Well it's the close of the first official week of the Coliseum! After last week's "beta run" (open to a number of random kingdoms) the Coliseum opened up on August 7th, 5:00pm PST to the top kingdoms in the game (at least the ones with the highest number of wins during the kvks). By all accounts the Coliseum is an absolutely fantastic place with many interesting and lucrative events. You can make back the 10,000 gold you paid to get into the Coliseum through a number of different coliseum-specific solo and inferno events. But in addition to the gold gained, you can gain an incredible amount of speed ups, gems, rss, materials, and relics.

COLISEUM BASICS

• 10,000 gold for entry (Epic Teleport - NOT the 99,999 gold Legendary Transport)
• Teleport grants you 4 hours in Coliseum. At completion of 4 hrs you are randomly ported back to kingdom.
• Two types of events:  Solo (24 hours), and Inferno (60 min -55 min with 5 min preview)
• While you can see Coliseum events from your kingdom, you cannot see kingdom events from inside Coliseum
• Events do NOT stack (if there is a casino in both kingdom and coliseum, you only get credit where you are).  Note that this actually is a change that happened apparently mid-weekend.
• Event progress:  You can continue progress on Solo Events (coming back multiple times)
• Gathering is quicker and the tiles are bigger, all gathering boosts work (Lvl 6 tile - 3.5M, Lvl 5 tile - 2M, Lvl 4 tile - 1.1M).  Many items gained on tiles, including gold, chests, gems, relics.
• Modified events:  Rss Gathering/Monsters, Increase Power, Casinos, Troop Training/Research/Buildings, and Quest Completion
• Athena's Gift given every hour at start of the Inferno event.  Larger gifts, like 3d speed ups, multiple Alliance chances, 90k casino chips, etc.

TYPE OF EVENTS

SOLO EVENTS - 24 hours (values have changed)

• Rss Gathering/Monsters  - 50 million points needed over 24 hours from rss gathering (1 point for stone/wood/ore received, 2 points for food, 3 points for silver), and points from killing monsters.  20k gold total.  Happened twice during weekend.
• Kill event (with Gathering)? - Only part of the day, 6 hours.  Only once, started Sunday 5pm PST
• Power increase - 5M power increase needed.  Happened twice, once starting Friday 5pm PST and Sunday following the Kill event (shorter, starting Sunday 11pm PST ending Monday 5pm PST)

INFERNO EVENTS (values have changed)

• Rss Gathering- 8 million points needed over 55 min from rss gathering (1 point for stone/wood/ore received, 2 points for food, 4 points for silver - yes, different number for silver than Solo) - 3k gold plus 18d worth of speed ups; leaderboard includes gold.
• Power increase - various, from 2M, 3M and 4M with varying levels of gifts.
• Quest Completion - points for doing Daily, Alliance , and VIP quests.  Varying levels of points depending on the type of quest (Basic, Common, Uncommon, etc.).   Final prize is incredibly difficult to pull off.
• Troop Training (with research/buildings)? 
• Casinos - modified casino with relics as prizes (like in the regular kingdoms)

OTHER HELPFUL INFORMATION

• Rss tiles have INCREDIBLE items besides the rss themselves.  If you collect over 1M (and sometimes when you harvest less), you will most likely receive one or more of the following:  up to 1000 gold (in items under rss), gems (often 16 at a time, and potentially multiple types), Equipment (in chests, both relics and special), and TONS of mats.  One tile I farmed gave me the following (again from SINGLE tile):  16 Lvl 3 jewelry, 16 Lvl 3 feather, 16 Lvl 3 string, 4 Lvl 4 parchment.  As always, tiles in the forest have a higher potential for giving items, especially relics.
• You need to watch your tiles constantly - especially the first day.  This time around there are MANY people that are tile hitting.  It’s too easy to hit people and because of the heavy load on the MZ servers (many people), often people experience lag.
• Get more Athena’s Gifts - To take advantage of getting as many Athena’s gifts, come a little after an event starts, like 10 after the hour. If you participate in the event, you should still have enough time to complete it.  However, you’ll be able get the Athena’s gift FIVE times, instead of four times.
• Speed speed speed - Many awards give you tons and tons of speed ups.

TIPS AND TRICKS

• WINNING QUEST EVENT - The quest top prize is probably the most valuable and least expensive event during the coliseum (GOLD, CHIPS, and SPEEDS, see above for details).  Unfortunately if you are not set up for it now, you will not be able to complete it.  However, you can prep for the next coliseum when it comes around.  While it is obvious that you need to save every daily and alliance chance that you get, the secret is simply to stockpile ALL the loyalty that you can before the coliseum.  100 Daily Chances only cost 5M loyalty.  Loyalty you acquire for FREE during game play by alliance helps and correcting translations or slang.  By developing a good stash of loyalty, you can easily obtain the high number of Chances needed to complete this event.
• WINNING THE POWER INCREASE EVENTS – One TRICK is that healing hospitalized troops counts towards power increase.  Some have gamed the system by being hit (deliberately) and then simply healing troops to instantly complete the event.  Outside of this, I have found that Training Troops is the most efficient way to do so (and t3 troops at that).  The 2M event only requires 83k t3 troops to complete, but gives you 39 days of speeds and additional chips!!
• CASINOS TO YOUR ADVANTAGE – Other events give you TONS of chips.  Use this to your advantage during the event by trading these chips for speeds.  The 340k casino is the BEST for adding to your speed collection.  With 58d of speeds (plus silver and gold), the chips you receive from other events makes the 340k casino very attractive (8.5M chips needed to complete).
• GAINING CHIPS – A few events give tons of chips, so if you want to take advantage of the speeds that the 340k casino gives, do the 900k Troop/Trap event and Quest Completion Events!  It’s a big circle that can significantly add to your speeds.
