The wacky wild fun of the hit TV show Wipeout comes to your Apple devices! Wipeout 2 lets you take control of one of the contestants competing in the popular Wipeout competition. Slide, jump, and run your way through a obstacle course full of crazy contraptions! We’ll help you survive the gauntlet with our Wipeout 2 cheats, tips and tricks strategy guide!

1. Slide down hills!

If you need a little boost to your overall speed, try sliding down slopes. The forward momentum will speed you up a little bit, and although it’s a small effect, it could bring you a little closer to your opponent if you’re falling behind.

2. Complete the missions!

At the start of each level, you’ll have two missions shown to you at the bottom of the screen. They will be simple objectives like “use a power up X number of times”, or “slide a number of times”. Try your best to complete these as upon doing so will level up one of your current character’s stats. Don’t worry if you can do it all in one run, as the missions will stay until you complete them.

One of the following stats will improve:

  • Speed determines your character’s top speed.
  • Recovery determines how fast your character gets back on their feet after taking minor damage.
  • Slide determines how far your character’s slide goes.
  • Air Control determines how responsive your character is in the air.

Keep in mind that stats are different from each character, and the upgrades will only pertain to your currently selected character.

3. Use those power ups!

Power ups can be bought for coins at the beginning of each level. There are three power ups: speed up, rewind, and teleport. Speed up, arguably the most dangerous power up, speeds up your character’s top speed. If you know the course, this can help you beat your opponent. If not, you might end up running into an obstacle, so be careful when you use it! Rewind lets you go back a couple of paces if you’re about to hit an inevitable end. Very useful! But, the most useful of them all, is the teleport. The teleport lets you skip an obstacle set if you’re having too much trouble with it. This can save a run if you get stuck on a tricky obstacle course, such as the big balls.

4. Slow down!

You might be saying, “What?! Slow down?! But I need to race to the end!” You know what? You’re absolutely right! You need to go fast, however that doesn’t mean that you’re going to need to slow down at some point. This is probably the most important tip we can share with you – take your time! Try to move as fast as you can yes, but when you come up to a obstacle, slow down and examine the situation. If you try to speed through it you’ll probably end up taking a couple of hits, wasting more time in the long run. It’s all about timing here!

5. Watch out for the “claw” obstacles!

There will be times where you need to dodge the claw obstacles. These obstacles work just like regular hurdles, but they come with multiple branches to them. This only serves to hinder your vision, so your timing needs to be extra tight in order for you to clear them. If you can, try to see if they’re high enough for you to slide under. This is almost always the safest way to get around these obstacles!
