Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to be an octopus pretending to be a human father. That's (almost literally) the name of the game in Octodad: Dadliest Catch.
To help you in this endevour, 148Apps has come up with this list of tips to help stop those curious humans from catching on.
Take your time, but find a rhythm
Rarely will Octodadask for you to be quick on your feet - especially at the beginning.
Use all that downtime to really develop a rhythm for walking and climbing, since it will definitely come in handy later.
Use your surroundings
Occasionally, you have to be sneaky around biologists in Octodad, and there's usually more than one way to get past these pesky humans.
Experiment with all of the objects and paths in any given level to find new hilarious way to slide to the next objective.
Hint: Keep in mind that if you the direct line of sight is blocked, you're invisible to NPCs!
Don't be afraid to throw things
There are momentswhen time is a factor and manipulating tentacles can be quite a chore, like when placing objects in specific places to solve a puzzle.
In order to save some precious seconds, you can throw objects in the general direction of where they're supposed to be which will cause them to stick to the right place. It's nice and handy in a pinch.
Experiment with the translucent body setting
By default, Octodad has your tentacled body turn translucent when you switch from walking mode to grabbing mode. For some, this can make it really hard to see which side of your body your appendages are moving around on.
On the flipside, having translucence off means that all the action behind Octodad is obscured. Your best bet when starting out is to figure out which setting feels more useful to you and then rolling with it for the rest of the game.
