Instead of feeling like a user of a smartphone, I instead felt as if I was a manager of a football team – I felt as if I were a part of the game, and every team member relied on me for my input. This is a great job well done, and I am very pleased with it.
I think that the user interfaces within Flick Kick Football Legends have been designed almost perfectly. There are no buttons that are too small where it becomes hard to access, while simultaneously there are no buttons that are so big that they become a little humiliating and awkward to work with throughout the gameplay. Also, another nice feature of the user interfaces is; nothing is too cramped or crowded into a small area of the screen. Every button is very easy to press, and I had no issues with accidentally pressing the wrong one due to inconsistent and strange sizes, and the layout was also consistent throughout – which helped. Everything is also extremely responsive – everything works just like I originally expected it to, but a little bit better! The user interfaces are very easy to use and navigate – scrolling was very nice and smooth with no lag or stuttering along the way. Overall, I am very pleased with the user interfaces that are provided throughout the use of Flick Kick Football Legends.
I also found the graphics within Flick Kick Football Legends were very nice and aesthetically pleasing, overall. I found that although they do look realistic to an extent, they also feel slightly cartoon-esque. This is a great technique which has clearly been mastered by the developers, since I am still able to tell exactly what things are supposed to be – whilst they are simultaneously appealing to a wide range of ages. I can see the artwork and graphics being appreciated and loved by children, teenagers, adults, as well as some members of the elderly, too! Because of the way that the realistic look is combined with cartoon features, it has a perfect result. The artwork suit Flick Kick Football Legends perfectly, and it really finished the game nicely. I am very pleased with the work done in this department. I cannot suggest any changes or improvement, since the artwork is perfect for Flick Kick Football Legends as it is, currently.
Music & SFX: Flick Kick Football Legends deserves a strong 8/10, but nothing more. The music, although quiet and mild, adds a great sense of atmosphere to the game. It makes every single football match feel much more intense and enjoyable. There are also some nice sound effects, which make the user feel more immersed into the game. They suit the game nicely, but still not perfectly. I feel as if the sound effects could be much more realistic – this would result in an even more immersive experience.
Story & Originality: I am unfortunately only to give Flick Kick Football Legends a low 1/10 for its story and originality. There is virtually no story line throughout the whole of the game – I have no idea who my characters are, besides their names, and why they are playing in these football games. Most importantly, the game does not give me a reason to play – since there is no storyline. As well as this, this type of game has been created many times before – so it is not anything new or extremely exciting. However, the only reason I am able to give Flick Kick Football Legends anything above a zero, is because the flick controls are fairly unique, and the art style is also fairly unique.
General Gameplay: I am able to give Flick Kick Football Legends a firm and well-deserved 8/10 for the general gameplay. This is a strong point, mainly due to the other contributing factors. Because the game is very immersive, the artwork is very pleasing, and the controls are smooth, it makes the game become very enjoyable and fun to use. Since things are easy to use (but still hard to master), it makes the game much more enjoyable than it could have otherwise been. I cannot give the full ten since the sound effects could be improved a little bit. Other than that, I am very pleased!
Addictiveness: I can only give Flick Kick Football Legends a fairly low 6/10 for addictiveness. All of the football games are fairly repetitive – the courses are always the exact same, but just slightly different characters and character customisation options along the way. So, these factors do take away from the addictiveness quite a lot. Also, since there is no storyline, whatsoever, I have no reason to play the game at all – this also takes away from the addictiveness quite a lot. However, if I do ever have some spare time that needs to be used up then I am likely to open Flick Kick Football Legends to use up that spare time. Other than that, I do not find myself going out of my way to play Flick Kick Football Legends – mainly because it becomes too repetitive, and even a little tedious.
