Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff Cheats & Tips

Quite recently, TonyCo has instigated a no cheating policy whereby if you are found to be in violation of this policy, you will receive one warning and have any illegally obtained clams to 250, if they catch you cheating again, you will receive a permanent ban. I will instead be suggesting small, perfectly safe tips to help you maximize your playing experience. Firstly, you should link your account to your Facebook and/or Google+ accounts as doing this will allow you to find any friends that also play the game and visit their versions of Quahog, by doing this you will be able to get a little extra money, you may even occasionally come across a few clams on your visit, since you can so tasks for each of your friends once a day, try to make a habit of dropping by your friends towns once a day.

If you do decide to buy anything with real money, buy clams rather than coins, since you can get a steady flow of coins coming your way fairly quickly, you should have no need to buy any, unlike clams, which are tougher to come by as they are only usually a reward for the bigger quests or when you level up, since they are so hard to come by, don’t waste them on rushing tasks, I know how tempting it can be, but you can always just switch to another app for a while, whilst you wait for your tasks to complete, save your clams instead, so that you can buy some of the more exclusive buildings.

If you know some of yours quest include tasks that will take several hours, wait to start those before you are going to go ahead and close the app for the night or something, if you all these tasks to complete overnight, you’ll wake up with a bunch of completed tasks. When you are planning on closing the app for the day, always make sure that all of you characters are doing a long task, and yes I mean all of your characters, you’ll end up getting a ton of experience, money and items which could be beneficial to later tasks. If you find that you’re short a few coins for something, do a bunch of the characters shorter tasks that are usually only a couple of minutes, the best tasks are the ones that require a partner as you get experience and coins for both characters who complete the task.

If you need to build a specific building for a quest and you find that you’re running low on space, you can always store any buildings or items that you don’t really need at that particular point. If you need to check the level of one of your characters to see how much more experience you need to get until the next level, Facespace is a good place to check as it displays all of your characters current levels and far they are off the next level, you can also see some pretty funny status updates.

Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff Review

There are quite a few things that I like about Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff, one being the clear and obvious link between the game and the show, it stays pretty true to the in show characters, the quests are related to their in show quirks, qualities and even certain storylines that feature in the shows, the game even includes iconic features from the show like The Drunken Clam, if there is anything memorable in the show, it will be shoved into the game. The game has also received numerous updates for 2016.  It’s clear that TinyCo has obviously gone all out with the fan service in this game, if you like the show, you’ll probably like the game, the style and humor of the show is all in this game.

Something I else I really like about this game is that depending on which holiday or time of year it is, the game will always have a whole bunch of themes items, quests, new town community members, it’s a really fun way of celebrating the various times of year.

Certain quests require one of your characters to collect various items, which seems simple enough, until you realize that each item has to be obtained through other character actions, which can sometimes mean that you have to make other characters do sometimes forty actions until you’re able to fully complete the quest, some of the actions can take multiple hours which seems like it can take an awfully long time to completely fulfill all of the requirements for one part of a quest. Whilst the creator would have you think that this is a one of a kind game, it was actually only released after the success of Simpsons Tapped Out, which essentially follows the same kind of storyline, the main character sets off a chain of events which leads to their town being destroyed and the payer having to rebuild it, it seems like a very well masked copy, but really that’s all it is – a copy.

Because of the extensively long action times, the game quickly gets very slow paced so you do end up having to wait until you’re finished with the game for the day to initiate the longer actions. Something that really frustrated me while playing this game was the difficulty I had when I wanted to move buildings around, when I would try to drag and drop the item I wanted to move, the whole town would move instead as if I were just trying to look back, every time it would take me roughly three or four tries to get the building or item to actually move, and it would do this literally every single time I wanted to move something, it was actually the reason I deleted the game the first time around, hoping the issue had been fixed in the several updates since I had deleted it, I gave it a chance and decided to re-download the game, alas, the problem still persisted and continued to drive me incredibly crazy

Ratings:

Artwork: I give Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff a 9/10 for its artwork. The art in general stays pretty true to the original characters in the show.

Music and SFX: I give the game a 9/10 for its music and SFX. The music is very jaunty and is absolutely filled with vocal sound effects from the show, which is something I think really adds to the authenticity of the game, especially when certain lines are said at really funny points – Make Lois Do Laundry ‘Oh I love that!’.

Story and Originality: I give the game a 7/10 for its story and originality. So the initial story that is explained in the cut scene in the very beginning of the game is very funny and something I could really see happening in the show. Sadly, this isn’t a whole lot in this game that is original, Fox and TinyCo are clearing trying to drag on the success of Simpsons Tapped Out and make further money.

General Gameplay: I give the game a 6/10 for its general gameplay. The gameplay is easy enough to get the hang of pretty quickly; the only problem I really had was with trying to rearrange my decorations, buildings and homes, that caused me a lot of frustration that made me get really irritated with the game.

Addictiveness: I give the game a 9/10 for its addictiveness. Even if you do put this game down, you get push notifications quite often telling you that your townspeople are done with their tasks or that you need to collect the money from homes and businesses, things that just pull you right back in as you’re just meaning to do a quick check on your town and end up playing it for two hours.

My overall rating for Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff is 8/10.
