It is very important to keep a rhythm in this game so that you can make sure that you know how many seconds you have until you can jump again.  If you miss time when you should be jumping, then you will run yourself into the ground and lose.  After you figure out the whole course, then you have to learn where you need to jump and you will be able to time yourself and be ready to jump.  There are multiple ways to get through the track, but it will be difficult to go through some ways compared to others.  The rocket ship mode will cause you to have to tilt your phone so that you are not running into anything but also make sure that you will get farther in the race.

After a couple of runs through the track, try and solve your way through it and then when you hit a spot where you haven’t been before, then you have to learn how to solve the next parts through your own reactions.  This is because after you get to a point where you don’t know the race, you will have to do it through reaction and then figure out more of the race and more of what you have to do for that specific level.  After you have done this process multiple times, you will be able to get through the entire race without having to react to new things and instead be ready to jump whenever you need to.

The later on you go within the game, the harder that it is.  If you do get the full version, it starts to get very hard to play because you will have to click more and more at irregular times when you don’t expect it.  You will have to increase your reaction times in order to try and solve the puzzle a lot easier and if anything, it will just take a lot longer in order to learn how to beat the specific level.  Keep on trying even if you are not having success because eventually it will be easy enough to beat the level through straight memory of the game.

The graphics in Geometry Dash Lite are super clean and make the game a ton of fun without being too filling and having too much on the game that makes the game too confusing.  As long as they don’t crowd up the game with too many advertisements than they already do now, then the game should be fine.  I kind of understand, however, that the game puts in a ton of advertisements due to the fact that the game is the free version so the producers want to advertise both the game as well as different games in order to generate money from this free trial version.

Although there isn’t a solid storyline in Geometry Dash Lite, it is okay because the game is pretty good in that the game doesn’t have to have a storyline in order to peak interest in it.  It simply has levels that motivate people to want to get through every single level before they are done with the game and then end up competing against friends to see who is better at the game and who is ultimately the best player at this game.

People who might like this game is pretty much anybody who likes fast paced games where you have to get through to the end in order to complete the level.  This creates a kind of intense situation where you will be on your feet playing the game because you might just beat the level that you have had so much trouble defeating in the past few weeks.  I think that the game does provide a little bit of extra fun so that players will feel like they want to play the paid version of the game.

Artwork:

I would give Geometry Dash Lite a 5/10.  Although the artwork is simple, it is good for a game like this where the artwork is super clean and it gives a pretty good feel of the game.  If the artwork was a bit better on the rocket ship, I think it would be an even better game, but it is really kind of weird how the game works because the artwork is so clean for everything including the triangles and the square, but there is a weird face on the square which makes it kind of strange.  I think that if they just had a black block for the whole thing, it would be pretty good and pretty satisfying to play because I don’t think that the artwork for this game is what is especially what is fun, but rather the whole gameplay of the game is what makes this game shine.

Music and SFX

I would give Geometry Dash Lite a 4/10.  I think that the music is pretty retro which is pretty good for the background that the game gives you as well as the feeling that you get from playing the game.  So I think that for once, the game music is pretty good and is a good listen while you are playing the game.  I think that the game is really nice in terms of how much the background and the music sync together.  I think that the sound effects are okay because they aren’t spectacular.  There is really only some sound effects for deaths as well as power-ups but really nothing that great about them.

Story and Originality

I would give Geometry Dash Lite a 6/10.  There is no storyline in Geometry Dash Lite, but that is really good about the game because there is no story that you have to follow and any story that the game put out would be pretty poor because it is really just about a square that is trying avoid all of the triangles and get to the finish line.  I think that if the game wanted more of a story version, the game would be looked down upon for even attempting something like that.  It wouldn’t fit the game and other games which are similar like Temple Run really don’t have a story attached to it because it doesn’t work for games like this where you are just trying to get the highest score or reach the highest level in the game.  This game seems pretty original because I have not seen this kind of rhythmic play where players have to get used to the game and the shapes in order to get past a puzzle, basically where you have to memorize where all of the evil triangles can kill you as well as the evil pitfalls in the falls.  However, the concept is pretty similar to other games except those games simply have different things to represent the triangles and pitfalls in the game.  So it is original to an extent.

General Gameplay

I would give Geometry Dash Lite a 8/10.  I think that the gameplay of Geometry Dash Lite is definitely up to par.  Although you can only really jump in the game, you can get those power-ups which will allow you to tilt your phone in order to move around the rocketship when you get one so that you aren’t hitting triangles and losing the game.  I think that the gameplay is simple for the controls so that a lot of people can get into the game and the people who are watching someone else play can also play without much help.  The gameplay is also difficult enough to the point where it takes a lot of practice, which you can get in the practice mode, as well as memory of the course so that players have to go through a ton of times in the course in order to get through the entire course in one run.  The gameplay is also a bit rhythmic which makes you have to kind of get into a rhythm of when you are able to jump again so that you don’t run into any kind of trouble.  There are no in-app purchases which I also find very nice because that means that there is no such thing as pay to win and the only money that the game is making is through the ads.  So it seems like they are running on the bare minimum just to provide some fun to players instead of doing it for a profit like a bunch of other games.   A lack of pay to win is a lot of fun because players can’t just use money in order to gain an advantage over other people.  I wish that there was more of a social part of the game where you would be able to duel your friends in terms of who was better at staying alive on a random map that no one has played before and you can see your friends progress as well as your own on a dual screen where you are trying to outlast them.  I think that that would be a ton of fun instead of the normal dueling through how many levels you have gone through in the game because eventually everyone will have gone through it.

Addictiveness

I would give Geometry Dash Lite a 7/10.  I think that the game is pretty addicting because it is a pretty fresh concept and the details of the game are pretty good.  The game has got a ton of reviews because it is so similar to the games of Temple Run except there is actually an end to each level which you have to get to in order to unlock the new game levels.  After you finish those game levels, you will be able to play the new levels and start learning how to get through those as well.  This is only the Lite version of the game which means that it is free and the regular game does cost money.  So normally the game is addicting, but because you are only getting the Lite version, you will get stopped at a level where the producers think that you have had enough.  So maybe the lite version is not as addicting because you can only get through a limited number of levels, but if you like the game enough, you should purchase the game for a small amount of money to get the whole version and be able to play a ton more.

Overall, I would give Geometry Dash Lite a 4/10.
