Game developer Gameloft comes at you with yet another critically acclaimed strategy game called Total Conquest. This Greco-Roman themed game puts you in charge of your own city-state as a governor and your mission is to fight off enemies and reclaim all of Caesars lands for yourself. The game has been downloaded over a million times on Google Play Store with a rating of 4.0 out of 5 and a rating of 4.5 stars on iOS App Store.
Total Conquest consist of many elements which you need to pay attention to in order to play the game successfully. Three are a lot of things happening on your screen so it’s a good thing that there is a tutorial at the beginning of your gameplay, which explains a lot of the basic things in/game. Your goal in Total Conquest is to build up your city-state, farm for gold coins, food and ambrosia, upgrade your buildings and troops using these recourses and eventually defend your city-state from incoming enemy attacks and going out and plunder other city-states yourself.
Gold store is the building that holds all of your gold coins. You earn gold coins by building villas. Owners of villas need to pay tax to live on your lands. You can upgrade your gold storage so that it can hold more gold coins. Farms produce food that is much needed to train new troops. You harvest your food by clicking on your farm. You can upgrade your farms so that they can produce more food. The food you harvest on your farms go to your food storage. You can upgrade your food storages. You can upgrade your food storages so they can hold more food.
You need an architect to construct new buildings in your town. You start off with one architect but you can hire more so you can construct buildings faster. You can train your army in your barracks. By upgrading your barracks you can train higher tier troops. Training troops cost food so make sure you have plenty of it in storage. You can send your troops to your muster ground so they are on alert for when an enemy attacks your city. By upgrading your muster grounds, you can have more troops on ready for a defense.
You can speed up building constructions and troop training by using tokens. Tokens are the Total Conquest premium currency. At the beginning of your gameplay you have a few hundred tokens but you will be out of them very quickly.
There is an in-game market where you can purchase a lot of items with either gold coins, food, ambrosia or tokens. You can purchase the three basic recourses using tokens, purchase and construct military buildings and purchase and construct defensive buildings so enemies will have a hard time attacking you. Next to these categories, there is also an economy category where you can purchase and build economic buildings such as gold storages or farms. There are also specialty items which are pretty expensive and cost a lot of tokens such as potions you can use when you attack an enemy base or an immunity shield which will make your city-state immune to enemy attacks for the amount of time you purchase.
Total Conquest In-game store
Tokens are the premium currency in Total Conquest and owning them will give you a huge advantage over other players. With tokens you can instantly construct buildings and instantly train troops. You can also purchase the basic recourses which you need to train troops, construct buildings and purchase specialty items in the in-game market. Unfortunately, tokens are hard to come by so there is an in-game store where you can purchase them for real money.
Prices for tokens vary from $1,99 for the smallest package of 200 tokens up till $99,99 for the largest package of 17.000 tokens.
You can also earn tokens by completing achievements in the game. Things such as upgrading your city hall will already get you a few tokens so you should look into completing a few achievements before you start buying tokens.
If you connect to Facebook or Google+, you can invite your friends to play Total Conquest as well. By doing so, you will automatically get ten tokens. You also have a referral code and if your friends join the game using your referral code, you and your friends will receive a bonus reward consisting of in-game recourses.

Games such as Total Conquest and many other ones are always a target for fake cheat and hack makers. There are many websites out there that claim they have a working hack or cheats that work with Total Conquest but in reality they do not work at all, or are viruses. These websites are usually well designed and look trustworthy, especially because they have a few images on there that claim they have been checked and they are secure. You should always be on your guard for websites such as these. I took the liberty to try out one of these hacks but it was a mess from the beginning.
First I needed to fill in a survey (this generates an income for both the download website and the website where the hack is on), after I completed the survey, my download automatically started. It was an .exe file and when I opened it, a window appeared that told me to connect my phone to my computer so that the hack can detect my phone. Of course the hack never actually is able to detect your phone because the program itself is nothing but an empty shell. It is all designed to make money off of people because they need to fill in surveys before they can download the so called hack. Instead of looking for hacks for Total Conquest, you should follow these tips to advance in this game.
Total Conquest Gameplay Tips
When you first start playing Total Conquest, you will have lots of tokens (above two hundred of them) so what you would want to do is try to not spend too many of them and save them up for a rainy day. Tokens are hard to come by and are expensive to buy in the in-game store but they are very useful to your gameplay. You can speed up construction and troop training but also use them to purchase resources, buildings and also specialty items such as potions and immunity shields. You also need to be cautious about running out of storage space for your recourses. You can counter this by constructing more food and gold storages and upgrading them early on in the game so the amount of recourses you can hold significantly rises.
Once you are ready to go to battle with your enemies, make sure to use just about enough soldiers that you need. Any soldier you send out to battle, whether he dies or not, will disappear after you come back to your city-state. By sending just about enough soldiers, you would not have to train more troops once you get back from battle. A good way to do this is by sending in enough troops to destroy your enemies’ guard towers, and after that send the rest of your troops to slowly destroy their remaining buildings. A good way to always have enough troops available at your city-state is to build many muster grounds and upgrade them as soon as possible. By doing so, you can hold many soldiers at your base, and once you return from battle, you can just go into battle right away because your soldiers are already trained and ready.
When i first started playing Total Conquest, i expected it to be another one of those generic city building games with no originality whatsoever. While it is indeed a city building game, it does come packed with a lot of features and the theme is set in the Greco-Roman times.
When you start playing Total Conquest for the first time, you will go through a tutorial which teaches you the basics of the game. The tutorial was nicely build and helps you a lot because it basically tells you what everything stands for and what your goal in the game is. After you have completed the tutorial mission, you will see an occasional text bubble appear where Nadia, your tutor, explains a couple of more things and after that you are on your own.
I like the fact that you can play Total Conquest however you feel like it. You can play single player and raid other cities and plunder their recourses but you can also play against your friends or other players around the world if you like a challenge. I personally prefer to not be bound by one type of linear gameplay, so this is a nice touch to Total Conquest.
I would like to add that I have not seen any advertisements during my gameplay, which is a very positive aspect for me. Advertisements in free-to-play games is understandable but most of the times the developers implement them in such a way, they get very obstructive to your gameplay. Good thing that the Total Conquest developers did not do this.
Another great aspect about Total Conquest was that you are not limited by energy bars, lives or time limits etc. You can just hop in the game, play a few levels or play for hours if you want. The only negative thing about this is that constructing buildings can sometimes take up to two days and the only way to speed this up is by using tokens.
Tokens are the premium currency of Total Conquest and they are very hard to come by. You can get them by completing achievements or just grinding levels. Unfortunately if you are not patient enough for this, you will need to spend real money and buy them in order to have a chance against other Total Conquest players who will attack your city-state.
Artwork: I give Total Conquest a 9/10 for its artwork. You can tell by the looks of this game that the developers spend a lot of time on the graphics and the Greco-Roman artwork. Everything from buildings to troops is cartoonish and based on that era which is a very nice because there are already too many games out there with a fantasy theme. Another nice thing about the artwork in Total Conquest is that, even if you do not do anything, your city-state will still feel alive because the civilians moving around and your soldiers training on the muster grounds etc. All in all the artwork fits very well together and the developers did a very good job.
Music & SFX: I give Total Conquest an 8/10 for its music and SFX. The soundtracks and sound effects in Total Conquest fit very well together, just like with the artwork. The developers made sure that every sound effect fitted the environment. For example when you send your troops to the muster grounds, they will train themselves by hacking and slashing against a wooden dummy doll. These actions have sound effects which is very nice because you are most likely doing something else in your city-state but you can still hear your soldiers training.
Story & Originality: I give Total Conquest a 5/10 for its story and originality. It is true that the developers did a very good job on this game but unfortunately there are dozens and dozens of city building and plundering strategy games such as Total Conquest. They all seem to copy elements of each other’s games and just implement them in their own games, but with different models and themes. I still want to cut Total Conquest some slack because of the fact that they have a very nice Greco-Roman theme going on and there is a back story, even if it’s a small one.
General Gameplay: I give Total Conquest a 7/10 for general gameplay. At the beginning there is a tutorial which explains the basics of the game, after which you will be on your own but the tutorial is sufficient enough for you to be able to continue playing. The gameplay itself becomes pretty straightforward but still exciting nonetheless. Especially because you can play with and against your friends, or even random players across the world.
Addictiveness: I give Total Conquest a 7/10 for addictiveness. Total Conquest can absolutely be an addictive game, especially because of the fact that you are not being blocked out by depleting energy bars or lives. The only thing that can really stop you from playing is the long waiting times of building constructions in late-game. You can of course spend tokens to speed things up but if you do not want to spend real money on Total Conquest, you are going to have to be really patient and wait a lot.
All things considered, I give Total Conquest an 7/10.
