LINE Corporation has yet again brought to us with another game that features elements of cute, playful, and strategic in the new game LINE POP. LINE POP takes 34mb of space in your mobile device to be installed and it was last updated on June 30, 2015. The current version of it is 3.1.0 and if you are using Android, you will need the system firmware 2.2 and up. The content rating is rated E for everyone and since its released, LINE POP has had between 10 million to 50 million installs! LINE POP also offers in app purchases, which costs from as low as $0.99 to as high as $57.17!
If you are a big fan of LINE Corporations games and applications, then you would be pleased to hear about LINE POP. LINE POP, like many other LINE Corporation games, involves you interacting and playing with LINE Corporations mascots. Their mascots and friends includes but are not limited to Brown, Cony, Line, Pony and more! LINE POP features a lot of great gaming elements that brings together both young children and adults in there amazing games. In LINE POP, you will have to make a combo of three or more of Brown, Pony, Cony, Line or etc faces to clear the level! The longer the string of friendly LINE mascots you have, the more bonus and points you will get! The goal is to remove and clear all of the LINE mascots in LINE POP in order to clear the level and the stage. Like many puzzle games, LINE POP allows you to connect via Facebook or their own instant messaging app, LINE, to play competitively against your other friends! You will be displayed on a weekly ranking board, where the best player will be named number 1! Every day when you login into the game, you get to receive gifts and give hearts to help your friends have more chances to play LINE POP/ your friends will also be able to give you a heart back, so if you run out of lives (hearts), you will be able to play LINE POP without waiting!
The currency in LINE POP is gems and coins. The gems are a premium currency in LINE POP, where you can purchase the gem packs or set of 10 in the app store. The coins are the main currency in LINE POP, where you can collect them from your friends or earn them when clearing a level and a stage. You will know when you have leveled up by looking at the status bar on the top. There will be a star with a number inside of it and a percentage of how much you have accomplished! To date, LINE POP will only allow 5 heart lives and when you run out you will have to wait for it to regenerate or buy them physically using real life money.

Although LINE POP seems to appeal to the younger audiences, it is a challenging game that makes you use your brain muscles! Although the objective of the game is really easy, you just have to align the LINE Corporation mascot’s faces together and clear the level and stage, LINE POP only gives you a certain amount of time and lives to successfully complete the level. Therefore, the tip in this game is to stay focused, don’t be fooled by LINE POP cute graphics, and concentrate on finding a strategy that suits yourself when playing this game!
I am a huge fan of LINE Corporation games and it is no surprise that all of their games features their loveable and relatable mascots! By far, I really like how LINE Corporation has a variety of different characters featured in different games. They each have a different story line and personality that makes them all very charming. Like in all LINE Corporation games, LINE POP does not lack in the area of graphics, music, or gameplay. Those three elements are what I look forward to reviewing for all the games.
In LINE POP, similar to all their other games from LINE Corporation, we get to meet and interact and play as LINE, CONY, Brown and etc. I adored how sweet and charming all the mascots were and how the graphics were simple but yet high quality. The colors that was featured in LINE POP wasn’t difficult to recreate, but it is the simplicity that brought me to love this game, LINE POP. First of all, the game effects were stunning. The sound effects as well as the voice overs were really pleasant to the ear and it made me anticipate the next move. It kept me on edge and also made me want to continue playing even when I had run out of moves or lives.
Everything in LINE POP was well balanced. I saw that the story line, the graphics, the music and sound effects, and all the other game elements did not over shadow one category or the other. They were all perfectly balanced to the point where you always knew what you had to do, what the goal of the task in the stage was in LINE POP, what was happening in the story, and who you were playing as. Oftentimes, a game is usually rated down due to some categories in the game not being on the same level as the other categories. But for LINE POP, since everything was perfectly balanced, there was nothing that was seemingly wrong or bad.
One might argue that due to the simplicity of the artwork and the game style, that this game is more suited for children and not adults. I think that LINE POP is just as suitable for adults just as they are for children. Although at first glance LINE POP seems like a game that is easy to play and has no challenges, this is in fact, not true, because LINE POP is filled with endless challenges and gameplay. The fact that you have to clear a difficult level under a time limit is already a challenge itself. No matter how high of a level you reach in LINE POP, the time will never pause or extend itself, making this game that much harder.
In conclusion, I believe that if you are a fan of LINE Corporations games and applications, then LINE POP is the game for you. It features the familiar and friendly mascots LINE, CONY, Brown and more, and it also challenges you with challenging gameplay and great graphics.

Artwork: The rating for the artwork in LINE POP receives the score of 10/10. The artwork as mentioned earlier, is clear, crispy, bright, and beautiful. It is simple yet vibrant and also captures every one of all ages to pick up this game and play. None of the colors or the characters in LINE POP overshadows one or the other, and also they are all distinguishable from the other LINE mascots just by their appearances. LINE POP graphics also does not disrupt the overall gameplay and steal the attention away from the main purpose of the game, the game mechanics.
Music & SFX: The music and SFX category of LINE POP receives the overall rating of 10/10. The music and SFX was on point and it looked and sounded just as amazing as it is. There was no lag in LINE POP and the theme was clearly different from all the other LINE Corporation games that has been released.
Story & Originality: The story and originality of LINE POP receives the overall rating of 9/10. While I had whole heartedly enjoyed LINE POP, I felt that LINE Corporation didn’t really have any real improvements from their other puzzle games. All of the other LINE puzzle games features the same game mechanics and no story line to be added either. While it is great that there is room for imagination, it is also easy to get bored of playing LINE POP due to its lack of story line and originality added into LINE POP.
General Gameplay: The general gameplay in LINE POP receives the overall rating of 10/10. Everything felt completely in place, with no bugs or game interface menu blocking other features in LINE POP. There was no lag, bugs, or glitches present during my gameplay of this game as well. The option to connect to your social media account, Facebook, and or LINE was optional too.
Addictiveness: The addictiveness factor in LINE POP receives the overall rating of 8/10. While everything including the artwork, music, SFX are on point and perfect, the lack of story and originality made LINE POP less addictive than other puzzle games on the market.
The overall rating for LINE POP is 8.5/10. LINE POP is a great puzzle game to start out with if you have never played any other LINE Corporation puzzle games, but if you have, this might not strike you as a new innovative game. While the artwork, music, and SFX are all perfect and has no flaws, the story and originality killed the addictiveness factor in this game and LINE Corporation failed to deliver something new to the mobile game market, because it felt like they just repackaged one of their old previous LINE puzzle games and game it a new go.
