Fallout 4 Guide: How To Find A Deathclaw Gauntlet

The Deathclaw Gauntlet aka: Murder Glove. A staple of the crafting bench in Fallout 3, these days the Deathclaw Gauntlet is a little bit harder to come by for the average Wasteland citizen. But if you follow these steps you can get your hands on one for the mere price of killing a Deathclaw.

Travel to Salem in the northeast section of the Commonwealth map and head to the Museum of Witchcraft. You can get a map marker for the area by listening to the guards in Diamond City, who will mention the museum in passing. Once you get there, circle around to the right side and find the entrance to the basement.

Outside will be the body of Private Hart, a Gunner. Listen to the holotape you find on her body, then venture inside.

On the second floor, in the bathrooms across from a museum display, you will find two more dead Gunners, one of whom has a holotape nearby.

In it, he explains that that his team was tracked by a Deathclaw after picking up a package for delivery. Upon opening the package they discovered Deathclaw eggs, most of which are now broken. Pick up the sole intact egg and leave the museum.

On the third floor above is a large Deathclaw. If you're lucky, it won't find you (if it does, you may be able to shoot it down unharmed if it gets caught on some debris due to its size).

At this point you have the choice to either return the egg to its nest up in Lynn Woods, or finish the delivery. If you return the egg to its nest, a Deathclaw will appear and scratch at the nest for a few moments before a Deathclaw Gauntlet appears. The Deathclaw will not be hostile to you.

Your other option is to take it to Wellingham over in Diamond City, who was the one who originally requested the delivery. Upon receipt he will give you his special recipe for Deathclaw Egg a la Wellingham and 200 caps (or more, if you pass a few speech checks).

A third but less appealing option is to return the egg and take the Deathclaw Gauntlet, but steal the egg back and return it to Wellingham anyway. However, this results in less reward money and you have no opportunity to haggle with Wellingham for more. Additionally, he will only give you money as opposed to also giving you the recipe. The Deathclaw will also become hostile to you again if you take the egg.

Personally, I chose the recipe because I figure I'll find a schematic for the Deathclaw Gauntlet at a later time. What did you choose?
