Pocket Maplestory Hack & Cheats for Candy & Premium 2016

Pocket Maplestory Hack, Cheats, & Tips for Candy & Premium

Pocket MapleStory is a Role Playing game developed by Nexon Company, a Korean team known for other titles such as Fantasy War Tactics or Legion of Heroes. The game is available on both Android and Apple devices and it has been downloaded in 2016 almost 1 million times. It has a rating of 3.8 out of 5 on Google Play and 3 and a half stars from a maximum of 5 on Apple’s App Store. In order to run at optimal parameters, the game requires an Android version of at least 2.3.3 or, for Apple devices, iOS 6.0.

In Pocket MapleStory you take the role of a once powerful character who needs to recover all its powers back. You will team-up with your friends and you will face unknown creatures, odd situations and much more. Prepare yourself for a complex peculiar adventure.

The game does require a mandatory sign-up but fortunately there are a lot of options available: Facebook, Twitter, Google+, creating an account just for the game or playing as a guest. The last one is still considered ‘mandatory’ because you are required to accept some terms and conditions before playing. Because of this signing-in requirement, you can be assured that there will be no data loss in case of changing your device or for some reason uninstall and reinstall Pocket MapleStory at a later time. Just make sure you don’t forget your account.

Pocket MapleStory has two types of resources from which one acts as a normal currency (Mesos) while the other acts as a premium currency (Candies). You can get Mesos by killing opponents and completing quests and you can get Candies by investing real money. The price for Candies depends on the amount you wish to buy: the least you can get is 1,000 Candies in exchange of $1.99 while the most you can get in one singles purchase is 90,000 Candies with $99.99 There are also some special packs and other microtransactions such as Premium Accounts.

Cheats & Tips for Pocket MapleStory

  • Each starting hero has its own advantages and disadvantages. The good news is that you have 3 available slots so if you don’t know anything about Pocket MapleStory, you can try all of them and see which one fits with your playstyle the best.

  • The using of ropes in order to climb is mandatory. The game looks like a platformer so that’s why you are required to use environment tools instead of doing big jumps from platform to platform.
  • Make sure you don’t forget to redeem rewards from the messages. Reading the mail is not enough so make sure you press Accept before deleting it.
  • Equip your character properly. There are a lot of weapons to choose from, you have different stats boosts and even pets. Make sure you use everything at your disposal.
  • Don’t forget to use potions when you are in trouble. It may seem like common sense but you would be surprised about the number of players who forget about this small yet important detail.
  • In order to level-up your character you will most likely be required to grind for a while. A wise decision would be to start the Auto Combat mode in a zone where enemies are weaker than you (but not too much) and just sit back and relax.

  • Use teleport instead of facing swarms of enemies each time you need to get to a location. It will save you time and nerves.
  • Use the storage from home to keep your precious but not convenient items so you don’t fill up your inventory.
  • By default, the stats points are increased automatically. If you want to try a different build or you just feel that the auto-increasing doesn’t satisfy your needs, turn it off and add the points manually. Don’t forget to do it though.
  • In order to start crafting stuff, you need to choose a profession (or sub-class) which can later be changed if you are not satisfied by your current one. Be aware, it costs a lot of money to change it.

Pocket MapleStory Review

One of the most surprising popular titles on PC was MapleStory. You probably never heard of it, neither did I at that time but trust me on this: a lot of people were and are still playing it. This Korean game has an interesting concept which reached out to a big player base so developing a Pocket version didn’t come as a total surprise.

Probably the best feature of Pocket MapleStory is the immersive and complex story, the game has. At first, it may be boring but if you have enough patience, you will definitely start to be intrigued by it. The cliché feeling is present but in a discrete manner. Another great thing I encountered in the game is the fact that you will bump into other players and do all sorts of social and game-related stuff with them.

I like that there are dozens if not hundreds of items available and that Pocket MapleStory has a proper character progression filled with stats, skills and bonuses. One other impressing thing about this game is the amount of options you can choose from in the Settings menu. Anything from the graphics to the controls (which are awful in all cases but at least the developers tried).

I like the fact that some of the missions (especially dungeons) are built in such a way that you will need to have a party in order to clear them. Also, because there are a lot of microtransactions available, Pocket MapleStory is ad-free and that’s an awesome thing in my opinion.

In the following lines I will explain briefly what I don’t like or what I would change about Pocket MapleStory if given the opportunity. First of all I must complain, once again, about the fact that the game requires a lot of updates and new files to download after the default installation. On one hand I understand that it is easier this way but when you have so much content that still requires to be downloaded, you should update your game client from time to time.

Currently it is faster to download Hearthstone and all its updates than Pocket MapleStory. Secondly, I am not really a fan of the way the developers chose the controls. Currently there is a hybrid between a button-overlay and touching on screen. The good news is that you can change most of them, the bad news is that doing so doesn’t help as much as would you expect. Finally, I must complain about what most of the users are complaining.

The grinding of MapleStory is something well-known amongst all players but in the Pocket version of the game, it is getting ridiculous. The second mission took me about 5 minutes in order to get 8 feathers. You don’t do that. Not on a mobile version of a game and especially not from the first quests.

Overall, Pocket MapleStory is a 2016 game I would probably recommend. It is nothing compared with the original PC version but I believe that you can still have a pretty good experience with the game anyway. Try it on your mobile device and if you enjoy it, ‘upgrade’ to the PC version – you won’t regret it.

Ratings

Artwork: Pocket MapleStory gets a rating of 7 out of 10 for its artwork. The theme the developers approached is somehow Fantasy so there will be a lot of colorful weird-looking stuff all over the place. Unfortunately, taken as a whole, the game looks old.

The character design is interesting because there is a big sense of freedom when you talk about customization.  The environment looks good and there all kinds of interaction with it (especially because the game is a platformer at its core). There are several animations effects and they are ‘doing their job’ properly. Nothing too extraordinary though.

Music & SFX: I give the game a rating of 7 out of 10 at this section. The soundtrack used in Pocket MapleStory feels a bit odd because it is more like a background music instead of a catchier genre. Along with the theme it creates an interesting atmosphere but nothing that stands out in any way. There are several sound effects as well but they don’t have any real impact on the overall impression of the game. They are cute but nothing more. There is more than enough room for improvement.

Story/Originality:  Pocket MapleStory gets a rating of 9 out of 10 for its story and originality. This section is probably where the game shines the most. It is true that some of the elements from this title are similar to other games but we are talking about the Role Playing genre after all. Pocket MapleStory has a lot of own original features and it is by no means a copy of another title.

As I mentioned before, the story is something special and it should be taken as a role model for other RPGs. The developers should be proud of themselves, they nailed it.

General Gameplay: I give Pocket MapleStory a rating of 7 out of 10 for its gameplay. You have a tutorial at the beginning but it will leave you with more questions than answers. Because it is an RPG, the game will be overwhelming for newcomers. There are a lot of complex mechanics which will require time in order to be understood. The controls, as I said before, are also not that great and they will most likely annoy a large part of users. The good news is that for the time I’ve played, I haven’t encountered any major bugs, freezes or crashes.

Addictiveness: Pocket MapleStory gets a rating of 7 out of 10 for its addictiveness. The game has all it takes to be an addictive title: a complex story, a proper character progression, multiplayer modes and challenges, a complex daily reward system and much more. However, mostly because of the gameplay, there will be few new players (who didn’t play the PC version of the game) who will get addicted with this title. Add that to the fact that RPGs are in general complicated and the result will be a not-so-popular game with a lot of potential.

Overall, Pocket MapleStory gets a rating of 7.4 out of 10. The originality probably saved this title. The old melancholic players will most likely appreciate this makeover but I don’t honestly believe that the game will be one of the popular titles on the market. Let’s hope I am wrong.
