The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds – Master Ore Guide

Link’s sword is the most important weapon in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. This powerful sword can be upgraded with a collectible item known as Master Ore. There are only four of these special items, found in various dungeons. Two are required for the first red upgrade, and two more will be used for the final gold upgrade. We’ve listed where to find the ore so you can get the most powerful Master Sword.

Dark Palace

You need to have Bombs to reach this one. In the dungeon, go to the second floor. Find the brightly lit room with windows. Go north to find a small room with a treasure chest. There will be two switches that lower platforms here. To do this, place a bomb next to the lower switch and run to the platform above. Hit the nearby switch to get up to the higher ledge and run to the north wall. The bomb will explode, flipping the switch and allowing Link to enter the room with the chest.

Lorule Graveyard

You need to have Titan’s Mitt to get this ore. Go to the Sanctuary in Hyrule and use the portal to get to Lorule. Then, go east to reach the graveyard. In the northeast area, use Titan’s Mitt to lift a big rock and uncover some stairs. Go down. There is a switch in the west area of this cave. Press it to open a door and go through. Head northwest and go up the stairs. Keep following the path until you see a treasure chest. Then merge with the eastern wall and walk to get a small key. Use it to open the locked door. Keep going until you reach another room with a switch. Pull the switch and go up the stairs. Merge with the right-hand wall and go to the treasure chest. Open it to get the ore.

Skull Woods

Towards the end of this dungeon, you can find an ore. It is during the part where Link has to find the Eyeballs. In the area where the eyeball is on a high ledge, go north and merge with the wall to reach a treasure chest with the ore inside.

Thieves Hideout

In Thieves Hideout, you can find an ore. After you escort the Thief Girl out of the dungeon, you can find a basement room full of water. In the south corner of the room, there are switches. You stand on one switch, and have Thief Girl stand on the other to open a secret area. Go inside and get the ore from the chest.
