How to Never Miss a Tweet From Your Favorite Tweeters

Twitter has tons of interesting uses no matter what you’re passionate about, and features many ways to organize those you follow.

While there are probably plenty of users you passively follow, sometimes you want to be sure you don’t miss a single tweet from an account. You can easily set yourself up to receive notifications through the Twitter app for both iOS and Android.

On mobile, head to the user you’re interested in subscribing to, and click the little star icon next to their name. Alternatively, on the Web, you can click the settings box next to a user and choose Turn on mobile notifications to do this.

Now, you’ll get a mobile notification from the Twitter app every time they tweet. Obviously, you should use this sparingly, because some people tweet multiple times per hour and getting constant notifications is distracting.

Used in certain situations, however, this can really be useful — perhaps you follow an account that alerts you of big price drops (like on Amazon Prime Day). Or, maybe you just want to enable notifications for a short time when someone you follow is live-tweeting a TV show or event such as the Super Bowl.

If you don’t use the official Twitter app or want to get notifications on other/multiple devices, you can also use IFTTT to set up user notifications. You can use this recipe I created as a skeleton — just put the account name in the Trigger field and you’ll get a notification each time they tweet! If this intrigues you, check out other ways using IFTTT brings order to your social life.
