Video Games 4 Pics 1 Word Is My New Obsession

,Computers,Entertainment A new style of picture puzzle applications have cropped up on the iTunes, Google and Amazon Marketplaces. Bored with the physics-based games (ie. Angry Birds, Cut The Rope), I decided to go in a different direction.

I'm not really into the sports or shooter type games out there. I'm an old-school Tetris loving, Atari owning kind of a guy. I dig the classics and have a hard time wrapping my head around the Xbox or PS3 controllers. Give me an old Joystick and I'm a happy camper.

Anyways, I went to the iOS market and read up on a few of the new games that were out and decided to give 4 Pics 1 Word a try. The concept of the game seems simple enough. They give you 4 pictures that all show an image that illustrates the word you are supposed to guess. You have random tiles in your rack (ie. think Words With Friends) and must guess the word with the letters you have. A correct guess means you advance to the next level.

The first few levels of the game were pedestrian and easy. As I continued to play the game, the clues got more difficult and abstract. Suddenly, I found myself racking my brain, trying to figure it out.

After several hours of mind-numbing bliss on a Memorial Day weekend, I got stuck and could not figure out the answer. My work week kicked back in, so my time became more limited and after several days of not being able to advance, I finally gave in and googled the term "4 Pics 1 Word Cheats".

There were a handful of sites to choose from and I decided to give 4 Pics 1 Word Answers a try. The layout of their site made it super easy to find what I was looking for. The words were separated by size and after a few minutes, I had the answer I was after.

There's nothing that irks me more than a game you really enjoy, but are crummy at playing. This is the case for me. I'm not good at most of the games that I play, but I appreciate the developer's sense of style, user interface and game concept, so much so, that I will keep playing the game, even though I'm terrible.

If you are a fan of picture puzzlers, I highly recommend 4 Pics 1 Word and if you get stuck like me and want a quick solution to keep enjoying the new levels, give 4 Pics 1 Word Answers a visit.
