A Tropican version of the Cold War heats up in this mission, with the US and USSR facing each other in a standoff, with the Caribbean right in the middle. Once again, the focus here is on building up your own military might. However, you must do so diplomatically, so as not to anger either the US or the USSR to the point of going DEFCON 1.

Here you must deal with rampant crime, terrorist threats, unruly citizens, and the mafia, so prepare yourself accordingly. You’ll also reach out to former friends for support, and discover a surprising fact about the event in the previous mission that has you on the run.

With the Docks at the top of the screen, the Crops Overlay shows an area of fertile land shaped like an infinity symbol right below town, most suitable for corn, papaya, and pineapple farms.

Strong fishing waters exist up by the Docks.
Take care when placing farms, however, as this area is prime for logging, and has iron ore, bauxite, salt, and gold deposits in close proximity.

Mission 9: No One Left Behind
This is probably the weirdest and potentially the longest mission of Tropico 4. In it, you’ll be on Nueva Esperanza, dealing with mimes, lawyers, criminals, pirates, doctors, and rebels, while being tasked to build a variety of services in order to appease them, and with stuffing the Treasury. The final objective is a doozy, and you’ll need to play all the strategies you’ve learned to win!
