Welcome to The Walking Dead: The Game walkthrough, taking you through Game Front’s favorite episode yet, Episode 3: The Long Road Ahead. Lee Everett and Clementine continue their long hunt for safety in the third episode to Telltale’s zombie adventure. After escaping the farm and returning to their motel home, the survivors decide to move on when supplies continue to dwindle. This might be a bridging episode, pushing the survivors to all new territory, but it involves all the ghastly decisions and hard leadership you should expect from this stellar adventure series where your choices matter. Zombies aren’t your only problem in The Walking Dead, it’s desperation that’ll get you.

Getting into the Pharmacy
Just like in the other episodes, your decisions will change how the game turns out, so gameplay experience will vary (but that’s the fun of it!). You’ll have a couple of different responses to tell Kenny as you walk down the road (I’m going to answer with mostly positive responses). Once you reach the ladder, press X to climb up it.
So much for that plan. Press the triangle button to move the cursor on the jeep, then move it to the front. Press X to pull the cable and and lock in behind the wheels of the big rig. Walk back over to the jeep and press X near the passenger side door to flip the switch.
After the jeep pulls itself over to the big rig and you climb up, press X to take Kenny’s hand. Damn you, Kenny! I elected to help the girl and then put her out of her misery by shooting her because I’m a nice guy. Kenny will then pull you up and you’ll earn an ACHIEVEMENT for shooting the girl.
After you enter the pharmacy, quickly pick up as many items as you can before Kenny informs you that it’s time to go. Press X to hop over the counter. Mash X to get the Zombies who come shooting through the door off of you, then triangle to push them completely off.
Look to the fridge on the right and press X to tip it over. Follow Kenny, and press X to deliver a couple blows to the zombie pilot that will accost you.

The Broken Flashlight
Following the cutscene, you’ll meet up with Lilly and have a series of choices to make through the confrontation with Kenny. After Lilly explodes and demands that everybody get out, you’ll earn an ACHIEVEMENT .
Following your discussion with Kenny and then Carley, head back through the door into Lilly’s room to try and console her. After she gives you the flashlight and asks you to help her “poke around,” you’ll have a conversation with the every annoying Duck. Once you talk to him, head up the stairs to the right to talk to Carley.
After a weird conversation with plenty of sexual tension with Carley, make sure you ask about the flashlight, which she’ll deny knowing anything about. After you part ways and head back downstairs, go talk to Katjaa and Kenny sitting on the couch in the parking lot.
Talk to each one separately and make the decision to either let them in on your past or not. After you talk to each one, go back and win them over with the trust question and the question about Lily before asking them about the broken flashlight.
Talk to Ben up on the RV, extend the trust again and then ask about the flashlight. Walk around the front of the RV and go inspect the broken glass Katjaa was talking about. Press X to pick it up.
After you turn the corner, press X to check out the “X” written on the wall. Stupid Duck!!! Walk back past the RV and go talk to Clementine, who will be drawing on the pallet. Win her over by asking what she’s doing, then ask about the pink chalk.
After Duck informs you he found the pink chalk, throw the dork a bone and give him a high five. Ask about the flashlight, then inspect the gate before pressing X to pry it open.
Walk down the street and inspect the grate on the left. Press X to take off the vent and press X again to grab the bag of meds.

Bandit Attack
Following the cutscene with Lilly, you’ll have to do you best to pacify the group of bandits, giving Lilly enough time to snipe one of them. After, Carley picks up a gun and shoots the other two, try and quickly take out the last guy before he hops the fence.
After Kenny hands you the rifle, use the left analog stick to peek around the RV and snipe the fools firing at you from behind the dumpsters and the one behind the sofa to the left.
After Ben and Carley run into the RV, you’ll need to snipe a few more thugs on the other side (two behind the barrels and one behind the tipped-over bookcase to the right). Don’t let them get Katjaa and the kids.
Crap! Quickly kill the zombie that attacks Katjaa. Use the rifle to help Carley fend of the group of attacking zombies. After Lilly joins you and you guys storm off, you’ll earn an easy ACHIEVEMENT .
You’ll once again have to play pacifier in order to keep Lilly calm while she loses her mind. After the RV pulls over there will be a really intense dialogue scene with Lilly trying to get to the bottom of the mystery with the meds. Without spoiling too much, you’ll ultimately have to decide to leave Lilly behind or take her with you.
After the scene, go up and talk to Katjaa. Duck’s been bitten! You’ll have to tell Clem and try to console her. After you do so…AHHHHH!!!. Phew, just a dream. Once you reach the train, you’ll receive another easy ACHIEVEMENT .

Train
Talk to Ben, then head through the door to the boxcar next to him. Pick up the map on the floor by the mattress and the water bottle on top of the box. Hop out of the car. Go give the map to Kenny and the water to Kat and Duck.
After you talk to Kat, go talk to Clem. Next, climb up the ladder to inspect the other train car. Open the second set of doors on the outside and grab the tools (there won’t be anything in the two other sets of doors to the right).
Head down to the cab and open the door. Use one of the tools you picked up to make sure the zombie is dead. After Kenny shows up, inspect the notepad. Go talk to Clem again to ask her for something to write with.
Head inside the RV. Look toward the console and grab the pencil in the cup holder. If Lilly is still with you, then you’ll find out that she’s an even bigger bitch than you thought!
Head back to the train cab. Place your cursor over the notepad and press X to reveal the steps to start the train. Turn around and make the control panel match the drawings on the pad. Do 5 and 6, then head back outside, open the first set of doors on the train car to reveal No. 9, flip the switch to the left and then to the right to start up the train.
After Kenny says it’s up and running, open the second set of doors and take the spike remover on the left. Head through the red boxcar and exit through the open door on the other side. Walk to the back of the car and place the cursor over the coupler pin. Press X to use the spike remover to pull the pin out.
Head back through the boxcar and…where did that bum come from!? Tell him the truth to win him over. After you meet up with the group, head for the ladder to talk to Kenny. After everyone gets on board, place your cursor on the throttle and press X to get her going.

Heading Down the Tracks
After you brief conversation with Chuck, pick up the rag on the floor and use it to wipe off his mouth. Head trough the boxcar door and make your way up to the cab to talk with Kenny.
Kenny won’t oblige, so no matter what you say to him, you’ll probably end up getting into a scuffle with him. Block his punches before he finally comes to his senses and stops the train. You’ll earn an ACHIEVEMENT for your efforts.
During this intense conversation between Kat and Kenny, you’ll have the choice on who gets to put Duck out of his misery. Even if you volunteer, Kat will refuse, but you’ll earn their respect.
You’ll have to talk to Clem, but then…what the hell!?!? It will then be up to you once again if you want to take it upon yourself or not to kill Duck.

On the Way to Savannah
After all of the death in that last part, you’ll have a conversation with Chuck about how you need to train Clem to take care of herself. After you talk, move the cursor on the cab door behind you to go through it.
Try to console Kenny, then head through the opposite cab door. Talk to Ben if you want, then head into the boxcar. Pick up the whiskey and take the scissors in Chuck’s bag.
Head back to Chuck and give him the whiskey. After you tell him you also found the scissors, head back to Clem. Tell her that she needs to protect herself and then help teach her to fire a gun. After you set up the glass bottle, you’ll have to guide Clem’s shot. Look for the trail of smoke, then adjust her position accordingly so she hits the bottle.
After you help her break three bottles, talk to her again and convince her that you need to cut her hair. Assure her through the process to put her at ease.
Head back to the cab. Talk to Kenny and tell him that Chuck wanted to know if he needed a drink. After he gets up to go get some, reach for the map in the bin in front of where he was sitting. Go talk to Chuck and tell him you got the map.
Make your way back to the boxcar again. Ben will stop and tell you something, which will give you the option to make several decisions in how you respond. After your talk, head into the boxcar.
Talk to Clem about making a plan when you arrive at Savannah. She’ll want to look for her parents, so you’ll have to decide if you are going to help her or not. Following your conversation, the train will some to a stop and you’ll earn an ACHIEVEMENT .

Omid and Christa
When the two strangers call down from the freeway overpass, say you are friendly (you don’t really have any other options). After they ask you to come up, place the cursor on the ladder and head up.
Again, since you’re a rock in a hard place, say you’re looking for some new friends. After Clem joins you guys, explain your story to win them over and then they’ll help you move the tanker.
Look in the FRS truck and grab the roll of yellow tape in between the cones. Highlight the ladder with the cursor to introduce Omid and Christa to your friends. After everyone breaks off, walk past the ladder toward the train station.
Inspect the signs once you reach the station if you want, then follow Clem around to the door. Inspect the open window above the door (which is locked), then use the cursor to highlight Clem and press X to boost her up through the window. Ask her to jump in to unlock the door for you.
Prop the door open to let in some light. Once again, inspect the space above the locked door, then highlight Clem again and press X to boost her over.
Uh-oh! Back away from the zombies and highlight the tool in the door to pick it up. Bash the first zombie’s head in, then follow the button sequence to kill the other one.
Not another one! Quickly grab the keys from Clem, then move the cursor slightly to the left to put them in and open the door. Press X to open it, then shoot and kill the zombie.
Answer Christa’s bitchy questions, then grab the blowtorch. Console Clem and head back outside. Talk to the group, then follow Omid up the ladder. Highlight the hitch on the tanker, then use the blowtorch. When you find out the hose has a leak, use that tape you found to patch it up.
Use the blowtorch again to start working on the hitch. After you almost die, highlight Omid and press the O button to have him use the blowtorch.
Oh Crap!!! You’ll earn an ACHIEVEMENT here, but you have bigger things to worry about. After Kenny gets going, highlight the blowtorch and press X to kick it over.
Try to convince Omid to jump. He’ll be a puss about it, then when he does jump, he’ll fall off. As he and Christa come running up, highlight Omid first (he did just suffer a hard fall, after all) and press X to pull him up (Christa will make it on her own).
Following the cutscene between you and Kenny, you’ll earn an ACHIEVEMENT and an exciting teaser for Episode 4!
