EA Sports: UFC How to develop a solid Gameplan

Today we would like to give some hints and tips on refining your Gameplan in the new EA Sports UFC Game on Xbox One and Ps4. We will go through defence, takedowns, submissions, techniques and everything in between so get ready to take some notes.

Gamers want to know how to create the best fighter they can and in terms of style, we’d say you should pick a style that you know something about. We decided to go with the kickboxing style because we like to control the distance between us and our opponent. We can have a match where there isn't that much space between our fighter and the opponent or a fight where we can keep the enemy at a distance using kicks and attack when ready. The thing about MMA is that nothing ever stays the same it's always improving so you as a dedicated gamer should be aiming to do the same thing not to let one style define you.

Evolution points are awarded to you when you win matches, win performance of the night or even when the match goes to decision. You can use those points to buy moves or upgrade skills but you have to have strategy when using your evolution points.
Don't be tempted to buy the most flashy moves when you first start earning them early in career mode as this won't help you to win matches. First build your foundations by spending your points on submissions and takedown related skills, the reason being that all fighters can perform choke holds and other submissions but your opponent won't tap out and is most likely to escape if your submission level is low. Of course on the other hand you may go against this advice and buy moves as much as you buy skills and come out with a different result, but it's all about finding out what's best for you and then improving on that.

Submission Tips

Next tip is to complete your submission training no matter how hard or time consuming it seems. Level one and level two are a breeze but once you’ve passed that be prepared to taste failure because things get complicated. It’s essential to master the submission controls and get accustomed to the submission system. No matter how much you want to give up this drill and go on to the next one DON'T. Just put it this way once you get someone like Benson "Smooth" Henderson to submit in training, you'll be able to submit anyone or at least have a very strong chance of doing so.

And once you've completed the training... do some more and more and more. If you're asking why it's pretty simple, the more you practice, the better and more effective you become as a fighter. The better you fight the more evolution points you'll receive which make sure you can execute tricky moves such as the kimora and other skills you have learnt during training. You don't have to do this, you could just advance to the next fight but wouldn't it be wiser to get more practice and more money before doing so? This might not affect your next fight but throughout your 40 fight career this could be the difference between you being a standard fighter or being the champ.

Last but not least create a formidable game plan. Pay attention to your opponent’s skills and what perks they have see where their strengths and weaknesses are. For example if your opponent has a strong stand up but is weak on the ground why don't you take him to the ground and go for a submission instead of making the task more difficult and trying to stand up with him? This is the type of balance, which will help you to keep your stamina bar high against tricky opponents. Attack his weakness to be a more effective fighter and if you've followed this article closely you should have a better understanding of the submission system so taking people down and submitting them shouldn't be a problem.
