Destiny Best Weapon Mods #3

Hammer Forged

+40 Range, -10 Reload

This is well and truly a Mod for Guardians who like to camp waiting for the right shot at range. If you have a decently accurate gun this can more or less turn any weapon into a sniper, just avoid getting in too close with that slowed reload time.

Hand Loaded

+20 Range

Only found on Rare tier weapons, Hand Loaded is near identical in function to Hammer Forged, just with cut stats. That doesn’t mean that it’s useless however, as if you already have a decent amount of range, Hand Loaded is a good way to top it off without a penalty to Reload or any of your other stats.

Headseeker (Pulse Rifle only)

Bonus precision damage on third hit of a burst

It can be tricky to use this pulse rifle exclusive mod right, but if you manage to keep your weapon aimed at your target until the last bullet, the last one to land will get a 25% precision damage boost, often enough to finish your target off!

Stick this on a pulse rifle that has a high stability stat and you’ll get yourself some free extra damage.

Heavy Payload

+40 Blast Radius, -10 Velocity

Provided you can time the shot right with the extra time it will take for your rocket to reach the target, Heavy Payload grants a massive boost to the explosive power of the rocket, meaning that you should be able to compensate for the slower speed quite easily, or even catch a few more enemies in that larger blast radius.

High Caliber Rounds

Boosts flinch effect of your shots

High Caliber Rounds is a little bit of a strange one, as it won’t cause you to do any extra damges, but it will however cause your targets view to jump around drastically more when they are hit.

It might not sound like much, but when you’re in a PvP firefight the added difficulty to aim that this will cause should give you enough time to get the finishing blow.

Final Round

Bonus damage at the end of the magazine

Final Round, similar to Glass Half Full, grants you a 33% damage bonus on the last round in your magazine. This isn’t so handy if you like to get in close, but if you can get a sniper rifle prepped with one round left, you’re sure to get an easy kill.

Javelin

+40 Velocity, -10 Stability

This Mod should make it easier to get a decent shot off with your rocket launcher, ensuring that by the time your rocket arrives at its target, that huge group of enemies you were after hasn’t managed to flee, the added rocket speed making the difference.

Unflinching

Heavily reduces Flinch

This is pretty much the opposite of High Caliber Rounds, and ensures that when you get hit your display does not jump around too much, hopefully allowing you time to recover and get back at whoever took the shot.

Feeding Frenzy

Boosts reload speed to 120% of base after a kill

After getting a kill, you will be able to reload your weapon much faster. This means that after a tough firefight you’ll quickly be able to press forward and take the advantage.

Kneepads

Enables long slide when equipped

You’ll only be able to use this one on shotguns and fusion rifles, but when using it you can do much faster and longer knee slides, which can make for a lot of fun sliding around cover to make a surprise attack on the opposing team in PvP.

Sadly this one does not stack with the Hunter’s longer slide ability.

Life Support

Restore 50% of magazine and reload 150% faster after a near-death kill

If you like to live dangerously then this is absolutely the Mod for you. If you’ve only just survived that last gunfight, then you’ll immediately get an ammo boost and be able to reload much faster so that you can continue to fight for your life.

Lightweight

+2 Agility when weapon is equipped

Lightweight lets you move much faster and jump much higher. If you’re the type who likes to run and gun, then this Mod is sure to let you do some impressive acrobatics.

Luck in the Chamber

33% bonus damage on one round in the magazine

Like the idea of Final Round, but prefer to keep your gun loaded with a little bit more ammo? Well Luck in the Chamber is what you need! One random bullet in each magazine will get a damage boost.

Personally we like using this one on guns with a smaller magazine, like the hand cannon, where it will see much more use, and with a little luck make all the difference.
