Apparently a lot of gamers have trouble defeating Oryx the Taken King from Destiny’s latest expansion pack The Taken King for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4. Oryx is the final boss in the King’s Fall raid. You can’t just shoot him to kill him, you have to exercise a lot of team tactics to take him down and there is a very specific process needed to kill him.

NoahJ456 has a five hour video showing him and his team taking on Oryx in an epic showdown. You can take a look at the video below.

Wait for Oryx to slam his fist and then each team member needs to get on the platforms to take down the ogres.

Kill the ogre sub-bosses to get the buff of immortality. You have to get the buff and then get away and move to where Oryx is as fast as possible. The person who gets the buff of immortality then needs to get on the platform right in front of Oryx and everyone needs to stay as close to the person with the buff in order to survive, this will allow you and the team to survive.

While the buff is still on be sure to shoot Oryx right in the chest when it opens up, do this continually until his whole body begins to glow, this will finally damage him and he will stumble.

Once Oryx stumbles each person needs to run to the orbs that dropped from the ogres and get close to activate them at the same time; then quickly run back to the center where Oryx is and continue doing damage to his open chest while the orbs explode. The orbs’ explosion will do additional damage to Oryx.

Maximum DPS is very important so throw down your weapons in order to increase your DPS. If you don’t do enough DPS you won’t be able to stop Oryx from doing his super AOE attack, which will wipe everyone.

Oryx will then move to the center of the map where he will begin throwing out tons of projectiles. You will need run away fast as possible and run in circles away from your teammates. All you need to do is keep running when he throws those projectiles. Maintain running until he stops throwing the projectiles..

At this point the boss pattern will reset and then you’ll have to do the ogre segment over again to get the immortality buff once again. Sometimes the pattern may change and he will activate an orb and suck players inside. While inside the orb you have to defeat a specter known as a “Shade of Oryx” before you can exit.

Ammo depletion becomes a real problem so kill the minions when they spawn in between his pattern segments.

After Oryx falls when it looks like he’s out of life, run back to the center of the map. His chest will open up again as he preps to do one final super AOE attack. Unleash everything you have to completely finish him off.
