How To Get And Mod The Cerata In Warframe

How To Get And Mod The Cerata In Warframe Posted on October 29, 2015, 9:48 pm By Guest/Staff Warframe

Digital Extremes recently added a new throwing type weapon named the Cerata, mainly dealing puncture base damage that is good for armored units or Grineer, since it also sports toxin based damage. The new weapon is an Infested weapon and can only be obtained through the clan dojo.

The new Cerata weapon deals mainly puncture base damage, which if you are a long time player of Warframe, you should know that the weapon deals more damage to armored units like the Grineer. Something that also makes this weapon better against humanoid armored units is its toxin damage that comes integrated with it.

But, this raises the question: how do you get it? If you are not apart of a clan you will have to join one to get the Cerata. Now if you are apart of a clan and want the new thrown-based weapon, you will need to go to the weapon research lab and hit up the Bio Lab to make this Infested based weapon.

Building the weapon is simple, if you are new it might be a problem since it requires 1,200 Cryotic. For fast Cryotic farming, it’s best to do a low-level Excavation mission with a team and complete 12 dig sites for the given amount (each dig site gives you 100).

Moreover, you will need 5,000 credits, 25 Mutagen samples, 600 Plastids, 800 polymer bundles and of course 1,200 cryotic. After waiting three days for it to complete in the Bio Lab, you will have to build it in your foundry.

You can check out veteran player Mogamu, who shows you how to mod it three different ways with two formas on it, and how to get it. He also details the damage for both melee and thrown damage.

For those that didn’t catch the stats during the video for  the weapon, you turn to the list below.

Melee Damage:

  • Elemental type – Toxin
  • Normal attack – 35.0
  • Critical Chance – 15.0%
  • Crit Multiplier – 2.0x
  • Status chance – 15.0%.

Thrown Damage:

  • Physical damage – 150.0
  • Impact damage – 15.0
  • Puncture damage – 120.0
  • Slash damage – 15.0
  • Status chance – 25.0%.

The weapon can be thrown using the charge attack function like other thrown based weapons, which is silent as well. The throwing attack still counts as melee, so it will do extra bonus damage against un-alerted enemies even when thrown, which also deals damage to enemies when returning.

The thrown-attack deals physical damage, with Puncture based damage as the dominant damage type. You can also combine elemental mods to add-on to the damage, which the Cerata’s innate damage of toxin will be added last.
