Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 is back with its usual shenanigans of scaring the absolute crap out of anyone foolish enough to step into its world. This time, instead of the safety of a security room, the first night leaves you alone in a bedroom with plenty of hiding places for Freddy and one of his animatronic friends to lay low in. The only thing you have to get you through this nightmare is a flashlight and your sense of hearing.
Outside noises will make this game pretty much impossible even if you turn the volume up pretty high. You’re going to want to be able to hear breathing and footsteps so you can know where to be and what door to hold (with your hand by the way, no switches here). So play with headphones or in a very silent room, if possible.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 starts you off in a bedroom with a Freddy teddy bear sitting on the bed. There is a closet in front of you and a door leading into a hallway on both sides of the room. Your only controls are to look into each doorway by clicking and looking behind you by flicking the mouse backwards. You can also shine your flashlight using ctrl and hold a door shut by using the shift key.
The first night goes relatively slow. Rotate between the doors, checking the bed periodically since Freddy will sometimes appear from behind the bed to ruin your life. After playing a few times, it seems as if none of the animatronics appear until after 3 AM. By that hour, you should start to hear heavy breathing. Check between the left and right doors until you spot either Chica or Bonnie coming around the corner. We played through several times and never noticed anyone in the closet, so that door is low priority. Once you do, DO NOT run. Instead, hold the door tightly.
If they show up at either 4 or 5 you can hold the door until 6 AM and complete the night. If one shows up at 3 AM, you will have to release the door and be sure to check on the teddy bear on the bed or else you will die a horrible, horrible death.
Be sure to check back as we’ll be guiding every single night. Good luck!
