Metal Gear Solid V: TPP Guide - How to Get the Hand of Jehuty

If you’re playing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, you’ll want the Hand of Jehuty. Trust me. The Hand of Jehuty is a variation of Big Boss’s bionic arm which allows him to detach the fingers to grab an enemy soldier from a distance. Once the enemy has been grabbed, the fingers will reattach itself to the arm, bringing the enemy straight to your position, effectively teleporting a soldier right in front of you. It’s pretty sick.

To unlock the Hand of Jehuty for development, first you have to beat the Metal Gear Sahelanthropus in mission 31. Doing so will mark the end of chapter 1, and this will unlock a whole slew of new side ops for you to tackle. The side op that you’re looking for is ‘Capture the Legendary Ibis’. For this side op, you’ll want to bring a tranquilizer sniper rifle, and also take D-Dog with you.

Once you land in the mission area, D-Dog will help to scout the area and identify the Ibis bird flying in the air. Use your binoculars to mark its position and wait for the Ibis to land next to the bridge on the opposite side of the cliff. You could try to shoot it in midair too, but it’s much easier to take aim when the Ibis is stationary. There aren’t any enemies in the area, so shooting it with an unsuppressed tranquilizer sniper rifle will work fine too. Once you’ve tranquilized it, Fulton the Ibis back to your base and you’ll be done with the side op.

This should unlock the Hand of Jehuty in your development screen. As shown in the screenshot above, you’ll need 340,000GMP, 120 precious metals, and an R&D level of 28. Develop it, and you’ll have one of the coolest-looking bionic arms in the game.
