For every man you murder, you’ll find a priceless trinket. Such is the law of Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Ok, we haven’t done the math, but we know for sure that you kill an alarming number of dudes and find an alarming number of treasures. Drake’s PS Vita adventure is more full of collectibles than any of its console counterparts, so we’ve explored every inch of every chapter to show you exactly where to look - for everything.
For the sake of brevity, we have refrained from mentioning the collectibles obtained automatically, whether during cutscenes or by forced story progression. You cannot miss those. Also, when standing in a spot from which a photo can be taken, a camera icon will flash in the top right corner of your screen. Since the reference photos are then made available, and are easy to follow, we’re only showing where you’ll need to stand to receive a prompt from the game.
Happy Hunting!

Chapter 1
Photo 1: Peligro!
As soon as the level begins, run immediately over to the driver side of your Jeep. A photo prompt will appear.
Photo 2: Rope Bridge
Just after the short cutscene where Drake and Dante view the bridge, you’ll be standing exactly where you need to for this photo.
Treasure 1: Kuna Death Mask
From where you took the photo of the bridge, walk forward and drop off the ledge. Climb down and to the left. The treasure is nestled in the cliff face.
Charcoal Rubbings #1 and #2
You can’t miss these, since the game forces you to obtain them before allowing you to proceed. Investigate each pillar.
Treasure 2: Survey Compass
Immediately after obtaining the rubbings, do not proceed across the bridge. Instead turn around and head in the direction Drake is facing in this screenshot. The treasure will be on the ground just a few meters ahead.
Treasure 3: Musket Pieces
Once you reach the other side of the bridge, turn to face it and drop off the ledge to your left. Shimmy down the cliff face to find this treasure.
Charcoal Rubbings #3 and #4
Again, you are required to obtain these before progressing. There’s one on each column.
Glyph 1: First Dawn of the Sun
Collecting this glyph is mandatory; it will be pointed out by Dante.
Photo 3: Olucupinele Pictoglyphs
As soon as you’ve climbed the cliff face on which you found the first glyph, look left for a fallen tree. Climb up alongside it using the ledges, and at the top of the area you’ll get a photo prompt.
Treasure 4: Survey GPS
This treasure is very near where you need to stand for photo #3. It’s on the ground under the fallen tree.
Glyph 2: Aspect of the Teochicatol
At about the halfway point of your climb up the pictoglyph wall, shimmy to your left and drop onto a ledge. Here you’ll find an alternate set of handholds leading up to a glyph.
Treasure 1: Yomosakotet
As soon as chapter 2 begins, climb about halfway up the statue in front of you, to the point seen in the screenshot. You’ll then be able to leap to the ledge on the left and grab this treasure from the grass.
Photo 1: Takwichunna
Soon after treasure one, you’ll drop down from a relatively high ledge and see Dante waiting for you ahead, standing on a fallen tree. Turn around at this point and look at the ledge you just came down from for a photo prompt.
Glyph 1: Aspect of Cuhtlitztonal
From the log bridge, Dante will point out a glyph resting in the eye of a statue. Make your way over to it and cut through the bamboo. Climb up the statue to reach the glyph.
Charcoal Rubbing 1
As soon as you meet up with Dante back on solid ground, hop across the small gap then turn to your left. Leap across to the handhold and climb down the wall onto a log in the river. From here you can get a charcoal rubbing.
Charcoal Rubbing 2
Now start catching up to Dante. Just before you reach him, look for this patch of bamboo to your right. Cut through it, climb the vine found behind it, then up the column.
Photo 2: Abandoned Truck
After killing the first two hostiles you meet, head over to this rock and face the construction vehicle. A photo prompt will pop up.
Photo 3: The Road
Once you’re standing on the roof of the truck, a photo prompt will appear.
Glyph 2: Aspect of Ahucheactl
Follow Dante off the back of the truck, but instead of going left with him, go right and cut through the bamboo. Follow this path until you reach a wall. Climb up to find a glyph.
Photo 4: Tree Poison
There will be a big firefight after the cutscene in which you meet Chase. She will then point out a rope and begin climbing it. Instead of following her, turn around and climb onto the raised bit of earth at the center of this area. From there, step onto the wooden plank bridge to your left. A photo prompt will appear.
Charcoal Rubbing 3
Continue across the wooden plank bridge and past the cots. There is a symbol on the rock face in front of you from which you can create a rubbing.
Glyph 3: Aspect of Cipatli
Go back to the center area and run across the second, longer wooden plank bridge. At the end, on the ground next to a skull, you’ll find this treasure.
Photo 5: Glow-In-The-Dark Mining
After a short cutscene with Chase, you’ll be drawn into another firefight. Take out your enemies then turn around and look for this metal gate with the radiation logo on it. Approach it, and a photo prompt will appear.
Glyph 4: Aspect of Mayhuixico
Soon after following Chase across the log bridge, look to the rock wall on your left for some handholds. Climb to the ledge above and grab this glyph from a statue’s eye socket.
Charcoal Rubbing 4
After using the long rope to rappel down the cliff face (taking out some goons along the way) check nearby for a patch of bamboo. Cut it down and climb up the wall to find a symbol ripe for a charcoal rubbing.
Photo 6: Ibeorgun Pictoglyphs
Move away from the huge cliff face you just climbed down and turn to face it. At the proper distance, a photo prompt will appear.
Glyph 1:Aspect of Temopichlitec
Once the bridge falls, leap from it to the cliff face. Instead of going left, as the camera suggest, shimmy right to find a glyph.
Glyph 2: Aspect of Pocatexcatil
Use the sniper rifle to save Chase, but instead of hopping across the gap to the higher ledge, drop down. Shimmy down and to your right to find a glyph.
Charcoal Rubbing 1
Now climb back up and proceed across that gap. Just beyond it, you’ll spot some bamboo on your right (if Drake begins shuffling along the narrow edge, you’ve gone too far). Clear the bamboo, climb up, and clear some more bamboo to find a rubbing opportunity.
Treasure 1: Sextant
While following the tire tracks through the jungle, you’ll run into your first shotgun-wielding baddy. Take him out, then climb the wall to your right. At the top, you’ll find this treasure in the sifting pan on the ground.
Photo 1: Equipment
As you make your way down the next slope, look for two red barrels across from a truck. Approach these barrels to reveal a photo prompt.
Charcoal Rubbing 1
As soon as the chapter begins, look at the wall to the right of the bars. There are some tick marks here for you to rub.
Treasure 1: Class Ring
Climb the crates in the corner of your cell in order to get up to a second level. Cross the beam but do not enter the next room with the fire. Instead, jump to a beam to your left, shimmy left, and climb into a different room. Drop down and you’ll be in the cell adjacent to your original one. The treasure is on a shelf.
Photo 1: Guerro’s Persuasion Room
In the same cell where you found the class ring, walk towards the wooden chair. A photo prompt should appear.
Glyph 1: Dance of the Sky Gods
After a short cutscene in which you obtain a machete, you’ll need to cut through a tarp. Proceed straight ahead to the other side of the room where you’ll find a glyph on a pile of debris.
Treasure 2: Measure Once, Cut Twice
After you monkey-bar across the rafters, you’ll leap to a pipe. Instead of going left as the camera suggests, slide down the pipe and shimmy to the right. This leads to a ledge where you’ll find a sink; inside that sink rests a treasure.
Treasure 1: Victorian Pendant
After taking out the second enemy of the chapter, move past where Chase is standing and turn left to find a grey tarp. Cut through it with your machete. Enter this new little area and turn left to find a treasure on the ground in the corner.
Photo 1: Cooking Poison
After using Chase’s crate to climb up, follower her, but when she turns left, continue straight ahead into a small room with a wood-burning stove. A photo prompt will appear.
Glyph 1: Tear of Chihopotex
After the truck crash, you’ll need to find another way to reach Chase. Backtrack to a yellow pipe and climb onto the roof. Cross the plank bridge you see, but instead of proceeding, drop down to the ledge below, as seen in the screenshot.
Charcoal Rubbing 1
After meeting up with Chase, you’ll find yourself in an area full of baddies. Instead of going off to the right to take out the first one, head left and look for this wooden gravestone in the corner. You can also do this after clearing the area.
Treasure 2: How to Replace Bananas
If you haven’t already, kill all the enemies in this area. Look for a deck somewhere along the perimeter. Climb up and check the barrel to your right for a treasure.
Glyph 2: Aspect of Kwanuhuatli
From the same area, look for a slope leading up. Follow it around to the right until it ends. On the ground next to a stack of tires, you’ll find this glyph.
Glyph 1: Aspect of Atchihuatli
You can actually see this glyph from glistening in the distance from your starting position. Hop down to the ground and go straight ahead. The glyph is on the ground in the corner.
Treasure 1: Copper Locket
After you boost Chase up, take out the enemy that appears and go under the shack as your friend suggests. Instead of just passing through, look for a crate next to a flaming barrel. Climb up here and around to your left until you’re in a new room. Check on top of the white clothes washer for this treasure.
Glyph 2: Aspect of Imnahicatol
Drop down and proceed through to the other side of the shack. As soon as you emerge, turn around and look up to spot a ledge with a yellow tarp on it. Climb up here to find a glyph.
Photo 1: Storing Chemicals
Drop down and walk past the left side of the ledge you were just on. Loop all the way around the area in a counter-clockwise direction until you find a room blocked off by a grey tarp (notice the ledge in relation to this tarp in the screenshot). Cut the tarp and enter the room to find a photo op.
Treasure 2: Pour Carefully
After you jump from the sign to the wooden deck, the deck will fall (of course). Climb up it, but instead of walking forward to meet Chase, jump up onto the window to your right. Shimmy around the building and drop down onto a smaller deck, where you’ll find a treasure.
Photo 2: Carry A Big Stick
Soon after you meet up with Chase, a firefight ensues. Take out the enemies from where you are, then walk over to the ledge on your right but do not drop down. A photo prompt will appear.
Treasure 1: Emerald Brooch
Clear the first big room of enemies, then look for these hay bales on the same side of the room from which you entered.
Treasure 2: Watch Fob
From where you found the brooch, continue around the edge of the room in a clockwise direction. Check this drawer for another treasure.
Photo 1: Map of Guerro’s Territories
Look for a map at the far side (from where you entered) part of the room.
Treasure 3: Money Clip
At the center of this room you’ll spot a yellow pipe. Climb up and follow it until you can swing into a room on the second floor. Walk a few feet forward and grab this treasure from near the hay bales.
Photo 2: How to Blow Up A Country
In the same small room where you found the money clip, you should receive a photo prompt if you maneuver into the center.
Glyph 1: Aspect of Itzicaltli
Drop down into the large room where you fought the enemies and climb back up that yellow pipe. Instead of following it all the way, this time you should drop down to the blue beam below. Shimmy along to the right until you find a glyph.
Glyph 2: Aspect of Koahuatqul
Immediately after passing through the door you opened with Chase, turn left to find this glyph on a table.
Photo 3: Revolutionary Graffiti
Follow Chase. She’ll hop over a short railing, but instead of following her, enter the small room to the left. Inside you’ll find a photo op.
Treasure 1: Wedding Set
As soon as the chapter begins, you’ll find yourself crossing a bridge inside a silo. Jump off the right side of the bridge and take the rope down to ground level. On the ground, near where you land, you’ll find a treasure.
Glyph 1: Aspect of Volcan Baru
After a short cutscene, don’t head up to stairs to engage the enemies just yet. Instead, turn around and cut your way through this tarp.
Treasure 2: Chemists Are Your Friends
Now head up the stairs towards the baddies, but before engaging them, check this pail for a treasure.
Photo 1: Recruitment Poster
After the firefight, Chase will run across to the other side of the area and turn around. Before joining her, head over near this truck for a photo op.
Glyph 2: Aspect of Eternity
Walk around the truck and to this little inlet, still quite a distance from Chase.
Treasure 3: Breathe Deep
Catch up to Chase for a short cutscene and finish the gunfight that ensues. Instead of climbing the rope, head past it into the area you couldn’t reach before (since Chase was blocking it). Inside this shed, behind the pallets, you’ll find a treasure.
Glyph 1: Aspect of Cuozicaltli
This glyph is in the same room in which you begin the chapter. Check this table.
Treasure 1: Hair Brush
After the first firefight, a large door will open and a shotgun-wielding baddy will enter. Take him out, but instead of going through the large door, look for a smaller door to the right. Go through this door and immediately turn left. Check the drawer here for a treasure.
Glyph 2: Aspect of Huixontonal
After battling the two shotgun-wielding baddies, another large door will open. Pass through the doorway, but instead of going up the stairs, turn right and get this glyph from the corner of the room.
Photo 1: Radio Free Panama
Climb the first set of stairs, but don’t follow Chase up the second when she says “Guerro’s office is up these stairs.” Instead, head right and into the nearby room for a photo op.
Photo 2: Transporting Explosives
After the short cutscene in which Drake notices the boxes of dynamite, stand near the dangling chain and a photo prompt should appear.
Treasure 2: Guerro’s Account Books
After climbing the dangling chain and leaping into the room on the second floor, check this table along the right wall for a treasure.
Photo 3: IOA Survey Map
From treasure two, move to the nearby door and open it, allowing Chase to enter. After the scene, climb the ladder and walk over to the large map on the wall for a photo op. This isn’t found automatically, but you have to take the photo to proceed.
Glyph 1: Aspect of Omatihictoya
After the sniping portion, climb up the nearby ladder (boost Chase up first) and turn right to find a glyph on the ground near some machinery.
Photo 1: Don’t Bathe Here
From Glyph 1, turn around and walk towards the railing. If you stand where the screenshot shows, a photo prompt will appear.
Photo 2: A Forgotten Revolution
Drop off the building into some tall grass (where Chase is waiting) and turn left. Loop around the side of the building and walk to the edge of the river. A photo prompt will appear.
Glyph 2: Aspect of Darkness
Go back to where you dropped down into the grass and head right this time. In the corner, where the building and the fence meet, you’ll find this glyph.
The locations of the glyphs and treasures in
Ch. 11 break one of the fundamental rules of video game collectibles. You can
(and probably will, depending on your difficulty setting) be killed by gunfire
while trying to pick up these items, and you cannot backtrack. If you are going
for the survivor trophy on your first playthrough, we recommend leaving these
collectibles for another time.
Treasure 1: The Sigil of Power
This treasure is on the porch of the chapter’s second hut. We’re just behind the tree in this screenshot.
Glyph 1: Aspect of Xiumixihuatli
This glyph can be picked up from on top of this rock. Chase will mention “something shiny” as you two run from the baddies.
Treasure 2: US Passport
Immediately after having a melee with the enemy in your way, Chase will climb up a ledge. Do not follower her. Instead, go around to the left and grab the treasure as seen in this screenshot.
Glyph 2: Aspect of Night and Day
Now climb up the ledge after Chase, but instead of continuing to follow her, run to the location seen in the screenshot. On normal or harder, it is very difficult to obtain Treasure 2 and Glyph 2 in one go without being killed.
You can’t stop during your float down the
river. To pick up collectibles, tilt your Vita in the appropriate direction and
tap the treasure icon when it appears. These screens may not be very helpful,
but thankfully, the treasures are very easily visible.
Glyph 1: Aspect of the Solstice
This glyph is to the left, just after your stream and another join.
Glyph 2: Aspect of Mud
After going over the short waterfall, the camera perspective will change. As soon as it reverts behind you, look to your right.
Treasure 1: Escape compass
About 10 seconds after grabbing the second glyph, you’ll be able to nab this treasure from the left side of the river.
Glyph 3: Aspect of Temocazuti
In another 10 seconds (give or take) you’ll spot the chapter’s last glyph on the left side of the river.
Chapter 13
is actually just a cutscene featuring a conversation between Chase and Drake.
All collectibles are all found during the cutscene. Basically, touch anything
you see that glimmers. Don’t worry: you’ll have multiple opportunities to touch
each treasure, as the camera angles change frequently. Locations of treasures
include the table on which Drake and Chase are working and the display cases
around the room. The game automatically saves whenever you find a treasure,
which means you don’t have to get them all in one go; if you miss one, you can
simply retry the chapter.
Above: Start tapping!
There are 10
collectibles in Chapter 13:
Perez’s
Spectacles
Book of the Sete Cidades
Sete Cidades Map
Parchment of Hidden Codes
Animal Nuchus
Stone Burial Figure
Monkey Dagger
Goblet of Teochicatol
Ritual Mask
Kuna Axe
Photo 1: Perez’s IOA Truck
In the area where the chapter begins, find this stone column (notice the blue truck in the background). There is a small yellow handhold, as you can see above, that will allow you to get to the top. Once up there, a photo prompt will appear.
Charcoal Rubbing 1
There are two openings in walls that you can hop through in this area. One leads to the progression of the level, and one leads to a rubbing. The latter is about 50 feet in front of the brown jeep (notice the perspective of the screenshot). Climb through the opening and find a handhold near where the wall ends. Climb to the very top of the wall and hop over to the other side.
Glyph 1: Aspect of Xilomalinal
Soon after you boost Chase up and follow her via the crate she kicks down, you’ll notice she’s begun climbing a tall column. Run past the column until you run into a patch of bamboo. Cut through it and walk straight ahead to find these handholds on the wall to your right. Climb up to find a glyph.
Photo 1: Statue of Arius
As soon as the chapter begins, turn around and walk towards the door you were trying to push open during the cutscene. Look to the right and you’ll notice a statue. Walk towards it and a photo prompt will appear.
Photo 2: Perez’s Sifting Box
After breaking through the brick wall with Chase, head off to the right. At the end of this path you’ll find a hole through which you can drop down into a small room. Inside this room is a photo op.
Photo 3: Perez’s Gear
After climbing up a ladder to join Chase, immediately look at the stone wall for a way to climb even higher. You’ll find a small room at the top.
Glyph 1: Aspect of the Crescent
Just after the short cutscene at the wooden door, you’ll reach a spot where Drake has to leap over to a broken column. Instead of doing that, look to the right (in the direction Drake is facing in the screenshot) for some handholds on the wall. Follow these handholds until you reach a glyph stuck in the wall.
Glyph 2: Aspect of Huezicaltli
Return to wall with the first handhold. To the immediate right is a narrow passage way through which Drake can squeeze. Find the glyph on the ground once through.
Strange Relic
After jumping across the two columns, you’ll reach the other side of the locked wooden door. Face it, then turn around and look for handholds leading up the wall. Climb to the top to find the strange relic, which you apparently rub clean with something other than your hands. Let’s not think too much about it...
Glyph 3: Aspect of Coyahuatli
This glyph is in the eastern most part of the chamber with all the chimera. Head through the maze section and look for this area where the sunlight is peeking through the roof. Climb the handholds on one side of the wall until you can go no further, then leap to the opposite wall to reach the glyph.
Finding the rest of the charcoal rubbings is required in order to proceed. If you’re having trouble locating them, check the map you were given at the start of the section.
The first part of Chapter 16 is a lot like 13, in that you collect treasures during a cutscene. The following 6 items can be obtained by tapping the glimmering spots on the stone table during chapter 15’s first cutscene:
Woodcut of the Serpent Guardians
Woodcut of the Spanish Massacre
Journal of Vincent Perez
Woodcut of Coronado
Woodcut of Marcos and Esteban
Woodcut of Marcos and the Doorway to the Gods
Glyph 1: Aspect of Huacatani
With the vantage point from which you solve the statue puzzle as your reference, check these vines on the right side of the room for a glyph.
Glyph 2: Aspect of Hechitocitzi
After you enter the tomb, meet up with Chase and a short cutscene involving a grave will ensue. After the scene, look for this nearby statue and grab the glyph from the ground below it.
Photo 1: Statue of Aurea
In the same room, walk over to the corner left of the statue from under which you found glyph 2. A photo prompt should appear.
Glyph 1: Aspect of the Moon
Soon after Chapter 17 begins, you’ll find yourself in a large room with several enemies. Climb the massive staircase up to the top, then look for this ledge off to the right. Leap down from the stairs, or hop over the railing at the top, and climb down. From this ledge you can grab the glyph from the wall.
Glyph 2: Aspect of Malzintola
From the top of the stairs, continue along until you spot a gate with tree roots covering it. Press up against the wall to the right of this gate to find another glyph.
Treasure 1: Silver Locket
Eventually you’ll find yourself at ground level with Dante, fighting off a group of soldiers and one sniper. Clear this area, then check the right side of the room for some coffins. This treasure is next to one of the coffins in the back.
Glyph 3: Aspect of Amnalatau
You’ll eventually come upon a room where a turret gunner will be suppressing you. Climb around to take him out, then run to the ledge on the other side of the turret to find a glyph (notice Drake’s location in relation to the turret in our screenshot).
Glyph 1: Aspect of Atlahuatli
As soon as the chapter begins, walk over to this caved-in area to find a glyph.
Glyph 2: Aspect of Mixuatchi
Just after the cutscene involving Chase being pulled up by a rope, walk towards the camera and down the steps. The glyph is on the ground where the stairs end.
Glyph 1: Aspect of Itzopochtzi
After you defeat the guy with the minigun, run up the stairs into the room from which he came. Take out the remaining baddies from inside this room, then drop down back to ground level. Turn around and go underneath the room you were just in to find a glyph on the ground.
Glyph 2: Aspect of Ibeorgun
After crossing the long and narrow wooden bridge, hope over the short wall but do not approach the flaming trucks, for that would end the chapter. Instead loop around to the left and find the staircase pictured above (notice Drake’s relation to the flaming trucks). Use the stairs to reach a platform where you can find a glyph.
Once again, you’ll need to tap some treasures during the opening cutscene. You can find them on the bar and on the table. There’s also one on the small end table near the end of the cutscene which, unlike the others, can be easily missed. See below:
These are the collectibles you’ll find in this chapter:
Carving: Emblem of Huixontonal
Carving: Emblem of Temocazuti
Carving: Emblem of Coyhontonal
Treasure 1: Chainmail Shirt
As soon as you have control, swipe up instead of down and you’ll paddle the canoe backwards and into this treasure.
Treasure 2: Marcos de Niza’s Rosary
This will be on the right side of the river as you go along. You can’t steer, so the treasure icon will appear regardless of whether or not you actually see the glimmer.
Charcoal Rubbing 1
You’ll row past a broken column to your right. As you do, the charcoal rubbing icon will appear.
Carving 1: Emblem of Yomosakotet
You’ll pass by this emblem soon after a cutscene. It’s on a rock to your right.
Photo 1: Quiviran Aqueducts
As soon as you step foot onto dry land, a photo prompt will appear on screen.
Carving 2: Emblem of Ayhanitico
From where you took photo one, walk straight up the stairs and cut through the bamboo patch. You’ll find a carving on the other side.
Charcoal Rubbing 2
After leaping across the large gap reach the wall (see the screen), instead of climbing up to meet Sully, drop down and shimmy along the ledge to the left. Pull yourself up when you can and get this rubbing.
Carving 3: Emblem of Tochemotli
Immediately after crossing the narrow wooden bridge, drop off the ledge to your left and climb down. On the ground in the corner you’ll find a carving.
Charcoal 1
From where you’re taking cover at the beginning of the chapter, walk forward about 20 feet then turn right around the corner. You’ll find a stone on the ground which can be rubbed.
Charcoal 2
From where you begin the chapter, you’ll have the option between two paths in front of you. Take the right path, pass under the arch, then climb the structure on your right. At the top, on the left, you’ll find a place to do a rubbing.
Carving 1: Emblem of Omatihictoya
Leap from the top of the structure where you found charcoal 2 to the central structure running through the area. Pull yourself up to find a carving on the wall to your left.
Carving 2: Emblem of Teochicatol
Once you’ve used the turret to cover Sully and the short cutscene that ensues has ended, check the raised ledge to the right of the turret (if you consider the direction in which it faces to be forward). Notice Drake’s position in relation to the turret in the screen above.
Carving 3: Emblem of Mahuaquiotex
Just beyond the part where you give Sully a boost, you’ll notice this structure on your left. Climb the rope to the top to find a carving.
Charcoal Rubbing 3
After vaulting over a log and dropping down about 10 feet, continue on and look for this wall to your right. Make sure to get the rubbing.
Treasure 1: Spanish Horse Bit
Soon after charcoal rubbing 3, you’ll come upon a massive wall. Sully will climb up, but you should go under it via a small archway to the left. Continue along this path and you’ll come upon a bamboo patch. Cut through it to find this treasure.
Treasure 2: Temocazuti
As you and Sully climb along the massive wall, you’ll eventually reach the spot pictured above where you need to leap across a gap to some handholds. When you do, instead of following Sully to the right, drop down and use the vine to reach the ground, where you’ll find this treasure.
Carving 1: Emblem of Naltanauhico
To the right of the chapter’s second piece of cover (seen above), you can drop down off the ledge. Follow the handholds down into a room where you’ll find a carving.
Charcoal Rubbing 1
To the left of the chapter’s second piece of cover, you’ll notice some handholds leading up (seen above). Climb them and follow the path you find to a place where you can do a rubbing.
Treasure 1: Planispherical Astrolabe
On your way to taking out the turret, you’ll come upon a rope leading up a wall. Once you reach it, turn around and look for a way to climb up to your left. This leads you to the top of an archway where a treasure can be found.
Carving 2: Emblem of Mahtlioztli
After climbing down a long rope, you’ll finally be behind the turret. Instead of using it, check the ground off to its right for a carving.
Carving 3: Emblem of Namotohuatil
After using the turret, continue on and climb a long rope up a wall. Once at the top, climb to the higher portion to your right to find a carving.
Carving 4: Emblem of Chihopotex
Swing on the first swingable rope to reach a small platform. Grab the carving from the wall right in front of where you land.
Charcoal Rubbing 2
After the short cutscene where Sully asks Drake to lower the bridge, run forward off the ledge (you can take out the enemies first) and stand on the head of a large snake statue. Leap from here to a ledge below you and to your left, the drop down and use the handholds to go even lower. At the very bottom you’ll find yourself in a long hallway. Run to the end to find something worth rubbing.
Charcoal Rubbing 3
Immediately after the cutscene with Sully and (another) turret, turn around and climb up the wall you see. Once at the top, continue up the stairs to find something to rub.
Treasure 2: Conquistador Spur
As you head back from Charcoal Rubbing, look for this gap to the right of the drop off. Leap across it and grab the treasure from at your feet.
Carving 5: Emblem of Cuozicaltli
You’ll eventually come upon a huge gap that you’ll need to leap across to meet up with Sully. When the camera changes so that you can line up the jump more easily, walk towards the screen to find a carving.
Photo 1: Natucohuatil’s Road
After leaping across the gap to reach Sully, head right instead of the suggested left. Drop off the ledge and climb down to find a photo op.
Carving 6: Emblem of Echictlamoya
Go back to Sully, run past him, jump across the gap, and climb the wall. At the top, turn left instead of going straight. You’ll find some bamboo; cut through it to find a carving.
Photo 2: Temple Outpost
Continue on and up the short set of stairs. Stay to your left and run into the corner. A photo prompt will appear. If you don’t stay to the left, a cutscene will trigger and the chapter will end.
Soon after
Chapter 24 begins, you’ll be involved in a massive firefight. Clear the entire
area of baddies, then head back up to where you entered the area (which is slightly
uphill if you forgot) so that the following directional references make sense.
Treasure 1: Bridle Jingles
Walk forward and stay to your right, looping around in that direction as the terrain allows you to. The stone walls will make two corners; check the first one for a treasure.
Photo 1: Pyramid of Omatihictoya
Continue from treasure 1, and look for a very short set of stairs just a few feet away. Climb them and stand next to a lone column. A photo prompt will appear.
Charcoal Rubbing 1
Continue past that lone column up a slight slope and keep to the right. You see a symbol etched into the stone wall, which is also a dead end.
Carving 1: Emblem of Hechitocitzi
Walk back towards the lone column and head off to the right of it. Go around to the other side of a short stone wall to find this carving on the ground in the corner. Notice Drake’s position to the column in the screenshot, which is at the center.
Charcoal Rubbing 2
Go back to the column and look towards the waterfalls. There will be two towers in the middle of the area. Climb up the one on the right to find an opportunity for a rubbing.
Charcoal Rubbing 3
There is another rubbing opportunity on the other tower. Circle around the tower and find a rope to start your climb. (If you climbed this tower first, you can leap from it to the other tower.)
Carving 2: Emblem of Huacatani
From the tower where you found charcoal 3, face the waterfalls, then turn left. You want to head as far as you can in this direction. When you reach the edge of the area, turn around to find a patch of bamboo on the far side of this ‘third’ tower. Cut through to find a carving.
Carving
3: Emblem of Machontonal
From where you found carving 2, head back to the ‘first’ tower (the one on which you found rubbing 2) and run past the right side of it. Descend the short set of stairs, turn left, then turn right again. This carving is on the ground in the corner, just behind a short wall.
Carving 4: Emblem of Xolochimonal
This carving is found kitty corner to carving 3. Look for the waterfall pictured above and pass underneath it.
Carving 5: Emblem of the Tricksters
If you look left of the waterfall through which you passed to find carving 4, you’ll see some handholds leading up. Climb to the top, turn right, and run until you hit the dead end. The carving is on the ground there.
Charcoal Rubbing 4
From where you climbed up to this area, head left this time. There are some symbols on the wall from which you can make a rubbing.
Carving 6: Emblem of the Guardians
Finally, meet up with Sully, give him a boost, and follow him up. Climb up the nearby vine, then turn left when you get to the top. Cut through this bamboo patch to find a carving.
Charcoal Rubbing 5
Continue with the chapter. After Drake says “I can see my house from here,” you’ll be on solid ground. Walk off the ledge, as seen in the screenshot, and climb down to find something to rub.
Charcoal Rubbing 6
Go back to Sully, then hop across the two columns. Before climbing the rope, get a rubbing from this wall on your right.
Charcoal Rubbings 1-2
In the area where you encounter the first group of enemies, clear them out, then turn to face Sully. You can climb up the side of the two columns on the left to get a rubbing from each.
Charcoal Rubbing 3-4
The two columns to the right cannot be scaled without first hopping onto shorter, nearby stone blocks.
Treasure 1: Marcos’s Compass
Before giving Sully a boost, drop of this ledge and climb down to find this treasure in the corner.
Carving 1: Emblem of Song
After you boost Sully and follow him up, you’ll run into three enemies. Check the wall to the right of this section for a carving.
Charcoal Rubbing 5
Round the next two corners and climb onto the top of this massive tower. You can get a rubbing from the altar in the center. You’ll have to get it after the cutscene.
Charcoal Rubbing 1
Drop down off the platform on which you began the chapter and hug the right side of the area. When you run into a wall, a rubbing prompt should appear. Notice Drake’s position in relation to the floodlight.
Charcoal Rubbing 2
From rubbing 1, turn around and walk just a few feet over to this crumbled statue.
Treasure 1: Barrote Style Nails
Climb up the tower which has the floodlight in front of it. Leap from this tower to the west, which is the one Drake is facing in this screenshot.
Carving 1: Emblem of Itzlihautzin
After the cutscene where Drake and Sully jump, turn around and look for some handholds. Climb around and drop down into this alcove to find a carving.
Treasure 2: Friar Marcos’s Ring
From carving one, turn around, but don’t jump back up to the handhold. Instead, follow the ledge to the left and drop down where you can and descend all the way down. When you finally touch down in some water, walk towards the camera to find this treasure.
Charcoal Rubbings 3-4
After you catch up to Sully, you’ll be attacked by a group of baddies. Clear the area, then look for these two snake statues. Each one has something to rub.
Carving 2: Emblem of Yatilicoyapoca
After the cutscene where Sully and Drake hash out their plan, kill all of the enemies, then backtrack up the stairs from which you came. Along the way, to your right, there’s a bamboo patch. Cut through it to find a carving.
Charcoal Rubbing 5
Head over to the chopper. It is pointing almost directly at a wall that contains a symbol ripe for rubbing.
Carving 3: Emblem of Itzicaltli
Run in the direction that the chopper’s tail is pointing. Off to your left, at the foot of a lone column, is a carving.
Charcoal Rubbings 6-7
Just like earlier in the chapter, these two snake statues can be rubbed.
Carving 4: Emblem of Tecatohuatli
Head into the temple, take out the enemies, then hop over the short wall to your right to find a carving.
Charcoal Rubbings 8-9
As you continue into the temple you’ll see this lighted column. To the left of this column are two spots that can be rubbed.
Carving 1: Emblem of Natucohuatli
As soon as chapter 27 begins, simply turn left and walk over here to the waterfall.
Charcoal Rubbing 1
Face the waterfall, then turn around and run past the flood light and up the stairs, then turn to face the nearby column. Notice Drake’s position in relation to the waterfall in this screen.
Photo 1: Temple of Teochicatol
Walk back down the stairs and make an immediate left. Take a few steps into this corner and a photo prompt will appear.
Carving 2: Emblem of Imtaysoyunna
Proceed with the chapter until you reach the section where Drake swings from beam to beam (pictured above). Pull yourself up at the end of this section and walk a few feet to the right to find a carving.
Charcoal Rubbing 2
Take out the chapter’s first group of enemies, then look for the doorway with a floodlight next to it (near where the fight begins). Pass through it and walk until you hit the wall. A rubbing prompt should appear.
Carving 3: Emblem of Atiahuatli
From rubbing 1, turn left and climb up the short ledge. Move forward to where the corridor turns and check the ground for a carving.
Charcoal Rubbing 3
Cross the bridge you likely fought on and turn right. Run up the stairs and look for this rubbing opportunity on a column.
Charcoal Rubbing 4
Head back to the bridge and head in the direction opposite rubbing 2. This rubbing opportunity lies just underneath a set of handholds.
Photo 2: Gateway to Mitzican
After using a rope to swing across the wide gap, kill the enemies, then walk over to the box of grenades. A photo prompt will appear.
Charcoal Rubbing 5
As you make your way from the grenade box to the next rope, look to the right for a chance to rub.
Carving 4: Emblem of Amnalatua
Climb up the rope and run around left side of the staircase instead of going up. Cut through the bamboo patch here to find a carving.
Treasure 1: Spanish Halberd
As you walk down the corridor, you may spot a treasure, but a cutscene will trigger before you reach it. After the scene, backtrack through the doorway and check corner here.
Treasure 2: Xiumixihuatli
Use the sniper rifle to kill the enemies in distance, then leap to the massive column on your left. Climb down a bit, but instead of leaping across the gap to grab the wall, shimmy clockwise around the column, then drop down to the ground to find a treasure.
Treasure 3: Statuette of Teohixtamo
Soon after you get past the monkey bar section, you’ll be back on your feet and have to take out four enemies. From this area, turn around to find a canvas. Cut through it and get the treasure.
Treasure 4: Statuette of Hazolitectal
After the second monkey bar section, you’ll find yourself on a wooden platform having to deal with two snipers. Take them out, then look for this stalactite to your right. Jump to it, climb up and to the left, then leap to the nearby ledge. Cut through the canvas and continue on until you find a treasure.
Photo 1:Zetocatli Monoliths
After you lower the bridge, cross it, then walk right, to the edge of the wooden platform. A photo prompt will appear.
Treasure 5: Statuette of Apacitapanol
After another monkey bar segment, you’ll have to deal with several baddies. Once you’re safe, walk over to the raised bridge. After cutting the rope, use it to climb up to a treasure.
Treasure 6: Statuette of Izopochtzi
Cross the bridge. On the other side you’ll find two rocks that can be used as cover to fight the enemies ahead. Behind the rock on the left, you’ll find a treasure.
Treasure 1: Statuette of Ticonahitzichi
As you make your way at the beginning of chapter 29, look for this high ledge to your right, just before a drop off. If you’re shuffling along a narrow ledge, you’ve gone too far.
Treasure 2: Sanctus Bells
Soon after killing the minigun-wielding baddy, you’ll descend a short set of stone stairs. As soon as you do, take a left and grab this treasure from the ground.
Treasure 3: Statuette of Quixtenolin
Soon after fighting some enemies as you descend a wooden ramp, you’ll reach a bend in the path that goes left. You’ll also probably be shot by someone using a grenade launcher at this point. Turn right and look for two manmade stone columns. The treasure is behind one of them.
Photo 1: Road of Fear
Soon after treasure 3, you’ll come upon this giant statue with a tongue. Climb into the mouth for a photo op.
Treasure 4: Statuette of Otapixical
Journey deeper into the mouth to find this treasure.
Treasure 5: Statuette of Zitzmitalicayo
You’ll eventually have a big firefight near a raised wooden bridge which lowers during the battle. Before crossing it, look for this high ledge to your right. Climb up here and follow the path to a treasure.
Photo 2: Doorway of the Gods
After sniping the enemies attacking Chase, you’ll cross a wooden plank. Just beyond this on your left are some handholds leading up. Use them to reach a photo op.
Treasure 6: Albarello Fragments
Soon after photo 2, you’ll have to kill a few snipers. Drop off the end of the staircase to ground level, then turn left. Continue until you find this canvas. Cut through it to find a treasure.
Treasure 1: Statuette of Yatiahaunico
Soon after chapter 30 begins, you’ll have to use some yellow handholds to get down to Chase. When you hit the ground, instead of running towards Chase, run in the opposite direction and climb up the grey ledge (pictured above).
Treasure 2: Statuette of Itixli
This treasure can be found a few feet away from the body with the teal headdress (after the cutscene).
Photo 1: Lake of Ghosts
As you continue with the chapter, this photo prompt is unavoidable. It appears at the top of a long staircase.
Treasure 3: Statuette of Tehtzicatli
After you step out of the canoe, go up the stairs. The camera will turn to face the puzzle, but you want to walk towards the lower right corner of the screen. Walk into the corner until the treasure prompt appears.
Treasure 1: Statuette of Poyoclixicaya
As soon as the chapter begins, walk up the stairs and continue forward into the corner up ahead. There’s a treasure on the ground there.
Treasure 2: Statuette of Exhualticano
From treasure 1, continue through the archway and hang a right. Drop onto the wooden platform and grab this treasure.
Charcoal Rubbings 1-2
Continue on until a cutscene triggers (just after climbing up a short ledge). After the scene, turn around and investigate the two golden columns. One is standing and the other is lying horizontally.
Charcoal Rubbing 3-4
Continue on until you find another pair of gold columns. Like the previous two, only one is standing. Rub both.
Photo 1: Throne of Gold
After the cutscene involving the throne of gold, a photo prompt will appear on screen.
Treasure 3: Statuette of Comecatlotec
From photo 1, instead of climbing the stairs up to the throne, check the right side of them. Behind a broken column you’ll find a treasure.
Charcoal Rubbings 5-8
Go up the stairs but do not approach the throne (doing so triggers a cutscene that ends the chapter). Instead, look for the gray handholds lining each of the four massive columns surrounding the throne. Climb up each column to obtain rubbings.
Treasure 1: The Monkey
As you’re climbing the chapter’s first rope, look for this grey ledge about halfway up. Leap to it, walk through the doorway to your right, then turn right again to find this treasure on the ground in the corner.
Treasure 2: Cipactil
Take out the minigun-wielding baddy, then jump from the rope to where he was standing. Walk until you hit a dead end, then check the ground on your right for a treasure.
Treasure 3: The Serpent
Jump back to the rope and climb up further. Jump to the ledge and walk up the first set of stairs. Instead of turning right and going up another set, turn left to find a small room. The treasure is inside on the ground.
Treasure 4: Kwametochitli
After obtaining the GP32-BND (grenade pistol), you’ll have to leap to another rope. Instead of climbing up, use it to reach the far ledge. Follow this path until you hit a canvas. Cut through it, then look for a treasure on the ground.
Treasure 5: The Tapir
Go back to the rope and climb to the top level. Kill all the enemies, then run past where the minigun-wielding baddy was standing into a small room. You’ll find a treasure on the ground in this small room.
Treasure 6: Statuette of Mixuatchi
After section where you climb down a rope and take out some baddies, you’ll have to ascend a huge staircase that leads into a room. As soon as you enter, check a crate on the right side for a treasure.
Treasure 1: The Quetzal
You’ll reach a spot where Chase climbs a rope while some enemies attack you from a high ledge to the left. Kill the enemies, but instead of following chase, run along the path underneath where the enemies were attacking. Check the ground where the path ends to find a treasure.
Treasure 2: The Dog
After climbing up a wall via two yellow handholds, two enemies will attack from across a gap. Take them out, but before jumping across the gap, check behind one of the crates where you’re standing.
Treasure 3: The Ocelot
After shimmying across what was once a bridge (until a falling boulder ruined things), continue on until you reach a fallen column. Don’t cross over it yet. Instead, turn around and look for these two grey handholds. From these you can leap across to a platform that contains a treasure.
Treasure 4: The Armadillo
After jumping from the massive stalactite to the next ledge, climb up and continue on until you notice a small grey spot to your left where the path curves. You can drop down here to find a treasure near some crates.
Treasure 1: The Changeling
As soon as the chapter beings, run straight across the bridge, then take a right (Drake’s right). Follow the stone path until you find a treasure.
Treasure 2: The Jaguar
After killing Guerro and dropping from the rope, turn right before meeting up with Chase and follow this path until you find the game’s final treasure on the ground.
