Mission Mode
Mission 1
Move forward and eliminate the wave of Hollows in you path, then continue forward until the forcefield rises. Eliminate the Menos Grandes in the area one at a time with consistent long-range combos.
After the forcefield drops, continue through the city towards the red arrow indicator on the map and eliminate another Menos Grande. You can now cross the dotted boundary line ahead to activate the cut scene.
You will now have to face off against a bass named Uryu. Lock onto him at the start of the battle and evade his first series of attacks, then sprint towards him and attack with a variety of combos. Make sure you attack Uryu relentlessly so that he does not have a chance to go back on the attack.
If Uryu starts trying to create some distance from you, knock him down with long-ranged attacks and move back in for more combos. If he does manage to get into an offensive position, use the sprint button to evade him until you find another opportunity to get in close for another assault.
Continue in this way until Uryu is defeated to complete the mission.
Achievement / Trophy Unlocked: I Wish You Luck (Bronze): Complete 1 mission.
Mission 2
Move forward and eliminate the Soul Reapers by the wall opposite of you. Take the path on the right and move through the large set of double doors to eliminate another wave of enemies. Try to defeat the Soul Reapers as a group to cut down on their use of teleportation.
After entering the next hallway, make a left and slash through the Reapers ahead to enter through another set of double doors. They will then immediately close behind you and all Soul Reapers in the area will have the be cleared out.
When the doors open, move towards the red arrow indicator on the map to cross the dotted boundary line. A cut scene will activate, after which you will need to defeat a series of bosses called Security Officer Jades.
As soon as the battle starts, the first Officer will come rushing straight towards you. Sprint sideways to avoid the attack and keep moving away until you get a lock on him. You can now eliminate the Officer with multiple long-range attacks.
Three more Security Officers Jades will now appear. Lock onto one at random and begin your long-ranged assault. Try and keep all three enemies in your sight to avoid being charged at by of them. If these enemies get too close, they will execute a damaging shockwave attack, so sprint backwards if they run in your direction and keep throwing projectiles.
Eliminate the Security Officer Jades one at a time by avoiding their charging attacks and using a long-ranged assault. When all bosses have been defeated the mission will be over.
Mission 3
You will need to complete this challenge in under 8 minutes so if time is running short, only deal with the threats that are holding you back from the next location ahead. Other than that keep your finger on the sprint button until you get where you need to be.
When the mission begins, sprint forward and make your way through the hallway and up the steps by slashing through the waves of Arrancar in your path. Cross the dotted boundary line at the end to teleport to the next area, then slash your way through another hallway to reach a large room.
After the forcefields come up, you will need to eliminate the Arrancar from the area. Use a combination of long and short-ranged attacks, while sprinting whenever you get surrounded, to defeat them all safely.
Sprint your way towards the red map indicator and slash through any Arrancar that tries to stop you. Smash through the crack wall in the last hallway to cross the dotted boundary line and activate a cut scene. You will now face off against Rudobon.
Lock onto Rudob, then jump to sprint through air around him. Blast him with long ranged-attacks to weaken him minority at first, then move towards him at ground level before too much time has run out. Battle through the waves of Arrancar and approach Rudobon’s roots, then perform jumping attacks to continue weakening him.
If you linger around Rudobon’s upper body for too long he will emit a shockwave, so drop back to the ground in between each combo strike. He will also fire a burst of electricity at you occasionally, so sprint sideways when the room goes dark to avoid this attack,.
Continue assaulting Rudobon, while fending off his underlings, until he is defeated to complete this mission.
Mission 4
Sprint forward when the mission begins and make your way through the cityscape by eliminating the Hollows and Menos Grandes around every corner. Make a right, when you reach the split in the path, to cross the dotted boundary line and teleport to the next area.
Move onto the next rooftop in the distance to activate the forcefield. You will now have to eliminate all the Hollows in the area before continuing to your objective. Use your lock on button to locate and defeat them as quickly as possible.
Continue moving towards the red map indicator to navigate through the construction site and onto the next rooftop ahead. Eliminate the Menos Grande and wave of Hollows you encounter along the way. Once you reach the rooftop, a cut scene will activate and you will face off against Grimmjow.
When the battle begins, Grimmjow will unleash a wave of floating skull heads that make it difficult to lock onto him immediately. Scroll through as man enemies as it takes until you are focused on Grimmjow, then sprint towards him to begin the assault.
The game plan here is pretty simple. Use close-ranged melee attacks without giving Grimmjow a moment to recover. If he begins to glow then sprint away and fire a few projectiles, but return to a up close attack as soon as possible.
You should ignore all other threats to make sure that Grimmjow goes down without much of a fight. The mission will end when he is finally defeated.
Mission 5
You will have to complete this mission without the ability to dash. This means you will need to find strategic ways to attack fast-moving enemies and eliminate the underlings that you would normally speed past.
At the beginning of the mission, you will need to take out the Fliers first. Approach one of them and lock on as soon as possible, then run up underneath it and unleash a barrage of projectile attacks. Stay close to it and avoid the blue pulse clods that it fires down you.
After the first Flier is defeated, eliminate the remaining ones in the same manner, slashing through any Hollow that gets in your way. After all Fliers have been cleared from the area, a cut scene will activate and you will now have to face off with Kokuto.
As bosses themselves go, Kokuto is not a very difficult opponent. He spends a lot of time retreating from you and blocks combo attacks inconsistently. Also, while Kokuto’s offensive strikes can cause significant damage, they are few and far between. The real annoyance with this enemy however, are the Hollows that surround you at all times.
To eliminate Kokuto efficiently, keep your attacks focused on him at all times even when surrounded by the Hollow enemies. If the Hollows are actually standing in your way or causing too much damage, execute combination attacks as you move towards Kokuto to keep them at bay.
Continue assaulting Kokuto in this manner until he is defeated to complete the mission.
Mission 6
This mission will need to be completed in under ten minutes so remember to only linger on threats that are required to be dealt with in order to move on.
When the mission starts, sprint through the first wave of enemies ahead to enter the large open area. The doors will now shut and you’ll be charged with eliminating the Soul Reapers in the area. Take out the Security Officer first with a long-ranged attack, then finish off the rest of the remaining reapers.
After the doors open, continue through the stage by following the red map indicator and slash through the waves of Soul Reapers in your path. You will need to cross the dotted boundary in the last hallway to teleport to the boss area.
After you teleport, sprint down the middle hallway to reach the large open room and face off against Ichigo Kurosaki. You will need to sprint away from his charging assault when the battle first starts.
Lock onto Ichigo and approach him at a distance not quite close enough for melee combat. You can knock him around the stage by performing a barrage of long-ranged mid-air strikes. Use these to keep him off his feet until your energy runs out.
When your long-range energy is drained, keep Ichigo occupied with melee combinations that he will usually block every time. You should continue this approach until you are either successful in striking him or can return to throwing projectiles in mid-air.
Continue this assault strategy until Ichigo, then choose to either take the hallway to the left or the right from where you entered. The hallway to the left has a wave of Security Officer Jades that can be defeated in the same manner as you have executed before. The right hallway will lead to Rukia who is quicker than Ichigo, but can eliminated with the same strategy you used on him. Make sure that you replenish your health in between each battle.
Clear all three of these boss challenges before time runs out to complete the mission.
Mission 7
In this mission, your first goal is to eliminate 100 Soul Reapers without dying. This can best be accomplished by using a string of varying long and short-ranged combos. Attack groups of Reapers all at once, but focus primarily on eliminating the larger of the enemies first. Do not stop executing combos the entire time, even when moving towards one of the health upgrades by the wall.
After you have defeated 100 Reapers, you will face off against Kenpachi. Ignore the underlings for now and eliminate this boss by alternating between unrelenting melee attacks and firing projectiles while jumping.
After Kenpachi is defeated, clear out the remaining Soul Reapers in the area to complete this mission.
Mission 8
In this mission you will not be able to use the Ignition Gauge. Unless you have relied on it heavily during gameplay, this should not pose much of a hinderance.
When the mission begins, sprint forward and move through the canyon, eliminating the Arrancar in your path. Once you reach the open area, the forcefields will rise and a wave of Slug Tortoise will need to be defeated.
Tip over and eliminate the Slug Tortoises one at a time with the same strategy you’ve applied in previous battles. If the tentacle attacks from the Arrancar are becoming too much of a nuisance, then it’s advisable to deal with them while you wait for the Tortoise to rise on two legs.
Once the forcefield drops, follow the red map indicator through the next canyon ahead and stop when you see the twirling Gigants. Evade these two tornado-esque enemies until they stop spinning to eliminate them or jump to sprint over them.
When you reach the next open area, another forcefield will drop and you’ll be charged with eliminating a wave of Volcan Gigants. Lock onto them one by one and eliminate them by sprinting around the area and firing projectiles. This will help you evade the Arrancar underlings and the Gigants’ tendency to self-destruct.
Once the forcefield drops, cross the dotted boundary line to activate the cut scene. You will now be charged with eliminating the boss called Yammy again. Defeat Yammy with the same strategy you executed against him Episode 11 of the Story Mode to complete this mission.
Mission 9
Move forward across the desert, towards the red map indicator, and eliminate the Arrancar in your path. When you reach the rounded clearing, a forcefield will rise and you will be faced with defeating Rudobon.
Lock onto Rudobon and move around him in a wide circle to avoid his attacks and the attacks of the Arrancar in the area. Eliminate Rudobon with a barrage of long-ranged strikes and continue forward to cross the dotted boundary line.
You will be faced with eliminating Barragan. Keep a steady stream of projectiles flying in his direction and eliminate any Arrancar who interfere with melee strikes. As long as you clear out the Arrancar with tentacles ahead of time, Barragan can easily be defeated by staying on the moving and shooting projectiles at him from afar.
If you do decide to strike at close range, execute no more than one combo before moving on or you run the risk of taking damage. Eliminate Barragan to complete this mission.
Mission 10
This mission must be completed in under 10 minutes so move through the unnecessary threats as quickly as possible. When the level starts, the most efficient way to the next objective is by taking the path to the left. The other two choices, to the right and straight ahead, will provide more upgrades and soul orbs, but cost you valuable time.
Eliminate the Hollows and Gigants that block your path, then continue through the cityscape towards the red map indicator. When you reach the rooftop in the next open area, the forcefields will rise and you will need to eliminate the Harm Flier.
Defeat the Harm Fliers by locking onto them and delivering a series of long-range strikes. After the forcefields drop, you can cross the dotted boundary and teleport to the next area. Sprint forward when you arrive and slash through the Hollows in your path until you reach the second rooftop ahead.
Your next forcefield challenge will be to eliminate the Doom Gigant. Defeat him by ignoring other enemies and delivering a quick a flurry of combos. After he is defeated, move forward to the next rooftop to face off against Toshiro Hitsugaya and Halibel.
Choose one to lock onto and stay on the move by sprinting. You are better off locking onto Hitsugaya to get rid of him first, because his attacks are more devastating and come in quicker succession. Attack with long-ranged projectiles to keep him incapacitated, but also try and keep Halibel in your line of sight to avoid her offensive strikes.
If you manage to trap Hitsugaya in a corner or knock him off his feet, move in and execute a single melee combo for maximum damage. You will need to retreat quickly after this or risk being targeted by Halibel’s rapid-fire weaponry. When retreating, always back away from these enemies to the opposite side of where they are in the area and stay on the move so that you can more easily avoid their multiple attacks
Since both of these enemies are quick moving, hard to kill and well-equipped offensively, do as much damage as you can to Hitsugaya until you can activate your Ignition transformation. Once you have transformed, continue attacking Hitsugaya until you can use the L2 finisher to defeat him.
You can now focus on eliminating Halibel in the same way you just defeated her partner. Once you have finished off both of these bosses, the mission will be over.
Achievement / Trophy Unlocked: I’ll Be Okay Now (Bronze): Complete 10 missions.
Mission 11
This mission will have to be completed without possessing the ability to jump. This means that all of your attacks will be at the more vulnerable ground level and that you will need to retreat from danger earlier than usual. Your best bet is to select a character with a high damage threshold and a powerful ground assault.
When the level opens, sprint forward to the first rooftop for the first forcefield challenge. In this one you will need to dispatch of all the Hollows in the area. Combinations melee and long-ranged attacks would clear them out in no time.
Follow the red map indicator to make your way through the construction site, eliminating the Menos Grande and more Hollows as you go. When you reach the next rooftop, another forcefield will right and you will be charged with defeating Slaughter Tortoises.
Lock onto the nearest one and sprint to the opposite side of the level to keep an eye on all of them. Fire a barrage of projectiles at the Tortoise whether it’s on its back or not and go into an evasive sprint if any of these enemies starts spinning your way. When their lives are low enough, you can brave a melee attack as long as you retreat before the Tortoise starts spinning.
Once all of the Slaughter Tortoises are defeated, cross the dotted boundary line ahead to teleport. When you reach the next area, move forward and take the pathway ahead to your left, because the right one is blocked off and guarded by large Arrancar. Slash through the underlings and Tortoise enemy to reach the next open area of rooftops and activate a cut scene.
You will now face off against Kyoraku and Stark. Lock onto Stark first since Kyoraku usually relies on his series of tornado attacks, which can be easily avoided and and cause minimal damage. You will still need to stay on the move at all time to avoid being double teamed.
Lead Stark onto one of the rooftops in the corner, then attack with an alternating combination of melee and long-ranged strikes until his life is nearly half diminished. You can then, activate your Ignition transformation and use it to weaken this boss to the point that an L2 finisher will put him down for good.
Once Stark is eliminated, repeat the same assault strategy on Kyoraku until he is also defeated to complete this mission.
Mission 12
Sprint forward into the maze and let the doors close behind you. You will now be charged with eliminating all the Security Blues in the area. If you pause the game you will see the four red dots that represent each Blue in the four corners of the maze. Use this as a guide in case you get lost while traveling between each one.
Lock onto the Security Blues and weaken them with a series of projectiles before finishing them off with a melee combo attack. Do this to defeat all four of these enemies, then follow the red map indicator to the top end of the maze and cross the dotted boundary line.
You will now be charged with eliminating a boss called Sajin Komamura. You can choose to either lock onto the fox warrior that teleports around the area or the enormous monster looming over the battleground. Causing damage to one of them, causes the same damage to the other so you can alternate between them or just focus on one for the whole fight.
The fox enemy has a minor defense system and can easily be damaged with a series of melee combinations. The draw back is that focusing on this half will leave you blind to the movements of the enormous monster, who will occasionally bring his sword down in the area you’re currently residing. Also, if you linger too close to the fox for too long, he may use a devastating double-team attack to defeat you almost immediately.
The enormous monster can be assaulted with either a long-ranged attack or by using melee combinations to strike his hand that rests near the corner of the area. If you should see him start to wind up for a sword swing, evade the blow by sprinting sideways or upwards, depending on how he strikes. The draw back to focusing on this half of the boss team is that it will leave you open to the fox’s rare attack and the monster seems to lose health at a slower pace.
Your best bet is to focus on the larger enemy to keep an eye on both of their offensive assaults and dodge them. Fire a barrage of projectiles and use melee attacks on the boss’ vulnerable hand until you can activate your Ignition transformation.
Now, focus on the fox enemy and weaken him with projectile and melee attacks until he falls forward. Continue your assault until he rises, then blast him with an L2 finisher. Repeat this process if necessary until Sajin Komamura is defeated to complete this mission.
Mission 13
During this mission, it will only take one hit to eliminate either you or any of the other enemies present. This means that you will have to rely heavily on your long-ranged attacks to stay out of danger. When the level begins fire projectiles down the hallway ahead to eliminate the Security Officers coming your way.
Continue following the hallway ahead and lock onto the Soul Reapers around the next left corner. Use another barrage of projectiles, while moving left, to eliminate this wave before moving on.
When you enter the next widened area, you will be ambushed by a large number of underlings. Sprint backwards or jump into the air to avoid their attacks, then eliminate them with a quick flurry of long-ranged strikes.
Coming around the next right corner, move back and forth across the hall while firing projectiles to clear the area ahead of enemies. Focus on the smaller Reapers up front since they can also fire projectiles to eliminate you.
Make the next left and eliminate the Security Officers to the right, then follow the hallway ahead and eliminate the wave of Soul Reapers around the corner. Continue forward, then move back and forth across the pathway ahead to take cover in between eliminating the Reapers with long-ranged attacks.
Continue through the hallway and eliminate the next SecurityOfficer ahead, then take out the multiple Officers around the corner by approaching from along the wall that stands opposite of them. This will keep you at a distance when they first come into view rather, then coming face to face as you come around the corner.
Move through the halls, eliminating Security Officers and Reapers from a distance until you come to the long hall filled with multiple enemies equipped with projectiles. Before they can get a chance to fire, sprint through these waves to eliminate whoever is in your path and cross the dotted boundary line safely.
You will now be faced with eliminating Kuchiki, Kurosaki and Ishida. When the battle begins, sprint immediately to the side to avoid their first assault. Your best strategy of assault is to lock onto them one at a time and stay at a distance by sprinting. When they are momentarily distracted or not attacking you, sprint into them or fire a projectile for the kill.
Keep moving after you eliminate one enemy to stay ahead of the others, then lock onto your next victim and repeat the process. Eliminate all three enemies in this way to complete the mission.
Mission 14
During this episode, the spirit gauge will not regenerate. This means that you will need to rely primarily on melee attacks to save your projectiles for the bass stage.
Move forward up the stairs and slash your way through the Arrancar in your way. Make a left at the hallway to enter the first forcefield challenge. Eliminate the Arrancar in the room by sprinting in between enemies and taking them out quickly with combos before retreating from danger.
Move up the next set of stairs and continue slashing your way through the halls to cross the dotted line boundary. You may want to sprint through the room just before the boundary as it will contain a wave of the Arrancar who are more dangerous at close distances.
Upon teleporting to the next area, move forward and enter one of the rounded rooms in the four corners to complete a forcefield battle. Once it is complete, return to the central area to activate the cut scene and battle Rudobon.
If you saved your projectiles, use them now to weaken Rudbon while sprinting around the room. Once your gauge is depleted, move in close and take him out with a series of melee combos, power-strikes and a finisher after an Ignition transformation. When Rudobon has been defeated, the mission is over.
Mission 15
During this episode, you will be unable to use life stock. This means that you will need to rely on sprinting and using projectile attacks to stay safe while doing battle. When the stage begins, sprint forward through the first wave of Hollows to activate the forcefield.
You will now be charged with eliminating the Menos Grande from the area. Lock onto them one at a time and sprint consistently to stay airborne while avoiding the underlings. Use projectiles to finish the Grandes off and dodge their red laser blasts whenever you seem them aiming it towards you.
After the forcefield drops, continue towards the red map indicator and sprint past any major threats you come across along the way. Cross the dotted boundary line to teleport, then continue sprinting forward.
Approach the cracked wall and use melee combos to simultaneously break through it while fending off enemies that attack from behind. Once the wall is down, sprint forward and take the path to the left to avoid taking further risks.
Execute another series of melee combos to break through the next two walls and fight off the wave of Hollows, then pick up the health upgrade if necessary and cross the dotted boundary line. You will now be faced with eliminating Zaraki and Nnoitora.
Lock onto Nnoitora first, as his weaponry can do the most damage if you’re not paying attention to him. Move around him in a circle, firing projectile and sprinting to avoid Zaraki’s attacks. When his life is nearly halfway drained, activate an Ignition transformation and wear him down combination strikes until he can be taken out with an L2 finisher.
Once Nnoitora is defeated, eliminate Zaraki in the same manner, but with a more melee based-attack strategy. When both of these bosses are taken out, the mission will be complete. If you need health, there is an upgrade behind a pair of pointed rocks along the edge of the boss area.
Mission 16
This mission needs to be completed with 8 minutes. When it begins, sprint forward and slash your way through the waves of Arrancar until the forcefield rises. You will now need to defeat the Slay Tortoise in the area.
Ignoring the Arrancar, use the usual method to knock them on their backs one by one and eliminate them with a series of melee combos. When they are all defeated continue towards the rem map indicator, eliminating enemies and another Slay Tortoise.
When the next forcefield rises, you will need to eliminate the large collection of Frogbone in the area. Use projectile attacks to stay at a safe distance, but if you should happen to get surrounded, use the Circle button to strike the enemies around you.
When the Frogbones are defeated, continue towards the red map indicator and cross the dotted boundary line. You must now eliminate Shihoin and Soi Fon. When the battle begins lock onto either of the bosses and move in for a projectile assault.
Normally with bosses that are most devastating at close range, you would stay on the move at a distance distance and fire projectiles till they were weak enough to finish off. Unfortunately, because time is of the essence you will need to attempt to weaken these bosses with melee combos.
Sprint in and try to link a series of combos together, then retreat before the other other boss attacks or the current one starts to block. You can now fire projectiles temporarily, until the bosses are separated and you can move in for another melee attack.
When almost half the boss’ life is depleted, use your Ignition transformation and L2 finisher to defeated her. If possible, try and get both bosses in your line of fire during the ignition transformation.
Use a similar method to defeat the remaining boss with an L2 finisher and the mission will be complete.
Mission 17
During this episode, you will need to defeat 200 Hollows without dying. Eliminate the Fliers first as they will inflict the most damage to you in the long run, then focus your attention on the floating hers of skulls.
These enemies are too numerous, too small and too scattered to eliminate one at a time with projectiles or combo attacks. The best way to take them out is to plow through them with the sprint button. Continuously lock onto and nearby skull, then sprint through and see how many more you can take out in a line ahead.
Continue locking onto new skulls to blast through 200 Hollows and complete the mission. There are health power-ups on the rooftops if you need them.
Mission 18
During this mission you will not be able to guard or dash. That means you will have to rely on projectile attacks and jumping to avoid damage.
When the challenge begins, follow the red map indicator through the hallway and slash through the waves of Soul Reapers. Continue towards the arrow icon and pass through a set of double, which will then close behind you.
You will now have to eliminate the Security Officer Blue. Without the ability to dash, you must eliminate them quickly with melee attacks before they can launch an offense. Run towards the group and use your strong attack, via the Circle button, to drain their lives, then follow it up with a string of close-ranged combos to take out the Officers.
Cross the dotted boundary line ahead, then move forward when you teleport to the new area. Follow the hallway to next widened area to face off against the Kuchikis. Lock onto the male enemy first, since the other one has a less damaging attack at long range.
Use the same tactic as you did earlier with the Security Officer Blue. Use the projectile attacks to knock the male Kuchiki off balance, then sprint in to follow it up with a strong attack. Combine a couple melee combos for extra damage before the other boss gets involved and you have to retreat.
When almost half of the boss’ life remains, activate your Ignition transformation, then use combos with an L2 finisher to defeat him and injure his partner. Repeat the strategy against the remaining enemy to defeat her and complete the mission.
Mission 19
You must complete this mission in under twelve minutes without the use of the Ignition Gauge. When the challenge begins, sprint forward into the maze so that the doors close behind you. You are now charged with eliminating the Security Officers Red from the area.
Press pause to check your map and use it to locate the three target enemies in the bottom left corner, the middle and the top right corner of the maze. Travel from left to the right, destroying each of the Security Officers Red, then cross the dotted boundary line at the top of the maze to teleport to the next area.
Move forward when you reach the next area and use the map to either sprint or slash your way through the maze as you did in Mission 12. Cross the dotted boundary line at the end to reach the next area, then sprint through the maze to next widened room.
Eliminate all the Soul Reapers in the area by letting them swarm around you, then clearing them out with a string of melee combos. Continue doing this until there are only a few stragglers remaining, then finish these Reapers off with projectile attacks.
Sprint through the next hallway, towards the red arrow indicator, and cross the dotted boundary line to teleport to the next area. Move forward into the center room to face off against Ichimaru and Aizen. They have relatively the same technique so choose either one of them to lock onto first.
While sprinting, knock your target down with a series of projectile strikes, then move in before he can get to his feet and deliver one or two melee combos. You will not have much time, so use your special strike via the Circle button when the boss is lying on the ground to cause more damage.
Make sure you retreat after executing a few of the melee combos to avoid the other boss’ attack from behind. Continue in this manner to eliminate the first boss, then use the same strategy, only with more melee combos, to take out the second one.
Move to either the right or left chambers in this area to clear out the remaining threats. In the left room, you will need to eliminate a wave of Soul Reapers and in the right room you will have to take out a group of Security Officers. Either can be accomplished quickly by staying on the move and using projectile attacks. Once both of these remaining rooms are clear, the mission is over.
Mission 20
When the mission begins, sprint forward and eliminate the Slay Tortoises one by one from the area. You will now need to defeat the Gigants with projectile attacks while sprinting high above ground. Once they are defeated, you will face off against Ichigo and Kokuto.
Lock onto Ichigo first and sprint around the area, firing projectiles and evading the Kokuto’s attacks. After you have done a fair amount of damage, knock Ichigo off balance with another long-ranged strike and move in to juggle him along with melee combos.
When Kokuto interrupts you during the melee combo, activate your Ignition Gauge and try to deal them both a series of projectile and close-ranged attacks while you’re powered up. Hit them both with the L2 finisher and sprint to the outer rim of the area.
Collect the Ignition power-up along the side of the area and draw both boss’ together again if one hasn’t already been eliminated. Activate the Ignition again and repeat the previous assault, ending with L2 finisher.
By now there should be one enemy left, you can either go toe to toe with him in melee combos or sprint around the level firing projectiles. When the second boss is defeated, the mission is complete.
Mission 21
During this mission all damage you receive will be permanent. This means that the majority of your attacks should be at long range or during a period where your opponent is caught off balance to minimize damage.
When the level begins, sprint forward and navigate through the hallways by blasting past the underlings. When you reach a wide room at the top of the stairs, the forcefields will rise. You will now have to eliminate Arrancar in the area.
Take out the Arrancar in the adjacent from a distance with projectiles or take defeat in groups with a strong attack via the Circle button. If you are going to engage in melee combat, make sure that it is a one-on-one fight and that it won’t take more than a couple combos to finish the opponent off.
After all Arrancar are clear, cross the dotted boundary line to activate a cut scene. You will now have to face off against Hollow Ichigo and Ulquiorra. Lock onto Ichigo first as he has the more powerful long ranged-attacks.
Sprint towards Ichigo and use a powerful strike to knock him off his feet, then execute as many more of these attacks as possible. Retreat and unleash a barrage of long-ranged attacks, then move in for another attack. When Ichigo’s life is nearly halfway drained, activate your Ignition Gauge and unload a flurry of attacks on both bosses.
Finish off Ichigo and injure Ulquiorra with the L2 attack, then retreat to rim of the area and pick up an Ignition power-up. Sprint towards Ulquiorra and hit him with your power strikes, then activate the Ignition and eliminate him to complete this mission.
Mission 22
At this point in mission mode, you may three to four bosses in the final battle. If the objectives are going to be accomplished efficiently and intelligently, you’ll need to Level Up one of your players into the 65 or 70 range. This will also give them the added advantage of life stocks (extra lives).
When the mission begins, sprint forward and slash your way through the Fliers and Hollows. Take the path to the right and continue towards the red map indicator while battling the Arrancar on the rooftops. When you reach the next open area, the forcefields will rise.
Eliminate all the Tortoises by attacking them when they’re flipped and the remaining enemies in the area over to drop the forcefields. Now, cross the dotted boundary line ahead to activate the cut scene. You will now face off against Flint, Halibel and Barragan.
There’s no step-by-step instructions for eliminating all three bosses, because you will need to react to whatever they use as an attack. A lot depends on which character you’re using and what level they’re ranked at. Aside from mission specific hints, an overall tip when facing this many bosses is to eliminate them as quickly as possible and make good use of the Ignition Gauge.
Focus on Flint first and use long-ranged attacks while sprinting towards him to keep his retaliations at bay. Perform a series on melee and powerful strikes, while pinning him against the edge of the area. Pop him into the air with one melee combo and perform another while jumping to keep his health falling at all times. If he breaks away from you, go into an evasive sprint and continue firing projectiles to keep him in check.
After Flint is eliminated, lock on to Halibel and continue the same strategy as before. You should also take this opportunity to activate the Ignition Gauge if it’s available. Use it to weaken and defeat the remaining two players if possible.
After Halibel is defeated, eliminate Barragan with a series of attacks that start with your strongest striking maneuvers or the Ignition Gauge. Once all three bosses are eliminated, the mission is over.
Mission 23
Sprint forward at the beginning of the stage and slash through the waves of Arrancar to the open area ahead. The forcefield will now rise and you will be charged with eliminating the enemies in the area. Use the same sprinting and projectile tactics as before to defeat Rudobon, then eliminate the remaining Arrancar with combo attacks.
Dash across the dotted boundary line to activate the cut scene and face off against Ichigo and Aizen. When the battle begins, lock on to Aizen first and dash in his direction.
Weaken Aizen by positioning yourself at a decent height and unleashing a flurry of projectile strikes. Continue knocking him off balance, even as you touch the ground, and move in to strike Aizen with a more powerful assault. When almost 25% of his life remains, activate the Ignition Gauge and finish him off with more projectiles.
Use what’s left of your Ignition Gauge to execute combo strikes and an L2 finisher on Ichigo. This will either eliminate him immediately or weaken him enough to defeat soon afterwards. When both bosses are taken care of, the mission will be complete.
Mission 24
Sprint forward across the desert and slash your way through waves of enemies, including Gigants and Arrancars that vary in size. Continue moving towards the red map indicator until a forcefield rises around you. You will now have to eliminate the Gigants and Menos Grande.
Move right and eliminate the first Gigant to come across, then move left around the edge of the area to eliminate the Menos Grande. Take out the remaining Gigant in the area to drop the forcefield, then dash towards the red map indicator and cross the dotted boundary line to face off against Nnoitora, Grimmjow and Ulquiorra.
Lock onto Ulquiorra first, because he can cause you the most damage. You must now follow him as closely as possible to deliver multiple melee combos and power strikes via the Circle Button. Do not relent on this assault or give him a moment to regain momentum until he has less than 25% of his life remaining.
Activate the Ignition Gauge and finish off Ulquiorra. Now, focus on Nnoitora to hit him, and hopefully the other remaining boss, with an L2 finisher. Use a flurry of projectiles to weaken his health, then move in with a few powerful strikes to eliminate him for good.
Use your most powerful attacks to consistently strike and defeat Grimmjow. When all three bosses are eliminated, the mission is complete.
Mission 25
At the start of the mission, dash forward and eliminate the Hollows in your path. Continue following the red map indicator until the forcefield rises. You will now have to clear out all the Tortoises and Arrancars in the area.
Take out the Tortoises first, then eliminate the remaining Arrancar with projectiles before they cause too much damage with their tentacles. After the forcefield drops, continue down the street towards the red map indicator to battle through multiple waves of Hollows varying in size and a few different Tortoises.
Cross the dotted boundary line at the end of the street to face off against Ishida, Shihoin, Rukia and Ichigo. Lock on to the most dangerous enemy first, Ishida, and follow him around the area. Fire a continuous stream of projectiles to slow him down, then execute some powerful strikes. As he rises to his feet, perform a string of melee combos.
See if you can keep this up long enough to pin Ishida against a wall. Now trap him there with a variety of combos to finish him off. Once Ishida is eliminated lock on to Shihoin and activate your Ignition Gauge.
Assault Shihoin with a variety of attacks while using the Ignition Gauge, and you should be able to defeat her easily shortly after that. If your previous Ignition Gauge attacks struck the remaining two bosses, then they should also be easily overcome. Once all four bosses are defeated, the mission is over.
Mission 26
When the level begins, move forward through the maze and eliminate the Soul Reapers in your path. Continue towards the map indicator until you enter the next open area. The forcefields will rise and you will need to defeat all the enemies around you.
Take out the Security Officers with power strikes that will also effect the smaller enemies, then eliminate all remaining threats. Continue through the maze ahead to slash through more Reapers and Officers, then cross the dotted boundary line to face off against Ichimaru, Zaraki and Sajin Komamura.
Focus on Ichimaru first and use melee attacks to weaken him, then activate the Ignition Gauge to cause significant damage. Finish him off with a combination of melee attacks and power strikes.
Lock on to Zaraki and repeat the previous assault tactics. Once Zaraki is defeated, strike the fox enemy with projectiles to draw him out, then battle until your Ignition Gauge is full. Attack the fox enemy until he can be eliminated with an L2 finisher to complete this mission.
Mission 27
When the mission begins, dash across the desert to fight your way through the Hollows and Fliers ahead. Continue moving in the direction of the map indicator, while battling enemies, until you reach a campsite to activate the forcefields.
You will now be charged with eliminating all the larger enemies in the area. Take out the Grande Menos first, Rudobon second and save the underlings for last. After the forcefield drops, continue across the dotted boundary line to battle against Kuchiki, Aizen, Soi Fon and Shunsui Kyoraku.
Battle all the bosses at once for a few moments by using powerful strikes or the Ignition Gauge. When you have dealt someone nearly 25% damage, focus on that enemy and begin circling the area while dashing.
Fire projectiles to knock them off their feet and move in for the occasional melee attack or power strike via the Circle button. If you linger too long in a string of combos, the other bosses will begin attacking you all at once, so retreat after a few hits.
Once the first boss you chose has sustained sufficient damage, eliminate them by using the Ignition Gauge’s L2 Finisher. You can now choose the next victim based by either their current health or how comfortable you are facing them with your own life supply.
Continue this strategy until the last boss has been defeated to complete the mission.
Mission 28
Before you start this challenge on some gameplay difficulties, you may want to wait until your character is close to achieving their Maximum Level. When the mission starts, dash forward to eliminate the Menos Grande and Rudobon. Once they are all defeated, you will begin a gauntlet of bosses.
The first three are one-on-one and take place in the same conditions as when you battled them in Story Mode. Usesimilar strategies you used to eliminate Barragan in Episode 9, Yammy in Episode 11 and Sajin Komamura in Episode 12.
After you survive the first three stages, you will have to face off against three bosses at once . Lock on and defeat them in this order: Ulquiorra, Grimmjow and Ichigo. Isolate these characters one at a time and deal out sufficient damage by using melee combos, projectile attacks and power strikes. Retreat at any time if you’re taking on too much damage, but other than that stay relentless.
Once all the previous challenge is complete, you will engage in three-on-one combat again. In this stage, lock on and defeat the bosses in this order: Ishida, Ichigo and Kokuto. Use the same tactics as before and execute power moves or the Ignition Gauge if you get surrounded.
In the next round, you will engage in four-on-one combat. Use the same strategy you did in the previous four-on-one battles and select the victim order based on which boss has the lowest amount of life at the time. Use the dash button to operate in a stick-and-move pattern against your opponent, then strike him with something powerful to cause maximum damage.
After the first round of facing four-on-one boss situations, you will need to overcome three more. Use the previous strategy when competing in each of these battles, but make sure you are flexible to get out of harm’s way or change your attack range if necessary. If your ranking level is high enough, you should have no problem resisting and inflicting sufficient damage against any of these bosses.
When all four bosses in the final round are eliminated the last mission is complete.
