The Train
Following the intro scene, go through the list of options to talk with the young boy with the toy pistol. When Legrand approaches you, ask to help him. Guess that he’s guarding someone, then take a stab at why, then say it’s a trap. Once he walks away and you finish you conversation with Matt, you can then elect if you wish to go through the tutorial or not (it’s point and click, so there’ really not much to learn).
Following the loading screen, talk to the nervous-looking violinist. Next, click on on the hallway to head through and talk to the gentleman who will spill some tea on you. Head down the hallway where his mother will thank you for disciplining him. Head to the passenger car with the violinist and click on Matt to talk to him.
You’ll have to coerce him to talk with you, so offer him the butterscotch candies that you picked up from the bar earlier. Now that you are on good terms, go through your line of questioning to gather more intel. After you ask about the steward, Matt will tell you to go ask his mom for a hairpin so you can use it to open up the locked drawer.
Go and talk to Matt’s Mom and ask about her hairpins. Next, use the hairpin and go unlock the steward’s drawer behind the bar. Head back outside and use the small key you just picked up to open the padlock on the tool box.
Now that you have a set of pliers, go find the professor and use the pliers to help you open his locked door. Question the professor on why the door was locked, then you can examine the room, but there won’t be anything to take or of value.
Exit the room and go and talk to Legrand about the professor. Following the explosion, follow Legrand down the hall. After questioning the doctor, he’ll give you some matches. Exit out the coor. Click on the steps between the train cars to climb off the train. Click on your curtains/torch from your items and drag it up to the axel holding the two cars together to get some grease on it. Head back to the bar. Click on the curtains icon and drag it to the chair leg on the bar to create a makeshift torch. Take it and place it over the flame to create fire!
Head back outside and down the steps. Click on the lever to turn it, then click near the hook on the left to uncouple the cars.

Go inside the ship and head downstairs. Click on Legrand’s cabin door so you can pick the lock. This little minigame is tricky. What you basically have to do is connect the six gold rods to the six silver rods to unlock the door. To do this, take your cursor and click down on the wire, hold and slowly drag up to create tiny ridges or bumps in the wire. This, in effect, will simulate a makeshift key. So in order to fool the lock, the height of the ridges or bumps should be proportionate to the gold rods—meaning that since the second rod is tall, the ridge to lift it should be short; the fifth gold rod is the shortest, so your ridge in the wire should be the tallest right there. With some finessing, you should finally get it.
Once inside, examine his cabin, including the photos on the bulletin board on the back wall, before clicking on the forensics box in the back left corner. Viewing the box now, click on the cotton swab laying to the left of the clear dish.

Head up stairs and enter the baroness’ room. Click on the cotton swabs from your items list and drag them to the blood stain on the bed. Exit the room and head back downstairs and into Legrand’s cabin again. Go over to the forensics box, click on the drawer at the bottom and click on the green booklet on the left.
You’ll then need to find the bottle with hydrogen peroxide, which will be located on the fourth shelf down on the far left. After you click it, find the bottle with luminol, located on the third shelf down in the middle. After you click it, next grab the pipette (the tiny yellow thing next to the tray) and drag it to the tray. Click on the pipette again and drag it to the cotton swabs in your list of items.
Exit Legrand’s cabin. Click on the white door to enter the medical lab. Click on the tape recorder on the coutner to examine it. Next, grab the audio reel from your items list and drag it to the recorder to play it. Then click on the cupboard at the feet of the corpse to examine the trash bin.
