Dragons are back in style, as Hawke must discover his/her secret legacy in the new downloadable episode for Dragon Age 2. Step outside the confines of the city and explore all new locations like a Grey Warden prison, lurking with new breeds of vile darkspawn creatures. Not only that, Hawke will find and forge a new class-specific weapon that upgrades as you play.

Vimmark Wasteland
Once you have selected your characters (I chose Isabela, Aveline and Merrill) the game will jump to a cutscene. Following that, proceed forward and pick up the treasure on top of the crate in the far corner of the wreckage.

Turn around and head down the slope on the right side of the large stack of rocks. Take all of the treasure on top of the crate near the bridge, then head up and the stack of rocks and down the slope between the two red flags.
Head down the path. Take what you can from the corpse near the old tree trunk on the left. Before you head up the steps at the end of the path, take what you can from the pile of bones in the left corner.
After you get up the steps, there will be another pile of bone in the left wall with loot for you to take before advancing. Following your conversation with the large bearded fella, take out his two minions.
Follow the path around and take out the enemies up on the platform to the left. Cross over the area and take out the other trio of archers on the right side. After you clear the are of all enemies, head to the back corner of this area to find a bag of loot.
Before entering through the main gates, pick up the loot from the crate at the end of the path on the left. After you enter the gates, take out the large beast that appears.
Turn left up ramp and take out the archers. Walk down the ramp to the side and take the loot from the chest and the stack of crates. Turn left and read about Amgeforn the Lonely Vigil.
Head up the ramp on the opposite side and take the loot from the group of crates. Follow the path all the way around to find more goodies in the pile of rubble at the end. Head back down the main ramp and turn left through the gates.
Take what you can from pile of rubble on the right, then read about Amgeforn the Foul up on the left. Proceed down path with your party to get to the next area.
Vimmark Chasm
Head down the stairs on the left. Take the loot from the crate on the right and head down the next set of stairs. Kill the two large rhino-like beasts, then kill the enemies that will come through the doors on the left.
Once you clear the entire area of enemies, head through the first door on the left to take the loot of the crate and pick up some health potion. After you exit the room, turn right down the stairs at the end of the path.
Turn right again and grab the items from the crate in the corner. Turn around, head down the path and grab the items from the crate at the end. Turn left into the room in the wall to pick up a various assortment of items.
Head back down the path toward the stairs where a ton of Carta enemies will be waiting for you. After you wipe them out, head back up the stairs.
Walk straight into the cell on the right side to pick up some items in pile of rubble. Walk back out and turn right though the open doorway. Walk past the tree trunk, open the door and head up the stairs.
Grab the health potion if you need it, then take the items from the chest and the crate in the corner. After you head down the stairs into the room, activate the trap near the tree trunk to easily wipe out the large group of enemies that will be waiting for you.
Head through the other door in the corner of the room and take the items from the chest and crate. Head back outside and turn left through the main gates. Take the item from the barrel on the right as you head downstairs.
Sprint through the spikes and kill the two enemies at the bottom. Head down the next set of stairs, sprint around the corner to avoid another area of spikes and kill the two enemies down the next set of stairs to the left.
Head through the door to invade the Carta Hideout.
Carta Hideout
Carefully move past the sliding blades in the floor and take out the two enemies on the left. Head down the stairs and pick up the purse and items from the barrel in the far corner of the room.
After you head back up the stairs, follow the path of those blades over to next room. Read the pamphlet on the right, then open the door to the left. Head down the stairs and kill the enemies down below.
Follow your party up to the upper level where another group of enemies will be waiting. After you dispose of them, take out the contents from the chest on the table and read the paper titled “Praise Corypheus.”
Head back through the hallway, turn right and instead of going left down the stairs, turn left. Switch so that you are controlling Isabela and use her to open all three doors where there will be health potions and piles of coins waiting for you.
Switch back to Hawke and open the cage to the left. Kill the archers to the left, then help your party destroy the big beast. Turn back down the pathway where the archers were, turn down the stairs to the right and take the items from the two chests.
Head back up the stairs and make a right down the next set of stairs. Grab the health portion behind the stairs, then head through the doorway.
Pick up the items from the crate on the left next to the mineshaft car, then kill the enemies up ahead. Pick up pile of Gerav to the right, then follow the path around. Head up the stairs and wipe out the large group of enemies.
Pick up the items on the crate to the right, then head through the gate.
Following your brief interaction with the large bearded guy, you and your party will have to take him and his large beast out. This will be a piece of cake. Try to lure the beast out to where the blades come up, then active the trap to bring the blades up.
After you kill all of the enemies, head up the ramp and pick up the injury kit on the right. Take the items from the crate on the table. Heead back down the ramp and take the items from the crates on the right and left.
Before heading down the path to the next area, take the items from the bag in the alcove to the right.
Corypheus’s Prison / Sashamiri Floor
Look out over the viewpoint near the gate. Take the items from the crate on the right, then turn around and head through the doorway behind you. Take the items from the pile of bones to the left, then head through the next doorway.
Kick in the door and kill the enemies on the other side. Pick up the Genlock in the middle of the floor, activate the Mark of the Binder on the wall to the left, then active the other one on the opposite wall.
Activate the final Mark of the Binder on glowing wall. Kill the enemy inside as well as the others that will attack your party. Pick up his Battle Axe, then head down hallway on the left side of the area.
After you head through the doorway, walk up to the gate and pick up the small purse on the right. Turn around and read the note inside the far alcove. Cross over the area and head through the doorway on the opposite side.
Walk straight to the back wall and take the items from the crate. Turn around and kill the two enemies appear before turning left through the doorway between the two large Griffins.
Following your conversation with Larius, cross the bridge and read “The Warden’s Prison” note on the floor to the right. Follow the path around and pick up the health potion on the right before heading through the large doorway on the left.
Walk to the seal in the center of the area and activate it. After you do so, take out the huge monster that appears. After you destroy it, follow the on-screen instructions and upgrade Hawke’s key by targeting one of the four pillars around the circle.
Following the cutscene, turn right out the other doorway. Make a left and grab the items in the pile of bones at the dead end. Head back around a make a left across the bridge.
This guy looks scary, but don’t be intimidated. Try to get behind him and take shots at his back because his huge shield will prevent you from inflicting damage on him from the front. Take his loot along with the small purse near the edge of the railing before proceeding.
Once in the room, turn left and take the items from the crate in the left corner. Move around the rock pile on the other side of the room, then head through the doorway and on down the stairs.
Corypheus’s Prison / Farele Floor
After you get down the stairs, take the items from the pile of bones in the left corner of the room. Head through the doorway on the left and activate the Mark of the Binder on the wall.
Head through the doorway and at the end of the hallway, then turn left through the next doorway. However, before you make it out, you’ll be forced to fight off a group of enemies. After you do so, head through the doorway and kill the enemies in the next room.
Gather the loot from the corpse in the corner, then activate the next Mark of the Binder on the wall. Head back to the final Mark of the Binder. After you activate it, destroy the monster inside and help your party kill the other enemies in the hall.
Head back down the hallway and into the room where the second Mark of the Binder was. Head through the tall doorway and take the items located on the skeletal corpse.
Head back into the room and open the door on the left. Kill the scary looking enemies on the other side. Turn into the doorway on the right and read the “Crown of Dumat” in the left corner of the room.
Turn right out into the hallway and head through the next doorway. After you enter the doorway at the end of the hallway, read the “An Unusual Discovery” note on the floor.
Grab the items in the chest located in the room, then head through the next doorway. After you kill the attacking enemies, turn right and activate the Mark of the Binder on the wall.
Turn left and head through the doorway. Grab the item from the pile of bones to the right and pick up the injury kit from the last room on the right. Continue down the hallway and on through the doorway.
Kill the monster who will be blocking the next doorway with his huge shield. Head through the doorway and read the “Dumat’s Sacrificed Dagger on the right.
Turn around and head down the hallway on the left and help your party kill the enemies down the hall. Head back up the hall, turn left through the doorway and follow the path around to the next Mark of the Binder.
After you activate it, turn right through the doorway and activate the last Mark of the Binder between the two Griffins. Kill the monster inside, then help your party kill the rest of the attacking enemies.
Following the cutscene, turn right of the room between the two Griffins and head through the doorway. Continue all the way down the hallway and turn left through the doorway at the end.
Turn right down the hallway next to the gates. Turn left through the tall doorway and kill the enemies at the other end of the bridge. Before entering through the doorway, pick up the small purse off to the right.
After you walk through the doorway, pick up the Ogre loot on the floor. Walk up to the center seal and activate it. After you do, kill the large monsters that appear, then choose which perk you want from one off the four pillars.
Exit through the other doorway and take the items from the skeletal corpse outside. Follow the path around and turn right across the bridge.
Following your conversation with Larius, enter through the tall doorway and pick up the health potion in the right corner of the room. Proceed forward and head downstairs to the next area.
Corypheus’s Prison / Tower Base
Pick up the item from the pile of bones at the end of the path, then turn around and head down the path that veers off to the left. Enter into the ominous battle area and take out all of the enemies.
Pick up the journal page at the end of the lone path off to the right, then continue down the main path. Pick up the items from the rubble in front of the doorway before heading inside.
After you exit the other doorway, pick up the items from the pile of bones in the swamp area to the left. Head through the nearby doorway and pick up the journal page inside.
Turn left after you exit and kill the enemies that will be waiting for you in the next area. Follow the path in between the two Griffin statues and head up the two sets of stairs. Pick up the health potion and “Dumat’s Ritual Scroll.”
Head back down both sets of stairs and take the items from the crate over in the right corner behind the fire. Head up the stairs and place the sacrifices at the alter of Dumat.
After you head back downstairs, turn right, take the items from the crate in front of the pillar with the torch, then turn left in between the two large Griffins. Head through the doorway and kill the crazy looking monsters on the other side.
Turn into the first area on the right to find another journal page, then head into the nearby room to acquire the “Sacred Urn of Dumont.” Exit through the doorway on the left, cross over the area and head through the doorway on the other side.
Advance forward and turn left up the stairs at the end toward the Alter of Dumont. Place your sacrifices in front of the alter. Walk down the stairs, turn right and head through the doorway past the two large Griffin statues.
Turn left and take the items from the chest before crossing the bridge. Turn right and follow the path around to examine Tethras Garen.Head back and head up the stairs. About half way down the path you’ll be blindsided by a monster from the left wall—take him out.
Continue down the path and examine the “Speculations on Kirkwall” letter over in the area to the right. Walk past the fire to pick up the item in the pile of bones. Turn around and head over to the other side, killing the enemies who will be blocking your path along the way.
Pick up items in he pile of rubble right as the path begins to wind upward. After you enter the area with the seal, kill the monsters that appear.
ACHIEVEMENT: After you choose your third effect to apply to Hawke’s key from one of the pillars, you will earn the “Family Legacy” Achievement. Head through the doorway to the next area.
Corypheus’s Prison / Riannon Floor
After you get up the stairs, activate the Power Nexus on the wall to the left and head through the doorway. Cross the bridge and follow the path around to the left. Turn left at the dead end to examine the viewpoint.
Turn around and head through the doorway and into the room. Following your conversation with the angry dwarves, kill them. Following the fight it will be up to you to link the streams of fire to unlock the door.
You’ll notice that three pillars are already connected at one end and five are connected at the other. Go to the fifth one and rotate it three times so that there is a torch facing North (at the wall) and one East (to the next pillar to the right—the sixth pillar).
Rotate the sixth pillar four times so that there is a torch facing the fifth pillar as well as one facing the pillar to the South (we’ll call this one the seventh pillar). Rotate this seventh pillar three times so that a torch is facing the sixth pillar as well as the pillar along the wall (the eighth pillar).
The eighth pillar should already be linked up with the ninth pillar (the one to the right of it against the wall). Rotate the pillar just in front of the ninth one once and this should link them all up and break the forcefield blocking the door.
Exit through the doorway where all of this pillar madness began and cross the bridge to the doorway on the other side. Turn left through the doorway and kill the attacking enemies.
Go back and take the items from the pile of bones next to the wall. Open the door in front of the bones, read the “Lock within Locks” note on the floor, the “Helm of Weisshuapt” note in the corner and take the item from the crate in the other corner.
Activate the Power Nexus on the wall to the right of the door before exiting. Turn right and follow the path around to the door. After you open it, follow the pathway around and take the item from the pile of bones in the second alcove to the right.
Head through the doorway in the opposite corner. After you enter through the second doorway, take the items from the chest in the alcove to the right. Head through the next doorway and read the “A Change of Course” letter on the floor.
Activate the Power Nexus on the wall to the left, then head all the way back to the original area of this main room (the part where you had to do the little bit of fighting). When you come to that final open doorway on the right, turn through it.
Walk down to the end of this hallway and open the door on the right. Activate the Power Nexus on the wall to the left. Exit through the doorway, proceed straight through the next doorway and open the door at the end.
Following the cutscene, kill the monsters created by Janeka. Advance down the hallway on the left and make a right up the stairs at the end to advance to the next area.
Prison Tower
After you head up the stairs, turn right and walk across the bridge towards the tower. Following the cutscene where Janeka threatens to take your blood, take her and her minions out.
After you take their items, walk around and activate the four Containment Pillars using Hawke’s key. And now it’s Corypheus time!!!
To start off, get in as many whacks as you can on Corypheus. Eventually, he will levitate up onto the center platform. He will then draw power from the four Containment Pillars and use them to turn his hands into incinerating torches.
Once you have completed this (along with killing the small handful of enemies that will appear), Corypheus will eventually come down from his center platform. As soon as he does, quickly hit him with a few attacks because before you know it he will be back up on the platform.
This time around Corypheus will raise the ground in addition with his fire tactics. This will create a bit of a challenge in getting around to the four pillars, but your goal is still the same—namely, destroying them.
After you do this, help your party kill any remaining enemies. Once Corypheus comes down again, get in your attacks as quickly as possible before he returns to the center platform.
ACHIEVEMENT: Repeat this process once more and then you should have Corypheus on his last leg. After you slay Corypheus you will earn the “Conductor” Achievement.
Cross back over the bridge to meet up with Larius and officially complete the Legacy quest.
