Airport City Walkthrough [Guide]

Airport City is an Android and Facebook simulation game created and developed by Game Insight. Here, you are tasked with building your own airport which will eventually allow for flight departures and arrivals. It will also allow you to build the city which supports the airport structure. While managing your airport, your planes will be traveling to different parts of the world, and you will also get a chance to meet different characters and collect exotic items.

Getting Started
First, you must know how to navigate the screens. At the top portion of the screen, you will see indicators for your level and experience, fuel availability, number of passengers available, coins, airport cash, energy and city capacity. The left side of the screen will display the missions that you need to complete. The right portion will show the visiting planes, flight schedules as well as other bonuses. The bottom of the screen, on the other hand, shows your store, flights, warehouse, friends, tools and collections. The store is a very important component of Airport City, as this is where you will find everything that you will need to buy to make your airport and your city a successful one.

Building and Running the City and the Airport
At this point, you will need to buy a hangar to be able to get on with the game. Tap on the store button, then on the airport buildings tab. The level one hangar will be available to purchase, and all you need to do is to tap on it to buy it. When taken back to the main screen, simply tap on the location where you want to place the hangar, then tap on the “check” to close the deal. Tapping on the hangar will give you access to the plane shop, and you can choose which specific plane you wish to purchase. Different planes allow you to reach various locations in Airport City. If you run out of hangar space, you will not be allowed to purchase new planes. You will need to either sell some of your existing planes, or build additional hangars.

Next, you will need to build a runway. Go back to the airport buildings tab and purchase the level one runway. Once again, choose a good location and then tap on the check to confirm. Fuel is needed for the flight, but this should already be available because it refreshes over time. If you run out of fuel, your planes will not be allowed to take off. Fuel bonuses may also be used to replenish your fuel reserves.

To collect passengers, check at the existing houses that have previously been built in the city. Houses with suitcases looming above them mean that they have passengers waiting to go on board a plane. Tap on the house to get the passengers. Your planes will not proceed with their flights without passengers. If you run out of passengers, you need to wait until the houses provide for additional people, or you may also opt to use your passenger bonus items.

To send your plane on its maiden voyage, tap on the hangar and look at the flight menu. Tap on the fly button of the selected destination. Sometimes, you need to meet a few pre-flight requirements. In case further steps need to be done prior to a flight, the game will prompt you through a message. When the plane is ready to fly, tap on it to fuel it. This may be done if the oil drop icon is seen on top of it. Tapping it a second time will load the passengers, and a third tap will send it off to the skies.

You should be able to see the duration of the flight, and the time that it will take for the plane to return. Tapping on the flight times icon will make you see the duration of each flight in case you have more than one plane in transit.

When the plane lands, it is an indication that the flight has been completed. Tapping on the plane will allow you to collect coins, bonus items, and experience.

To grow your airport, you will need to buy additional hangars, new planes, as well as runways so you can have multiple flights ongoing. You will also need to develop your city by building houses. More houses mean more potential passengers. To build the house, tap on the shop button then go to the residential tab. Choose from among the housing options that will provide a different number of passengers. Tap the buy button once you make the decision, then choose a good location for the houses prior to confirming. You may opt to wait for the building to be completed on its own, or you can speed up the process by using your coins. Once it is complete, tap on it one more time to unlock it. You will also have the option of building commercial buildings that would make you earn coins over time. Go to the shop button, then choose the commerce tab. Note that all buildings need to be connected to a road. To build one, tap on the tool button and choose the road option.

To know how many more buildings can be built at any point in the game, you will need to check on your city capacity indicator. All of the buildings will take up a certain portion of your capacity, so it would be prudent to take this into consideration prior to any construction plans. To increase the city capacity, you will need to expand your city.

Energy Consumption and Coin Maximization
Your building activities take up energy, and you can see it to be depleting from the top portion of your screen. Prior to purchase, you will see how much energy will be spent on the shop page. Additional power plants are required to generate more energy, and these may be found in the industries tap of the shop.

A steady income is also needed in order to continue the operation of the airport. Coins are used for important purchases such as expansion, building of homes and businesses and buying new planes. Complete your missions, send off your flights, and get money from the businesses to keep your finances afloat. Missions are tasks that you need to accomplish while playing the game. They will not only help you get more coins, but will also provide additional experience and bonus items. You will need to complete these missions to level up in the game. Leveling up will allow you to get new items, new missions, and will also give you a wider variety of planes and destinations.

You may also opt to sell buildings, planes and other items, but for a much cheaper price. You may also opt to buy additional coins with real money.

Airport City also provides for bonuses that you may use for a certain period of time. For instance, you may use a business class bonus to triple your income from certain flights or the fuel bonus to instantly replenish your fuel reserves. These may be purchased using airport cash, or may be earned by completing tasks and missions. Airport cash is the premium currency in the game and may be purchased using real money or by leveling up. It can be used to override missions, buy bonus items, unlock items effortlessly, and to purchase premium items.

Other Tips
Items may be collected while playing the game, and this is one of the more interesting aspects of Airport City. At times, you will not only get coins from your flights and building but will also receive rare collectibles. Completing certain sets will allow you to trade them in for additional coins, experience, or bonuses.

Logging into Airport City will also make you earn certain bonuses. The prizes increase incrementally for successive logins, so it will be better to play the game on multiple consecutive days.

Visiting Flights are also important, and will make you earn extra coins. You first need to make sure that you have sufficient fuel for these flights, as they take much longer to fuel and load compared to the regular flights.

Decorations are also available, and will help make your city look beautiful and unique. You can opt to decorate your city if you have extra resources, but take note that these are only aesthetic and have no real impact on the performance of your city.

Conclusion
At this point, you should be very familiar with how Airport City works and should be able to achieve great heights in the game. Be warned that while the game may be simple in concept, it will take hours from your day and is very addictive. It also comes free for the most part and may easily be downloaded within minutes. You may need to shell out real money if you want an extra advantage in the game, but using the regular bonuses and coins will also get you really far in the game.
