Mini Golf Matchup Walkthrough [Guide]

Mini Golf Matchup is a golfing game where you can pit your skills against friends in friendly – albeit competitive – rounds of mini golf. A keen eye, steady fingers, and good knowledge of physics and trajectories are essential in order for you to be called as the true master of the green.

Gameplay
The game requires players to challenge other players in five rounds of mini-golf. The player with the highest score at the end of the five rounds will win the battle. Scores depend on how many shots the player took to sink the ball into the hole, and other bonus items will also affect your total score. Players can also complete objectives in order to get stars that they can then use to unlock new courses to do battle in.

Shooting
Each round will place players in a particular course. They can set their ball anywhere within the designated area, and they can set the angle and strength of their shots using their finger. Upon releasing, the ball will roll and can bounce off objects that they hit. Thus, players must be able to properly calculate for angles and other factors so that they can compensate for more difficult shots. The less shots they take under par, the more points they can get.

For more advanced courses, there are several obstacles that players must go around on in order to make the shot. However, some obstacles do have their purposes, so make sure to think how each object in the course can be used to sink your ball in the least amount of shots, taking angles, trajectories, and physics into consideration.

Coins and Gems
Coins and gems are items that can give the players extra points if they can get the ball rolling towards them. Coins are worth 100 points each while gems are worth 2000 points. However, gems are much harder to get, and may require you to go off your original course. If this is the case, then it would be much more prudent to ignore these and just go straight to the hole. If you have extra shots, however, then go for it, by all means.

Mulligans
A mulligan allows players to retake their shot. Each player is given one mulligan per round and can be used at any point. Additional mulligans are also available, but will cost players cash or other resources to acquire. Make sure to use mulligans wisely in order to have an edge over your opponent.

Management and Statistics
Mini Golf Matchup allows players to play with both friends or strangers who are playing the game either through Facebook, Twitter, or through their mobile device. The game has a pretty nifty management screen where players can see ongoing games and their statuses, such as if it is your turn or your opponents’. In addition, the game also has a stats screen where you would be able to see your win-loss record.

Achievements and Goals
Achievements are game wide objectives that players can complete outside of the actual objective of winning games. On the other hand, mini-goals are objectives that can be achieved multiple times over the course of the game. Once achievements or mini-goals have been completed, players will be rewarded with a star. Stars, in turn, can be used to buy new golf courses to play on.

Completing achievements may sometimes adversely affect how players would normally play the game. Thus, it would be advisable to complete as many as possible before seriously pursuing a nice win-loss record. Mini-goals, on the other hand, are usually meant to improve your game, so these are additional benefits that will both earn you points as well as those all important stars.
