G.I. Joe: Battleground Walkthrough [Guide]

Whether “Yo, Joe!” or “Cobraaaaaaa!” is your catchphrase of choice, you would certainly have a ton of fun playing this exciting new card collection battle game from Mobage. G.I. Joe: Battleground allows you to collect popular characters from both G.I. Joe and Cobra, and you can organize your own squad in order to complete missions and battle other players online. Collecting cards is only half the fun, and being able to upgrade your battalion in order to do combat with others will definitely complete the package.

Gameplay
G.I. Joe: Battleground is a battle game where players can collect units, called Recruits, belonging to both the G.I. Joe and Cobra factions. Players can upgrade and promote their units as well as organize them in order to become more formidable in battle. Players can then try and complete missions in order to get rewards so that they can get more cards, and they can also battle online for more items.

Currency
Currency is divided into different categories, with each allowing players to purchase different types of recruits. Different credits will earn them the chance to get cards of increasing rarity as well as strength, and they can be acquired as rewards for finishing zones, as items found in treasure chests, and even as daily bonuses. Additional credits may also be purchased using real life money. Thus, the more you are capable of spending, the better cards you can potentially get. However, getting recruits through this method is purely by chance, so make sure to spend your credits as well as your real money wisely.

Missions
Missions will require players to go to different regions, which is divided into areas, which is further divided into zones. Both G.I. Joe and Cobra factions have different sets of missions, and each mission requires them to travel along one or multiple paths where they might encounter supply crates containing items, as well as opponents that they would have to battle. Players will have to take caution as being defeated in battle will force them to exit the zone. Thus, make sure that you are properly equipped with the right squad as well as the proper items to support and revive your team.

Energy
Energy is required when performing missions. Each movement within the zone will cost energy, and thus is a resource that must be conserved. Energy replenishes at a rate of one every five minutes, and leveling up will also refill your bar completely. Items may also help increase your energy meter so that you can perform more missions.

Leveling Up
Performing missions will earn players experience points that will cause the player to level up. Leveling up will completely refill the energy bar, and give players items such as credit as rewards. Thus, the more you play, the higher your level will go, and the more items you will get.

Cards
All units and items are represented by cards. Cards may be purchased in order to bolster your squad. Like players, cards may also be leveled up as players use them, further increasing their abilities and strengths during combat. Cards vary in rarity as well as strength, so using stronger cards in combat would always be an advantage.

Cards can also be upgraded and promoted. Upgrading will strengthen cards, and this is done by sacrificing other cards that you do not use. Promoting is the combining of two cards of similar type in order to create a stronger card, and this is a much better method than upgrading. Both upgrading and promoting will require currency which is also earned via rewards.

Squads can be arranged during battle, and knowing the proper orientation will give players certain advantages, such as being able to attack first, or having a unit take damage. However, there are also risks inherent in certain arrangements, so players must be able to weigh the pros and cons before heading into battle depending on the arrangement that they have chosen. Also, reserves can be put into place, and players can swap units before heading into battle. Reserve units have the added advantage of healing while they are not at play, so players can have damaged units recover while they do more missions.

Items
Several items can be acquired as rewards, or from supply crates collected during missions. Some items can be used to capture opponents, which will in turn add them to your collection of units. Some items can be used to heal units or have them recover from unconsciousness, while others would refill your energy or ammo. Take notice of all the items in your inventory as they can all be used to help you out during missions as well as in PvP.

PvP
G.I. Joe: Battleground’s PvP function will allow you to battle other players online and test your squad’s strength against theirs. Battles will require you to have ammo, which also recovers over time or refilled via items. Rewards acquired in PvP depend on the number of battles that you have won within a certain time period, and back to back victories are also greatly rewarded.
