This latest DBZ fighting game is not like any of the other DBZ fighting games
that have come before it. It has a focus on co-op and multiplayer action, plus
it boasts an expansive single player mission-based campaign system with
branching paths that allows you to experience conflicts through the eyes of
both the heroes and the villains.

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z chronicles the story of Dragon Ball Z, much like
most DBZ games. Join Goku on his journey and fight with him in his epic
battles against the universe’s most dangerous villains.
The Single Player has a variety of missions that are based on the various DBZ
story arcs, called “Sagas”. Each saga has its own set of missions, that take
place on a variety of different stages and have their own conditions to wins.
To start a mission, click on the “Mission” sphere. Then choose whichever
mission you want to start. The other characters that will be joining you on
the mission will be in their own spheres, but the game will mark which
character you will be controlling.
In the Play Log, you can see your various statistics in the game. You can check
your progress on the missions, see which character you use the most, and
other stats.
Cards can be equipped to make the battles somewhat easier by improving base
stats and providing other benefits. To earn new cards, simply earn high ranks
in the missions. Then equip the cards before starting the next mission.
You can also equip items that are earned in the stages, plus there is the
“Premium Collection” as well, which can have items purchased from it using
Premium Points.
All of this content is accessed by going to the “right” on the mission select
menu.

SAIYAN SAGA
——————-
================================
MISSION 01. BEGINNING OF BATTLE!
================================
Stage: Wasteland
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: This first mission of the game has you playing as Goku and it teaches
you the basics behind the game. Learning how to move around the playing field
in Battle of Z is the first lesson.
Simply follow the commands as they appear on screen. The game will teach you
how to ascend into the air, how to descend, how to dash, and more. Saibamen
enemies will pop up, appearing as red blips on the radar. Go to them to learn
about combat.
Press RB to lock onto the enemies (R1 on PS3). Then use the right stick to
switch between them. The game will then take you through the ropes in regards
to the basics of combat. Again, just follow the on-screen instructions exactly
and you should be fine. Be sure to kill all of the Saibamen or you won’t be
able to progress to the next lesson.
==============================
MISSION 02. A MYSTERIOUS ENEMY
==============================
Stage: Plains
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: Krillin joins Goku for this battle against more Saibamen. The
Saibamen are a bit tougher this time around, mostly because of how they will
spam projectitle attacks. The goal here is to just keep killing them until
they stop coming.
Raditz will then reveal himself. Raditz is a tough fight, but he can be beaten
without TOO much of a headache. Just keep on him until the energy bar is over
halfway and glowing. This means that you can activate your special move.
Krillin will give the audio cue, and when he does, press Y and B together to
activate the Kamehameha. Then it’s just a matter of finishing up the
fight.
============================
MISSION 03. HELLISH TRAINING
============================
Stage: Mountains
Clear Conditions: Defeat Piccolo
Strategy: As Gohan training with Piccolo, you will initially just get your
ass handed to you and there’s not much you can do. Tien, Yamcha (ha!), and
Krillin will then show up to help even the odds.
Fight off Piccolo and his clones. They aren’t that tough since Piccolo is
holding back. Whenever people start talking, it is a sign that you will have
to stop the fight and do something else because Piccolo and his clones will
just automatically block all of your attacks anyway.
The first thing you’ll need to do is give Krillin some of your energy. He
will take about some sexy aerobics classes or something. To lock on to an
ally, click in the right stick. Then you can switch between them by flicking
the stick just as if you were switching between enemies. Get close to Krillin
and then give him your energy.
A little bit later, Yamcha will be knocked out. Revive him by going over to
him, locking on, and then using the item to heal him. After that, just keep
battling Piccolo. The game will teach you various co-op attacks that are
possible to pull off in Battle of Z as well, so pay attention because the AI
counts co-op buddies too remember!
When the fight is over, a large energy portal will appear in the sky. Lock
on to it and mash on the button that pops up on the screen to give up all of
the energy that you earned in the battle. Do this until the time runs out.
The more energy you dump into the portal, the more bonus points you get at the
end of the day.
================================
MISSION 04. THE FEARSOME SAIYAN!
================================
Stage: Wasteland
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: This is a fight with Nappa and Saibamen. Not much to say beyond
that.
==========================
MISSION 05. NAPPA CORNERED
==========================
Stage: Plains (Dusk)
Clear Conditions: Defeat Nappa
Strategy: Another fight with Nappa, but this time he is a lot stronger than
before. There are no Saibamen at his back, but when you get him to below half
of his health, then Vegeta will show up.
Vegeta is not required to defeat. Just ignore him. Let him float above the
stage and fight your co-op partners. Keep yourself focused on Nappa and keep
hitting him until he is defeated.
============================
MISSION 06. AN EMPEROR RISES
============================
Stage: Mountains (Dusk)
Clear Conditions: Defeat Vegeta
Strategy: This mission is a fight with Vegeta. Vegeta will then morph into his
Great Ape form. The battle with the Great Ape is going to take a little more
explanation I’m afraid…
Each of the Great Ape’s body parts need to be targeted one by one. As you can
see, they all have their own separate health bars. Eliminating the bar
completely will stun him momentarily.
This is the time to strike! If you can get his main health bar down all the
way, then you don’t have to bother wearing down the other body parts. Keep
repeating this process until the Great Ape is defeated, just like any other
enemy. Remember to switch between the body parts by first locking on to him
and then using the right stick to change targets.
============================
MISSION 07. A POWERFUL ENEMY
============================
Stage: Plains
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: This mission flips the structure on its head. This time you are
controlling the bad guys and fighting the good guys. You can choose which
bad guy you want to be from the ones that you have unlocked at this point in
the game, whether that is Raditza or Nappa.
You have to fight both Goku and Piccolo. The goal is to just drain both Goku
and Piccolo of all their helath in the fight.
==========================
MISSION 08. THE Z FIGHTERS
==========================
Stage: Wasteland
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: This is another mission where you control the bad guys. This time
you have to fight the Z Fighters, minus Goku and Piccolo. Take them all out to
win. Nothing hard about it.
=============================
MISSION 09. SON GOKU’S ANGER!
=============================
Stage: Mountains (Dusk)
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: Goku consistently gets stronger throughout this fight as you chip
away at his health meter, so do your best to avoid his attacks. He will then
be joined by Krillin and Kid Gohan. Unlike the previous battle with Nappa where
only Nappa had to be defeated, this time you have to defeat Goku PLUS Krillin
and Kid Gohan. Goku is the toughest, and the other two are actually pretty
easy to defeat. You should have Vegeta unlocked at this point, so I recommend
using him in the mission.
==========================
MISSION 10. A BEAST’S ROAR
==========================
Stage: Mountains (Night)
Clear Conditions: Defeat Great Ape Gohan
Strategy: Great Ape Gohan is a fight identical to Vegeta’s ape battle, except
you get to be the bad guys again. Apply the same strategy as before, wearing
down each body part one by one, and then draining his main health bar in order
to be successful here.

——————-
FRIEZA SAGA
——————-
==============================
MISSION 11. DARK SHROUDS NAMEK
==============================
Stage: Namek – Plains
Clear Conditions: Destroy All enemies
Strategy: This introduces you to the new cannon fodder for the Frieza Saga.
Simply known as Frieza Soldiers, these are very easily defeated dudes that
basically take the place of the Saibamen. Just wipe out a few waves of them
and you will be good to go.
=================================
MISSION 12. TELEKINESIS VS COMBAT
=================================
Stage: Namek – Wasteland
Clear Conditions: Defeat the Ginyu Force
Strategy: The first two members of the Ginyu Force have to be dealt with now.
You have to fight them one at a time, so it’s not too bad. They will have a
bunch of Frieza Soldiers helping them out, but ignore them for now and just
focus on taking out the main enemy.
After beating the first Ginyu Force member, the second one will pop up. Defeat
him as well, and you will be good. The first dude is named Gurd, and he has a
tendency to teleport around a lot, so you may need to mainly rely on
projectiles to take him down.
Recoome is the second Ginyu Force member. You can fight him in a more
traditional manner, which would consist of just getting in close and wailling
on him for the most part.
============================
MISSION 13. JEICE AND BURTER
============================
Stage: Namek – Wasteland
Clear Conditions: Defeat the Ginyu Force
Strategy: Jeice and Burter are the next two Ginyu Force members to deal with.
Remember to just ignore the Frieza Soldiers here and just throw everything
that you have at Jeice and Burter.
Upon defeating Burter, Jeice will be up. Jeice will flee after you’ve drained
his health bar almost all of the way. Just let him escape and the mission will
be completed.
===============================
MISSION 14. IT’S CAPTAIN GINYU!
===============================
Stage: Namek – Plains
Clear Conditions: Defeat the Ginyu Force
Strategy: Captain Ginyu and Jeice have to be fought together. Ginyu is fairly
strong, but the same strategies as before apply. Ignore the Frieza Soldiers
because your AI co-op partners will take care of them, and just focus all of
your efforts at Captain Ginyu and Jeice.
==============================
MISSION 15. FRIEZA TRANSFORMS!
==============================
Stage: Namek – Wasteland
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: At this point, you have to fight Frieza’s first three forms. The
first form is easy enough, but he will just keep getting tougher and tougher
from there on out. Frieza is actually easier to fight than some of the Ginyu
Force members because it is way easier to get in close and deal melee damage to
him so you aren’t forced on relying on projectiles as much.
===============================
MISSION 16. HELLISH FEAR BEGINS
===============================
Stage: Namek – Wasteland
Clear Conditoins: Defeat Frieza or 3 minute pass from mission start
Strategy: Frieza is now at the point where his power is insane. He can kill
you with just a few shots. His projectile purple beam attacks are especially
dangerous, so they need to be avoided at all costs.
There is a second way to win this mission, and it is to simply let the timer
run out. Obviously, you should at least try to defeat Frieza within the
allotted three minute window, but if you just let the time run out, then you
will still pass the mission with a solid B rating, assuming you didn’t do
too terrible in the fight.
=======================
MISSION 17. HOPE WANING
=======================
Stage: Namek – Ruins
Clear Conditions: Defeat Frieza within 5 minutes
Strategy: Frieza is now at full power and you only have five minutes to defeat
him. Just throw everything you have at him. Once your energy meter is full
enough to use Kamehameha, use that without hesitation. Just lay into Frieza
like none other and try to get in close and corner him so he can’t use his
projectile attacks too much because those will wipe you out in the blink of an
eye.
==============================
MISSION 18. POWER FROM REVIVAL
==============================
Stage: Namek – Wasteland
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: Now you can be Frieza! Or any of the Ginyu Force members, assuming
you went through the “good guy” arc before doing this…and considering the
numerical order of the missions, you definitely should’ve done that anyways.
Fight the Z Fighters as the bad guys is really all this amounts to…except
there is a twist. The good guys have Senzu Beans, so you will have to whittle
down their health bars a total of three times before they will stop coming
back.
============================
MISSION 19. THE SUPER SAIYAN
============================
Stage: Namek – Wasteland
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: Goku, Vegeta, and Krillin are in this fight. Focus on Krillin once
he shows up because it is pointless to fight Goku right now anyway. Once
Krillin is defeated, Goku will go Super Saiyan, so hopefully you haven’t been
wasting your time with Goku because he’ll just be revived at this juncture.
Super Saiyan Goku is like full powered Frieza. So the tables have been turned,
so to speak. The same basic strategy applies to Super Saiyan Goku.
================================
MISSION 20. THE FURIOUS SON GOKU
================================
Stage: Namek – Ruins
Clear Conditions: Defeat Super Saiyan Goku
Strategy: Super Saiyan Goku fight continued. Again, this is basically a mirror
of the fight with Frieza from earlier, except now you are on the side of
Frieza and his cronies.

——————-
ANDROID SAGA
——————-
===========================
MISSION 21. A FUTURE SAIYAN
===========================
Stage: Wasteland (Dusk)
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: This will begin as a sparring match. Basically, the character that
you choose to control and the characters that you choose to be your partners
will be replicated and you have to fight yourselves.
Eventually, Trunks (Sword) will show up for the fight as well. Everyone has
to be defeated regardless, so don’t give special attention to Trunks unless
absolutely unnecessary. Defeating him once will cause him to go into Super
Saiyan form, so then you have to keep fighting him. That’s why it is better to
get rid of everyone else before dealing with him.
================================
MISSION 22. THE RED RIBBON ARMY!
================================
Stage: Mountains
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: Dr. Gero and Android #19 will show up. Android #19 will tend to stay
back, firing projectiles mainly, and Dr. Gero will run up and protect him if
you try to get to him. Because of this, focus your attention on Dr. Gero
first.
After Dr. Gero is taken out, you can then go to work on Android #19 with
minimal headaches.
==============================
MISSION 23. #17 AND #18 AWAKEN
==============================
Stage: Wasteland
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: Go after whichever Android that you want. Both of them need to be
defeated, and it’s not really all that difficult to take them out. They don’t
really compliment one another well, so it’s not an Android #19/Dr. Gero
situation where you should focus on one first and then goa fter the other.
=================================
MISSION 24. THE CREATURE APPEARS!
=================================
Stage: Destroyed City
Clear Conditions: Defeat Cell or 3 minutes pass from mission start
Strategy: Cell will appear in his 1st Form. Defeat him before 3 minutes is up
and you will be rewarded with a bunch of extra points to spend at the store.
Keep in mind that he is extremely fast and will spend the majority of this
mission simply trying to dodge you. Spamming projectiles at him is a good way
to get in close to lay in with the more effective melee attacks.
==========================
MISSION 25. CELL’S PRELUDE
==========================
Stage: Island
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: One of the toughest missions in the game up to this point, Mission
25. Cell’s Prelude first tasks you with fighting Android #17 and Android #16.
Android #16 is especially tough, dealing plenty of melee damage while also
having a large resistance to attack. Android #17 is the same as before, where
he is actually fairly easy to defeat.
I recommend getting Android #17 out of the way first simply because he is
easier to defeat and he makes fighting Android #16 a lot harder than it needs
to be. At least with #17 out of the picture, you and everyone on your team can
all gang up on Android #16 and hopefully take him out without suffering too
much damage and losing too many lives.
When they’re both defeated, Android #18 will return. Just ignore her. Revive
your partners if they get down, but fighting her is futile. Cell shows up
shortly thereafter and will attack her until he can fully absorb her body and
therefore make himself that much more powerful.
While Cell is attacking Android #18, DO NOT GET CLOSE TO THEM. If Cell hits
you with one of his attacks meant for #18, it will knock you down immediately.
Obviously this can create some problems…
After Cell is done absorbing Android #18, he will become Cell Perfect Form. He
is basically as strong as a Super Saiyan Goku or Frieza’s final form was back
in the Frieza Saga missions. That being said, he tends to block attacks a LOT
more than they ever did, so that makes it more difficult to land effective
shots.
Just keep at it and you should be able to slay Cell.
============================
MISSION 26. THE PERFECT BODY
============================
Stage: Cell Games Arena
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: This mission is especially long, but you get 15 minutes to complete
it. And believe me, you will need all 15 of those minutes. The first wave is
fighting little Cell clones. This is the easiest part of the mission. They are
basically like the Saibamen or th Frieza Soldiers. Nothing but tin cans set up
for you to knock over.
Upon destroying all of the Cell Clones, you then have to deal with Cell Perfect
Form again. Defeat him just like you did before and he will become Perfect
Cell, which basically means he’s even more powerful and strong than before.
==========================
MISSION 27. ANOTHER ENDING
==========================
Stage: Destroyed City
Clear Conditions: Annihilate the Androids
Strategy: First you have to fight Androids #17 and #18 yet again. Just like
before, it doesn’t really matter who you go after first. Just get rid of both
of them and then you have to fight Cell 1st Form. Cell 1st Form is not that
powerful, and so this mission is really a walk in the park compared to the
last few missions that you’ve gone through against Cell…
===============================
MISSION 28. Z FIGHTERS’ PURSUIT
===============================
Stage: Destroyed City
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: Yay! Time for you to be the incredibly powerful bad guys! Pick
whichever bad guys that you want to be from this Saga, and then it’s time to
get you some Z Fighters!
You will have to fight four of them. Piccolo, Tien, Krillin, and Yamcha. It is
wise to go after the strongest first and then take out the weaker ones. So
fight them in the order that I have listed them. Piccolo is the biggest threat,
followed by Tien, then Krillin, and then Yamcha.
================================
MISSION 29. A CALM AND PURE EVIL
================================
Stage: Mountains
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: The first wave of this battle is against Super Saiyan Goku and
Super Saiyan Vegeta. Focus your energy on Super Saiyan Vegeta and get him
down fairly low. This will trigger a scene where Teen Gohan and Piccolo show
up. Goku will turn back to his regular self, and then he’ll have to exit the
battle.
At that point, finish off Super Saiyan Vegeta immediately. Then turn your
attention to the scraps, Piccolo and Teen Gohan. They are easy pickings at this
point now that the Super Saiyans have been dealt with.
========================
30. PARENT-AND-SON FIGHT
========================
Stage: Island
Clear Conditions: Defeat Cell
Strategy: As the Androids, you have to fight Super Saiyan Vegeta, Super Saiyan
Trunks, and Cell 2nd Form. Take otu the Saiyans first since they pose the
largest threat, then worry about Cell. You and your Android buddies should
really have no problem making short work of the opponents in this mission,
especially after the Saiyans have been taken out of the picture.
=================================
MISSION 31. A FIGHTER BEYOND GOKU
=================================
Stage: Cell Games Arena
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: Once again as Cell, first you have to fight Super Saiyan Goku. Once
he is defeated, you have to fight Super Saiyan Teen Gohan, Super Saiyan Vegeta,
Super Saiyan Trunks, and Android #16.
The Super Saiyans are tough, but Android #16 will be the biggest thorn in your
side…at least, he was in mine. Get rid of him and then worry about the rest
of the batch.
There will then be a third wave for this mission. It will be you and your
allies against Super Saiyan 2 Teen Gohan. He is very powerful…about on par
with Perfect Cell from earlier in this saga.
To Top
——————-
BUU SAGA
——————-
===========================
MISSION 32. DABURA APPEARS!
===========================
Stage: Wasteland
Clear Conditions: Defeat Dabura
Strategy: The fight with Demon King Dabura is pretty much just a regular fight
at first. However, after his health meter is taken below the halfway mark, he
throws a wrench into the proceedings by healing himself.
This just means that you have to keep fighting him some more until you can
drain his health all the way back down. The fight doesn’t really get any more
difficult than what it was at the start.
=================================
MISSION 33. IS THIS…MAJIN BUU?!
=================================
Stage: Mountains
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: First off, you will be fighting Majin Vegeta and Demon King Dabura.
When they have been dealt a certain amount of damage, Majin Buu will join the
fray as well. No gimmicks or anything to worry about this time.
==============================
MISSION 34. BUU BUU MAJIN FARM
==============================
Stage: Plains
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: First it is another fight with Majin Buu, with him being just as
strong as he was before in Mission 33. Defeating him this time will cause him
to split up into five different forms of himself. That means you have to fight
a bunch of Majin Buu simultaneously. Just do what you’ve been doing the entire
game and you should be fine.
This is going to take a long time, but you should still have plenty of time
left on the clock after you’ve gotten rid of all of them. Doing so will cause
Majin Buu to become Evil Buu. Evil Buu is yet again just a more powerful
version of Buu. Fighting him is about as tough as fighting Cell, more or less,
so since you’ve beaten Cell to get this point, you shouldn’t have too much
troubles against Evil Buu.
=================================
MISSION 35. INVASION OF MAJIN BUU
=================================
Stage: Supreme Kai’s World
Clear Conditions: Defeat Majin Buu
Strategy: Kid Buu doesn’t deal as much damage as Evil Buu…or at least, he
will definitely not hit you as much. Where he gets tough is the insane amount
of defense he has going for him. You will have to dump all of your attacks
into him constantly just to beat the clock in this mission. Do NOT let up on
Kid Buu for any reason during this fight or you will fail.
==========================
MISSION 36. SUPER SAIYAN 3
==========================
Stage: Island
Clear Conditions: Beat SS 3 Goku or survive for 3 minutes
Strategy: Time to be Buu now! Get your team of Buu and Buu cronies to fight a
Super Saiyan 2 Goku. Getting his health down far enough will cause him to
become Super Saiyan 3 Goku. This basically mimics Buu becoming Evil Buu
earlier…the difficulty level is about the same at least.
===============================
MISSION 37. THE FUSION FIGHTER!
===============================
Stage: Hyperbolic Time Chamber
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: Multiple waves for this fight. First you have to fight Goten and
Trunks at the same time. Since they’re just little kids, they are actually
very easily defeated.
Beating them will cause them to fuse into Gotenks. He is also very easily
defeated. He will turn into Super Saiyan Gotenks, which is considerably less
easy to defeat. Defeating him will cause him to turn into Super Saiyan 3
Gotenks, flanked by Piccolo.
Get rid of Piccolo first, then worry about Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks. Piccolo is
a lot easier to defeat than him, after all.
===============================
MISSION 38. GOHAN’S RETALIATES!
===============================
Stage: Mountains
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: This fight is against Ultimate Gohan, Super Saiyan Goku, Piccolo,
and Tien at the start. I think you should go from weakest to strongest this
time since it is just so much faster to get rid of the weaker guys. Usually
I would recommend going after the stronger guys first, but this mission (and
the one before it, for that matter) just make it easier to get rid of the
weaker guys and then worrying about the tough guys. This is because of the
insane power of Buu I think, which means you are able to defeat the opponents
MUCH faster than you would otherwise.
So basically, usually it is smarter to get rid of the tougher enemies first,
since they will wind up killing you if you don’t, but when using someone like
Buu, it’s better to get rid of the weaker enemies since they can be defeated
without much effort and if you leave them alive, they will just constantly
cause you problems while you worry about the stronger enemies like Ultimate
Gohan and Super Saiyan Goku.
================================
MISSION 39. THE UNIVERSAL BATTLE
================================
Stage: Supreme Kai’s World
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: Super Saiyan 3 Goku, Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta, and Majin Buu are your
enemies here. This is just an insane battle. Super Saiyan 3 Goku will
absolutely decimate you unless you get rid of him early on, so focus all of
your attention on him.
After that, Majin Buu and Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta can be picked off in any order
really. But you HAVE to get rid of Super Saiyan 3 Goku as soon as possible or
else you are just going to be screwed right out of the gate.

ANOTHER AGE
——————-
=================================
MISSION 40. AN UNFORTUNATE BOUNTY
=================================
Stage: Wasteland
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: Saibamen everywhere! Mission 40 tasks you with fighting wave after
wave after wave of Saibamen. The Saibamen will keep getting stronger and
stronger as you continue destroying all of them. They will change color as
well to show you their power levels.
=======================
MISSION 41. TEAM SAIYAN
=======================
Stage: Plains (Dusk)
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: Be the bad guys from the Saiyan Saga (Frieza and his forms and
his cronies for your allies) against Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz.
==============================
MISSION 42. REVOLTING SOLDIERS
==============================
Stage: Namek – Plains
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: Mission 42 is very similar to Mission 40. But instead of fighting
seemingly endless waves of Saibamen, you are fighting seemingly endless waves
of Frieza Soldiers. Bring out your absolute best for this mission as it is
going to take a long time and the Frieza Soldiers just get stronger and
stronger with each passing wave…
================================
MISSION 43. ULTIMATE GINYU FORCE
================================
Stage: Namek – Wasteland
Clear Conditions: Destroy the Ginyu Force
Strategy: The opponents in this mission are Ginyu, Jeice, Recoome, Gulda,
and Burter. The Ginyu Force! Fighting all of them at once might seem
overwhelming at first, but it’s not too bad. I recommend taking out Gulda
first, then Recoome. After that, worry about Burter. Jeice and Ginyu can be
saved for last. The reason I suggest the aforementioned order is because the
first two dudes are a pain in the ass, zipping around everywhere and pelting
you with projectiles among other annoying attacks.
================================
MISSION 44. THE WARRIOR, BARDOCK
================================
Stage: Destroyed City
Clear Conditions: Defeat Bardock
Strategy: First up you have to fight Bardock and four Saibamen. Get rid of the
Saibamen first since they are very easy to defeat and not doing so will just
cause them to annoy the hell out of you while you try to get rid of Bardock.
Then worry about Bardock.
Defeating Bardock in his regular form will cause him to shift into Great Ape
Bardock. Luckily for you, the strategy with Great Ape Bardock is the same as
the strategy has been for all of the Great Ape enemies throughout the entire
game.
Go for the body parts. Once a body part is disabled, you are able to freely
drain his main health bar. Keep doing this until he is defeated. That’s really
all there is to it.
=======================
MISSION 45. SPIRIT BOMB
=======================
Stage: Namek – Ruins
Clear Conditions: Defeat Frieza with an Ultimate Move
Strategy: you have to fight Frieza’s First Form, Second Form, Third Form, and
Final Form all at the same time. This fight is purposefully very long and
strenuous so that by the time you get to the end, you will have your Energy
bar completely filled for sure.
When this happens, you have to hold in the left bummper and then X+A on the
Xbox 360 and Square+X on the PS3. Doing this will allow you to charge your
“Ultimate Attack”. Ultimate Attacks are so very rare throughout the rest of
the single player that you almost NEVER encounter them, and so that is
probably why the tutorial explaining how to do them is buried all the way at
Mission 45.
Once you’ve activated the Ultimate, mash on the B button to build up energy.
This will cause Goku to create a giant Spirit Bomb. Use the Spirit Bomb
successfully to complete the mission and defeat whatever is left of Frieza and
his many forms.

EXTRA AGE

MISSION 46. THE REVENGE OF COOLER
=================================
Stage: Wasteland (Dusk)
Clear Conditions: Defeat Cooler
Strategy: Cooler is kind of a joke at this point in the game. There is nothing
to the fight except beating him. Considering all of the different characters
and items you should have unlocked at this point, Cooler should be a walk in
the park.
===========================
MISSION 47. TRUE FINAL FORM
===========================
Stage: Mountains
Clear Conditions: Defeat Cooler Final Form
Strategy: Poor Cooler. Yeah, you may have a little bit more trouble with
Cooler’s Final Form, but again, it shouldn’t be that hard considering how
late in the game this is. Just mash melee, fire projectiles when you feel
like it, use your special moves…you could probably even get away with just
button mashing to victory if you really wanted to.
=============================
MISSION 48. THE BIG GETE STAR
=============================
Stage: Big Gete Star
Clear Conditions: Destroy Meta-Cooler Core
Strategy: This seems like a big deal at first, but Meta-Cooler is just a copy
and paste of the Great Ape battles. So the same strategies you use for the
Great Apes can be applied directly to this fight with Meta-Cooler.
Just in case, I will give you a refresher anyways. Focus on one of his
body parts; whether that be his limbs, head, or whatever. Damaging one all the
way to the point that its health bar is completely drained will in turn
temporarily demobilize Meta-Cooler.
This will leave him vulnerable to attacks directly to his main health bar. It
is possible to defeat him without having to take down every part of his body
if you move quick enough and hit him with powerful enough attacks. At any
rate, if you fail to defeat him by draining his main health bar all the way,
you can just keep taking out his body parts to knock him back down again so
you can continue to attack his main health bar.
==============================
MISSION 49. SUPER SAIYAN BROLY
==============================
Stage: Wasteland (Night)
Clear Conditions: Defeat Broly
Strategy: Ignore the Saibamen. Go right for Broly. Defeating him the first
time will cause him to turn into Legendary Super Saiyan Broly. You didn’t
think it’d be that easy, did you?
Legendary Super Saiyan Broly is absolutely ridiculous. It’s not so much being
attacked by him and losing all your lives that you need to worry about, but
he has a defense that is just INSANE. This will be a tiring fight. It’s not
really that hard, just a test of endurance.
===============================
MISSION 50. HIRUDEGARN REVIVES!
===============================
Stage: Destroyed City
Clear Conditions: Defeat Hirudegarn
Strategy: Another Great Ape copy. Go for the individual body parts. Then
attack him when he’s down. That’s all there is to it.

SPECIAL AGE

==============================
MISSION 51. NOBLE SAIYAN BLOOD
==============================
Stage: Island
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: This fight is against Raditz, Nappa, Bardock, and Vegeta. This first
wave of the battle is the easy part.
After defeating them, you will then have to fight Super Saiyan Goku, Super
Saiyan Vegeta, Super Saiyan Bardock, and Super Saiyan Broly. Broly will pose
the largest threat, so take him out first. The others aren’t too bad, but
Broly needs to be gotten rid of right away.
================================
MISSION 52. GREATEST FAMILY EVER
================================
Stage: Namek – Ruins
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: As you’ll come to notice, this “Special Age” saga pretty much drops
the story in favor of having interesting themed fights. The first wave is
against Frieza First Form, Cooler, Ginyu, and Frieza Soldier.
But this fight has a gimmick that makes it really, really hard if you don’t
know what you are doing. Basically, every time you defeat a member of the
Ginyu Force, they are replaced by another member of the Ginyu Force. What you
will want to do first is get rid of all the Ginyu Force members.
So first take out Ginyu and Frieza Soldier. Frieza First Form and Cooler will
not be that big of a deal to worry about while you work on getting rid of the
entire Ginyu Force. Once they’re done with, I’d suggest going after Frieza.
Defeating Frieza First Form will trigger the transformation to his next form
and so on and so forth.
When Frieza is done, turn your attention to Cooler. It will be the same story
with him. He will keep morphing until he reaches Meta-Cooler. So now you see
why you should save Cooler for last. Him turning into Meta-Cooler certainly
complicates matters, but just use the Great Ape strategy of targeting specific
body parts and then going after the main health meter and you will be golden.
================================
MISSION 53. ANDROID MASTERPIECES
================================
Stage: Cell Games Arena
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: First up is Android #19, Dr. Gero, Cell 1st Form, and Cell Jr. Just
like with the Frieza family battle from before, defeating these enemies will
cause them to advance to their next counterpart. Get rid of all the Androids
and Cell Jr. before you even think about going after Cell and causing him to
morph into his tougher forms.
Once every single Android is taken care of, especially #16, then worry about
fighting Cell. Again, fighting Cell is going to cause him to morph into his
tougher forms, and you don’t want to fight Perfect Cell while also fighting
Androids. That is just a nightmare waiting to happen.
===============================
MISSION 54. THE FEARSOME MAJINS
===============================
Stage: Supreme Kai’s World
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: There’s no form shifting here…at least at first. You are given the
chance to get rid of all of the enemies that are here from the start until the
second wave starts. The enemies at the start at Evil Buu, Majin Buu, Demon
King Dabura, and Majin Vegeta.
Defeating all of them will then trigger the second wave. You will have to fight
Super Buu and Kid Buu at the same time.
==========================
MISSION 55. ENEMIES UNITE!
==========================
Stage: Hyperbolic Time Chamber
Clear conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: All the main enemies from each of the major sagas team up in this
mission. So you have the main antagonist of the Saiyan Saga, Vegeta. You have
the main antagonist of the Frieza Saga, Frieza Final Form. You have the main
antagonist of the Android Saga, Cell Perfect Form. And finally, you have Kid
Buu, obviously the main antagonist of the Buu Saga.
There are no annoying transformations or anything like that this time around.
Defeating an enemy once will cause them to be gone for good, so just worry
about thinning the herd here.
===========================
MISSION 56. VEGETA’S FAMILY
===========================
Stage: Destroyed City
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: Vegeta, Trunks (Sword), and Kid Trunks are the ones you have to
fight first. Defeating Vegeta will cause him to turn into Super Saiyan Vegeta.
Defeating Trunks (Sword) will cause him to turn into his Super Saiyan form as
well. Kid Trunks will then become Super Trunks.
Go after Trunks first. Then defeat his Super Saiyan form. That will take him
out of the picture for the rest of the battle. Defeating Super Saiyan Vegeta
will cause him to turn into Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta. Wipe everyone out to win
the mission.
=========================
MISSION 57. GOKU’S FAMILY
=========================
Stage: Plains
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: Goku, Goku’s brother Raditz, Goku’s father Bardock, and of course,
Goku’s son Kid Gohan are the enemies in this mission. Remember that defeating
them will cause them to turn into their Super Saiyan forms, making this battle
a lot tougher than it would be otherwise.
================================
MISSION 58. NEW WORLD TOURNAMENT
================================
Stage: World Tournament
Clear Conditions: Beat all enemies or survive for 5 minutes
Strategy: OK, this mission is just a ton of fights one after another. You can
get rid of all the enemies, or you can worry about defense and then just worry
about that. To tell your allies to focus on defense, press “down” on the
d-pad.
Of course, winning by defeating all the enemies will earn you a higher rank.
If you want your allies to focus on using all their energy and attack, press
“up” on the d-pad.
==============================
MISSION 59. GOD OF DESTRUCTION
==============================
Stage: Wasteland (Night)
Clear Conditions: Destroy all enemies
Strategy: After going through a variety of “big bads” that you’ve encountered
before up to this point, it’s time for some new blood! You get to face the
bad guys from the newest Dragon Ball Z movie, Battle of Gods. You get to
fight God of Destruction Beerus and his companion Whis. Defeating them will
end this lengthy mission.
===============================
MISSION 60. THE ULTIMATE VEGITO
===============================
Stage: Plains
Clear Conditions: Defeat Super Saiyan Vegito
Strategy: The ultimate test of endurance. You are jerked around to each of
the different stages in the game and you basically fight every single character
that there is to fight, good or bad. This all culminates in a fight against
Super Vegito, who honestly isn’t that threatening considering you just fought
practically EVERYONE IN THE GAME just to get to him.

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z has online only multiplayer. The multiplayer is
separated out into two distinct categories.
For one, there is a co-op mode. In co-op mode, you play through some of the
single player missions, but with real people controlling the partners instead
of having to rely on the AI.
In the battle mode, it is competitive multiplayer, with each character once
again controlled by a real world person through Xbox Live, PlayStation
Network, etc.
All the stages and characters that you can use in the multiplayer are the same
that are encountered in the single player mode.
