Gameplay
Wrestling Revolution 3D is a wrestling simulation game where in players can take part in different matches using various types of characters. Gameplay is more of a beat ‘em up experience, but better players can use different types of moves and strategies to increase their chances of winning. Matches have no bearing in your career and with regards to the development of your character’s abilities and the selection of matches available are random. However, succeeding updates may allow for a career mode that will improve and enhance the gaming experience as well as provide new content.

Controls
Wrestling Revolution 3D features many different virtual buttons. Four are used for directing your character, and double tapping in the same direction will cause the character to roll that particular way. Other buttons are used for attacking, grappling, running, picking up objects, changing targets, and even performing taunts and special actions. These buttons can be paired up together in order to make your wrestlers do more complicated moves such as special attacks, moving behind the opponents, diving or springboarding off ropes, and many more. The tutorial included within the game provides a more detailed explanation of how these moves can be combined with each other.

Special Moves
Special moves are attacks that can be activated once players are under certain situations, the most common of which are grapples and when the player is behind the opponent. Special attacks can also be made when running, when they are on the top rope, or when the opponent in running prone on the floor. Different button combinations can be made which would make your character perform a different attack. These attacks can be customized in the edit section of the game. Again, the tutorial provides a more detailed explanation for these.

Another special move is the finisher, which can only be activated if the special meter has been filled up. This meter will fill up as players make attacks, and also when players do taunts. Special moves are automatically activated once they perform a grapple attack. It is wise for players to practice moves and attacks in the training section of the game so that they would be better acclimated to perform more powerful and more damage dealing attacks to opponents, allowing them to take opponents down much faster and effectively.

Weapons
Under certain circumstances, weapons will be made available to players. They can then pick these items up and use them to strike at enemies and other characters. Be very careful, though, as some match types will not allow these and getting caught using weapons may cause you to get disqualified. When used wisely, however, weapons can prove very effective in dealing heavy damage to enemies, so prioritize using weapons whenever they are available and whenever doing so is sanctioned within the match.

Matches
Wrestling Revolution 3D features different types of matches. There are both single and tag team matches available with different rules and stipulations. These matches are generated randomly, and knowing the rules of each match is important. Take note that some match types allows the use of weapons while some would cause you to get disqualified if you attacked others using foreign objects. There are also steel cage matches where in the goal is to escape the cage, and rumble matches where in the goal is to eliminate all opponents by tossing them over the top rope, among others.

Tips and Tricks
While players can pretty much survive by button mashing, adding finesse into your game can really count. As a beginner, focus on basic attacks for the majority of your offense. Once you have mastered the timing, then move on to making grapple moves. After that, prioritize getting used to running or even diving attacks. Having a diverse move set will certainly be an advantage as you will be dangerous under all types of situations.

It is also very important to get used to how your character moves. Take note that exiting or entering the ring, climbing up tables, and going up or down cage walls can be done by moving your character in the direction of the obstacle. Mastering proper movement is very important, and so is being able to properly target your opponent especially if you are in elimination type matches or are not working one on one matches. Proper positioning is always key as this can put you in a more advantageous position to either attack or defend.

Another thing that players would have to consider is the settings. Players can customize various things within the game such as animation speeds, difficulty, camera angles, and many more. Make settings based on your preferences and skill level, but take note that some effects, such as having too many people in the ring at a time, might affect game performance. Start with the easiest difficulty setting and then move to the more advanced modes as you grow your expertise within the game.
