2. Campaign Missions
- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - -
The campaign missions in Far Cry 4 can sometimes branch off in terms of story, but for the most part, the gameplay experience will be the same for everyone, and what you do in the mission will be the same. This section of the guide is designed to get you through the entirety of campaign missions that are in the game.

There are some missions in the campaign that can be done in a different order than what is presented in this guide. Please check out the table of contents to see which order the missions are in this guide.

The main campaign is comprised of 32 missions in total, plus other bonus missions that you will complete along the way as well.

========
PROLOGUE
========
The prologue is actually three different missions rolled into one. However, since they all comprise the prologue and are all very short, I am going to keep them all under the prologue umbrella.

It will be a while before you have direct control of Ajay Ghale. When you do have control of him, there is a chest on this upper floor that you can loot. Then just go downstairs and go through the doors.

Following another scene, run forward by pushing in the left analog stick. Just keep sprinting forward until you reach the blue vehicle that you are supposed to get in. Enter the vehicle and then defend it from the enemies that are chasing you. You can do this with the machine pistol that you are provided with for this mission.

Eventually, the vehicle will crash. After it crashes, it’s time to learn the stealth mechanics in the game. Crouch and wait for the enemies to spread out and look for you. Kill the one in your way with a stealth kill, then make your way across the stream.

Another enemy will be blocking the path. Get him out of the way by throwing a rock to distract him. Do this with the d-pad. When he moves out of the way, you can safely proceed.

You’ll then reach an area of deep water. Go underneath the water and swim to the opposite side to avoid being detected. Next you will find a dead animal on the ground that you can skin. Do this to get bait. Open the weapon wheel and equip the bait. Just over the next ridge, you will see multiple enemies. Toss the bait at them. This will attract a bear that will attack them, allowing you to continue safely.

Next you will reach a compound of sorts. Equip your camera to mark the enemies and animals in the area. Then simply walk underneath the building here. Keep following the objective marker and you will reach a gap. Get a running start and jump to get over the gap. Do this at the next gap as well.

A rope will be thrown down for you when you reach the cliff wall. Climb the rope using the right trigger. You can now make your way to the tower. Inside the tower is plenty of ammunition and other supplies. Gather it up and then go to the second floor. Take cover here and kill the enemies as they come in.

An avalanche will signal the end of the prologue.

===============
THE WOLVES’ DEN
===============
Drive the four-wheeler to the old woman. Talk with her. During the conversation, you should check out the hidden area right behind her. It’s boarded off, but you can duck, smash through the boards and go inside. You will find a hidden stockpile of ammunition and the like. Grab it all before you leave.

Head over to the vantage point. On the way, you will encounter a wolf. Kill the wolf using the bow to get a clean kill. Skin it to get the amount of skins that are required.

Now head over to the vantage point. Whip out your camera and look over to the den. There should be about four wolves there, some dead animals, and some dead dudes. Make your way to the den now and kill any wolves outside of it. The others will probably retreat inside.

Go inside and kill them. Be sure to loot the nearby chest just outside of the den’s entrance, and loot the dead dudes lying on the ground. Skin the animals as well. Inside the den proper, check the back of it to find another dead guy that has a bunch of supplies littered all about him. Among these supplies is a fire arrow, so snag that.

Exit the den. Back up pretty far, but not so far that the explosive red barrel at the mouth of the den is no longer visible. Equip a fire arrow and send it flying into the den, hopefully hitting the barrel and in turn causing an explosion that will destroy the den. Now return to the old woman to deliver the pelts as well as the good news that her wolf problem has been taken care of.

==================
PROPAGANDA MACHINE
==================
Make your way to the bell tower. To get there, use the zipline. Then drive to the “site of the accident”. Here you will find loot as well as a grappling hook.

The grappling hook is used to make your way up to the bell tower. Use it to scale cliffs and swing across gaps. When you get to the bell tower, there will be enemies. Shoot the beehive above the door to distract and kill them.

With the enemies dead, climb up to the top of the tower. Activate the radio. Simple as that. This is how you unlock new areas on your map, by the way. It is similar to the “synchronization” game mechanic that is found in the Assassin’s Creed games.

RETURN TO SENDER
================
Before you can start this mission, you have to go speak with Longinus for the first time. Talk with him, then quickly get on a vehicle as you only have six minutes to get to the village. You will have to scale the cliff walls a bit to get there, but once you arrive, the timer stops.

There are army soldiers all over the place, lighting the village on fire and killing people. Walk around the village and kill the soldiers. When they have all been killed, reinforcements will be dropped off in helicopters. Kill the reinforcements as well, and then hurry to the building where Bhada is.

Behind the building is a ledge that you can pull yourself up on. Climb up the ledge and then quickly get out your weapon as an enemy on fire will rush you. Kill him and climb through the window. Drop to the lower floor and pick up Bhada. She is lying against the far wall, on the floor.

===================
HOSTAGE NEGOTIATION
===================
Upon nearing the area full of hostages, you will come across a bow. Make sure you have the bow as you will want to be stealthy. If you already have one, then just pick up the arrows to replenish your ammunition.

This is a very simple process of freeing the hostages. You have to have at least two of the hostages survive this, but you should be able to save all of them.

Take out all the enemies from afar with the bow. You can’t untie the hostages until all the enemies are dealt with, so just keep moving through the highlighted area and take out the enemies with the bow. Be sure to move over their dead bodies to get your arrows back.

When they’re all dead, go around and untie each hostage.

=========
INCURSION
=========
Now it’s time to learn how to liberate an outpost. This is very similar to the method from Far Cry 3; simply go to the outpost, kill everyone there, and then reap the rewards.

This first outpost is very easy to liberate. Approach it from the north and you will be behind a cage with an elephant inside of it. Toss a grenade at the gate keeping the elephant inside, then just hang back and let the elephant do all the work for you.

===================
HUNTED OR BE HUNTED (AMITA MISSION)
===================
At this point, there are two different missions that you can do. First visit the Golden Path, and then afterwards you have to choose whether to support Amita or Sabal. Your choices will also influence some of the mission objectives later in the game as well.

Whenever there is a point when you can choose between Amita or Sabal, this guide will post the Amita mission first, then the Sabal mission second. So if you went with Sabal, just scroll down to the next mission. Most of the missions in the game will still be the same for the most part regardless of who you choose, so this won’t be too much of a problem.

The first objective in Hunt or be Hunted tasks you with visiting the Alpha Camp. Upon arriving, it is clear that the enemies called Hunters, stealth enemies equipped with bows, have wiped out everyone in the camp. Now is the time to go around and collect intel on this situation.

There are a few Hunters that stayed behind. Kill them however you wish before you go about searching the dead bodies. You will be able to tell if a dead body has intel if it says “SEARCH” when you are near them as opposed to “TAKE MONEY”.

Okay, so in the first highlighted area, you’re going to want to search the dead body that is in the temple-like area. Near that temple area are vines on the cliff wall. Climb the vines and you will encounter a couple more hunters up there as well as another highlighted area to search. Check the dead body in the temple part here for more intel.

Now head to the third highlighted area, which is quite a wide area. In the center of this is a pool of water. Go into the water and swim down. There is the final body at the bottom of the pond here. There’s also a big ass deadly fish, so avoid him. Quickly swim to the dead body, loot it for the intel, and then return to the surface.

The next objective is to go to the Bravo Camp. The hunters have killed all of the Golden Path soldiers here, and you need to avenge their deaths. They have a wolf that can sniff you out pretty good, making stealth a bit of a challenge here, but it is still possible as long as you kill the wolf pretty quickly. Try not to use the bow here for stealth, but rather melee takedowns, which are just easier to execute in this encampment.

Killing all the hunters here will satisfy the mission requirements.

==========
REBEL YELL (SABAL MISSION)
==========
In the Rebel Yell mission, you first have to set up defenses around the perimeter. Lay some mines on the ground and then use the turret to fight off the attacking enemies. Successfully defending the area will then prompt Sabal to ask you to check out another camp that wasn’t so lucky.

Go to that camp to find it overrun with Hunters. Kill all of the hunters here to complete the mission.

===================
A CULTURAL EXCHANGE
===================
Visit the monastery to speak with Raju. Doing this campaign mission will also net you some Karma, which is good for unlocking stuff as well, by the way. Karma has its own section of the guide, so visit that area for more info on how that gameplay mechanic works.

In any case, what you need to do is just walk around the temple and interact with the objects as instructed by Raju. Return to Raju when you’re done, and then a message about the Royal Army attacking the place will reach you. Oh snap!

It’s another defense mission. If you went with Sabal for the previous mission, then you should have some experience at this. Good thing that the outside of this shrine has tons of ammo for you to use, so collect some ammo while you wait for the Royal Army to show up. They will come down both the roads that lead to the monastery.

I recommend putting mines on the right that is to the right of the shrine and then C4 on the road to the left. The trucks coming from the right will be blown up by the mines and then you can manually detonate the C4 on the enemies that come from the left to blow them up and wipe out most of them.

The enemies will have three targets. They will attempt to destroy a religious statue, they will attempt to blow up the door to the monastery, and they will attempt to blow up the weapon cache. Each time an enemy starts setting up an explosive in one of these areas, a timer will start counting down. You have to stop them and kill them before the timer reaches zero or else you will fail the mission automatically.

A helicopter will drop off even more enemies. If you have one, use an RPG to shoot it out of the sky. Otherwise just attack the enemies in any fashion. When all the enemies have been killed, it is mission complete.

===================
SERMON ON THE MOUNT
===================
Longinus has a mission for you. Go speak with him in his hut, and then head outside. Talk with the man out here next to the yak to go to the Himalayas!

The Himalayas are frozen over and there is snow everywhere. The blizzard conditions make it difficult for your enemies to see you. This means that you are able to sneak up on them much easier and kill them.

Your first goal is to obtain an oxygen mask. This is easy enough. Just go to an enemy, kill them, and then search their body to obtain the mask. To refill your oxygen, just walk over dead enemies or you can also collect red canisters that you will find lying around. Due to the altitude, having an oxygen mask is a necessity for you to survive in these mountains.

Steal a snowmobile and use it to ride down to the location of the helicopter crash. Equip your GPS, which, when in the highlighted searching areas for this mission, will be your forced secondary “weapon”. However, you can still swap between your actual secondary weapon and your primary weapon if you’d like. To do this, equip your weapon, bring up the weapon wheel, and switch between them in that fashion.

Anyway, loot the dead body near the helicopter to find an empty shipment box. Three objective markers will pop up on your map. I am pretty sure you have to go to each one, and whatever one you loot last will be the one that has the correct shipment box, so let’s head to the one that is on the “right”. Here you will find a group of enemies that are easily killed with a well-placed grenade. Loot them to find cash as well as another empty shipment box.

Now head to the objective marker in the center. This leads you into a dark cave that has a bear in it. Kill the bear and continue moving through the cave to find another body to loot. If you have the GPS equipped, it will start flashing green when pointing in the right direction of the bodies you need to loot, so keep that in mind if you are getting lost.

After looting the second body, keep moving through the cave system and start climbing up to reach the third objective marker. A black eagle will attack you as well as a snow leopard. Kill the snow leopard first, then either ignore the eagle or kill it.

Continue going up until you reach the final body. Search it to get the shipment. Now backtrack using the rappel points to return to your guide so that you can leave these mountains and reunite with Longinus.

===========
RECLAMATION (AMITA MISSION)
===========
Head to the Poppy Fields. Kill everyone there, and the guard dogs as well, and wait for reinforcements to arrive. Once they do, move with them to each field. The enemies will try to light the fields on fire, and if they do so, you will be notified.

To stop a poppy field from burning down, rush to the sprinkler system and turn it on. The generators that operate the sprinklers are marked with lightning bolt icons on the map. Go to them and switch them on, which will in turn activate the sprinkler system, and after that the fire will be put out.

Use whatever means necessary to kill the enemies, as they come with extreme force. However, be careful about using explosives as if you kill any allies around you, that will lower your karma level.

With the poppy fields safe, the mission is complete.

To Top

============
BURN IT DOWN (SABAL MISSION)
============
Sabal’s mission is the exact opposite of Amita’s mission. Sabal’s mission asks for you to burn down the poppy fields. Upon arriving, destroy the sprinkler system generators, and then kill all of the enemies there.

Save the heroin and then use the mortars to destroy the fields and kill all the enemies that show up to try to stop you.

================
MOUTH OF MADNESS
================
Upon actually starting this mission (I recommend using a helicopter to get to the start point), you will be thrown into an arena taking on waves of enemies that will come at you in rounds.

Silently kill the first enemy, get his gun, and then go to town on the rest of the enemies. Round after round, be sure to run to the dead bodies that you are piling up to restock on ammo and healing supplies.

The final round will feature a “heavy” type enemy. Lure him to the explosive barrels around the arena and shoot the barrels when he is near to cause them to explode, in turn dealing major damage to him. Grenades are also very effective when it comes to wearing down his health.

Completing the final round finishes this portion of the arena, which is enough for you to check this mission off as completed.

===================
THE SLEEPING SAINTS
===================
Arrive at the base of the statue. Then throw a grenade at the door to destroy it and allow yourself passage. Fight your way to the top where the detonator is. Kill the man that has the detonation trigger, then hold your ground and kill any enemy stragglers.

Stay at the top position as the enemies come in. Leaning against one of the crates here is a sniper rifle. Use it to pick off the enemies. Do not use the RPG that is up here just yet. Just keep to the sniper rifle to pick off the enemies, but swap to your sidearm if they get too close and manage to reach your perch.

Ignore the first helicopter that shows up as it will just drop off enemies and leave. The second helicopter that comes, however, you need to deal with using the RPG. A sniper-equipped enemy will try to flank you from the left, so when you see his laser, immediately turn your attention to him and kill him as well. Hold off the enemies using the sniper, but keep track of where you’ve left the RPG.

Finally, you will have a new objective. Get the RPG and follow the objective markers up the cliffside. A large rock jutting out of the cliff will be visible. Blast it with the RPG to make the rock fall down and destory the enemies on the road below. This objective will only be if you’ve done mostly Amita missions so far.

If you’ve done mostly Sabal missions so far, you will instead have to light the torches on the statue as opposed to destroying the path that leads up to the statues themselves.

==================
ADVANCED CHEMISTRY (AMITA MISSION)
==================
If you choose to go Amita’s route, then you will have to do the mission called Advanced Chemistry, which is definitely one of my favorite missions in the entirety of the game. Before doing this mission, you are going to want to bring with you a shotgun as your primary weapon and you will also want the Elephant Rider skill.

Go to the designated hideout, then make your way to the rebel leader that is standing on a cliff overlooking the laboratory. You just have to stand with her for a second before you can go ahead and work at taking over the lab.

There is an elephant near the laboratory, so hop on him. While riding an elephant, you are more or less unstoppable. Use the elephant to rampage all around the lab until the enemies are killed. You will then be pointed out the three generator locations, if you haven’t already hopped off the elephant and have been turning them off as you go.

With the three generators shut down, the door to the inside of the lab will open. Stay on the elephant and go to the door. A couple of enemies will come out, so knock them away. Then hop down and enter the lab proper. Shoot the enemies in here with your shotgun and they will disappear in a cool cloud of colorful smoke. Ahh. Neato.

Fight your way to the chemist’s room. Kill him when you reach him, ignoring the green cursor that shows up when you point at him. Then keep killing the, uh, rest of the chemists that pop up.

Finally, the door will open and you will be allowed to leave. However, the halls you had just moved through are now filled with a bunch of chemists! Good thing you are equipped with constantly changing weapons, eh? You will get to use weapons like the flamethrower and grenade launcher to fight your way out of the lab. When you get outside, the mission is complete. I recommend hopping back on your elephant buddy and riding away into the sunset…of the next mission, of course.

===============
BASIC CHEMISTRY (SABAL MISSION)
===============
Sabal’s mission at this point is infinitely less interesting than Amita’s. For Sabal’s mission, the beginning is the same. You go talk to a couple of rebel leaders, and then they give you your orders for taking out the laboratory.

Instead of going inside and killing the chemist, your job is to destroy the support cables around the building. Get on an elephant and use it to clear the compound (you will need the Elephant Rider skill in order to do this).

When the cables are destroyed, blow up the chimeny thing to get inside to the next area. Kill the enemies in here and lay down the explosives. Exit the lab and then detonate it once you are a safe distance away and enjoy the fireworks!

===================
SHOOT THE MESSENGER
===================
Noore is the next target of the Golden Path. Go to the stadium and go to the crowd outside. Unfortunately, the crowd is too thick and the doors are shut, so the arena is inaccessible from this way.

Point the camera up to spot some grappling hook points. Use the grappling hook to get to an air duct fan. Remove it and then crawl through the opening. Quietly make your way to the control room, where you will find two enemies. Kill them both and then access the control panel.

There are seven enemies in the arena right now. Create chaos by getting them all killed by animals. The animals can be released using the controls in front of you. When all the enemies are dead, fight your way to Noore by killing the guards in the halls.

Upon getting to Noore, Ajay will aim his pistol at the back of her head. You need to make the choice at that very moment whether or not you want to kill Noore yourself. If you want to kill her, pull the right trigger. If you want to just confront her and see what happens, then don’t press anything and let the scene play out by itself.

=======================
THE PROTECTOR’S ARRIVAL
=======================
Visit Yogi and Reggie again to start this next mission. Once you get the instructions from them, visit the temple. Outside will be hunters to deal with, but they are easy to dispatch.

Move into the temple and you can use the grappling hook to descend to the pool of water below. Swim to the surface after detaching from your rope, and climb up to the small piece of rock sticking out of the water. From here, use your grappling hook to climb up to the natural formation bridge above you.

In the next room you will find a scroll. Pick up the scroll to enter Shangri-La. As you are told by the hint on the bottom of the screen, fall damage does not exist in Shangri-La, so jump off the cliff that you see as soon as you enter the place.

Follow the path and you will come across a large white tiger with a weapon stuck in its side. Take the knife, the tooth of some large animal, out of the tiger to free it. Then continue moving down the path. An enemy will be visible and upon approaching the enemy, a short scene will play.

When the scene is over, you will have control of the tiger in the sense that you can direct it around. Aim the cursor at an enemy and tap the right bumper to send the tiger after the enemy. You can also sneak up behind enemies and attack them with the knife that was previously used to kill the tiger.

Despite not having any first-aid items, you can still heal yourself while in Shangri-La. Do so in the same manner that you heal yourself when in the “real” world. The tiger has health of its own for you to be aware of, but its health will refill pretty quickly, just make sure it doesn’t get surrounded by multiple enemies and it should be fine.

Your goal here is to spin two giant karma wheels. The wheels are both protected by enemies. Send the tiger in, and then go in yourself and mow down the enemies with melee takedowns. Spin the wheel and then head to the next wheel and repeat the process.

Start making your way to the bell, which is at the top of the large statue that moves after spinning both wheels. There’s a new enemy type introduced here, the Scorchers. They breathe fire and are only vulnerable from the rear. Send the tiger in after them to distract them, then sneak behind them and hit them with a surprise melee attack from behind to kill them.

Make your way to the top of the bell and release the rope here. This will conclude your first visit to Shangri-La in Far Cry 4.

===========
FREE WILLIS
===========
For this mission try to get a sniper rifle as well as throwing knives. You will want to approach the airport from the front entrance. Then take a left through the tall grass. There are vines growing on the cliff wall here. Climb them up and you will see the first sniper in a watchtower very close to here.

Chuck a throwing knife at him to kill him. Then follow the path until to the second sniper. Kill him, then aim your sniper to point out the three that are in plain sight from this position. The large building in the center, the comm building, also has a sniper, though he will sometimes be hidden.

Find some bushes and then just start picking off the snipers with a sniper of your own. Even though the enemies will be aware that they are being attacked, it doesn’t count as the commander being notified unless you are actually found during this whole thing.

With the snipers killed, it’s time to make your way to the vantage point at the comm building. Backtrack to the entrance and take out the guard that is walking around. Look out for any other guards before making your way over to the comm building. Climb to the roof and then your camera will be equipped automatically.

Enemy targets will be marked (the commander is marked yellow). Switch to the sniper and use it to kill the commander and the enemies around them when Willis ducks his head down. Protect Willis as much as you possibly can before you run out of sniper rifle ammo.

When you’re out of ammo, run down to Willis’s location and protect him from there. A few enemies will show up in trucks, but a couple of well-placed grenades will be the end of them. Behind the building where Willis went in is a mortar, which you should be able to see on your mini-map, so make your way to that now, killing any enemies you see along the way.

A helicopter that will drop bombs on the place and has a powerful machinegun will show up. Use the mortar to destroy it. Just a few shots will be enough to do it in. If you get damaged too badly, be sure to back out of mortar and heal before resuming your attempts to destroy the helicopter.

The destruction of the helicopter will cause some reinforcements to arrive. Dispatch of them and then go speak with Willis. Following the scene, rush to the ATV that is parked near the plane that is leaving. Hit the gas and follow the plane off the ramp. Push in the left stick to activate your wingsuit and continue to pursue the plane through the air.

After another scene, you just have to land safely to complete the mission. Guide the wingsuit safely to the ground (you will have to re-activate it after the scene) to complete the mission.

=================
KILL OR BE KILLED
=================
Willis will fly you out to the Himalayas. For this mission, you need to bring with you plenty of firepower and healing items, as this one is a doozy.

Basically, there are three areas that need to be liberated of enemies. Just go there and kill everybody at the first one. One of the enemies will have an objective marker on them, so go to their dead body and whip out the camera. Snap a picture of their dead body. Turns out it’s not the right guy that you need.

Head to the next target and kill everyone here as well. Loot the body with the objective marker to get the key to the gate. The gate leads into a cave that has some enemies equipped with flamethrowers. Kill one and take their flamethrower so that you can use it yourself to clear out the rest of the cave.

Back outside, this third area is incredibly challenging due to the sniper here that will make life hell for you. Because of this, you will want to remain as quiet as possible. Kill the first two guards you see stealthily, then use the bridges to get across the gap. Clamber up and continue moving up the mountain until you near the lieutenant and his men.

Kill all of these guys in any fashion possible. If you get to the rear of the highlighted area, there is a mounted turret gun that you can utilize to make this job easier. Loot the lieutenant once you kill him, and then you will be returned to Kyrat by Willis. You will automatically jump out of the airplane, and so after doing so, click in the left stick to initiate the wingsuit and use it to get back down to the ground safely.

================
DEATH FROM ABOVE
================
Return to Willis and again let him fly you out to the Himalayas. Once here, you will need to deploy your wingsuit to reach the next area. Go up the hill and then hug the left side of the area to avoid the enemies. As you go, kill the enemies with throwing knives to take them down quietly. The blizzard here doesn’t make hiding the bodies much of a necessity. Be sure to collect the knives you’ve thrown by moving over the dead bodies you created with them.

Whip out your camera and use it to mark targets. This way you will find the target that you need. Kill him with a throwing knife as well (a melee takedown also works, but throwing knife is easier) and then go over to his body and snap a picture.

Afterwards, sprint off to the edge of the cliff. Jump off into the canyon and then deploy the wingsuit. Avoid smashing into the rock walls and just keep pushing forward through the canyon.

DON’T LOOK DOWN
===============
Follow the black smoke. It will lead you to a cave system of sorts where you will find a single enemy that will chase you around. This guy is easily avoided if you just sprint, plus you can heal if he attacks you.

Your goal here is to build a grappling hook. The “hook” part of the equation is found sticking in the back of some guy on an altar. Take it and then follow the smoke back to your cell. You will then go through another door and you will be led to a guy that is strung up with ropes and wooden planks. Cut the rope down and then Ajay will automatically collect it.

Return to the original prison area. Grapple down the mountain and keep going down until you reach the prison camp. Head to the left and you will find oil drums with throwing knives on top of them. Collect the throwing knives and use them to kill an enemy and take his gun.

Continue and try to progress as far as you possibly can without attracting any attention. You will definitely need a weapon with some ammo in it when you get to the final stretch of this, so try to conserve ammo as much as possible.

At the end of the prison camp is a door that is sealed shut with a padlock. Shoot the padlock and move through the door. Sprint down the slope to safety.

A KEY TO THE NORTH
==================
Go to the ambush point in a car. Wait for the fuel truck to drive by, and then chase it down. When it parks, kill everyone around, but be sure not to damage the truck too badly.

Get in the truck when the coast is clear and drive away. Be careful when driving the truck as it has a health meter, which you can see at the top of the screen.

The enemies will try to sabotage you by attacking you and by blowing up parts of the mountain to cloud your vision in an attempt to make you fall off the side of the cliff. When this happens, slow down considerably so that you can avoid falling off and dying.

When you reach the King’s Bridge, build up as much speed as possible. Leap out of the vehicle when the prompt shows up, and the force should be enough to cause the truck to explode on impact when hitting the gate. If it’s not enough, destroy the truck manually while it is near the gate.

Now just go around and kill everyone in the compound. When they’re all dead, drop some mines on the main road of the compound and pick a building to hide in. Reinforcements will come in on trucks, and the mines should wipe out most of them. Use C4 on any remaining enemy vehicles.

When all these enemies have been taken care of, report to the Golden Path member that you are to meet with on the bridge.

TRUTH & JUSTICE
===============
Upon reaching the rebel hideout, watch the cut-scene. When the scene is over, sprint to the buzzer. Chase the truck with Pagan Min inside of it and shoot the truck with your secondary weapon until Pagan Min is dead.

To Top

=======
PAYBACK
=======
Use a buzzer to get close to the gold mine. When you can’t go up any higher, ditch the buzzer and walk the rest of the way. Check the scrolls inside of the gold mine to initiate a cut-scene.

When the scene is over, you’ll be in another trippy drug-induced place. Just move forward through it all until you are given a bow. Use the bow to kill the enemies in the area. The pots with the flames coming out of them can be shot to create explosions, so keep that in mind.

To get through the gates, shoot the pots behind them. This will lead you into a large cavern-like area. Utilize the grappling hook to get through this place and then you will be in a temple-like area.

This is a boss fight. The boss will teleport around and attempt to fling arrows at you from afar. Nail him with an arrow to make him crouch to the ground. Then run up to him and click in the right stick to perform a “takedown” on him.

During the second phase of this fight, hunters will be added to the mix as well as a couple of tigers. Kill them and then attack the boss again, running up and hitting him with a melee attack. Do this a total of three times and he will be killed.

============
CULTURE WARS (AMITA MISSION)
============
If you accept Amita’s version of the mission, make your way to the temple. Swim up to the side of it, where there is a lone enemy near the dock. Take him out silently, and then go topside. Make sure the boat that is moving around the temple doesn’t see you, and move forward.

Guarding the entrance to the temple is a flamethrower enemy. Throw a rock to distract him and then go down the stairs. There are numerous enemies down here, and while they are all grouped together, the best bet is to toss a grenade at their feet. This will put the enemies above ground on high alert, but no one will go after any alarms because they haven’t seen you.

Once the enemies in the basement of the temple are dead, continue to find another enemy down here as well as an ammo crate. Kill the enemy and make your way to the gate where your allies are. Let them through to retrieve the explosives (use the button on the wall), and then return topside.

Distract the flamethrower enemy again and lay the first bomb. Then go up the steps. Kill any enemies you encounter as well as any on the roof. Climb out the window and place the second explosive.

With the explosives placed, make a run for the boat. Get on the gunner position and then as you are whisked away, shoot the enemy boats and helicopters that come after you. There are also trucks on the shoreline that can pose a threat as well.

When the boat reaches the shore, it’s mission complete.

================
CEASE AND DESIST (SABAL MISSION)
================
Sabal’s missions is similar to Amita’s in the beginning. You go to the temple at first and will want to stick to it stealthily as I’ve described in Amita’s version of this mission.

The difference is you don’t want the temple to blow up. Other people will lay the bombs, and then you ahve to deactivate the explosives in order to keep the temple safe.

Then you have a horde-like situation on your hands. Use the turrets that are on the temple to defend the area from the incoming helicopters and enemies. Keep doing this until the enemies stop coming.

===================
THE VALLEY OF DEATH (AMITA MISSION)
===================
Go to the town and start killing everyone. Once everybody is dead, use the rocket turret, which is pointed out to you, to defend the area from the incoming trucks and helicopters.

That’s pretty much it. This is just a long combat mission. This mission will start immediately after you’ve completed the previous Amita mission.

To Top

==========
TAKE COVER (SABAL MISSION)
==========
If you decided to go the Sabal route, then this mission is the exact opposite of the Valley of Death mission. Instead of attacking the town and killing everybody there, you instead have to defend the area from incoming waves of enemies.

There will also be mortar strikes, so when a mortar strike is incoming, go into a building and take cover until the smoke clears. Then rush back outside and continue to defend the place from incoming enemies.

====================
TO REAP WHAT YOU SOW
====================
This mission is different depending on you have been siding with throughout the game. If you have been siding with Amita, then all you do is go to the house and then you get the choice of killing Sabal or letting him live.

If you have been siding with Sabal, then you have to kill the people protecting Amita first, and then make the decision as to whether or not she should be saved or killed.

ASHES TO ASHES
==============
Meet with the Golden Path soldiers, then head to the fortress. There are three areas here that are highlighted. Stay within these highlighted areas and kill enemies to capture each point.

Move forward to the courtyard area. A wooden gate will block the way, so blow it up using the grenade turret that is attached to the nearby truck. Once through, continue pushing forward and killing enemies. Look for an RPG (there should be some lying around, and a few of your allies will definitely have some) and use it to destroy the helicopter here.

Mount the turret and fight off the new wave of enemies that come pouring into the place. When they’re dead, your next goal is to destroy the Pagan Min statue. There is some C4 right near it in case you need some. Toss the C4 near the feet of the statue and blow it up once you are a safe distance away to bring the big golden bastard down.

THE KING IS DEAD
================
There are now two different possible endings to the game. First you need to reach Pagan Min, so hop in the designated vehicle and drive to him. There will be no more enemies to contend with.

Now you have the choice of either killing Pagan Min or not doing anything and letting him win. It is recommended that you go with the latter option if you want to get the most of the game.

3. Shangri-La
- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - -
Your first visit to the strange realm of Shangri-La occurs during the game’s main story. However, you will make four other visits there in order to complete your Shangri-La journey.

============
THE RHAKASHA
============
At the very start of this mission, you will see a body suspended in the air with a bow floating above it. Interact with this body to get the bow as a weapon. This makes blowing through Shangri-La significantly quicker as you no longer need to rely on the tiger and melee attacks.

It’s just a straight-forward journey in Shangri-La. The objective markers will lead the way and you pretty much just redo what you did in your first visit there in the campaign. The same types of enemies will be encountered, but your bow makes it much easier to deal with them.

=========================
THE SURRENDER TO PARADISE
=========================
Upon returning to Shangri-La, you will find an upgrade to your bow. Collect the upgrade and your bow will now be able to fire four arrows at once. If you just tap the right trigger, then the arrows will be shot as a spread. If you hold in the right trigger, then the four arrows will be focused.

The implications of this new ability are obvious. When it comes to the bigger flame-spewing enemies, you can nail them with four focused arrow shots head-on to make them kneel. Then simply go up behind them and push in the right stick to melee them and kill them. The previous method of sicking your tiger on them will work as well.

This visit to Shangri-La is different than before in that you have to use these wind spires to get around. Step into the wind spires and you will be launched into the air and then have to fly safely through the canyon. When you reach the next spot you have to drop down, tap the A button to land immediately. The mechanics are very similar to using the wingsuit in that regard, because if you use the A button when using the wingsuit, you will deploy the parachute.

The objective here is the same as before. Spin the mani wheels, and then you have to go to the bell of enlightenment and free it from its chains by interacting with the main chain.

======================
THE PARADISE DESTROYED
======================
This trip to Shangri-La is a bit faster-paced than the previous ones. You will first come across an elephant being attacked by enemies. Save the elephant by first killing the enemies and then interacting with the elephant.

Afterwards, you will have the ability to ride the elephant, so it is like a second helper animal in Shangri-La now. Use the elephant to smash through the fallen over tree trunks blocking the path to the mani wheels. You will then have to get off the elephant, fight your way to each mani wheel, spin the damn thing, and then return to the elephant.

Use the elephant to smash through the two gates blocking the way to the bell of enlightenment. Get off the elephant and sprint up the steps. You can ignore most of these enemies. When you reach the bell, hit the enemy that spawns with two shots with your arrows (so eight arrows will be hitting him) and then go to the rear of the enemy and kill him with a melee attack. Now go to the bell and remove the chain on it. You will return to the Ghale Homestead afterwards just like your other visits to Shangri-La.

====================
THE UNPAINTED FUTURE
====================
Boss fight time. You have to do a fight against the giant bird that you have been saying at the end of the previous Shangri-La missions. No more elephant to help you, but you still have the tiger.

The bird has a very simple pattern. In the first phase, it will fly around and scream at you, sometimes raising some demons up to fight you. The demons are super annoying so kill them immediatley. Otherwise keep the cursor aimed at the bird’s beak.

When it opens its beak to scream at you, it will expose its glowing red insides. Tap the right trigger to send four arrows flinging at it. You want the spread shot because a focused shot has too great of a chance of missing the target.

When the shot hits, the bird will take damage. Do this three times to make the bird collapse. Approach the bird, aim at it, and tap the right bumper to send the tiger into its beak.

The bird will start screaming again, so hit it with another shot. Afterwards, the bird will take the skies again. The second phase is pretty much exactly the same as the first phase, but more enemies will be spawned by the bird.

The third and final phase will see the bird start shooting fireballs at you. Avoid the fireballs at all costs as getting set on fire here is a recipe for losing and then being forced to start the fight over from the beginning.

After it shoots the fireballs, it will fly around again and then scream. If it doesn’t, just avoid the fireballs and then return your attention to the bird. Go for the spread shot to do damage to it again. Three hits will take it to the ground, and then you can send the tiger into it for a final time.

4. Yogi & Reggie
- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - -
The two drugged upped idiots that you meet during the main story have a few more trippy…uh, trips, for you to experience if you go talk to them in their tent near the Ghale Homestead.

===============
LOST & CONFUSED
===============
The game world will be changing a bunch of different colors and there are animals EVERYWHERE. I’m talking bears, rhinos, big cats, the works. Just ignore them all and free from them. If you want to take the time to kill them, you can skin them in your drugged-up state and still have the skins when you get back to your normal self.

Go from point to point in search of your stuff. You will encounter just a handful of enemies along the way, but prepared with your gun anyway for when you get to them. There are vehicles scattered throughout the landscape that you can use, but the rough terrain here means that this is more trouble than it is worth and you’re honestly better off just using your feet.

Eventually, you will finally reach your stuff. Collect it.

==================
THE BURNING FOREST
==================
For this Yogie & Reggie quest, you will notice that all of the animals that you encounter are on fire. Just run by them because if you kill them you won’t be able to skin them anyways.

Head to the river. Upon arriving, Yogi & Reggie will disappear like usual. An explosive barrel will be on a nearby rock, so shoot it to make it explode and kill the enemies that appear.

Now just keep following the objective markers until you reach your stuff and collect it.

=================
NAKED & SCREAMING
=================
Swim through the water. When you surface for the first time, there will be a machinegun to collect. Go back in the water and keep swimming until you are able to surface yet again, and this time you will find a jet ski. Don’t worry about drowning because you can’t drown at all during this portion.

On the jet ski, just push forward. Avoid the boats as they will explode and the splash damage can really screw you up. Keep pushing forward until you then reach a shack. Go inside to find the stuff you need to collect.

=================
FLY OR DIE TRYING
=================
This mission begins with you falling through the air. Don’t worry about getting hurt when you land as there is no fall damage right now.

As the final mission, this one is pretty tame and uneventful. You will be led to a shack and then have to get on the roof. There are crates on the side of the shack that you can get on top of and then use to climb up to the roof itself.

This will cause a trippy thing to go down where you are falling down these steps that are segmented and floated in the air. Don’t worry about it and keep going to the objective markers.

Get back on the roof and take the buzzer that materializes. Fly it to the next shack. A tiger will be protecting the stuff here. Either kill it or just run around it. Go inside the back of the shack and get the stuff. You’re now done with the Yogi & Reggie quests and you will receive a fancy new pipe for your troubles!

5. Longinus
- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - -
Weapons dealer Longinus is met during the early stages of the Far Cry 4 campaign. After you meet him, you can engage in a new quest line with him that consists of four missions. This section of the guide is dedicated to getting you through all of the four missions and reaping the rewards that you gain from completing them.

============
A SHORT HUNT
============
Longinus wants you to retrieve a blood diamond for him. Head to the ambush location and sit tight. The smuggler will drive by. Get in the nearby truck and tail him, but don’t get too close.

When the smuggler reaches his destination, kill him. Kill everyone outside of the cave, then loot the smuggler’s body. Go into the cave to find a vault. Unlock the door and kill everyone inside the vault.

Grab the diamond off the table. The enemies will be waiting for you outside of the cave to attack. Kill them and then make your way to the dropoff point. Interact with the box to drop off the diamond.

==========
RECOMPENCE
==========
Again, go to the designated location. Sit tight for the smuggler to go by on his speed boat. If you follow the beach towards the direction of the smuggler, there is a boat there that you can use. Tail him to the location of the vault. Kill everyone, loot the smuggler, and head into the vault.

Kill everyone in here and get the diamond. On your way back out, hang tight as a bunch new enemies will be here. There’s an explosive barrel out here that is placed in a way that if you wait a couple of seconds for the enemies to converge near it, you can kill nearly every single one of them with a single bullet and explosion.

Escape the area on the map that is highlighted in blue. Shove one of the boats back into the water and then use it to reach the shack. Drop the diamond off in the case here.

============
A HIGH PRICE
============
The designated point you are led to now is a cliff with a buzzer on it. Wait for the smuggler to drive by, then hop in the buzzer and follow him from the skies. You don’t have to be as conservative as usual with this tailing section because of your place in the sky.

The smuggler here is heavily armored and he has a lot of help at the shack that he leads you to, so don’t go into this mission without lots of healing syringes, armor, and ammo, the whole works.

Wipe out all the enemies that you encounter, loot the smuggler, and go into the shack. The door to the vault is here. Go down the stairs and enter the vault. LOTS of enemies here, but there are all in a close vicinity. There’s a propane tank down here as well so be careful not to get yourself blown up by that, but eliminate everyone in the room.

Grab the blood diamond. Don’t bother fighting the reinforcements that show up as you can easily just run away from them, get to the buzzer and fly off to the dropoff point. Leave the blood diamond and you’ll only have one more mission left for Longinus.

===============
A FINAL PENANCE
===============
Same sort of thing that you’ve been doing. Chase down the smuggler, kill him, get the loot. You use an ATV to pursue him this time, otherwise it’s just the same song and dance.

The only difference here is at the end. You take the blood diamond straight to Longinus himself instead of taking it to a dropoff box. You can now buy a badass new rocket launcher from the trading posts!

6. Open World
- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - -
Kyrat is the open world in Far Cry 4. It is a mountainous region full of varied animals and plant life, as well as a spattering of enemies and allies.

Unlocking the potential of the open world in Far Cry 4 is accomplished by completing three different activities.

You can do these activities in the online co-op mode as well.

========
OUTPOSTS
========
In total, there are 24 outposts in the game. Outposts are small rebel bases with alarm systems and sometimes caged animals. At these bases, players should try to be stealthy and eliminate the alarms so that the enemies can’t call for backup, and after that, just take out all of the enemies there.

Killing all of the enemies in an outpost will unlock the outpost as a fast-travel spot. You will also unlock new weapons and the like by completing outposts as well.

==========
FORTRESSES
==========
Fortresses are highly fortified outposts. There’s four of them in the game and even though you can technically tackle them whenever you want, it’s best to wait until you’ve completed the story missions before you start trying to knock over all the fortresses.

The reason for that is the fortresses will be considerably weakened due to your actions in the campaign missions. With the fortresses weakened, it is much easier to take them over. Think of them as outposts on steroids, and you have a pretty good idea of what a fortress is in Far Cry 4.

===========
BELL TOWERS
===========
The final piece of the puzzle to the open world of Far Cry 4 is the bell towers. These towers are how you eliminate fog from the map and discover new side activities and get the collectibles on your map as well.

To liberate a bell tower, simply climb to the top of it. At the top you will find some radio jamming equipment, which is what is causing your map to be all screwy in the first place. Destroy the equipment to free the bell tower for your own use.

7. Karma
- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - -
A new mechanic in Far Cry 4 is the Karma system. Ajay Ghale has a Karma level that, if raised, will allow him access to various rewards that can be used to make your life in Kyrat just a little bit easier.

Karma is gained by spinning the wheels throughout the region as well as completing the Karma events that pop up. These Karma events are randomly generated and will appear numerous times throughout your experience in Far Cry 4.

The Karma missions come in a variety of flavors. There are assassination missions, in which you have to kill high-ranking members of Pagin Min’s army that you find.

There’s also hostage missions, where there is at least one hostage about to be executed by guards. You have to act fast by killing the guards and then untying the hostages for bonus karma.

Skirmishes are when Pagin Min’s army is clashing with the Golden Path. Intervene in these battles to ensure a Golden Path victory.

Finally, there’s also a Chase Karma mission. This is when a courier is spotted that is delivering messages for the enemy. Chase them down, kill them, and then loot the intel that they’ve been carrying on them to complete that Karma mission type.

There is one achievement that is attached to Karma. You just have to reach Karma level 2, and then after that, purchase one of the Guns for Hire upgrades. As you continue to level up your Karma, the more useful the Guns for Hire will become.

10. Collectibles
- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - -
Far Cry 4 features a variety of collectibles. The collectibles will pop up on your map when you are close to them, and as you liberate the bell towers throughout the region, they will pop up in that manner as well.

Because of this, it would be extremely redundant to walk you through to the exact location of every single collectible in the game. Furthermore, the collectibles don’t even require you to get all of them if you are just interested in getting all of the achievements/trophies that game.

The collectibles come in a variety of flavors. Below you will find a list of collectibles along with how many of them are in the game.

Lost Letters – 20
Mani Wheels – 40
Masks of Yalung – 50
Mohan Ghale’s Journal – 20
Propaganda Posters – 150

Whenever you encounter a collectible in the game, be sure to snag it.

Far Cry 4 has a comprehensive crafting system in place. In Far Cry 4, you can use pelts taken from animals to upgrade the items that you have. Go over to the dead body of an animal and skin them. You can get double the skin if you kill an animal cleanly with a bow as opposed to shooting them with a gun or blowing them up.

Besides syringes that can be crafted, the following equipment can be upgraded and improved through skinning animals and use their skins to craft more powerful equipment:

Ammo Bag
Bait Bag
Explosives Bag
Heavy Ammo Bag
Loot Bag
Quiver
Syringe Kit
Throwables Bag
