Assassin’s Creed: Unity stars a new assassin named Arno living during the time of the French Revolution. Experience this horrific time in history as Arno, following him from his boyhood to his adult life as one of the assassins.

The following control information was taken directly from in-game materials. On Xbox One, you can say “Xbox, Help” to bring up the help screen. From there, simply go to controls to see the controls that are in the game. This guide was created using the Xbox One version of the game, so the Xbox controls are displayed here. There is a digital manual that you can view with the PS4 version of the game, so check out the control info there.

Just like other games in the Assassin’s Creed series, the mission in Assassin’s Creed: Unity are separated based Sequences and Memories. In this guide, I have done the same to make it easier to find which mission that you are needing help with.

SEQUENCE 01

THE TRAGEDY OF JACQUES DE MOLAY
===============================

Consider this a prologue mission. In it, you control a Templar. Follow de Molay through the battlefield. When given the new objective to reach the temple and stop the assassin, you can choose to engage enemies in battle or ignore them. There’s just a spattering of them here and there, so I recommend ignoring them.

Anyway, when you reach the temple, the front doors will not be a viable option. Climb the nearby ladder and go through the window. Move through the room to the other side and climb out the opposite window. From here, start scaling the walls until you reach the next roof. Hop off here and then move into the subsequent room.

The assassin will try to make his escape. Pursue him. Remember that you can freerun by pulling the right trigger. Keep that trigger pulled in as you chase down the assassin, eventually reaching him and engaging him in combat as a result.

During the fight with the assassin, learn some of the basics of fighting. You can parry with B (Xbox)/Circle (PlayStation) to block some of the assassin’s attacks. Lay into him with strikes, and he will eventually try to flee again.

Keep chasing the assassin and the next time you reach him, take him out. After killing him, the prologue has been completed and you are ready to begin the first sequence proper.

MEMORIES OF VERSAILLES

Follow the girl. She will lead you outside to a small courtyard-like area. Go up to the table and steal the apple when prompted. A guard will run over and investigate. Run away. You can hide in one of the booths at any of the corners here, or just stand still behind a hedge until the guard gives up looking for you.

The girl will run into the building. The guard will walk in front of the door. Get close enough to him so that he notices you, then sprint away. Go around the hedge while the guard investigates your last known location. Follow the girl into the building.

Seventeen years later. Start chasing down Hugo. As you are chasing him be sure to vault over/slide under at least five objects along the way. You are being chased during all of this, and there is a challenge not to get tackled, but they are hardly threat.

After vaulting/sliding under at least five objects, it’s time to tackle Hugo. Be careful about trying to tackle him before you’re close enough. A failed tackle results in Arno falling on his face, which makes catching up to Hugo a bit more difficult than it needs to be, and it also results in greatly increasing the chance that Arno will be tackled himself, which in turn would completely ruin one of the challenges.

Once you’ve successfully tackled Hugo, it’s time to hide. Sprint out of the area. When you’re out of the designated area on the map, it’s still not quite smooth sailing. Keep running and hide somewhere. Wait for them to stop following you.

When the coast is clear, you can now make your way to the estate safely.

THE ESTATES GENERAL

When the cut-scene concludes, start scaling the buildings. Use the rooftops to chase down the carriage. When the carriage finally comes to a stop, run over to it. This will trigger another cut-scene. Afterwards, make your way to the tower that Arno pointed out in the scene. Climb to the top of it and synchronize the area.

Hop off the top of the building and into the hay below. This is done a little bit differently than in other AC games. You see, instead of just letting the free-running go all willy nilly, there are now two distinct styles of free-running. You can go “up” and you can go “down”. For descending, hold the right trigger along with the B button, and for climbing up things, use the right trigger along with the A button. No need to tap the A or B buttons, just hold every button simultaneously to accomplish this.

Go over to the large crowd. You can use Eagle Vision to have the guards in the area highlighted, though it is pretty obvious who they are. Anyway, just casually push your way through the big crowd in the front. Facing the building, take a right and duck behind the hedges there. Keep going this way, towards the building, and you will be able to loot one of the collectible chests in the area. Do this and then enter the building proper.

No need to sneak anymore for now. Head to the lower quarter here and you will find a large assembly going on. When you go downstairs, rejoin the large crowd to use it as cover. Move through the crowd and make your way towards the front, with Eagle Vision on.

De La Serre will be pointed out eventually. After spotting him, it’s time to make your way backstage. Head up the stairs opposite of the ones that you came down, and then move to the back here to enter the backstage area. Following the cut-scene, you will be thrust into another combat situation.

The goal here is to defend yourself, so you should do so by practicing your dodge and parry moves. You need to do at least two parries and two dodges to get 100% for this memory. When those challenges are out of the way, lay into your attackers with attacks (while continuing to dodge and parry their attacks) until Arno hops out the window.

The mission is not over yet. Run out of the area to escape. The guards will be firing guns at you, so try to weave around and stick to the larger groups of people to avoid being hit and taking damage. When you get out of the highlighted area, hide until the guards are done searching for you.

HIGH SOCIETY

Go up the stairs to De La Serre’s office. If you haven’t done so already, loot the chest in the hall here. Might as well get some extra cash. When you’re done with that, go to his closed office door and slip the letter underneath of it.

With the letter “delivered”, head to Elise’s party. Climb up the wall and shimmy over to the open window. Climb inside, and now you’ll be taught a lesson in the stealth mechanics of Assassin’s Creed: Unity. Yes, this game actually has a dedicated stealth button. Use the left trigger to go into stealth mode, which will make Arno move more quietly.

It’s a simple game of watching the guards and when they’re not looking, heading into the next room. You can use the various objects for cover as well, and the game will walk you through all of that. When you do finally find Elise in the room where everyone is dancing, begin following her, just like you did when they were children.

Following a scene with Elise, it’s time to escape the palace. Drop down to the bottom floor. There will be two guards in the first room. Wait for one to go through the doors, then follow him. Again, go room to room, watching the movement of the guards, and when the coast is clear, make your move to the next room. Eventually, this will lead you outside.

SEQUENCE 02

IMPRISONED

You can walk around the jail cell and examine anything that is glowing. To progress the story, go to sleep on the matress here. After the scene, you will be in combat with the “thief”.

New combat mechanics are taught at this juncture. For example, you are taught about the perfect parry. To perform a perfect parry, hit the parry button when your opponent’s health meter flashes yellow.

Do the perfect parries and lay into the thief with a quick string of attacks after the parry. Keep at it until he’s been bested in combat, resulting in another cut-scene. Activate Eagle Vision when you’re told, and you will get yet ANOTHER scene.

After that scene, hide behind the wall. Remember to take cover pull the left trigger and then tap the A button. Wait for the guards to walk into the room, and then exit the cover. Walk up behind the closest guard and take him out by holding the B button.

Exit the cell and rush to the next gate. It will be locked and you will be pursued by enemies. Tap the right bumper to throw a smoke bomb on the ground, which will count for the first smoke bomb evasion. Kill one of the two guards chasing you, then engage the other in combat as well, but do not kill him. Instead, let him attack you so you can farm the perfect parries that you need for the other challenge. Then kill him.

Killing that second guard will cause a new wave of them to rush your location. You can now get the second smoke bomb evasion out of the way, and then fight them off. When the gate is open, flee and hop out the window. Toss another smoke bomb to make sure the guards won’t shoot at you, and keep moving until you reach a set of five guards with guns.

Before you can continue, you have to kill all five of these guys. Toss another smoke bomb on the ground and rush them. You should be able to pick them off without too much trouble, plus you’ll have some help. Climb to the top of the roof next and then jump off just like you would off of a viewpoint.

The title of the game will pop up (this far into it? really?) and then you have one more input to do before completing this particular memory. The game will ask you to switch on Eagle Vision again while Arno is looking at the pocket watch. Do this as instructed and then rate the memory as you wish before heading on to the next one in line.

REBIRTH
=======

No challenges in this mission. Make your way to the church. I recommend hitting up the viewpoints along the way so that you can get more of Paris unlocked on your map. It is at this point in the game when you can access co-op as well as explore Paris completely, so might as well.

Anyway, upon entering the church, turn around and face the window where the sunbeam is coming through. Climb up here to find a strange device. Interact with the device to initiate a countdown sequence. The game wants you to use the chandeliers to get across to the structure on the opposite end of the room, but there’s a much easier and faster way to go about this.

Drop down to the floor and rush over to the structure. On the side of it, you can actually climb up to the point where it wants you to stand. Do this and while standing on the perch, the floor will open up beneath you. Do your dive to fall through the hole. Upon falling through, you will meet back up with Bellec.

Follow Bellec to the other assassins. There is a goblet here that you are to drink out of, so walk forward and do that. This triggers a trippy sequence. Jump off the perch for the part with the paintings, then use the platforms to survive the next sequence.

The next thing you will have to do is slide down a slope. Hold the right trigger along with the B button to do this. Avoid the geysers of fire that pop up as you slide down this. Stick to the right hand side mostly to avoid taking damage during this part.

Keep using the platforms and avoiding the obstacles in the way until finally you find yourself in a different room. This room is filled with shadowy figures. Use Eagle Vision to point out the target in the middle of the room, which is an assassin.

Move quietly through the crowd to get behind the assassin. If you make too much noise, the assassin will find you and kill you. So you need to get behind him quietly by holding in the left trigger as you move through the crowd. Then when he’s not looking, move towards him and perform an assassination move.

SEQUENCE 03

GRADUATION

Arno has now been in assassin training for a whole year. This means that you now have access to new abilities that you can purchase using synch points. Check out the “skills” section of the guide for more information on all of that.

In the meantime, the next mission begins with a bit of a test. There are three guards and one alarm bell. Your goal is to kill the guards and sabotage the alarm bell. There is an added challenge here for you to kill all three guards with a cover kill.

Now, a cover kill doesn’t even have to be stealthy. Simply get into cover and then assassinate each enemy as they run by you, if they’ve seen you. If they haven’t, then it’s easy enough to in cover, stab them quietly, and then move on to the next one.

The bell, in the meantime, can be sabotaged at any point during all of this. Once the bell and all of that has been taken care of, kill the thug that appears when the subsequent cut-scene is over. Loot the dead body on the ground for the evidence that you need, and now follow Bellec.

Stay very close to Bellec as one of the challenges is to keep up with him. He will move quickly and through windows, on roofs, and all that good stuff, so keep up with him as cloase as you possibly can. Whenever enemies get on your tail, toss a smoke bomb on the ground in order to distract them and allow you to keep moving without having to worry about being shot off a ledge or anything like that.

You’ll come to a point where there are two guards blocking the way with their backs to you. Wait for Bellec to kill the first one, and then kill the second one just as he did. Continue moving with him and he will then lead you to the opening to the Assassin Headquarters.

Enter the headquarters. There is a shopkeep here that you can utilize to upgrade skills and purchase consumables. I will recommend that you should always try to keep a maximum amount of medicine and a maximum amount of smoke bombs handy as they are two of the most useful items that are in the game.

Anyway, go up the steps in the next room to join the council for their meeting.

CONFESSION
==========

This mission is a classic assassination mission. If you played the first Assassin’s Creed game, then you have an idea of what to expect here. Your goal is to figure out different ways that you can kill the target, and there really is a ton. However, I will explain to you the strategy that the game wants you to use.

There are two side objectives here. One of them will get you the keys to the building, and the other will give you the info you need to do a confessional assassination. Go to both. Kill the people there, loot their bodies, and then head to the front of the cathedral.

Toss a smoke bomb at the people guarding the door so that they don’t find you. Then sprint through the door yourself and sneak to the confessional booth. Hop inside and wait for Sivert to get in the booth next to you. During the cut-scene that follows, the assassination button will pop up on the screen. Press the button to complete the assassination.

Now you will have a couple more objectives. The first is to make sure no alarms are triggered. Use the Eagle Vision to find the alarm in the cathedral. Go to it and sabotage it. Now the other challenge is to get two kills from hiding spots. The assassination on Sivert will count as one, but getting the other one is tricky.

The reason for that is the guards around here tend not to walk by the booths or the barrels of hay. You have to somewhat bait them to a hiding spot and then get the kill. It’s a pain in the ass, but it’s the only viable option to complete the challenge.

Make your way out the front doors and split to complete the mission. If you have the guards after you, they will shut the front doors so you will need to climb out of the windows to escape. Become anonymous after getting far enough away to proceed.

SERVER BRIDGE: FIN DE SIECLE
============================
Difficulty: 1/5
Players: 1

In this trippy sequence, climb up to the roof of a building near the portal. Then jump from the roof through the portal. This will take you to 1898 France.

Make your way to the subway station. Go down the stairs. Let the train pass. Climb up the ladder and continue through the tunnels here. It’s all straight forward for now, but when you’re outside again, you’ll have to deal with what appears to be a tornado near the Statue of Liberty.

Avoid the debris that is flying around from the winds. Take cover behind objects as you push towards the Statue of Liberty. Once you start scaling the scaffolding around the statue, you no longer have to worry about being hit by any flying objects or anything like that.

Reach the top of the statue to jump through the next portal to take Arno back home.

SEQUENCE 04

THE KINGDOM OF BEGGARS
======================
Difficulty: 2/5

o 2 phantom blade kills
o 2 cherry bomb lures

Before you start this mission, return to the council of assassins to get the phantom blade weapon.

When that’s over with, head to the Cour de Miracles. Switch on Eagle Vision to spot the enemy outlined in gold. This is your target. Reach him for a cut-scene and afterwards, start to tail him.

As long as you keep the camera aimed on him, the countdown for mission failure will not begin. Use the countdown as a bit of lee-way while you try to get through the streets without being seen. Use the Phantom Blade to kill at least a couple of enemies during this segment to satisfy one of the bonus objective requirements.

Continue tailing your target. His footsteps will be highlighted blue on the ground as he leaves, so that is also helpful in keeping track of him. When he reaches his destination, there will be two guards at the gate blocking your path, and a new bonus objective involving cherry bombs will pop up.

You can complete that bonus objective immediately simply by tossing cherry bombs near the guards at the gate to distract them. Then use the tree to get over the gate yourself. Keep using cherry bombs here as they provide wonderful ways to distract the guards, and all the guards here are equipped with very deadly firearms.

Switch on Eagle Vision to spot the target in the building that he’s hiding out in. Go to that building now. Silently assassinate the man on the balcony, then the enemy inside the first room. Sneak (hold the left trigger) down the stairs, ignoring the guy that is operating on the dude on the table. Enter the room of your target for a scene.

Now you just have to make your escape. Get the hell out of there and become anonymous.

LE ROI EST MORT
===============
Difficulty: 3/5

Le Roi is your new target. Killing him will complete the fourth sequence in the game. Like the classic assassination mission a few missions back, there are a two bonus objectives that you can complete to make this much easier. The challenges for this mission are also fairly easy to complete, just make sure you go into it with the maximum amount of phantom blades that you can carry.

Make your way to the starting area. Once here, you will see two of the bonus objective markers pop up on your map. The first one is to sabotage the chimney system in the sewers. Do this now by going to both chimneys and covering them up. You may also want to kill the enemies here silently, but don’t waste your phantom blade kills.

Next you will want to rouse up a riot. To do this, help the beggars. Kill the people screwing with them (also be sure to get three air assassinations in at this point, before you enter the sewers). By helping the beggars, you will make sure there are far less enemies in the sewer system for you to deal with.

Upon entering the sewers, there will be three enemies in the first area. Two are very powerful enemies, so they should be assassinated from behind. Get rid of the third, weaker guy, and then enter the tunnels proper by moving the wooden board on the ground.

Inside the actual tunnels, there should be hardly any opposition between you and your target if you helped the beggars, which you should have done as it makes this sequence much easier. Kill anyone that gets in your way and just follow the tunnels. They are a linear, straight path so there’s no surprises or anything to worry about.

After the cut-scene plays, continue through the next tunnel. Again, kill anyone that gets in your way. Enter the room where your target was and approach the spot he was in for a surprise.

Immediately bolt for his location on the upper area. Toss a smoke bomb if needed and climb up the side of it. Engage him in open combat and assassinate him. Now you just need to escape, so jump down and head there now. During your escape, the smoke from the chimneys will be clouding up the vision of the enemies in the sewers, making them almost a non-factor. Even still, use your phantom blade to complete the second challenge. Get at least three kills with it before exiting the tunnels and leaving the sewers behind.

THE SILVERSMITH
===============

Berserks are the big enemies. So before doing this mission, stop at a shop to refill your berserker blades so that you can complete the challenge. If you don’t have the ability to pick locks before doing this mission, you should do some other stuff in the game first to earn enough upgrade points so that you can purchase the lockpicking ability.

Upon entering the building, switch on Eagle vision to have Germain pointed out to you. Before going after him, you might want to walk around the building and pick four locks. When you reach Germain, a cut-scene will play.

When the scene is over, a bunch of enemies will be marked with targets. These are the thugs that you must kill. Kill them in any manner you wish. Then return to Germain to find some even more thugs. Engage them in open combat and kill them.

LA HALLE AUX BLES
=================

Just get the three pistol kills out of the way immediately. Walk around the exterior of the place you are supposed to be investigating, kill three of the enemies, and then enter the building proper.

Stick as close to the ceiling as possible to avoid being seen by the guards. When you get into the highlighted area on the mini-map, an actual main objective (green) marker will pop up. Go to it to initiate another cut-scene.

When that scene is over, start sprinting out of the area. Slide through the small gap in the bottom of the wall. The path is fairly linear and you should be able toc omplete the second challenge without even trying just by trying to get out of the place safely.

Once you’ve successfully escaped the area by getting out of the building, the mission will be complete.

THE PROPHET
===========
o sabotage four alarms
o get 3 cover kills

Upon entering this place, the main objective will be to hide in a haystack. Don’t do that yet as it will fast-forward the game to night time and start you on the second half of the mission. First you will want to go around and sabotage all four alarm bells, which is a challenge anyway, and it will make the second half of the mission a lot easier.

Then you will want to complete the bonus objectives to make the actual assassination attempt go smoother. First you will need to secure the security plans, so do that. Then defend the gravediggers from the enemies and you will have their assistance on your side as well.

With all of that stuff checked off your to-do list, hide in some hay. Then when the scene is over, cover kill three enemies so that you are done with all the challenges in the mission.

Lafreniere himself will be walking around the area all over the place, not even well-guarded. Just wait for him to wind up in an area that has no guards (or eliminate the guards), and then sneak up behind him and assassinate him for a quick, clean kill.

Simply escape the area and get (or remain) anonymous to complete the mission.

SEQUENCE 06

THE JACOBIN CLUB
================

Return to the council. They will give you a cut-scene and your next mission. Then go to the hotel. Attempt to get the two challenges completed during this stretch. Then enter the building itself and stand on a chandelier. Walking below you will be your target.

Next tail your target. Just like the previous “tail your target” mission, your as long as you have the camera pointed at them in some capacity, the countdown timer to mission fail will end.

When your target reaches the meeting place, go to the cellar. Reach the next objective marker to initiate another cut-scene. Now simply bail from the area and escape successfully. Having the lockpick skill makes it easier because you can pick the lock in the cellar and escape that way.

TEMPLAR AMBUSH
==============
o get 4 headshot kills
o get 2 double assassinations

The first objective for this mission is to stop the Templar thugs. There is no stealth to this, so while doing this just whip out your pistol and go for the headshtos. Get the four headshots at this point to clear that challenge because after this segment, that challenge is no longer available.

Follow Elise into the hedge maze. Various thugs will attack, so hold them off. Elise has a health meter during all of this, and if she loses all of her health and dies, then the mission si failed. Because of that, you will want to make sure that she doesn’t get ganged up on. As long as she isn’t ganged up on by the Templars, then she pretty much can hold her own.

Now the second challenge of the mission is to get two double assassinations. In order to even do double assassinations, you will need to have purchased the skill to do so from the upgrade screen. Move through the maze and go for any and all double assassinations that you can go for in order to satisfy the requirements of that particular challenge.

Once out of the maze, just walk around and kill all of the searchers. They are pointed out to you directly, so finding them is not a challenge. They are all easily killed as well, considering you can just stealth kill them and be done with it in one quick stroke.

A short scene will play, and afterwards there will be thugs out looking for you. Escape the thugs by leaving the area and hiding until the mission is completed.

Follow Elise. Enter the building with her. Go upstairs after you are told to investigate the place. A cut-scene will play and some thugs will enter the room. Toss stun bombs at them to complete the first challenge, and then kill them.

Following the scene, go outside. Take out the snipers with headshots to satisfy the requirements of the second challenge. There’s a total of five snipers that need killed and you only have to get three headshots, so you can be less conservative with your shots after you’ve gotten the three headshots that are necessary.

MEETING WITH MIRABEAU

Return to the assassin’s council and speak with the master. Head to the apothecary’s place for a scene, then start chasing him through the tunnels. Use your free-running techniques to avoid the obstacles as you pursue him. Pursuing him through the tunnels and the streets after the tunnels is how you will complete both of the challenge for this mission.

The slippery jerk tends to use smoke bombs a lot, so don’t let those get your disoriented. Keep an eye on his objective marker and keep on him. As long as you stick close to him and the camera sees him, you shouldn’t have to worry about losing the target.

When you finally get close enough, tackle the dude to the ground.

CONFRONTATION

Switch on Eagle Vision and follow the golden trail. Climb to the top of the building to meet up with the murderer.

I won’t say who you are fighting at this part in order to avoid spoilers. In any case, complete the first challenge by using staggering strike five times. Staggering strike is an assassin skill that must be purchased as an upgrade, so if you get to this mission and haven’t purchased it yet or simply can’t purchase it yet due to lack of upgrade points, be sure to return to this mission later in the future.

This is a highly cinematic type of fight with a lot of QTEs and scenes as you dig into the dude To avoid getting knocked down, be sure to counter his regular attacks and hit his staggering strike attempts with staggering strike hits of your own, which will effectively cancel the two of you out.

At the end of this fight, assassinate him.

SERVER BRIDGE: THE RESISTANCE
=========================

This is another one of those weird, trippy server bridge missions. This one is set in World War II Paris. The first thing you have to do is exit the sewer, after listening to the little speech of course.

Next start climbing the eiffel tower. You will reach a platform with a machine gun turret attached to the side. Take control of it and use it to shoot down the enemy planes that are attacking. When that’s done, resume your ascent to the top of the eiffel tower.

You will reach a second turret. Use it and once again start shooting the planes out of the sky. Get to the very top of the eiffel tower now and the portal will disappear. Darn. But not to worry–a new portal is opened up for you pretty much right away. Dive off the top of the eiffel tower and right through the portal to complete the bridge.

SEQUENCE 08

THE KING’S CORRESPONDENCE

The meat of this mission is going to be completing the two challenges. You will spend some considerably time sneaking around the place trying to get the alarms all sabotaged and getting the three cover kills that are necessary. I will say that you should definitely have the lockpicking skill at this point because it will make a part near the end a bit easier.

Anyway, once you complete the challenges, just head straight into the palace. You will get to use a lance here to wipe out the enemies. Kill them all and then sneak your way to the king’s office. There are two entrances that lead to the room where the king’s office is located.

One entrance is a wide open door. The other entrance is a locked door. Pick the lock and then kill the brute from behind. Enter the king’s office for a scene. When that scene is over, enemies will flood into the room.

Your objective now is to defend Napoleon from harm. Like other allies that you have had to protect in the past, Napoleon has a health meter that, if depleted, will result in you failing the mission. The lance makes it much easier to defend him though, so use it.

Follow Napoleon through the tunnels after the battle is over and the cut-scene that follows concludes.

SEPTEMBER MASSACRES

Before starting this mission, be sure to RESTOCK your healing supplies, phantom blades, and everything else. This is a tough one, so you are going to want to go into it with as much equipment as possible to make it easier.

Like the other assassination missions before it, this mission has a couple of side objectives to complete that will make the actual act of the assassination much easier. The first one you should to is kill the thugs and save the people from them. This will liberate the guards.

Next you will want to head to the second optional objective. This second optional objective will rid the area of snipers, which makes the assassination go much more smoothly. During all of this, you will want to make sure that you be killing enemies under the terms of the challenges so that you can get 100% synchronization.

Complete the second optional objective by scaling the outside wall of the prison until you reach the flag. Light the flag on fire to then light the snipers on fire. Now simply go to your target and assassinate him. Escape the area afterwards.

STARVING TIMES

Go to the docks. Then start tailing the boat. Avoid touching the water while doing this to complete the first challenge.

After the boat arrives at its destination, you are free to touch the water and still get 100% synchronization. Switch on Eagle Vision to mark the guards in the area and systematically take them out. The challenge for this section of the mission is to not trigger any alarms–you can just disable the alarms in the area so that you don’t have to worry about being seen if you’d like.

Ultimately, the main objective here is to steal the orders from the boat. Snag them real quick and then make your escape.

In this misson, you will have two optional objectives. One of them is an assistance opportunity and the other one is a distraction opportunity. Kill the enemies in the area and loot their bodies to get the assistance opportunity bonus objective complete, which is to loot a key for the prison. You can also lockpick the prison if you’re skills are good enough.

The second bonus objective is to talk with the merchant and purchase the fireworks to use as a distraction.

The first challenge for this mission is fairly unique. It is a challenge to rescue Thomas Levesque (no relation to Triple H). Do this by lockpicking the door that he is being held in.

Either disable the alarms or be very cautious as you sneak your way to Marie Levesque (again, no known relation to Triple H). Assassinate her and then escape like any of the other assassination missions.

THE ESCAPE

Fight off the enemies near the ropes. When the coast is clear, cut a rope. This will trigger more enemies to show up, so fight them off and then cut the second rope. Repeat the process for the third rope.

Follow the balloon using the rooftops so that you don’t touch the ground. A rope hanging off the balloon will get snagged on a roof. Go to where it is stuck and free the rope to release the balloon back into the air. Now you can continue following it.

Reach the perch and leap off into the balloon when prompted.

Unlike the previous assassination missions where the two bonus objectives both help you, this one it is an either-or type of deal. You can choose to poison the wine that the target is going to drink or you can just to just get in through the window and take him on head-on.

This mission is not too hard, just long. You don’t have to do the more difficult way (poisoning the wine) if you don’t want to as there is no challenges for it and it won’t give you 100% synchronization anyways.

Right off the bat, jump off your perch and start moving through the crowd. Kill the two snipers using the phantom blade, and then switch on Eagle Vision.

BOTTOM OF THE BARREL

Before starting this mission, you will want to have poison gas, cherry bombs, and phantom blades all stocked up.

Use the cherry bombs to get the guards away from the door. Lockpick the door (you should seriously have the lockpick). Make your way to the wine and then steal it. Simple.

Next go to the Brasserie. There will be an ambush once you get there. This will in turn trigger a cut-scene. When the cut-scenes are over and you finally have control over Arno again, go into sneak mode. Go into the next room and kill the first guide stealthily.

The thugs will appear on your map, as well as the direction they are looking as long as you look at them with Eagle Vision switched on. Use poison gas to take them out and complete the second challenge. There’s plenty of cover in the area for you to hide behind, so take advantage of that cover as you snake through the hall and kill the enemies with your knife.

As you near the gang leader, kill the people in the courtyard near him. This will make him run up to their dead bodies and freak out. Simply walk up behind the guy and take him out with a stealth kill. Fighting him one on one is pretty hard, so the best course of action is to kill him stealthily.

RISE OF THE ASSASSIN

Another assassination mission. Again you have two bonus objectives that you can complete to make your life easier. You also have two challenges to complete, and they can both be done away with right away, so do them first. Remember that headshots count even if they are done with the phantom blade, so that way you can remain stealthy while also going for the headshots.

The first bonus objective to go after is done by moving through the crowd to a covered-up stand with food. Move the cover and an enemy will approach you. Kill him when he gets near you. This will win you crowd assistance.

The second bonus objective involves stealing a key from an enemy that is by himself in the second floor of a building. Sneak up behind him after climbing through the window, kill him, and then steal the key from him. Hop out the window and approach the locked cell full of people. Unlock the cell and watch the scene.

When that scene is over, slowly walk forward with the handcuffs on. Then go up the steps and assassinate La Touche in one swift motion. Leave the area and become anonymous after the assassination has been completed.

SERVER BRIDGE: THE BASTILLE

Make your way to the portal and you will then end up in a cemetery. This is just some linear platforming for the most part. You have to move through the graveyard, then through some catacombs. Upon exiting the catacombs, make your way towards the castle in the distance and you will reach the escape portal.

THE SUPREME BEING

o don’t let Elise get detected

Head over to the designated area for a scene with Elise. Afterwards, your goal is to investigate the tent of Robespierre. Use the ropes above the area to make your way near the tent. There are some guards there, so toss a cherry bomb to lure them away. There is a big fancy alarm bell sitting in front of the tent, so sabotage it before going into the tent yourself.

On the table inside of the tent, you will find a note. Pick up the note and then exit the tent. Return to Elise for another scene. Afterwards, you have to escort Elise and also complete the challenge of Elise not getting detected. Do this by taking out the guards that get close to her.

Afterwards, start planting the notes. There are three notes in total to plant. You will plant them on objects as well as on people. Planting the three notes will complete the mission.

THE FALL OF ROBESPIERRE

Follow Elise. A scene will play. Switch on Eagle Vision to find the person you need to talk to next, and then go talk to them. Afterwards, you will have a new objective of finding Robespierre.

Keep Eagle Vision on and you will find him. Then tail him through the streets. He will be running, so you need to also run in order to keep up with him. The challenge of not getting into conflict is complicated here as following him by running on the streets will most assuredly get you into conflict. So to avoid that, go to the rooftops as soon as you can and stick to them as much as possible while you tail the target.

Another scene will play and then the challenge of “don’t get into conflict” will be joined by a challenge to lockpick a door. The building you need to get into has a locked door that you can pick to enter it, which will satisfy that challenge. It also lets you circuvent most of the guards here so that avoiding conflict is that much easier. Go into the room with Robespierre for a final scene.

THE TEMPLE

Your main objective here is to find Germain. But in the meantime, you should also go around and complete the challenges. If you don’t have the skill to perform double air assassinations yet, then you won’t be able to complete the first challenge, so keep that in mind.

Anyways, to find Germain, you need to enter the catacombs. Upon getting inside,
you will see a wall that is glowing. Interact with the wall. A scene will play and then you will be in the final boss fight against Germain. This fight is actually pretty easy.

What you need to do is get behind cover. Pull out cherry bombs and use them to distract Germain. Then go up behind him and stab him with an “assassination” attempt. Run for cover after performing a successful stab and repeat the process a couple more times until Germain is defeated.

Starting in Sequence 03, you can purchase assassin abilities for Arno. These abilities are purchased using upgrade points. Some of the abilities require that you reach a certain sequence in the game before they are available for purchase.

There are four separate categories for skills in Assassin’s Creed: Unity. I recommend leveling Arno based simply on the way that you want to play the game. If you find yourself having difficulty in combat, level up his health. If you want to be more aggressive, focus on his combat attributes. It’s really up to the player here.
